LIFESTYLE LETTER

Celebrating children, families, and experiences shaping the world to come

August 2026 PUBLISHER

KC Cole | KC.Cole@CityLifestyle.com E D I TO R

Bianca Bain Villegas Bianca.BainVillegas@CityLifestyle.com P U B L I S H E R AS S I STAN T

Children are the future of our town, our nation, and our world. They are tomorrow’s innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and leaders, shaped not only by what they learn, but by the experiences, opportunities, and relationships that help them grow into confident, capable adults. In this special Kids Issue, we celebrate the many ways families are investing in the next generation. In a community as globally connected as ours, one of the most rewarding ways to broaden a child’s perspective is through the diverse restaurants that define our region. Sharing meals from around the world introduces children to new cultures, traditions, and experiences while creating lasting family memories. Education remains a cornerstone of future success, and organizations like C2 Education continue to help students build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive world. For families hoping to grow, Global Star Surrogacy is helping make parenthood possible through its global network of medical partners, personalized support, and an exceptional track record that has made it a trusted resource for intended parents worldwide. This issue also shines a spotlight on inspiring individuals who demonstrate what is possible when talent meets determination. Virginia native Nikia Lee transformed childhood dreams into a successful career in entertainment, while twotime U.S. National Team member Ian Zakharenka exemplifies the discipline, perseverance, and character developed through years of dedication to Taekwondo. We are also delighted to feature Trey Kennedy, whose relatable humor and candid reflections on marriage, parenting, and family life have resonated with millions. His story is a reminder that laughter often becomes one of the greatest gifts families share. Of course, childhood is also about discovery and joy. Whether learning music and performance skills at Bach to Rock, embarking on an unforgettable adventure at Luray Caverns, or exploring the many family-friendly destinations featured throughout these pages, there is always something new to experience together. We are also honored to feature Neveen Kurtom Phillips, whose work supporting local families through life’s most challenging transitions is matched by her own experience building a thriving blended family. As you turn these pages, we hope you find inspiration, adventure, and a renewed appreciation for the children who are already shaping the future before our eyes. Did Your Portfolio Lose 57% in 2009 and Your Advisor Called It “Normal”? If So, You’re Not Alone. Your Money Doesn’t Have To Be The Bear’s Lunch. It’s Time To Cage The Beast. Millions of investors believe they have a “money manager,” when in reality they’re paying for a buy-and-hold strategy that offers zero protection in bear markets. When markets fall, most advisors do nothing and still collect their fees, hoping prices eventually recover. That’s not management. That’s neglect. In a bold and eye-opening exposé, John F. Reutemann Jr., CLU®, CFP®, reveals how the financial industry has normalized this failure and what investors can do instead. Drawing on more than 50 years of experience and hard data, Reutemann exposes why nearly 9 out of 10 advisors use the same wealth-destroying approach and how to spot the warning signs before your retirement savings are at risk. Inside Reutemann’s new book, you’ll discover how to: - Identify advisors who rely on pie charts instead of protection - Ask the questions most advisors hope you won’t - Recognize early signals of bear markets - Use disciplined strategies like sector rotation and moving averages - Demand real risk management not excuses The truth is uncomfortable: the industry profits when investors stay uninformed. This book pulls back the curtain on a system that abandoned its duty to protect your wealth—and shows what real money management actually looks like.

About the Author John F. Reutemann Jr., CLU®, CFP®,is CEO of Research Financial Strategies and a nationally recognized financial expert, with appearances on CNBC and Fox News. He divides his time between Sarasota, Florida, and Potomac, Maryland, where he lives with his wife Toni and their growing family. Because hope is not a strategy, and your future deserves better.

Send an email to john.reutemann@rfsadvisors.com, and Jack will send you two complimentary chapters of his new book. Read them. They might just save you a fortune.

TREY & KATIE

KENNEDY

ON MARRIAGE, KIDS, AND THE COMEDY OF REAL LIFE

28

FAM ILY CA R E | L I FE + C U LT U RE

Trey Kennedy makes a living finding comedy in regular life. Marriage. Toddlers. Yoga pants. The Thursday-night scramble between school dropoffs, soccer practice, and whatever has to be done by morning. Twelve years in, it shows: millions of followers across every platform, three stand-up specials, a sold-out Relatable Tour, and a style of humor fans send each other captioned, “Are you watching me?” He delivers the kind of comedy that travels because everyone’s living some version of it. Katie, his wife of six years, is a former biomedical engineer who also built a modeling career. She’s now raising their kids and co-hosting Correct Opinions alongside Trey — the show where the two of them swap takes on marriage, parenting, and whatever came up that week. Trey has been at this longer than people realize. An Edmond, Oklahoma kid who grew up playing basketball described himself as a “shy kid who never thought he’d be an entertainer.” He started making videos while attending Oklahoma State University. After building millions of followers on Vine before the platform shut down, he gave himself six months on Instagram and Facebook to see whether he could rebuild from zero. He did. Stand-up soon followed. His first special, Are You For Real?, streams on YouTube; the second, Grow Up, on Amazon Prime; the third, built around the Relatable Tour, wrapped earlier this year. “I’ve been trying to be funny every week for like twelve years now,” he says. A slow climb, made one bit at a time.

“I’ve been trying to be funny every week for like twelve years now.” Most of what Trey writes lately starts in his own kitchen. Thomas is three and a half, and he is, in his father’s words, “a movie.” He narrates his own life from the moment his eyes open and mispronounces words in ways his parents now repeat to each other because no one else would believe them. His younger sister, Eva, is what Katie calls “the calm one.” With a third now in the mix, the Kennedys are officially outnumbered. After six years of marriage, Trey and Katie have learned that the partnership runs best when it gets its own time on the calendar. So once a week, they leave the kids with a sitter and go out for coffee. “You need a system,” Katie says. “It’s about taking time to look each other in the eye. Not the kids. Not the cameras. Just each other.” The same instinct shapes the work. Most of Trey’s trial and error happens onstage or on Instagram, but the first read is always Katie’s. “There’s only been one time ever I’ve had to be like, ‘you’re not doing that,’” she says. The rest of the time, she just laughs first.

Kurtom

PHILLIPS

Helping others navigate life’s transitions while building her own new chapter For nearly two decades, family law attorney Neveen Kurtom Phillips has guided Maryland families through some of life's most difficult transitions. From high-conflict custody disputes to complex divorces, she has built a reputation as a fierce advocate and trusted counselor for clients facing uncertainty about their future. At the same time, Kurtom has navigated many of those life transitions herself. As the founder of The Law Office of Neveen Kurtom, she has built a successful legal practice while raising three sons, rebuilding her life after divorce, and recently creating a blended family with her husband, attorney Tony Phillips. Today, the Potomac resident sees both her personal and professional journeys as proof that difficult endings can lead to meaningful new beginnings. “People often come to me during one of the hardest periods of their lives,” Kurtom said. “I want them to know that while the process can be difficult, there is a path forward.” Kurtom immigrated to the United States from Kuwait at age seven and grew up in Beltsville alongside her seven siblings. She credits much of her work ethic and determination to her mother. “My mother is my hero,” she said. “She taught me the importance of family, resilience, and independence. She showed me that women can be strong professionals while remaining devoted mothers and caregivers.” After beginning her legal career as a prosecutor and later working in private practice, Kurtom realized she wanted more control over her schedule and her future. At just 26 years old, she opened her own law firm.

“I wanted to be an attorney without sacrificing my family life,” she said. “I knew I needed to build something that allowed me to do both.” That decision laid the foundation for a thriving practice that has now served Maryland families for nearly 20 years. Kurtom focuses exclusively on family law matters, representing clients in divorce, custody, child support, and related litigation. She believes her ability to listen carefully and understand the emotional realities behind legal disputes is what distinguishes her practice. “People want an attorney who understands not only the law but also what they're going through,” she said. “My goal is to provide honest advice, practical solutions, and strong advocacy while helping clients move forward.” Many of Kurtom’s cases span months or even years, allowing her to build lasting relationships with clients. The most rewarding part of her work, she says, is helping families find stability and begin a new chapter. That perspective became even more meaningful following her own divorce. After several years on her own, Kurtom met Phillips. The two were married last year and have since blended their families, creating a busy, active household of five children, from elementary school to high school, and adults that are full of energy. Their Potomac home is often filled with basketball games, scout meetings, dance recitals, family dinners, and weekend activities. Like many modern families, balancing schedules requires teamwork, flexibility, and a healthy sense of humor. CONTINUED >

Attorneys Tony Phillips and Neveen Kurtom Phillips

A successful attorney, devoted wife, and proud mother, Neveen Kurtom Phillips finds purpose in serving both her clients and her blended family.

“We call it divide and conquer,” Kurtom said, describing the family’s approach with a laugh. “Every week looks a little different, but we make it work.” The family enjoys spending time together outdoors, attending sporting events, traveling, and creating new traditions. Last year, the kids had fun doing their own Secret Santa gift exchange. For Kurtom, some of the most meaningful moments have been watching relationships develop naturally among the children and seeing a new family identity emerge. “I love seeing how people can come together through love, patience, and commitment,” she said. “Blended families take work, but they can be incredibly rewarding.” Kurtom believes those experiences have strengthened her ability to relate to clients who are facing major life changes of their own. “I understand what it means to rebuild,” she said. “I understand the challenges that come with co-parenting, change, and uncertainty. More importantly, I know that happiness and stability are still possible on the other side.” Today, whether she’s advocating for a client in court or cheering from the sidelines at one of her children’s activities, Kurtom remains focused on the same principle that has guided both her personal life and her legal career: helping families move forward. “Life isn't perfect,” she said. “There will always be challenges. But you can take control of your future, create balance, and build a life that reflects what matters most to you.” mymarylandattorney.com | 301.356.4423

M UST SE E | TRAVEL

As we continue to reflect on our 250th anniversary, families looking to continue the celebration of the nation's rich history need look no further than the Shenandoah Valley, home to one of the country's most extraordinary natural landmarks. Located in Luray, Virginia, Luray Caverns has welcomed generations of travelers since 1878. Nearly 150 years after its discovery, the destination remains one of Virginia's most beloved attractions, blending natural beauty, science, history and adventure into an experience that captivates visitors of all ages.

The story of Luray Caverns began by accident. On Aug. 13, 1878, tinsmith Andrew Campbell noticed a cool draft rising from a small opening in the ground. Along with his friend Benton Stebbins, he spent four hours widening the entrance before descending into a breathtaking underground world that had remained hidden for millions of years. Today, visitors can explore formations that date back approximately 480 million years. Towering stalactites, mirrored pools and naturally colored mineral deposits create a landscape unlike anything above ground. The caverns are still active, with formations continuing to grow at the remarkable rate of about one cubic inch every 120 years. At a constant 54 degrees year-round, the caverns provide the perfect escape from summer heat and make an ideal destination for families seeking adventure during the dog days of August. One of the most remarkable features inside is the Great Stalacpipe Organ, recognized as the largest musical instrument in the world. Spanning three and a half acres, the instrument uses natural stalactites to produce beautiful symphonic tones, creating an experience visitors won't soon forget. The Cathedral Room, the largest chamber inside the caverns, has welcomed more than 500 weddings since 1879. In the late 19th century, thousands gathered there for dances illuminated by the glow of 5,000 candles. Children especially love the famous Wishing Well, where visitors have tossed coins since 1954. Over the years, more than $1.1 million has been donated to charitable organizations thanks to the generosity of guests. USA Today once described it as "probably the world's most productive" wishing well.

The adventure continues above ground. Included with admission, the Shenandoah Heritage Village showcases artifacts and buildings dating from the 1750s through the 1920s, offering a glimpse into early American life. Nearby, the Car and Carriage Caravan Museum houses more than 140 transportation artifacts, including the oldest running automobile in America, an 1898 Benz. Families can also enjoy free concerts at the 117foot Luray Singing Tower or venture into nearby Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive for breathtaking mountain views. As the nation enters its next chapter following the celebration of America's 250th anniversary, destinations like Luray Caverns serve as reminders that some of the country's greatest treasures are not only preserved in history books but hidden beneath our feet. For nearly a century and a half, Luray Caverns has inspired wonder, curiosity and countless family memories. Chances are, it will continue to do so for generations to come. THE GLOBAL REACH OF GLOBAL STAR SURROGACY

Found er,

For many individuals and couples, the journey to parenthood is among life’s most meaningful aspirations. Yet for those facing infertility, medical challenges, or circumstances that make traditional family building difficult, the path can be far more complex. In an increasingly global world, intended parents are seeking trusted partners capable of navigating both the emotional and logistical aspects of surrogacy. For families throughout the Potomac region and beyond, Global Star Surrogacy has emerged as a respected leader in that space, helping transform dreams of parenthood into reality. Founded by surrogacy advocate Rekha Suresh, Global Star Surrogacy was built on a mission of creating accessible, ethical, and successful pathways to family building. Over the past 16 years, the agency has grown into one of the world’s most recognized international surrogacy organizations, serving intended parents from 73 countries and helping bring more than 1,000 babies into loving homes. The agency reports a remarkable 99.3 percent success rate for intended parents bringing home a baby, a figure that reflects both its extensive experience and carefully cultivated network of medical, legal, and fertility professionals. Equally notable is the trust the agency has earned within the surrogate community. Approximately 50 percent of Global Star Surrogacy’s surrogate mothers are either returning surrogates or referrals from previous participants, an indicator of positive experiences and long standing relationships built throughout the process. In an industry where trust and transparency are paramount, those numbers speak volumes. What distinguishes Global Star Surrogacy is its truly international approach. Through established partnerships across multiple countries, the agency offers programs in the United States, Colombia, Greece, Georgia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, India, Mexico, Armenia, and Argentina. This expansive network provides intended parents with a range of options that can be tailored to their individual goals, timelines, budgets, and legal considerations. For many Potomac area families, whose personal and professional lives often span continents, this global expertise is particularly appealing. The region’s international community, including diplomats, executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals, frequently seeks solutions that extend beyond traditional borders. Global Star Surrogacy’s ability to coordinate complex

international arrangements while providing personalized support has made it a valued resource for those exploring family expansion through surrogacy. The agency’s services extend far beyond matching intended parents with surrogate mothers. Clients receive guidance throughout every phase of the journey, including fertility clinic coordination, legal processes, medical oversight, parental rights documentation, travel arrangements, birth planning, and post birth requirements. This comprehensive approach allows families to focus on preparing for their child’s arrival rather than navigating the often complicated logistics associated with international surrogacy. At the heart of the organization’s success is a commitment to ethical practices and individualized care. Every intended parent’s story is unique, and Global Star Surrogacy approaches each journey with that understanding. Comprehensive screening protocols, experienced medical partnerships, legal safeguards, and ongoing communication help ensure that both intended parents and surrogate mothers are supported throughout the experience. As family building continues to evolve, surrogacy has become an increasingly important option for many individuals and couples who wish to grow their families. Advances in reproductive medicine, combined with greater awareness and acceptance of diverse family structures, have expanded possibilities for parenthood in ways that were once unimaginable. Global Star Surrogacy stands at the forefront of that evolution. By combining international reach with personalized service, the agency has built a reputation for excellence that extends across continents. Its success is measured not only by statistics, but by the families it has helped create and the lives it has forever changed. Behind every successful journey is a story of hope, perseverance, and love. For more than a thousand families around the world, Global Star Surrogacy has played a role in writing that story, helping parents welcome the children they have long dreamed of holding in their arms. In doing so, the agency continues to demonstrate that while the path to parenthood may differ for every family, the destination remains beautifully universal. Fulfill your dream of building your family. globalstarsurrogacy.com rekha@globalstarsurrogacy.com 9715 Caney Pl, Silver Spring, MD 20910

BACH TO ROCK:

Making Music Fun The heart of rock and roll is beating strong at Bach to Rock in Bethesda

On any given afternoon, when you walk into Bach to Rock in Bethesda, the building is pulsating with the sounds of music and joy. From classical to country, rock to reggae, to pop, modern, jazz and more, every genre is available to students who are looking the learn the art of playing and performing music. Founded by Jeff Levin, a former middle school music teacher and Juilliard-trained musician, Bach to Rock was launched as a summer camp in 2002 to address gaps in traditional music education. The school’s unique approach encourages kids to explore the kinds of music they love and have fun while doing it. Students also form bands with one another and perform together at local venues, which helps to boost their confidence and self-esteem. “At Bach to Rock, you can learn everything from how to sing to how to play any instrument you can imagine, how to perform on stage or be a music producer, or even learn how to DJ,” says Joezell Charles, School Director of the Bethesda location. By focusing on music that kids enjoy listening to, teachers get the students engaged and make learning fun. In 2007, the original school was acquired by a company called Cambridge Information Group (CIG) and eventually expanded into a franchise model, which now has 60 locations. Bach to Rock’s Bethesda location remains the flagship of its four company-owned schools in the Potomac region. “The brilliance of Jeff’s concept is if you want students to be successful you need to make learning fun,” says Brian Gross, president of Bach to Rock in Bethesda. “Jeff understood how to simplify music instruction, particularly in the beginning, so that students are successful more quickly, which also makes them more motivated to play and practice.” But Bach to Rock goes one step further, putting students together to perform and having them play in public places. “Our band and glee club programs get students to play music with their peers, which is a key skill for growing musicians,” says Gross. “So beyond the private lessons, we try to put all of our kids into groups, whether it’s a rock band, jazz ensemble, or an acapella choir, which fosters socialization and a team environment – kind of like a sports team concept, where kids learn to be part of something bigger than themselves. Now you’re practicing not just for yourself, but for the betterment of the group,” he stresses. CONTINUED >

47

Students also have the opportunity to perform live at local music venues and semi-annual battles of the bands, which helps them build self-confidence and allows them to share their music with others. “I think the process of putting a band together with five individuals who have never played together before and maybe don’t have that much experience playing a particular instrument, then watching them grow from that point and really gel and come together to perform in front of others is a really great aspect of our program,” says Charles. “And seeing the reactions from their parents and others watching their performance – the amazement on their faces – is so rewarding.” While the majority of Bach to Rock’s students are in elementary to high school, the schools offer programming for all ages, from infants to adults. Early childhood classes for toddlers and preschoolers include Mommy and Me programs called Rock and Roll and Rock City, along with an introduction to instruments called Kids and Keys. As kids get older, they can move into private lessons, music production and even learning how to DJ. They also offer birthday parties and summer camps. “While our goal is to make music fun, we’re also educationally focused,” stresses Gross. “In addition to learning how to sing and play instruments and perform in the community, we’re also teaching kids music theory, method, reading, etc. But we’re doing it in a way where it doesn’t take away from the fun of being able to play and showcase their talent in front of others.”

Twelve-year-old Charlie Belford-Peltzman has been participating in Bach to Rock’s programs for four and a half years and loves the opportunities it has given him to improve his skills on guitar, bass, piano and drums. His band, the Usual Suspects, performed at The Best of Potomac event last year, and regularly performs at local venues around the Bethesda region, in addition to playing at various music competitions. “I love being able to choose the songs I play,” says Charlie, who also writes, produces and records his own songs. “I’ve had a lot of really great teachers at Bach to Rock. They actually listen to what you want to learn and help you. I really enjoy sharing my music with others and hope to continue performing for years to come.”

“ We ’ r e teaching kids music theory .... but we’re doing it in a way wh e re it d o e s n’ t t a k e away from the fun of being a b l e t o p l a y .” — Brian Gross Students regularly perform at local venues in the Potomac region, including the 9:30 Club in D.C., the Fillmore Siver Spring, La Cantrina and Caddies Bar and Grill in Bethesda, as well as various local events at area schools and the Montgomery County Fairgrounds – even at the Best of Bethesda event last year. “We believe an important part of music education is public perUsual Suspects formance,” says Gross. “These Photo by Dr. Ceylon Mitchell | Mitchell M3 Media performances actually serve two purposes,” he explains. “One is for the students to get comfortable performing in front of others and to show off their skills, and two, it’s also a great way for us to showcase what we offer to the community, so hopefully more people can learn about what we do and participate in our programs.” People are definitely noticing the program’s success. For the 10th year in a row, Bach to Rock has been recognized as one of the top 500 franchises in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500, ranking number 483 in 2026 for its outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, operational and marketing support, and brand power. The program has also been listed as a “500 Powerhouse Brand” by Franchise Times. “To be recognized as one of the top 500 franchises in the U.S. is a great accomplishment for our team and a testament to the passion and dedication of our franchisees, instructors and support staff who bring the Bach to Rock experience to life every day,” says Gross. “It’s exciting to see our commitment to music education and community connection resonate on a national level.” Gross envisions a day when there are 400 or more Bach to Rock locations across the U.S., and beyond. “The beauty of music is that it’s everywhere,” says Gross. “It would be great to have Bach to Rocks all over the world. Giving kids the opportunity to learn how to make music and perform gives us joy. We’re filling that gap in the communities we serve, and hopefully we can continue to do more of that in the future.” Bach to Rock | 301-913-5757 | 4910 Cordell Ave., Bethesda, MD 20814

ASK THE VET

Q: It’s been so hot lately—how do I know if my dog is at risk for heat stroke, and what can I do to prevent it? A: Great question — and one we hear a lot this time of year. Heat stroke is one of the most dangerous (and often preventable) emergencies we see during the summer months. Unlike humans, dogs don’t sweat to cool off; they rely on panting, which isn’t always enough in extreme temperatures.

Here are some simple ways to help keep your dog safe:

Love Us? Tell a Friend!

Refer a friend to Veterinary Park Potomac and you’ll both get rewarded! You’ll get $100, They’ll get $100! It’s our way of saying thank you for trusting us with the pets you love—and the ones your friends love, too.

At just 10 years old, Ian was already displaying the focus, discipline, and determination that would define his future success.

Ian as a Junior Black Belt winning more medals Circle: Master Tam, Ian, and Master Sharma

How Ian Zakharenka Inspires the Next Generation

LEADING BY EXAMPLE ARTICLE BY FINN ALDRICH | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED When Ian Zakharenka first stepped into the Taekwondo studio at age six, few could have predicted the remarkable journey ahead of him. Today, the Potomac teen is not only a nationally ranked black belt and two-time USA National Taekwondo Team member, but also a mentor, coach, and role-model for younger athletes throughout the community. "Ian is one of the most exceptional students I've taught in more than 40 years of instruction," says his longtime mentor, Master Sharma. "His achievements are impressive, but it's his character that truly sets him apart." Ian's dedication to Taekwondo has led to extraordinary accomplishments. He earned his Junior Black Belt in 2022 and his Senior Black Belt just one year later. In 2024, he became the first student in his studio's 40-year history to qualify for the USA National Taekwondo Team. Then, he repeated the achievement again in 2025, earning a second consecutive selection. Yet Ian's impact extends far beyond his own success. As a junior instructor and competition coach, he dedicates countless hours to helping younger students develop both their skills and confidence. In his first year as head coach, two of his students qualified for the USA National Team, an achievement that speaks to his leadership and ability to inspire excellence in others.

Under Ian's leadership as forms team captain and coach, the studio experienced its most successful competitive season ever, with 60 athletes earning a record-breaking 90 medals. Fellow students admire his calm demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to help wherever needed. Outside the studio, Ian excels academically as well. Maintaining straight A’s in Advanced Placement and college-level courses while taking on the workload of a school year internship, he demonstrates the same discipline and commitment that define his athletic career. Like any elite athlete, Ian has also faced challenges, including injuries and the demands of balancing training, academics, and personal commitments. Rather than viewing obstacles as setbacks, he sees them as opportunities to grow stronger. Despite his accomplishments, those who know Ian best describe him as humble, kind, and approachable. Whether helping a new student tie a belt or encouraging a teammate after a difficult competition, he consistently leads with compassion. As he looks towards future intercollegiate competitions and double majoring in Aerospace Engineering and Astrophysics at the University of Maryland, Ian continues to embody the values of perseverance, leadership, and integrity. He proves that true champions are measured not only by medals, but by the positive impact they have on others.

From Small-Town Dreams To Big Stages Virginia performer Nikia Lee is bringing joy to families one pup at a time

Long before national tours, theatrical spotlights and sold-out performances, Nikia Lee was a little girl in Buckingham, Virginia, with a dream and a room full of imagination. Growing up in what she lovingly calls "the heart of Virginia," Lee was surrounded by music from the very beginning. Creativity was not simply encouraged in her family. It was woven into daily life. Gospel singers, musicians and performers filled generations of family history, creating an environment where music felt less like a hobby and more like a birthright. “My mom said she sang to me while I was still in the womb,” Lee says. As early as age two, she remembers dressing up, singing, dancing and embracing all things glamorous. Hair, makeup and performance quickly became second nature. Family members recognized her natural talent early, and what started as church performances and community events slowly evolved into something bigger. Still, her journey was anything but conventional. Lee balanced creative pursuits with athletics throughout school, spending six years running track while continuing to sing and perform outside the classroom. It was not until college at Randolph-Macon that she faced a defining choice: continue athletics or fully pursue performance. She chose the stage. The decision ultimately opened doors she had dreamed about since childhood. Lee immersed herself in choir programs, theater productions, voice lessons and music studies

while earning a degree in Arts Management with a music concentration and minors in theater and education. Just weeks before graduation, she attended her first professional audition at Kings Dominion. She booked the job. That first role quickly led to more opportunities as a vocalist, actor and dancer. Regional theater followed, then larger productions including The Color Purple, Matilda and Hairspray. Eventually, national touring entered the picture. When a friend suggested she submit materials to VStar Entertainment Group, Lee decided to take a chance. Days later, she received an email that would change everything. The production needed an immediate replacement for PAW Patrol Live! “Heroes Unite.” Suddenly, her first national tour became reality. Today, Lee is performing in PAW Patrol Live! “A Mighty Adventure,” bringing one of children's most beloved worlds to life for families across the country.
