In 2018, he elected to operate in his own independent environment, joining with two other doctors in private practice at Metro Orthopedics and Sports Therapy (MOST) in Potomac. MOST provides a full spectrum of care for the treatment of all musculoskeletal issues that prevent individuals from living healthy and active lifestyles. The practice also uses regenerative medicine techniques to spur the natural healing process – an approach that replaces, repairs and promotes tissue regeneration. Besides Dr. Nayfeh, Dr. James Gilbert, an Orthopedic Surgeon, and Dr. Usman Zahir, a Spine Surgeon, work in the practice along with Physician Assistant Jodie Stone and a number of physical therapists. The majority of Dr. Nayfeh’s operations involve hip and knee replacements and over his career he estimates he has performed more than 4,000. From simple, minimally invasive replacements to the most complex revisions, he has operated on a wide spectrum of joint replacements. His repertoire includes partial and total robotic knee replacements as well as custom (Conform MIS) and cement-less knee replacements. Moreover, Dr. Nayfeh’s experience and skill have made him a master of correcting previously failed operations; he is a renowned expert in infected and failed joint replacements, with an established referral service for such situations. In 2006, Dr. Nayfeh was among the first surgeons in the area to begin performing anterior hip replacements. Since then, he has performed thousands. Besides performing custom hip replacements (Conform MIS) he is among the earliest surgeons in the region to perform outpatient joint replacements. His patients run the gamut from young adults suffering from osteoarthritis or hip and joint diseases to older adults suffering from arthritis and hip fractures. He is currently Chief of the Orthopedic section at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown. Because of his reputation as an expert in joint replacements, Dr. Nayfeh has lectured and operated on patients all over the world, including patients in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Abu Dhabi. Dr. Nayfeh also makes time for charity work by traveling to impoverished areas, including the towns of Ramallah and Nablus in the West Bank, to perform pro bono surgeries. The most challenging cases he sees are patients who have been operated on by multiple doctors and have developed severe infections. “I take it personally when I can’t make a patient better,” he says.

Also, within seconds, images of the patient’s teeth appear on a computer screen, which, Dr. Gotsiridze said, enables him to “zoom into the image to better assess and educate the patient regarding their oral health.” Dr. Gotsiridze describes his type of dental care as minimally invasive and evidence-based. “We focus on personalized treatments and partner with each patient to achieve their healthiest, most attractive smile,” he said. “I always recommend preventive and the most conservative approach for successful, predictable, and lasting results.” In addition to exams, cleanings, and fillings, Dr. Gotsiridze and his team offer treatment for gum disease, devices for snoring and sleep apnea, implants, bridges, crowns, in-office and in-home whitening, and many cosmetic and restorative procedures, including full-mouth reconstruction and same-day teeth replacement. During Covid, Dr. Gotsiridze and his team are taking precautions to keep everyone safe with hand-sanitizing stations, temperature checks and a mask requirement. Dr. Gotsiridze encourages patients not to miss appointments or delay routine dental care, despite the pandemic. Located in the gleaming Barlow Building on Wisconsin Ave., the cheerful offices of Bethesda Chevy Chase Advanced Dentistry give patients even more to smile about. The bright space is filled with natural light from abundant windows. Live plants and colorful wall art add to the relaxed vibe, and that’s even before being greeted by the friendly staff. Although they’ll be wearing masks, their eyes are smiling, just like the song says.

Courtney Check, Regional Marketing Manager at Orangetheory Fitness, Park Potomac is ready for Covid-safe coaching. More at Orangetheory.com.
“We work with people who don’t have the financial resources and now there is a lot more of that,” Deborah said. “We also work with teachers in Title One schools. They are extraordinarily stressed so we provide stress relief and social-emotional learning programs for them.” Founded in 2011, Performance Rejuvenation Center is D.C.’s oldest hormone-optimization and anti-aging clinic that focuses on the latest anti-aging therapies, growth hormone peptides, TRT and injectable vitamins, according to founder Eric North. Clients are seen and treated by Dr. Kirt Tyson, N.M.D. (doctor of naturopathic medicine). The Performance Rejuvenation Center is currently functioning in an all-virtual manner. “We do virtual medicine and medical consults (with Dr. Tyson) in all 50 states,” Eric said. “I also help people on social media with things they can do themselves, starting with a good mindset.” Describing Covid’s impact, Eric said, “Adversity creates an opportunity to grow. How we learn from it determines our future.” Hormones, Eric explained, are key. “A healthy balanced hormonal system is the key to living an optimized life,” he said. At Orangetheory Fitness, Courtney said many people are flocking back to their studio for workouts (where many Covid precautions are in place). “Quite a few members are back,” she said. “They are so happy to be back. It’s one piece of something normal from pre-quarantine,” she said. In addition, Orangetheory offers free online at-home workouts from their website and YouTube. “We have a different workout every day of the year at all our studios and online. These are not just for members. It’s free for everyone.” Orangetheory workouts are customizable for any age or fitness level. “Some are power, and some are endurance or strength, or a combination,” Courtney explained. For a stronger immune system, Dr. Wang encourages people to exercise, get more sleep in the winter, eat more plant-based foods and healthy fats, plus fermented foods such as yogurt, kimchi, soy sauce and miso and consume less artificial sugar. She said, “Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can help reduce inflammation, relieve stress, reduce pain, promote sleeping quality, boost recovery from injuries, promote an effective metabolism system
