We're living in an era fixated on efficiency and productivity, and I'll be the first to admit I often get caught up in that mindset, too. It's easy to fall into the trap of believing that only activities with a clear calculation of time, effort, and payoff are worthwhile. We gravitate toward the familiar, seeking control and avoiding uncertainty.

But I've come to realize that this approach can sometimes leave life feeling lacking and unfulfilling. We need to make space for spontaneity, for venturing into the unknown, for embracing the uncertainty that comes with trying new things. In those unstructured moments, connections flourish, friendships blossom, and trust deepens.

Making time for my family and friends has been a top priority for me. Consistently investing in these relationships is crucial for seeing significant and lasting positive change.

I encourage you to make room for exploration in your own life. Break free from the routine, lose yourself in a new hobby or destination, and prioritize what truly matters. It's these moments of exploration and connection that make life truly meaningful.

Pascack Valley Realty Market Report

Navigating the local real estate landscape, whether you're a resident, investor, or looking to join our community.

Navigating the Next Chapter: Downsizing Tips for Empty Nesters in Pascack Valley

As a seasoned broker with Christie’s International Real Estate in Westwood, NJ, I’ve had the privilege of assisting numerous empty nesters in the Pascack Valley area as they transition to a smaller home. Downsizing can be an emotional and challenging process, but with the right guidance and approach, it can also be an exciting opportunity for a fresh start. Here are some invaluable tips to help empty nesters navigate this important milestone:

Start Early and Plan Strategically: Downsizing is not a decision to be made hastily. Begin planning well in advance to allow sufficient time to sort through belongings, make decisions, and prepare your home for sale. Create a timeline and checklist to stay organized and on track throughout the downsizing process.

Declutter with Purpose: One of the most crucial steps in downsizing is decluttering your current home. Take inventory of your belongings and identify items that hold sentimental value versus those that are no longer needed. Consider donating, selling, or gifting items that you no longer use or need. Remember, less clutter means less to pack and move to your new home.

Stage for Success: Staging your home is essential to attract potential buyers and maximize its appeal. Remove personal items and excess furniture to create a clean, spacious, and inviting atmosphere. Highlight the unique features of your home and showcase its potential as a comfortable and functional space for the next chapter of your life.

Find the Right-Sized Property: When searching for a smaller home, prioritize your needs and preferences. Consider factors such as location, amenities, layout, and affordability. Work closely with your real estate agent to explore available options

in the Pascack Valley area that align with your lifestyle and budget. Remember, downsizing doesn’t mean sacrificing comfort or quality of life—it’s about finding the perfect fit for this new phase of your journey.

Embrace a Fresh Start: Downsizing is an opportunity to simplify your life, focus on what truly matters, and embrace a fresh start. Embrace the positive aspects of downsizing, such as reduced maintenance, lower expenses, and newfound freedom to pursue your passions and interests. Surround yourself with belongings and memories that bring you joy and create a space that reflects your unique personality and style.

In conclusion, downsizing can be a transformative experience for empty nesters in the Pascack Valley area. By approaching the process with careful planning, decluttering with purpose, staging for success, finding the right-sized property, and embracing a fresh start, you can navigate this transition with confidence and excitement. As your trusted real estate advisor, I am here to support you every step of the way and help you find the perfect home to begin the next chapter of your journey.

Celebrate Americana!

Bucks County is Historic in More Ways Than One

Hellerick's Family Farm

As July leads us to reflect on the "revolutionary" birth of our country, it may cause you to yearn for some true Americana. Consider taking an epic trip to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Whether you wish to plan a family getaway or a romantic weekend for two, Bucks has you covered.

Couples will love the peace and tranquility of the 1740 House in the historic village of Lumberville, directly on the banks of the Delaware River. The original section of this riverfront inn was built in—you guessed it—1740. All 23 rooms offer spectacular river views packaged with a satisfying and delicious breakfast on their bright, sunny morning porch. The property offers a cozy lobby filled with vintage historic photos and period décor, a dining room, and an intimate bar area specializing in deliciously-crafted cocktails. Spacious rooms offer ensuite baths, outdoor balconies, and high-end amenities. The Inn also accommodates corporate meetings and private events with high-end cuisine and service in a laid-back setting--and the smalltown hospitality offered by Innkeeper Pam is off the charts!

1740 House
Hellerick's Family Farm

After a good night's sleep, you may want to explore the great outdoors with a bike ride or hike along the canal towpaths—no cars allowed! Bucks Bike and Hike Adventure Tours provides rentals and tours focused on highlighting the area's natural beauty. Float float down the Delaware with Bucks County River Country. They've been outfitting adventurers for over 55 years with all the gear needed for safe and unforgettable tubing, kayak, canoe, and raft experiences.

Feed your mind, body, and soul at Dharma Bums if you are looking for a place to enjoy an afternoon cocktail outdoors complemented with jamming tunes and a snack from their all-vegetarian, twisted bar food menu.

Later, make a reservation at the Black Bass Inn, located a short distance from the 1740 House. Unmatched views, historic charm, and exceptional service deliver an unforgettable dining experience along the Delaware River. It's the perfect setting to relax and unwind as you settle into the heart of Bucks County. We enjoyed a fresh butter lettuce, avocado, and citrus salad, crisp and zingy firecracker shrimp, mouthwatering seared scallop risotto, and out-ofthis-world seared mahi mahi with lobster mashed potatoes and asparagus. We toasted the evening with their signature Bass'tini and Raspberry Lemontini and selected a fine bottle from their extensive wine cellar to accompany our entrées.

Couples getaways are great, but if you decide to make your trip more of a family affair, Bucks County has plenty of choices. Nearby kid-friendly accommodations boast indoor and outdoor pools, play areas, and other fun options. There are numerous options—check online at visitbuckscounty.com.

Bring the entire family to visit Hellerick's Family Farm, a unique agritourism farm in Doylestown. Run by its seventh-generation owners, Paul and Bruce Hellerick, this attraction offers something for everyone. U-pick wildflowers, zinnias, and berries, an exhilarating climbing silo and adventure aerial park, and a newly-opened miniature golf course are just a few of the fun activities available. The Hellerick brothers have brought child's play to a new level—almost all play structures and hands-on activities are innovatively repurposed farm equipment.

The farm's resident trip of goats (yes, that's the proper word for identifying a group of goats) is guaranteed to bring a smile—their antics are a show in and of themselves. The farm also offers goat yoga sessions, so check their schedule online. A hayride is included in admission, so take a ride and learn more about farming practices in the Pennsylvania Delaware Valley. We guarantee you won't see your

kids looking at a phone during their visit! Hellerick's also has plenty of fall-time fun with vibrant fields of sunflowers, corn mazes, and pumpkin picking.

When it's time for a streetside stroll accompanied by a bit of retail therapy, rest assured that it abounds in downtown New Hope and nearby Peddler's Village Meander through distinctive and charming boutiques, bake shops, cafés, and breweries. You'll uncover exceptional original art, one-of-a-kind blown glassware, handcrafted jewelry, homemade fudge and candies, antiques, country accents, and much more.

Bucks County is an easy, 90-minute trip from the Pascack Valley area, so it's a perfect day trip or weekend getaway. While you're in the car, embark on a scenic driving tour of the County's remaining covered bridges—true architectural landmarks from days gone by. You won't run out of amazing things to see and explore as you celebrate our great nation and make special memories in the heart of the American countryside. It's a trip that will go down your family's history.

CRYSTAL SPRINGS RESORT

Did you know that we have an exceptional luxury resort that’s unparalleled in the New York Metro area—and it’s right in our own backyard?

Crystal Springs Resort, located in the scenic Skylands region of northern New Jersey, is only an hour away, and it’s

The All-Season Resort in Our Own Backyard
“This four-season resort boasts two spectacular hotels: The AAA Four-Diamond Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel.”

the closest luxury resort of its kind to Bergen County residents in Sussex County.

Whether you plan on taking a quick family vacation, a romantic getaway, or hosting colleagues, few destinations can match the warm, welcoming splendor of Crystal Springs Resort, the number one golf, spa, and culinary destination in the Northeast. Nestled along the edge of the Appalachian Mountains, this four-season resort boasts two spectacular hotels: The AAA Four-Diamond Grand Cascades Lodge and Minerals Hotel, a quick, three-mile drive from each other. It also features six top-rated golf courses, ten dining outlets–including a four-star restaurant and a world-renowned wine cellar–two award-winning spas, a best-in-class wellness program, and gorgeously appointed guest rooms and luxury suites featuring stunning mountain and valley views.

Michelle Abate, Crystal Springs Resort’s Director of Marketing, understands the inherent value of a property like this. “We are an all-season resort. In the summer, we see many families come to visit— there’s so much to do, yet we are an hour’s drive away from Bergen County, and no flight or long drive is required!”

The resort boasts one of the most celebrated restaurants in New Jersey, Restaurant Latour. Latour approaches seasonal cuisine in a modern way, highlighting locally sourced ingredients; its wine cellar holds over 6,000 labels and has won the Wine Spectator Grand Award every year since 2006.

The Crystal Tavern showcases local farmers and purveyors with a menu that evolves with the seasons and features paired cocktails, wines, and microbrews—and no charge for the fabulous sunset views!

Springs Bistro offers starters, shares, salads, and an exceptional array of pizza selections. More stellar views are waiting for you on their outdoor patio.

The resort features a unique tropical 10,000 square-foot tropical biosphere pool paradise, featuring indoor and outdoor pools, a water slide, an underground aquarium, and a grotto-like hot tub in addition to its Vista 180° Pool complex with two incredible pools and waterslide, and Minerals Pool. There’s certainly enough to keep you cool and entertained throughout the summer season!

The resort’s newly renovated fitness center offers plenty of cardio equipment, weight training, a dedicated fitness and yoga studio, spin classes, basketball, pickleball, an indoor track, and outdoor pools with steam, a sauna, a hot tub, and a cold plunge. Guests are welcome to use all of these facilities during their stay.

There’s a nature trail for hiking on the property, and guests can also take aim at archery and laser clay shooting, drop a line to “catch a big one” in the fishing hole, visit downtown Warwick, New York, gear up for some mountain biking or relax with a glass at a paint and sip class. Even learn about beekeeping and pollination.

“Sustainability is a big emphasis here at the resort,” says Michelle. “We have a local beekeeper and on-site hives and bee nesting boxes. We offer bee initiatives for corporate groups and guests, too. Bees are critical to our food supply chain, and we embrace environmental consciousness throughout all of our activities and services.” The resort also has the northeast’s largest resort-based solar farm.

Crystal Springs Resort offers a variety of unique getaway packages for retreats, bachelor and bachelorette parties, culinary experiences, and corporate gatherings. It’s the metro area’s ultimate destination wedding resort with breathtaking sunsets and spectacular mountain views. The resort has four

distinct and stunning wedding properties, all of which offer an unforgettable experience, with only one wedding held at each venue per day— guaranteeing the bride will be the sole focus at the event. Every venue features its own unique enchantment. Your special day will be personal and memorable.

Our magazine publishers and recent newlyweds, Anthony and Lucille Rizzo, recently spent a weekend at the resort, exploring everything it offers. “We enjoyed a mixology class where we worked with a master mixologist to learn how to craft four different tequila cocktails while learning more about the origin of tequila,” says Lucille. “Following that, we had the opportunity

to tour the resort’s amazing wine cellar,” added Anthony. “It was led by their incredible on-site sommelier, who also guided us in a wine tasting–it was off the charts! A once-in-a-lifetime experience, for sure.”

Plan your nearby escape for this summer, or schedule a trip to look forward to for the fall season when the resort hosts its Crystal Springs Music Festival on Columbus Day weekend. The event features exceptional musical performances, food, beverages, games, and activities. Book the trip of a lifetime without having to spend a “lifetime” getting there!

Hitting the “GREEN”

PASCACK VALLEY CITY LIFESTYLE HOSTS

NETWORKING EVENT AT TAVERNA ON THE GREEN

PHOTOGRAPHY BY JEREMY LEBLED

Sixty members of the "friends and family" of Pascack Valley City Lifestyle connected for a networking event recently at Taverna on the Green at the Paramus Golf Course in Paramus.

Taverna on the Green opened in October of 2022. The space was originally a 1790s carriage house, enticing guests to be immersed in the 18th-century ambiance while enjoying the event.

"Taverna on the Green provides country club service without the Membership," states owner Victoria Tahhan. "Our menu features classic American dishes with Mediterranean flair." Guests enjoyed Taverna's "secret recipe" meatballs, penne

in a creamy vodka sauce, tasty charcuterie, and happy hour cocktails.

Pascack Valley City Lifestyle's publisher, Anthony Rizzo, hosted the event to help the magazine's advertising partners and local business owners network and build collaborations.

"As always, our quarterly networking events are amazing," says Anthony. "We often host them at restaurants owned by our local partners to showcase their beautiful space, food, and service. We always have new faces, which is great for everyone."

Steven Hopper, President of Pratt Plumbing, Heating, and Air, noted, "I was glad to meet with many of the area's topnotch businesses and share experiences within the Pascack Valley. I'm proud to be

associated with great people and the businesses they have built!"

Linda Chinman Pollack, owner of North Jersey Home Maintenance Group also enjoyed the event. "It is rewarding to get to know one another and see how we can assist each other."

"Networking with Pascack Valley business owners has been a valuable asset. Meeting and learning about other resources has been a great experience," says Raymond Sweeney of Frames By You/ Crooked Halo.

BUGGING OUT

Enjoy the Season--Pest Free!

Who doesn’t love kicking back and enjoying the great outdoors during the summer season? But, the accompanying pests that arrive with the warmer weather? Not so much.

Whether they crawl, fly, or scurry, when your home or property is invaded by uninvited critters, Luigi and Toni Ann Migliore of Bugging Out know how to handle the situation. With a long history of experience in the pest control business, Luigi and Toni Ann Migliore decided to open up their own company about eight years ago.

“We began by working out of the trunk of Luigi’s car,” says Toni Ann. “Now we are one of the fastest growing professional pest control companies in New Jersey. Our headquarters is located in Westwood, and we have ten trucks and 14 employees.”

The couple credits their emphasis on customer service as the main reason for their stellar growth and success rate. From the moment the business was established, Toni Ann and Luigi committed to delivering the highest quality customer service by establishing open

lines of communication, initiating face-to-face relationships with every customer, and providing a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Luigi meets every new client personally to fully understand their pest issues and to provide a comprehensive estimate for service. “We are both hands-on owners,” says Toni Ann. “Luigi is in the field, and I’m in the office. Both of us communicate with our customers every day.”

The team and their crew offer every type of pest control service imaginable, with safety and pesticide compliance at the forefront of every service. Both organic and pesticide treatments are available for various applications. “Many of our clients prefer organic treatments, but we are fully certified to administer chemical pesticides as well,” says Luigi. “In the pest control industry, ‘the label is the law,’ and all of our technicians are fully licensed and comply with all application guidelines to ensure safety—especially of children and pets.”

“Natural” pest control treatments have come a long way. Infestations of honeybees are managed by calling in a local beekeeper to recover and relocate the bees. Rather than poisoning mice that have invaded a home, Luigi and his team find and seal access entries. One-way tunnels usher squirrels (both earthbound and flying) out of your home with no way to get back inside. Raccoon issues are addressed with humane traps. Once caught, they are relocated and released in a more appropriate environment.

Bugging Out can power spray essential oils to repel spiders and other crawling insects around a home’s foundation. Their quarterly home protection plan includes the application of a crack and crevice residual barrier for critters, sealing all entry points, a termite check, and wiping down the foundation’s exterior to eliminate spider webs. Mosquito treatments are also in demand, and Bugging Out’s yard protection program covers them—along with ticks and fleas.

But what about that newer nuisance, the spotted lantern fly? “We had a bad infestation last year, but we’ve come up with an effective product to treat them,” says Luigi.

Toni Ann and Luigi take pride in what they do, and they train their staff in the same way. All team members are fully certified. They arrive at each job in clean, fully stocked trucks. “Our staff is trained to do the job efficiently and correctly,” says Toni Ann.

The couple’s belief in superior customer service is evident in all that they do, and they have recently added a quality control officer to their ranks. “Luigi and I take pride in what we do and invest in training our staff to feel the same way,” says Toni Ann. “They arrive at the job in uniform and keep their trucks clean and well stocked. They do the job professionally and effectively— that’s the way it should be done!”

OHM FITNESS’S EMS SUIT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Suit Up and Work Out!

ARTICLE BY KRIS PEPPER | PHOTOGRAPHY BY OHM FITNESS
Once you slip on the EMPower Suit and try a class, you get what all the hype is about!

Wish you could “turn up the volume” on your workout? OHM Fitness can make that possible with its high-tech EMPower Suit. Suiting up and working out with this breakthrough scientific technology will deliver results three times faster than traditional workouts!

OHM Fitness is the first franchise to deliver group workouts using highly-effective Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) through the use of its wearable wireless technology, the OHM EMPower Suit. This high-tech fitness revolution packs the benefits of an intense two-and-a-halfhour workout into a low-impact, 25-minute session. Members achieve results three times faster than at a traditional gym because the suit’s electrical pulses deliver 85 contractions per second to muscles instead of the body’s typical one contraction per second without the suit.  (For those who may not know, “ohm” is a measurement of electrical resistance.)

It sounds unbelievable, but it’s all possible due to EMS. The technology has been around for decades, but the ability to use it in a group setting is new, thanks to advancements by OHM Fitness CEO and Co-Founder, Doug Payne. In the past, this type of workout has been reserved for elite athletes and celebrities, but now it’s going mainstream.

Owned by husband and wife team John and Janet Mok, OHM Fitness is a game-changer. “It was very gratifying to see and hear the positive reactions of our members when they first tried OHM Fitness classes and the EMPower Suit,” says Janet.

The one-piece suit has 20 pads that stimulate and contract the body’s major muscle groups. It’s powered by a battery pack

fastened at the hip (eliminating the need for wires), which sends the appropriate pulses to the designated muscle groups. The pulse level, which is based on each client’s routine and fitness level, is adjusted throughout the class with a tablet by the group fitness coach. Everyone’s experience is unique, so that it meets their personal health and fitness goals with a full-body workout.

“Once we tried OHM Fitness for ourselves, we instantly knew it would stand out from the rest,” says Janet. “The wireless EMS technology allows us to provide both gentle, joint-friendly movements for individuals with musculoskeletal concerns as well as intense, comprehensive workouts for those seeking a deeper physical challenge. Once you slip on the EMPower Suit and try a class, you get what all the hype is about!”

“We believe this next generation of fitness will appeal to health-conscious residents, time-pressed individuals/parents, the techminded, and those previously concerned or hesitant to engage in traditional gym-based exercise,” says John.

“Members are so charged up when they come in for the classes,” says Janet. “It’s quite evident that they are overjoyed with completing a comprehensive workout in just 25 minutes. It’s also rewarding to be able to give every BODY an opportunity to workout safely while improving overall health.”

The couple also owns a new location in Wayne. Connect with OHM Fitness for a free, two-week trial!

Maintenance’s Best Tips

Top Ten List FOR HOME MAINTENANCE

Owning a home is a fulfilling journey, but it also comes with responsibilities, especially when it comes to maintenance. Regular upkeep ensures your home retains its value and provides a safe and comfortable environment for you and your family. Below are some essential home maintenance tips to help keep your household running safely and smoothly.

1. Inspect and Clean Gutters: Clogged gutters can lead to water damage and compromise the structural integrity of your home. Inspect them regularly, especially before the rainy season, and remove any debris to ensure proper drainage.

2. Check and Replace HVAC Filters: Dirty filters restrict airflow and reduce the efficiency of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Check and replace filters every three months. Use a high-efficiency HEPA filter to maintain optimal performance and indoor air quality.

3. Inspect for Water Leaks: Water leaks can cause extensive damage if left unchecked. Regularly inspect plumbing fixtures, faucets, and visible pipes for leaks and promptly repair any issues to prevent water damage and mold growth. Test your valves to make sure they are working properly.

4.  Test Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are crucial for your family’s safety. Test them monthly and replace batteries at least once a year to ensure they are in working condition.

5. Seal Gaps and Cracks: Inspect doors, windows, and walls for gaps and cracks that can let in drafts and pests. Seal them with caulk or weatherstripping to improve energy efficiency and keep your home comfortable.

6. Maintain Appliances: Regular maintenance of refrigerators, dishwashers, and washing machines can prolong their lifespan and prevent costly repairs. Clean filters, check for leaks, and follow manufacturer’s guidelines for maintenance.

7. Trim Trees and Shrubs: Overgrown trees and shrubs can damage your home’s exterior and pose a safety hazard during storms. Trim branches away from the roof and walls to prevent damage and keep your home safe.

8. Inspect Roof and Siding: Your roof and siding protect your home from the elements. Inspect them regularly for signs of damage, such as missing shingles or cracks, and repair any issues promptly to prevent water infiltration and structural damage.

9. Clean Dryer Vents: Clogged dryer vents reduce your dryer’s efficiency and pose a fire hazard. Clean the vents annually to remove lint buildup and ensure proper airflow.

10. Schedule Professional Inspections: While DIY maintenance is essential, some tasks require professional expertise. Schedule annual inspections for your HVAC system, roof, and plumbing to catch any issues early and avoid costly repairs.

Regular home maintenance is essential for preserving your investment and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. By following these essential tips and staying proactive, you can keep your home in top condition and enjoy peace of mind, knowing that your household is well-maintained. If you wish to have a professional maintain your home, call North Jersey Home Maintenance Group to learn more about our Preventative Maintenance Program. njhmg.co

You can access all of it when you stay in the heart of the action at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The upscale boutique hotel boasts 238 luxury rooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking the city. Consider booking a cabana room and you’ll be pool-front in no time--and the beach is a quick car ride down the road.

The Hyatt Centric ensures you’re never more than a few steps from the city’s top restaurants, watersports, nightlife, shopping, and sightseeing attractions on Las Olas Boulevard. Stroll the boulevard, duck in and out of its cool breezeways, and uncover delights around every corner. The NSU Art Museum is a block away, and the Hyatt offers a discount, so be sure to visit. Be on the lookout for the noisy parakeets nesting in the trees along

downtown Fort Lauderdale. If you prefer to celebrate in your room, there’s even a Champagne vending machine on the hotel’s main level so you can raise a glass in the privacy of your guest room.

The Harborwood Urban Kitchen & Bar at the Hyatt features award-winning cuisine using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Try the quinoa and roasted sweet potatoes with scrambled eggs or the veggie omelet for breakfast. Lunchtime led us to the wedge salad and the SoFlo Cuban panini. Everything is fresh, delicious, and served with a smile by the restaurant’s delightful and friendly staff.

Be sure to book a clandestine visit to Room Nine01 during your stay—the hotel’s reservations-only speakeasy. Enjoy uniquely crafted cocktails and a specially

curated menu of gourmet bites. And don’t miss the jelly doughnut shots!

Known as the Venice of America, Fort Lauderdale lies just north of Miami and boasts over 300 miles of inland waterways that run through Greater Fort Lauderdale. Spend a day discovering it all on the city’s water taxi. It’s an attraction all of its own, where the crew provides a narrated tour of the waterways as you glide by the mansions on Millionaire’s Row and past the jaw-dropping yachts of the rich and famous. Hop on and off as much as you like with an all-day pass. Visit shopping districts, parks, lively waterfront dining establishments, or even Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Downtown and Boardwalk. The city's water trolley is also an option (a more limited service, but free). The Riverwalk is about two blocks from the Hyatt. Both the taxi and the trolley are accessible from there.

If you have a passion for stunning architecture and early 20th-century history, check out the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on the south side of Miami, about an hour’s drive from Fort Lauderdale, with timeless Mediterranean-style architecture and collections dating from the early 20th century back to ancient Pompeii. Vizcaya’s main house was the jewel of a fledgling Miami when it was built between 1914 and 1922. A century

UP YOUR GAME

Go Low Indoor Golf Will Take Your Game--or Your Special Event--to New Heights!

It’s summertime, and the golfing season is in full swing! We spoke with Gary Samborgna Jr., founder and owner of Go Low Indoor Golf in Paramus for some straight shots on optimizing your game with their state-of-the-art golf simulators. Go Low’s simulation equipment also offers a fun and unique party or special event experience. Read on to learn more.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE KEY SKILLS YOU TEACH BEGINNER GOLFERS?

We start off working on stance, grip, posture, and positioning. Our main goal is to help the student make solid contact with the ball. Once a player can get the ball airborne, we can work on directing the shot properly. Usually, in one or two lessons, beginners are able to play on a course.

We also review golfing etiquette so new players know where to stand and know the importance of being ready to take your shot to maintain the pace of play. These rules can be overwhelming, so I remind my players to learn the basics, pick up the ball if needed, and have fun.

DO INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED GOLFERS COME IN FOR LESSONS?

Absolutely. When a golfer feels that they need to work on a particular area of their game, whether it’s the drive, mid-game, or putting, they will schedule a few lessons with me. They complete a questionnaire, and I watch them hit a few balls so that I can understand their skill level, any injuries they may have, and their golfing “pain points.” Then, we focus on the skills they need to develop.

Golfers can enroll for a single lesson or select a package of 30or 60-minute sessions. Our website has all of the details.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU GIVE TO GOLFERS WHO ARE FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR GAME?

Golf is a mental game, and even experts get frustrated. I remind them that it’s to their advantage to have a short-term memory! No matter how bad your last shot was, forget it and get past it. You can’t undo the past, and hopefully, your next shot will even things out. Keep looking forward and never look back!

Owner Gary Samborgna Jr.

WHY

IS GOLF SO POPULAR THESE DAYS?

Golf is a sport that all ages can play—for life. My oldest student is 86. Most players wish they had taken it up earlier. You get to enjoy the great outdoors, and it’s beneficial for business networking and relationship-building. It’s low impact, easy on the joints, and injury risk is minimal. We are seeing a dramatic uptick in kids taking up golf rather than contact sports.

HOW ARE YOUR LESSONS DIFFERENT THAN GETTING LESSONS FROM A PRO AT A CLUB?

Thanks to the simulator, we can easily replicate any type of shot much more efficiently. When you learn at a club, you need to go to the hole that accommodates the kind of shot you need to work on, so you may need to practice in between other players and weather is always an issue. Here, I can drop the ball to play in any situation—long game, short game, drive, and so on. We can simulate any golf scenario that is challenging for you and address the issues. And the weather doesn’t matter!

YOU ALSO HAVE A GREAT SPACE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS! TELL US MORE.

We can host all types of events—from indoor golf “outings” to birthday parties, networking events, corporate programs, and holiday gatherings. We’ve even hosted wedding welcome par“tees” for out-of-town guests and pre-wedding golfing gatherings—a fun way of bringing the wedding party together to work off pre-ceremony jitters!

We can accommodate events for a maximum of 225 people, but smaller parties are welcome too. You can even book just a part of the facility. Tables and chairs are available for rent, and you can order catering and bring your own beverages.

The fun part is that our events are not just for golfers. The simulators offer various golf games that people of any skill level can play, including mini-golf, golf darts, golf skeeball, and more. We also have cornhole boards, shuffleboard, and a ping pong table— our large open space can accommodate almost anything!

Take your game to new heights and check out Go Low Indoor Golf for practice, play, lessons, and un-fore-gettable parties!

Bring the full restaurant experience to your home with our classic appetizers, soups, salads or family style meals. Prime & All Natural Steaks and Red Meat, Bell & Evans Poultry, Heritage Pork, and so much more.

KOOB S T O TAKEYOU AWAY

I ASKED MY EXPAT AND TRAVEL-SAVVY FRIENDS TO RECOMMEND BOOKS TO TAKE ME FAR AWAY. HERE YOU GO!

Blue Latitudes

Blue Latitudes: Boldly Going Where Captain Cook Has Gone Before. The Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist travels to various parts of the world, following in the footsteps of explorer James Cook.

The Island of Missing Trees

It is 1974 on the island of Cyprus. Two teenagers, from opposite sides of a divided land, meet at a tavern in the city they both call home. The tavern is the only place that Kostas, who is Greek and Christian, and Defne, who is Turkish and Muslim, can meet, in secret, hidden beneath the blackened beams from which hang garlands of garlic, chili peppers and wild herbs. This is where one can find the best food in town, the best music, the best wine. But there is something else to the place: it makes one forget, even if for just a few hours, the world outside and its immoderate sorrows.

The Corfu Trilogy

Three classic tales of childhood on an island paradise -  My Family and Other Animals, Birds, Beasts and Relatives and The

Garden of the Gods by Gerald Durrell - are available in a single edition for the first time in The Corfu Trilogy

Just before the Second World War the Durrell family decamped to the glorious, sun-soaked island of Corfu, where the youngest of the four children, ten-year-old Gerald, discovered his passion for animals: toads and tortoises, bats and butterflies, scorpions and octopuses. Through glorious silver-green olive groves and across brilliant-white beaches Gerry pursued his obsession . . . causing hilarity and mayhem in his ever-tolerant family.

Cutting for Stone

Cutting for Stone is a novel written by Ethiopian-born, Indian-American medical doctor and author Abraham Verghese. It is a saga of twin brothers, orphaned by their mother’s death at their births and forsaken by their father.

The Museum of Innocence

The author is a Nobel-laureate Turkish novelist. The book, set in Istanbul between 1975 and 1984, is an account of the love story between the wealthy businessman Kemal and a poorer distant relative of his, Füsun.
