We can all probably think of a man in our life that has had a significant impact on us at one time or another. Whether it is someone pushing us to be a better version of ourselves, someone who sees the best in us, someone we look up to for guidance, or perhaps someone we don’t personally know, but who inspires us by their greatness, we can recognize the impact these role models can make in our lives.

This month we had the opportunity to meet with Attilio Adamo, a local real estate extraordinaire who is also mentoring his daughter Victoria as she transitions her real estate business into Bergen County. This father-daughter duo is looking to take their business to new heights.

We also had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Samuel Mufson of Chestnut Ridge Dental to learn what makes this dental practice so unique. Dr. Mufson always ensures all of his patients leave with a smile.

It’s a CELEBRATION!

Pascack Valley City Lifestyle recently threw an official launch party, inviting both old and new friends to a celebration on March 29 at The Gathering in River Vale.

The magazine, which specializes in a hyper-local, community focus, hit the scene last July and has continued to gain momentum throughout the Pascack Valley area over the past year. With twelve issues now under our belt and looking forward to our first anniversary this summer, the event celebrated and honored all of the supporters and sponsors of the publication, along with the fantastic businesses we've gotten to meet, interview, and write stories about. This editor had the opportunity to interview the publisher, Anthony Rizzo.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO CELEBRATE A LAUNCH PARTY FOR PASCACK VALLEY MAGAZINE?

It was important for me to host a launch party for this magazine because so many incredible people have helped me get to this point. I wanted to celebrate them and all they have done for me. I also feel it is important to network in business, so this was another opportunity to give back to my partners and give them a chance to meet other businesses in the area.

WHO WERE THE KEY PEOPLE WHO HELPED YOU MAKE THE SIGNIFICANT STEP INTO PUBLISHING A MAGAZINE?

My founding partners who believed in me and the magazine before we printed our first issue in July 2022. I would like to especially thank my fiancé, Lucille, for all her help along the way. I also want to thank my cousin, Tiffany, and her husband, Jake Slowinski, who presented this opportunity and have continued to mentor me.

WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT DOING BUSINESS IN THE PASCACK VALLEY COMMUNITY?

What I enjoy most about doing business in this area is that local businesses genuinely want to help and see each other succeed. Even though the Pascack Valley comprises nine towns, residents in the area use these towns interchangeably. It is great to do business in the community where I grew up and live in now.

Dr. Sakina Dinani of Synergy Health Advisors in Montvale was a guest at the event. "As a business owner, the best part of the Pascack Valley community is the strong sense of community and supportive business environment. We all share the goal of continuing to build the area into a thriving community. As a physician, opportunities to network with like-minded business owners allow me to build long-lasting relationships with other local professionals and residents and create a stronger, more vibrant local economy in which the entire community can flourish together."

Liz and Dan Mueller, owners of AEDE Dance Studio in Park Ridge also attended, noting the importance of advertising locally. Liz said, "We think it is important to advertise with a hyper-local publisher because it helps connect local businesses to their community as well as each other. Most of our clients are from the Pascack Valley region, so having a local magazine supporting this area is a good place to focus where we spend our advertising money."

WHAT'S NEXT FOR PASCACK VALLEY CITY LIFESTYLE?

The future will look a lot like the present. My goal was always to start this magazine to support local businesses and tell the stories of many great people in the Pascack Valley. While the magazine grows, I will strive to keep the vision the same.

Clothing makes the man, they say.

Local business partners Andrew Berenberg and Aaron Tadian couldn’t agree more. They are co-founders of AA Exclusive Fabrics located at 120 Kinderkamack Road in Emerson.

Andrew and Aaron became friends several years ago and thought it would be a great idea to create a new business partnership. At the time, Aaron was working with a custom clothing company and Andrew was the owner of Emerson Cleaners. Suits and dry cleaners—a match made in heaven.

“Andrew was my client when I was selling clothing with my first company. We became friends over the years, and thought it would be great to collaborate,” says Aaron.

Since that initial plan, they’ve buttoned up their business model which is starting to turn heads—because it’s more than the suit—it’s the service.

“Our typical client is a guy who doesn’t know how to shop, doesn’t have time to shop, doesn’t like to shop, and has no idea what to shop for,” says Aaron. “We help with fashion guidance and styling. It makes life so much easier because they can go into their closet in the morning and know exactly what they will wear—every day of the week.”

There is certainly value in convenience and being a one-stop-shop for a man to manage his wardrobe. Andrew discovered this himself when he originally went to Aaron for help with custom clothing. “I don’t like to shop, and now, I never have to go shopping again. I love the fit and it’s so much easier.”

Easy is an understatement.

“Make a consultation appointment and we will meet you anywhere you want—home, office, you name it. We will have a conversation regarding what you need, what you wish to replace in your closet, or what type of event you are attending,” says Aaron.

Once we establish the basics, we review fabrics together, decide on the style, and take measurements,” says Andrew. “Five to six weeks later, the suit is delivered, and we will do the final custom fitting. The best part is that we have your size on file, so the next time you need anything, all you need to do is pick the fabric and style.”

AA curates the finest European fabrics, with most of its stock coming from Italian fabric designers. “You can’t find what we have in stores—our fine fabrics are very exclusive,” says Aaron.

The business also caters to all sizes and price ranges. “The beauty of custom clothing is that no matter what your size, you will look professional,

well-suited, and ready for business,” says Aaron. “Also, because of the customized process, we can pinpoint the design to your specific price range. So, whether you are a typical suit buyer or trend toward the higher-end styles, we’ve got you covered for custom shirts, suits, pants, jackets, blazers, tuxedos—even custom jeans and sportswear.”

An article in Forbes stated, “Take a look around the next time you go grocery shopping or pass through any airport. Dress standards are so low today that just wearing a nice suit made a contrast against a backdrop of overwhelming mediocrity.”

Aaron and Andrew couldn't agree more. “If you dress well, you feel good and perform well. If you are wearing a baggy uncomfortable suit you won’t,” says Aaron. Andrew adds, “You can crush it with a first impression.”

Sleep apnea is a condition in which breathing repeatedly starts and stops through the night. It is generally treated with a C-PAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Machine). “Many patients come to us because they cannot tolerate the C-PAP,” says Dr. Mufson. “We provide them with a mouthguard which fits better and is more comfortable. Patients that travel frequently find the mouthguard is much easier to bring along rather than a large C-PAP machine.”

Another sought-after specialty of the practice is Invisalign®, a system of clear braces which serve as a non-metal alternative to straighten teeth without metal wires or brackets. Each aligner set is custom-made for a patient’s teeth and gradually moves their teeth into an ideal position over time.

After an initial consultation, the patient’s mouth is thoroughly scanned, and the doctor is able to share a “before” and “after” image with the patient. The information is sent to Invisalign, and the doctor is provided with a clinical outline for the patient’s individualized treatment process. Once the process is reviewed and accepted by the dentist and patient, the treatment is ordered. “When we receive the aligners, we add the appropriate

attachments to their teeth and start the process,” says Dr. Mufson. “Patients are given a few sets of aligners and instructions on how to clean and change them. They are usually seen once per month to monitor progress and dispense new aligners.”

Upon completing the Invisalign treatment, the patient is given a set of retainers to maintain their perfect smile! There’s undoubtedly a prescription for success at Chestnut Ridge Dental. The team enjoys healthy
