For June, we want to celebrate the men in our lives and in our town. We talk about the key to success and representing what truly matters most in life. We had the opportunity to interview men who are finding success both personally and professionally, but it all begins with those they love. It's amazing how many of our interviewees are new fathers. We congratulate them!
My own dad has been one of the greatest gifts in my life. He brings a steadfast kind of love to our family that could never be replaced. His care for the details in my life are a treasure and the way he protects those he loves goes beyond all the stars in the universe.
A father is someone who anchors the family. A father’s gifts of quality time, life-giving words and positive actions have a long-lasting impact on his children. A father's love is irreplaceable.
Let your father or a father figure in your life know how much he matters to you. And if you are a dad, let us be the first to say - thank you. You are invaluable to the people who know and need you as well as the community around you.
Happy Father’s Day!

VISION AND SUCCESS IN 2024
ARTICLE BY CASSANDRA GREEN | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ABBY WATKINSWHAT MAKES YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT LIFE AND REAL ESTATE?
Innovate Commercial Real Estate is a full-service boutique real estate brokerage helping clients lease, buy and sell commercial real estate. I'm passionate about building community both in my personal and professional life. Part of my success is also helping my clients build generational wealth so they can focus on what they are passionate about in their lives.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE KEY ADVANTAGE TO SUCCESS?
Responsiveness and transparency. We make it a priority to put our clients' best interests at the center. We are able to build long-term relationships on trust.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A HEALTHY MINDSET AND LIFESTYLE AS A BUSINESS OWNER?
It is a challenge for sure, especially as a new dad! I think what I've learned is spending time with family, being active outdoors and enjoying good food are moments that I really take the time to appreciate. I would just encourage anyone in business to be as intentional as possible with their time and align their values to those they want to be in business with.
WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO KEEPING YOUR EYES ON THE FUTURE?
One of the most important things regarding building a business for the future is anticipating consumer demand and being in the path of process. Parker is poised for growth! We are investing a ton into our downtown. We are positioned well to meet client needs with excellence and care.
YOU’RE ALSO A MEMBER OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, WHAT WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT DO YOU HAVE FOR BUSINESSES IN PARKER?
Parker is a great place to start a business. The community is so welcoming and vibrant. I recommend any new business owners get involved and dive into as much as they can to get the word out and share their vision.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR KEY ADVANTAGE IN LEADING A HEALTHY LIFE BOTH PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY?
Having a healthy lifestyle gives me the energy and ability to navigate the challenges of business ownership. Being an entrepreneur can be quite a rollercoaster ride. Even getting daily workouts at the local Planet Fitness with my buddies makes tackling the day even easier.
PLEASE SHARE ABOUT THE JOINT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM YOU DEVELOPED AT ADVENTHEALTH.
Coming out of fellowship I had opportunities to go to well-established joint replacement programs, but I sought the challenge of creating something from scratch. When I came to Parker, we were performing between 10-15 joint replacements per year. Today, we perform more than 500 joint replacements per year. We were the first hospital in Colorado to receive an accreditation by the Joint Commission for joint replacement. We are one of the leading hospitals in the country when it comes to custom patient specific joint replacement.
I believe one must keep their family at the center of their life. I am a husband, father and son who is passionate about orthopedic surgery and work. When you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. I am blessed to be able to care for and change my patients’ lives with joint replacement. I also believe community involvement outside your career is important. For me, that has been through coaching. Coaching has afforded the opportunity to interact with hundreds of families in the Parker community and, more importantly, help shape young men and show them that men can have a successful demanding career, but continue to maintain a faith and family focus while giving back to their community.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEWEST ADDITION TO YOUR FAMILY! COULD YOU PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY?
Thank you! I am married to my amiable wife, Deidra. Together we have our precious 5-monthold daughter, Dyomi. I graduated with honors from the University of Lagos Law School in 2010. I am licensed to practice law in the U.S. and Nigeria. I am the managing attorney at Okwena Immigration LLC, where we specialize in family and business immigration, representing corporations, as well as immigrants like myself and their families. I am also the co-chair of the African Leadership Group (ALG) Legal Clinic and a staff attorney at the Center for Immigrants in Denver.
When I am not working, I enjoy running, playing tennis and spending time with my family.
AS A PROFESSIONAL WITH A GROWING FAMILY, WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU?
First is my relationship with God. I want my life to be continually God-centered and seek to honor Him in every way. Secondly, having a young family, my aspiration is to be able to spend quality time, establish traditions and create fond memories with the ones I love. I am also very close to my extended family and friends. I want to keep it that way. Lastly, my work gives me a lot of fulfillment. I am committed to passionately advocating for my clients and growing my legal practice.
HOW DO YOU BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN OVERTHINKING AND MAKING QUICK, BUT HEALTHY DECISIONS?
Something I learned a long time ago was to surround myself with trusted advisors. Each day I am confronted with challenges and new scenarios that require me to act quickly and in the best interest of our clients, employees and the facility. When a situation requires fast action, I rely on my network of trusted advisors.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT WHEN IMPROVING YOUR HEALTH OR PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE?
Mindset is everything. Half the battle is helping my clients work through those voices in their head that are holding them back or telling them they can’t do something hard. It’s healthy to admit change does not happen overnight. Improving your physical health and changing your mindset requires a strong 100% commitment.
HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE VISION AHEAD?
I know from firsthand experience that taking care of my physical health has helped me in every aspect of my life. When I became a husband and later a dad, my drive to pass along this message and grow this business grew as well. My family has become my ultimate motivator. I love what I do and I have an amazing support system not only at home but at work as well. That is what allows me to keep doing what I love.
HOW DO YOU STAY AHEAD OF THE DETAILS WITH TWO BUSINESSES?
We stay ahead of the details because we both play significant roles that allocate the requirements and separate the workload between the two of us to run successful businesses. Jorge does all our marketing, business operations and runs our barbershop. Wesley handles all the logistics, finances and strategic direction for all our businesses.
WHAT IS THE KEY TO BEING SUCCESSFUL FOR YOU?
Having a positive mindset, being goal oriented and making sure that you work towards your goals every single day! The key is to stay motivated. You have to have movement toward your dreams by setting realistic goals that you can achieve each day toward your success. Believing you can achieve your goals along with a good work ethic go a long way. A very important part of business and life is patience, commitment and never giving up - making sure that you find solutions and work very carefully to manage your stress. We take care to respect and support each other as well.
John Prichard spends his days thinking about the future. As a financial advisor with Edward Jones, John assists clients in setting their financial goals and establishing a plan to meet them.
“I have learned that the term financial advisor can mean many things to people. Communicating what a comprehensive financial plan entails, what I as a financial advisor cover, and what wealth management includes is often a surprise for prospective clients,” he says.
John has been with Edward Jones since 2018 and says of his profession, “I really enjoy the planning process. While I believe I’m quite good at investments and my engineer and doctor clients love to hear all about the most minute details on why we should do one thing over the other, I find the plan is the difference maker.”
In creating a plan, John says, “The single most important question I ask my clients is; ‘What matters most?’ For potential clients asking ‘where they are today’ and ‘where they want to be’

helps me understand them, their priorities, goals and values.”
Priorities, goals and values can look dramatically different for each client. As a financial advisor, being able to create a plan that is specific and successful includes many different factors.
“The complicated and easy part to this is it always starts with the goal,” says John.
John believes the use of S.M.A.R.T. goals is beneficial in ensuring financial strategies are clear and precise.
He explains, “S.M.A.R.T stands for Specific: What exactly we are planning to do while being as precise as possible, Measurable: Clear numbers so we can track our progress, Achievable: Is it possible to be done with the skills and resources available or are changes needed, Relevant: Will it lead to a meaningful beneficial result, and Time-Bound: When is the start and end date to this specific goal so that it fits in the plan.”
John continues, “All that being said, the most meaningful part of my job is being there for clients during life’s unexpected challenges. I find immense significance in providing support during the difficult times.
Helping clients navigate adversities, empathizing with their experiences and offering practical solutions is where I feel my role truly makes a difference. Being able to stand by them, feel their struggles and assist them in overcoming obstacles brings a sense of fulfillment that goes beyond financial advising – its about genuinely caring for their well-being and journeying with them through life’s ups and downs which is why I chose to do what I do.”
Aaron Davis and his family are a resilient inspiration in discovering what it means to live life fully and sporting what truly matters most. We wanted to share a little bit about their story in hopes that they inspire you to keep your dreams alive for not only yourself, but your family as well.
YOU LIKE TO RESTORE CLASSIC CARS, HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THIS AND WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT IT?
Growing up, my father was always into classic muscle cars, and I guess I just followed his passion for classic cars. Even as a teenager when all my friends were out getting into trouble, I was busy in the garage with my dad learning how to fix and eventually restore them.
I love the challenge and the feeling of bringing a car back from the dead. I love the feeling of restoring a car back to its original glory and showing it off. Tracking down rare hard-tofind parts or fixing and fabricating parts that don't exist anymore is always a huge challenge but with a great pay off when I see the finished product.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CAR SHOWS YOU'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR?
Typically we try to do one out-of-state car show a year as well as local shows and events, but this year the shows I would usually compete in are just too far away for the family to make the trip. We will see what the summer brings, and we are actually working with my son's high school to put together a local car show to benefit their Unified Program in the late summer early fall.
BUT YOUR TRUE DEDICATION IS WITH YOUR FAMILY, COULD YOU INTRODUCE THEM AND SHARE A LITTLE ABOUT THEM?
The love of my life is my amazing wife Erin (yes, we are Aaron and Erin). I'm the person I am today because of her love and support. Erin is a Certified Nursing Assistant for our amazing son Graham, as well as a jazzercise instructor and office manager for a local landscape company. Erin is an incredible mother to our son and her determination and fierceness to fight for what our son needs on a daily basis never ceases to impress me.
Our son Graham was born with an incredibly rare genetic condition called L1-Syndrome. It's a genetic mutation of the L1CAM gene, and as part of it, he has a multitude of challenges and diagnoses like epilepsy, hydrocephalus and muscle spasticity. As you can imagine that comes with a lot of equipment and appointments to help manage these conditions as he grows. While he may not be able to speak verbally, he is the most expressive kid, his sense of humor and sweetness is unmatched for those that take the time to really see it. For all the medical procedures and things he's had to deal with in his 15 years, he could absolutely be a grumpy, angry, upset guy, but that just isn't him. He is so tough and resilient and funny and smarter than people give him credit for.
Any memories that involve being with my wife and son are my favorite. But seeing Graham light up at being in the garage with me, or at car shows and race events we attend is truly special. He is a car kid through and through, handling cross-country road trips just to sit at a race track, or in a parking lot checking out old cars like his dad.
Kids in general are adaptive to change, but special needs kids are resilient to a body and brain that doesn't always work the way they want it to. Graham in particular has to constantly adapt and overcome daily physical challenges along with the everyday challenges of being a teenager. Every day he has to work to be understood by others - mom and dad included! No matter what, his attitude is still loving, caring and affectionate towards others. He has taught us immense patience with ourselves. So much of our life is uncertain or unknown, and Graham has taught us to really zero in on the important things and people in life.
You have to take it one day at a time! There will be good days and bad days for sure, and sometimes there will be more bad days than good. You have to focus on the good, or the bad will drag you under. Find something you enjoy doing that doesn't take you away from the family. In my case, working on classic cars in my own garage is my way to de-stress. You have to find ways to keep your sanity, and staying busy with a project always helps.
