It’s another beautiful summer in Colorado, where bbqing, pool days and vacations are calling our names. After our meetings, Joan likes to go on walks with her dog, Makena. Our team gets inspired in the summers. We also rest well with our loved ones.
Jeni enjoys taking her dogs to the beach, going to concerts and riding her motorcycle! Joan loves to paddleboard. I find inspiration visiting new coffee shops, paddleboarding and going on long walks. Abby and her family head up to the mountains on the weekends. She says, “Keystone holds my heart and Loveland Pass is one of my favorite places ever.” (Loveland Pass is what inspired our cover this month!) And Kristen enjoys her own vacation time with her boys, saying, “It’s the only time we can travel with our soccer boys!”
We’re all adventuring in our own ways and enjoying the season. I hope this summer inspires you to slow down a little bit, take some days off and enjoy special moments all over town and across our beautiful Rockies, making memories.
When we think of “exploring,” we see an array of stories and believe finding adventure encapsulates all sorts of emotions. From competitive sports and family fun with Alloy Personal Training owners, Brian and Jamie, to heartfelt journeys about finding community and healing with The Women’s Adventure Club, owner, Kaylene Macias, we try to spark your imagination no matter where you find yourself this summer.
From dazzling venues to mountain getaways and luxury resorts, may this summer be filled with just the right experiences. Let’s make space for the unexpected and the unexplored, and remember that it’s often in these moments that the richest connections are formed.
Happy exploring!

Tara Singapuri is a goat enthusiast and owner of the Double S Ranch in Conifer, Colorado, where she runs her business, Guided Goat Hikes. Initially, it was just Tara and her goats hiking the trails, but intrigued humans wanted to participate, and her business exploded. “They are smart animals and bond well with people,” she explains. Goats use eye contact to connect with people, are intuitive about human emotions and are curiously playful. Tara has about 40 goats, ranging from 5 to 200 pounds.

ECLECTICNESS HIT THE TRAILS WITH CUTE COMPANIONS IN CONIFER,
Guided Goat Hikes offers a 60-minute public group hike for $35 per person, a 90-minute private hike for up to nine people for $60 per person and a three-hour hike at Reynolds Park Peak with Alpine Goats, which weigh around 200 pounds, for $100 per hiker.
“The Alpines are incredible animals. They love hiking and being with people,” Tara says.
“I start a hike by meeting people at a trailhead with the goats packed and ready to go,” she explains about the hiking process. “We provide water and goat packs for people to store their belongings. I give out goat treat bags and we set off on the trail. Some hikes are only a mile or two but can take 60 minutes. The goats like to munch occasionally, grabbing leaves or pine needles along the trail. They move slowly, but people enjoy themselves; it’s calming, and the vibes on the trail are great because other hikers are excited to see us. I take pictures and videos and give them to everyone at the end. It’s a great experience! I think it’s good for people to experience something they can’t in their normal lives.”
“Their distinctive personalities really come out on the trail!” Tara laughs. Rouge, a pack goat, is tightly bonded with Tara. “She always wants to be at the front with me. I can’t even get two feet behind her; she just stops walking!”
Another goat named Nugget is a playful Nigerian Dwarf goat with crystal blue eyes and a chicken nugget-colored coat. He is a popular host at Goat Happy Hour. Then there’s Targaryen, an

The inspiration for this painting is likened to the expression when someone walks into the room and says,“Ta-Dah!”It is like,“Here I am!”It is very expressive, dynamic, and full of fanfare. It has pizzazz to it. For this painting, I wanted to have the Ta-Dah feeling, but because of the harmony within the piece, it wasn’t just one person doing the Ta-Dah. It was the entirety of the whole doing it. It was all the connections that made the Ta-Dah so dynamic. It is the power of the group or the power of the supporting characters working together that makes it what it is. In the end, the dynamic connections make the entrance so dramatic.

Owners of Alloy Personal Training, Brian and Jamie Share Their Activities and Adventures With Their Two Boys
ARTICLE BY CASSANDRA GREEN | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ABBY WATKINS
Alloy Personal Training has found roots in Parker and owners Brian and Jamie Totah are full of vision, passion and big dreams for their business and family. Having lived in Parker for two years, their goal is to build relationships and community in an industry that impacts people.
“Alloy is a family-friendly business,” Jamie shares. “Health needs to be number one. If you don’t put your health first, then how are you going to provide for your family? How will you take care of your kids, your parents, live a
longer life and be happier? The first step is getting yourself in the door and putting yourself first.”
For them, staying active is a lifestyle. With Brian’s experience in retail and Jamie’s medical background in kinesiology, launching Alloy was an intentional connection to their passions. For them, it’s about staying connected and active as a family.
Jamie grew up playing basketball and Brian enjoyed tennis. Being active and competitive has always been part of who they are. These days, baseball gets their family outdoors and traveling.
“Our oldest is nine. He is very obsessed with baseball. He wants to be an MLB player when he grows up, so our family tradition is, every year, we try and hit at least one baseball stadium or two. Both of our kids have a big map in their room where they mark where they’ve been,” Jamie explains proudly.
Brian adds, “This year, we’re going to Maryland, so we’re gonna go see the Baltimore Orioles in their stadium. At every stadium, we

HOW I FOUND MYSELF AGAIN—AND HELPED OTHERS DO THE SAME
It started the day I became a mom, 10 years ago.
Night after night, nightmares about my worst fear, watching my infant daughter slip away in front of me. I couldn’t save her. I just stood there helpless, as it happened again and again. I’d wake up gasping, only to fall asleep and right back into the nightmare.
I never told my doctor about it. I didn’t think anyone could fix it.
The second sign came three years later, after my son was born. The nurse placed him on my chest and I felt ... nothing. No joy. No warmth. No love. Just hollow detachment. Over time, it grew into resentment and I quietly blamed my baby for how broken I felt inside. I didn’t tell a soul, terrified that if I said the truth out loud, people would think I was heartless.
Maybe I was.
After having my third child, the nightmares came back with a vengeance. Night became a maze with no way out.
And the days? Even worse.
Physical touch sent me into a panic. I couldn’t hold my children. Intrusive thoughts whispered inside my mind. I was trapped inside a mind that was no longer mine.
One afternoon, my sister stopped by and saw through the mask I had been wearing. She recognized the signs of a mental health crisis, signs I didn’t even fully understand myself. I had been hiding so much, even from my husband. I felt ashamed, confused and terrified of what the truth might say about me. But when my sister asked if I was OK, something cracked open. I broke down and told her everything: the nightmares, the panic, the numbness, the unbearable distance I felt from my kids.
She held my hand and calmly called a mental health hotline. I got professional help that day.
It didn’t fix everything, but at that moment, I wasn’t alone anymore. And the shame started melting away.
I was diagnosed with postpartum psychosis. My doctor gave me three challenges: Go to the gym to exercise. Spend time in the sunshine. Build your support network. It sounded so simple. But it wasn’t, not for someone still struggling just to get out of bed.
I had an idea: What if I combined all three? What if I invited women to exercise outside with me? I found eight women online willing to meet once a week. That meetup became the one day I got out of bed and felt like myself again.
After a few months, something incredible happened. I started smiling more. I started getting ready every morning. I gained control of my thoughts. Sunshine, exercise and friendship were making a difference.
There was one moment when I realized just how much of an impact. It was late at night, and one of my kids crawled into bed to snuggle with me. And for the first time in months, I didn’t panic. I didn’t pull away.
I held my son. I finally felt that love I’d been missing for so long.
That moment was the turning point. I realized getting outside, moving and connecting wasn’t just a challenge from my doctor: It was a lifeline. And if sunshine, movement, and connection could do all that for me, I knew I needed to help others experience the same healing. I became determined to turn my little club into something bigger, something to help hundreds of women feel better.
CONTINUED >
So I got to work alongside incredible women like Anne Sevilla, Michele Gratt, Kelly Phillips and Ana DiStasio, who gave their time, hearts and energy to build something new and long overdue for the women in our community.
Fast-forward 18 months. We’ve just celebrated the oneyear anniversary of The Women’s Adventure Club. We’re a nonprofit that offers countless opportunities to get outside, move your body and build a support network.
The trifecta of sunshine, movement and connection is at the heart of every event we host.
Sunshine lifts your mood and helps reset your nervous system.
Movement releases endorphins and eases anxiety.
Connection is the glue: It helps women feel seen, heard, and supported.
That’s why we do what we do. Movement rooted in joy, not judgment, can truly change your life.
In a culture obsessed with exercise as a way to change how you look, we focus on how it makes you feel . For us, getting outside and moving isn’t about speed tests or burning calories. It’s a tool for healing, not a measure of fitness. We are movement for your mental health.
I am so proud of what we’ve created for our community of over 1,300 members! And while my mental health
crisis was incredibly difficult, I’m now grateful for it, because it led me here.
Today, I love my life. I love who I am. I’m confident. I’m proud to be a mom. I hold my head high, take up space and know without a doubt that I can do anything I set my mind to.
And the most rewarding part?
I get to witness that transformation in other women— every single day.
See them rise from self-doubt to boldness, from silence to sisterhood, from barely holding on to fully becoming.
Because when women choose joy, healing and strength, it doesn’t just change them, it changes everything. They become the kind of women who lift others just by being who they are.
That’s the real magic:
Not just surviving, but rising. Not just healing, but homecoming.
So if you’ve been wondering where the real you went…
Come find her.
She’s out here, in the sunshine, on the trail, beside women who will hold space for you until you remember your own strength.
We’re already saving you a spot.
In a culture obsessed with exercise as a way to change how you look, we focus on how it makes you feel. “ ”
