What is common law marriage in Arizona?
Most people believe if you live with a person for a long time, you are, in the eyes of the state, married. However, such instances, known as common law marriage, do not apply everywhere
In short, living together, regardless of the duration or the intent, does not constitute a legal marriage in the eyes of Arizona law
Even though Arizona does not grant common law marriage status to its residents, it does recognize valid common-law marriages from other states under the “Full Faith and Credit Clause” of the U.S. Constitution. In other words, if a couple were deemed legally married under common law in another state and moved to Arizona, their marriage would be legally recognized
For those seeking legal recognition of their relationship without a traditional marriage, there are alternatives in Arizona For example, couples can enter into a civil cohabitation agreement or a domestic partnership agreement.

Lindsay Benjamin, Founder of Benjamin Legal: Family & Divorce LawI can't stop thinking about our cover photoshoot with Grayson Allen.
It was noon on a Saturday and the Suns welcomed us to their training facility to get some exclusive shots of the 3-point master. Graciously, they let me bring my middle son Zaza (short for Zachary), a 9-year-old sports-obsessed kid who idolizes #8.
When Grayson walked out, the magazine owner in me played it cool. However, the mom in me was dying inside knowing my son was about to have a meetand-greet with his beloved Sun.
There was no stopping Za... he met Grayson mid-court and immediately gave him the biggest hug. In turn, Grayson broke the most genuine smile embracing his little fan.
At the end of the shoot, Grayson shot a few baskets with his new little bestie and even answered all of Zaza's questions, like if playing on the court was similar to playing with buddies on the playground, to which G responded: It's a little more serious, but when we pretend we're kids again, we play the best game
As a boy mom X3, we are raising our boys to be good, compassionate people, while also instilling in them inner-strength, discipline and a work ethic. I want my babies to morph into real men, like Grayson, and embody everything a real man should be. I also find it important to surround our boys with role models, many of whom are featured in our Men's issue.
This issue is full of guys giving back, like Larry Fitzgerald continuing his mom's legacy. It's full of guys rebranding themselves, like Brad Perry. Inspirational guys like pro golfer Joel Dahmen, who overcame cancer. Like Sean Murphy-Bunting, who takes pride in flaunting his fashionable side. And like a handful of esteemed Valley men who offered their insight on defining success- it's a really neat read.
Here's to our Arizona men who move the Valley, provide for their families, and tirelessly juggle work and personal life. Here's to my kids' coaches- the men that make a positive impact in their lives. Here's to the kind-hearted athletes who appreciate their mini fans with the biggest hearts. Here's to the men who dedicate their time to pay it forward through philanthropy. And here’s to the dads celebrating Father’s Day this month, especially my husband, our rock. You fathers are seen, appreciated and loved.

Get to know Suns Guard Grayson Allen off the Court
Two, threeeeeeee is music to Grayson Allen’s ears.
The king of 3-pointers is sticking around the Valley after signing a four-year, $70 million contract extension with the Phoenix Suns.
However, while the pro player is fire on the court, he’s a soft, humble, kind soul at heart. We know this because we got to spend an afternoon with the Suns guard hanging around their training facility off Camelback.
The Suns superstar is as down-to-earth as they come, and it was a joy, honor and privilege to have a down-to-earth convo with #8, the great.
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE STAYING WITH THE SUNS?
It feels great. I am happy to be here and be part of this team. It’s a great organization, and an awesome place to live.
ARE YOU LIVING YOUR DREAM?
It’s surreal. The afternoon I signed the contract, I couldn’t stop thinking how lucky we are, how grateful we are, and how blessed we are because we’re in an incredible situation.
LOOKING BACK OVER THE SEASON, WHAT’S BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE GAME?
It was a comeback game against Sacramento. We were down 20, with five minutes left. We had a crazy comeback, and it was the loudest I ever heard. Just so crazy- the crowd went nuts.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PREGAME RITUALS BEFORE YOU HIT THE COURT?
I have the same routine every game day. I take a nap, head to the arena, do treatment time and always eat the same meal... usually salmon or steak with potatoes and broccoli. Then I go to our team chapel an hour before the game. After that, it’s go time.
BEING FAIRLY NEW TO ARIZONA, FANS INSTANTLY EMBRACED YOU, KIDS IDOLIZE YOU, AND THE CROWD GOES WILD WHEN YOU SINK 3S. HOW DOES IT ALL FEEL?
It feels awesome. In the NBA, this is probably the most loved and the most accepted I have ever felt from a fan base. It doesn’t go unnoticed by me; I really appreciate it. It’s a cool reminder and a cool thing whenever you run through the tunnel and kids are wearing your jersey wanting autographs.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED IN BASKETBALL THAT WILL CARRY YOU FOREVER?
Basketball has taught me to stay level-headed. When things go wrong, I’ve learned there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve learned to not get too high and mighty, lose sight or lose focus.
WHAT’S YOUR WORKOUT REGIMEN?
One thing I consistently do is lift heavy after games. I like to do deadlifts squats and feel it helps ease pain and recovery.
WHO HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCE IN YOUR CAREER?
My coach at Duke. He shaped me into landing the NBA.
YOU MET YOUR WIFE AT DUKE. WAS IT LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?
We started off as friends, but I kind of knew the whole time, though, that I wanted to date her. Morgan was special.
She’s an athlete and a go-getter. Very on top of things, funny and has a great personality. Morgan is all the things I lack and picks up the slack for me.
WOULD YOU AND MORGAN RATHER GO OUT TO EAT OR COOK AT HOME?
Most of the time we cook at home – she does the cooking and makes a variety of potatoes. They’re sliced and stuffed with cream cheese or sour cream. I love them.
SO, THE WAY TO YOUR HEART IS POTATOES. WHAT’S YOUR IDEAL DATE?
We like seeing movies, hiking, taking our dogs out and day tripping to the lake.
DO YOU PLAN ON HAVING A FAMILY AT SOME POINT?
Definitely.
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE.
I keep it simple. I have about seven sweatsuits I rotate, and that’s my “walk into the game” outfit. And then 99% of the time I’m wearing bands; simple old school bands.
ANY REASON YOU’RE #8?
I’ve been #3 for most of my career, but that’s taken, so 8 it was.
BEST ADVICE.
My Duke coach always said that everything you do is important because you’re doing it.
THE SEASON DIDN’T END YOUR WAY BEING INJURED AND NOT PROGRESSING IN THE PLAYOFFS. WHAT DO YOU HOPE MOVING FORWARD?
I really believe we can win a championship and I’m proud of the team we’ve built. I know we can do special things together.
WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I’m a slight computer nerd, like a tech nerd. I know a lot about computers and PCs and how technology works. In fact, I built a PC by myself a few years ago.
SO, IF BASKETBALL DOESN’T WORK OUT, IS THAT YOUR PLAN B?
I don’t know if it’s a good plan B, but I have one.
“I PLAY BEST WHEN MY MIND IS CLEAR. I PLAY OFF INSTINCT AND ANTICIPATION.”

What this Famed PT Tells Pro Athletes About Preventing Pain
Dr. Adam Loiacono comes from 15+ years working with professional sports organizations, most recently as the Director of Rehabilitation with the Phoenix Suns.
As “team PT,” the non-stop hustle was thrilling for Dr. Loiacono who played a small but mighty role in the success of many athletes. According to the esteemed physical therapist, “The players have an extreme level of competitiveness and their desire to constantly improve was second to none.”
Fans don’t often realize a pro athlete’s livelihood depends on their ability to maintain an insane degree of physical health. Whether it was providing rehab during an injury or coaching them through performance training, Dr. Loiacono was always there to maximize player availability and help them achieve their goals.
After transitioning from working with the Suns, Dr. Loiacono now runs Loiacono Performance Therapy, offering his expertise to optimize performance and enhance longevity among those who crave it. As part of 360 complete care, he services all degrees of physical therapy and performance training.
We asked Dr. Loiacono four pain prevention tips he gives pro athletes and those living an athletic lifestyle. Here’s what he said.
1. 80/20 rule: 80% of the time, the basics are what you need. Although the basics may seem boring, they provide the biggest bang for your buck. There’s a reason why the basics have withstood the test of time and fitness fads come and go. The other 20% leans into what you enjoy such as infrared therapy, alternative medicine, or advanced technology. With anything, consistency is key.
2. Strength is imperative. Everyone wants to jump higher and sprint faster, so we instantly want to do cliché sexy, fun activities. However, strength is, in fact, the foundation for all athletic movements. It is also one of the
strongest predictors for both increasing lifespan and decreasing risk for injury. If you’re not strong, you are not laying the foundation for injury prevention.
3. Pay attention to detail. This is what prospective Hall of Famers obsess with. It’s amazing how subtle details in executing a particular exercise or being attentive during physical therapy can make the biggest difference. Going through the motions without respecting the details can lead you down a path of pain.
4. Understand the difference between fatigue, soreness, and pain. These body signals are similar yet different. Fatigue tells us we have run out of energy and cannot complete the activity. Soreness is a warning signal that we may have done too much activity. Pain is the danger sign telling us enough is enough. Fatigue leads to soreness which could lead to pain. Recognize and listen to the early signs before it’s too late.
Dr. Adam Loiacono, PT, DPT, CSCS utilizes a variety of manual therapy, corrective exercise, dry needling, and cupping. His methods for performance training programs utilize cutting edge technology such as force plates, VO2 max testing, resting metabolic rate testing, and more. He offers concierge at-home and in-studio sessions. Limited exclusive memberships are available. adamloiacono.com

Success, as a luxury real estate agent, transcends mere transactions. It embodies a legacy of exceeding client expectations, crafting unparalleled experiences, and redefining industry standards. It’s about cultivating enduring relationships, understanding unique desires, and curating bespoke solutions. For me and my agency, success lies in the artistry of architecture, the mastery of negotiation, and the orchestration of seamless transactions. It’s measured not just by sales figures, but by the enduring impact felt by our clients.

Success is a chase. I’m an eternal optimist who always feels that God inspires. Follow the inspiration and that gets you closer. If there’s ultimate success, then for me it’s from my family — my wife, Stacey, and our kids. Physically, mentally, spiritually... it’s all cooking at a high heat... and that is more important than fame or material wealth. Success is having the freedom to spend time on what truly provides a sense of fulfillment. For some, that could be achieving business or financial goals, while for others, it could simply be spending time with family. The richness of life lies in striking a balance between family, health, and work. Together, my wife and I raised five children while building an exceptional medical practice devoted to returning patients to the active lifestyles they love; a passion we see echoed in our own lives on the hiking trail, a morning run or laughing with family and friends. I define success as being able to have a fulfilling professional life where you are doing something you love and making a difference in other people’s lives, while still allowing balance and flexibility to spend meaningful time with family and friends.
I try not to personalize success. I just try to remain grateful and humble. The successes I’ve been part of always involve many others. I have a deep sense of gratitude for my mentors. I also have an overwhelming sense of pride for the team and culture I’m a part of here in the Valley. At this stage in my life and career, it’s more about helping younger culinar ians achieve their goals and celebrating their successes.

Success, to me, is a balance between professional achievement and personal/family fulfillment. Growing up, my parents always tried to instill three keys to success: do your best, do what’s right, and treat others as you want to be treated. These have been part of my success criteria throughout my time as a Naval Officer, as a family man, and at Cullum Homes. True success lies where career accomplishments are enriched by the love and support of family.

Success is like a well-crafted TV show - it doesn’t happen overnight, and there’s always a blooper reel behind the scenes. While the spotlight shines on the polished final product, few see the late nights, the coffee-fueled brainstorming sessions, and the hours of content on the cutting room floor. I believe success is realized during the journey; it’s about embracing the chaos, laughing at the mishaps, and knowing that the show must go on - just like Breaking Par.

Did you know that carrier screening is recommended for all people who are planning to start a family? Carrier screening can assess the status of the parents to see if they are a “carrier” for a disorder. A great example is cystic fibrosis. In fact, if both the mother and the father are “carriers” for cystic fibrosis they can have a 25% chance of having a child with cystic fibrosis.

INSIDE THE ARCADIA CAR COLLECTOR’S DREAMY GARAGE THAT HOUSES HIS FOURWHEELED BELOVED BABIES
PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF HIGHLINE AUTOS
It’s Disneyland for dads; the ultimate man-cave, featuring a big bar, upper mezzanine, solid sound system, and even a guest bedroom, full bath, and kitchen.
Oh, and it’s also stocked with a massive car collection that’s downright priceless to him.
“We drive everything in here at least every 10 days, unless they are mounted on the walls. Some things can’t be driven simply because of rarity,” said Mike Lovell, the Valley based husband, dad, custom car builder and collector.
“When I was a kid, we were always working on cars and going to car shows. Now, my girls are really into it; in fact, my oldest races professionally in the Toyota GR Cup Series.”
Any onlooker would find Lovell’s garage surreal. His custom-built showroom is a guy’s dreamland, and it neighbors his massive workshop.
“We have a shop next door where we build cars and bikes. We’ve bought things in boxes that have taken years to put back together. We’re getting ready to build a 1978 Trans Am with a crate motor and Roadster Shop chassis.”
Lovell has a pure love for his ’69 Camaro as part of what he dubs his “blue collar collection” of vintage and contemporary cars and motorcycles. His 10,000-square-foot standalone car barn houses his prized possessions.
“I have a unique GSXR that was never sold in the United States, Europe only. I have two GSXRs that are limited edition; they only made 500 total in the world. One of my babies is an original 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 with 26,000 original miles. It’s the holy grail of cars because it changed the course of automotive history.”
His eclectic collection includes his oldest car, a rare 1932 Packard; a 2014 1,800-mile Aston Martin Vanquish; and a 1920 Indian.
“I still have my first car, a ’67 Camaro we got when I was 14 years old. It did not look like it does now; it was white, rusted out and total junk. It’s one of my babies for sure.”
The car connoisseur says he’s not trying to collect anything specific; it’s simply a room full of cars he loves and drives regularly.
“On one of my Hummers, our team installed a supercharged LT1, putting out about 800 horsepower. My other Hummer was used by the military.”
And the luxe cars live in luxury. Lovell’s swoonworthy man-cave is utterly awesome, flaunting a big bar, comfy seating, and a floating mezzanine with TVs. The entire setup is climate controlled through six air-conditioning systems.
“My favorite thing is anything I drove last, although our ‘67 Corvette means a lot to me because we’ve had this car since my wife and I were young and broke.”
Mike and his wife Stacy live with their three children in a home on an additional five acres separated from the garage. Their property also flaunts a dirt bike track and skateboard park built for their oldest daughter, a top-ranked competitor.
“You make up for things you didn’t have as a kid, and you get to a point in life where you can have them. It’s rewarding and fulfilling.”

As the sun’s rays intensify and AZ temps soar, it’s crucial for dog owners to understand and adhere to the regulations outlined in City Code Section 8-3.08. This law is designed to safeguard our canine companions from the hazards of extreme heat.
FIRST, LET’S DEFINE SOME TERMS:
• Collar: Refers to a specialized dog collar constructed from materials like nylon, leather, or metal.
• Extreme (hot) Weather Conditions: When the temperature goes above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It also includes heat advisories and monsoon.
• Owner: Encompasses individuals who possess, own, or have custody or control of a dog.
• Properly Fitted: Describes a collar that’s tailored to the dog’s neck circumference plus one inch.
• Restraint: Encompasses ropes, tethers, leashes, cables, or similar devices, excluding chains, used to attach a dog to a stationary object or trolley system.
According to this law, dog owners are prohibited from using choke collars, pinch collars, or restraints that excessively limit a dog’s movements during extreme weather conditions.
A restraint is deemed excessive if it:
1. Utilizes an ill-fitting collar.
2. Is shorter than ten feet in length.
3. Puts the dog in unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
4. Inflicts harm on the dog.
5. Denies the dog constant access to food, water, shade, dry ground, or adequate shelter.
6. Penalties for Violations: Holding Dog Owners Accountable
THE CITY CODE DOESN’T TAKE VIOLATIONS LIGHTLY, PARTICULARLY WHEN A DOG’S SAFETY IS AT STAKE:
> First Offense: Those found responsible for violating Section B of the law could face a minimum fine of $250.
> Second Offense: A second conviction under Section B escalates the consequences to a Class 1 misdemeanor. This entails a jail term of at least 48 hours and a fine not less than $1,000.
> Third Offense: For a third conviction under Section B, the penalties become more severe. A Class 1 misdemeanor in this case translates to a jail sentence of no less than 15 consecutive days and a fine amounting to a minimum of $2,000.
IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: IT’S CRUCIAL TO NOTE THAT THOSE WHO ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES SPECIFIED IN SECTION B(2) ARE NOT IN VIOLATION OF SECTION 8-14(A) OF THE CODE.
Understanding and abiding by Phoenix City Code Section 8-3.08 is pivotal in ensuring the safety of our beloved four-legged companions during extreme heat. Joel Dahmen is known for wearing a floppy hat alongside his sidekick/caddie Geno. He’s also known for beating cancer and crushing his golf game. We caught up with the guy who says taking life seriously is overrated... and instead values savoring the precious present, along with savoring great food.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM THE PGA TOUR?
Playing with Tiger is something I’ll never forget.
WHAT ARE 3 “TRICKS OF THE TRADE” YOU PRACTICE ON THE GREEN?
Find the low spot on the green; distance > direction; and consistent routine is crucial for everything... and sticking to it.
“Life is short. There are many people that are far too serious, and there’s a time for that, but you ultimately must prioritize perspective.”
WHAT INITIALLY SPARKED YOUR LOVE FOR GOLF?
My parents. They were passionate about the game.
WHAT WERE YOUR CAREER ASPIRATIONS AS A KID?
I wanted to be a pro basketball player, but I guess golf will do. We are athletes, too!
YOU WERE DIAGNOSED WITH TESTICULAR CANCER. WHAT GOT YOU THROUGH YOUR JOURNEY?
The news hit hard, especially since it took my mom and my brother had it as well. But Lona, my wife, was my rock. It put in perspective what I wanted out of life- a marriage and family.
YOU SAY YOU LIKE TO SHARE YOUR STORY. IN SHORT, WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
There were a lot of bad days, a lot of good days, and a lot of days in-between. I’ve been a consistent player on the Tour for six years now. I have won out here. I’m living a dream. Not many kids get this far. I’ve got the best team in the world, and I’m thankful for it. The story is work hard and surround yourself with great people.
EXPLAIN “THE HAT.”
I partnered with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Travis Mathew to do my part to end cancer. A portion of every hat sale goes directly to the Dahmen Family Foundation.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A DAD...
Oh man... everything! Riggs is such a great baby, and I get to live life through the eyes of a kid again.
BIGGEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED SINCE BECOMING A DAD.
You don’t own your time! Haha.
BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF FATHERHOOD... SO FAR. Having the responsibility of another human.
FAVE COURSE YOU EVER PLAYED.
Sheep Ranch in Bandon is unreal.
DREAM COURSE.
One I design with my buddies.
HARDEST COURSE.
The Country Club at Brookline (2022 US OPEN).
RUMOR HAS IT YOU HAVE A SUPERSTITION NEVER TO MARK A BALL WITH A QUARTER... TRUE?
I wouldn’t say I’m SUPERstitious, just a little “stitious.” However, I always keep 3 tees in my pocket.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE BEING PART OF “FULL SWING” ON NETFLIX?
It was an awesome, life-changing experience. I am thankful they gave me the opportunity to share my story.
WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I’m a season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken. I love hockey and am so bummed the Yotes left even though I’m sure they’ll be back.

Dominick’s Hosts a Delectable Dining Experience in Support of The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation
Valley legend Larry Fitzgerald may be retired from football, but he’s still making plays off the field. The former Cardinal started the The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation nearly two decades ago in honor of his mother who lost her battle with breast cancer during his college years.
“I wouldn’t be here or have the mindset to do this if it wasn’t for my mom,” shared Fitzgerald on the red carpet at his 14th Annual Fitz’s Supper Club hosted by Dominick’s Steakhouse.
We snagged a spot on the red carpet of the exclusive dinner that supports youth education and breast cancer awareness. Guests in attendance included Waste Management CEO John Miller; NASCAR’s Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey; Arizona Cardinals Owner Michael Bidwill; Arizona Cardinals Offensive Lineman Kelvin Beachum, and more.
Meet the new Cardinals Cornerback, Sean Murphy-Bunting.
The Superbowl Champion is pumped to call the Valley of the Sun home, hoping to score big on the football field. However, the famed athlete has another passion in addition to playing defense. In fact, you might refer to him as a football fashionista.
“I’ve always liked fashion. Now, as a pro athlete, I constantly have cameras on me, so it gives me a bigger stage to showcase my style and I value looking and feeling good,” said Murphy-Bunting.
Yep, this guy can run the field and rock the runway thanks to his passion for fashion.
We caught up with the pro player about his personal style vibe off the field.

“FASHION ALLOWS ME TO EXPRESS MYSELF WITHOUT BEING VERBAL. FANS WHO HAVE NEVER MET ME CAN FEEL MY PERSONALITY.”
WILL THE SWITCH FROM NASHVILLE TO ARIZONA CHANGE HOW YOU CHOOSE YOUR HOME GAME OUTFIT?
Maybe a little because I can’t layer up like I did in Nashville. With that being said, I determine style not by where I’m at, but by how I’m feeling that day. I let things unfold naturally.
HOW WILL YOU INCORPORATE NASHVILLE FASHION INTO AZ?
My color pallets will be similar. My color schemes are black and earth tones.
AS A PRO ATHLETE, WHAT SPARKED YOUR EYE FOR STYLE?
I love that fashion allows me to express myself without being verbal. Fans who have never met me can feel my personality. It’s a reflection of who I am. It helps me feel confident, and I also enjoy it.
DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE- BOTH IN FASHION AND IN LIFE.
I’m laid back and not too flashy.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS FOR STYLING YOUR OUTFITS?
It usually starts with how I’m feeling and the weather. Most importantly, I start with picking out my shoes and build my outfit around that.
ANY FASHION ICONS YOU LOOK AT FOR INSPIRATION?
Not really, but I sometimes admire random people who I spot with unique style.
FAVORITE DESIGNERS? BRANDS? COLOR SCHEMES?
Louis Vuitton, Bottega, YSL, Prada. With that being said, I like what I like; labels and brands really don’t really matter to me. I love to thrift for unique pieces.
WHAT’S YOUR GET-READY REGIME LIKE?
Nothing out of the ordinary, but I like listening to music while getting ready. CONTINUED >
Former Tennessee Titan CB Sean Murphy-Bunting is trading Nashville for State 48, making a move to the Arizona Cardinals. Having established a name for himself on and off the field as a charismatic, hard-working, fun-loving, fashion-forward, and charitable young man, Murphy-Bunting maintains an underdog mentality. Despite his athletic success and impressive title – Superbowl Champion – the cornerback works hard to represent himself, his family, and his community devoting much of his free time doing charity work alongside his mother, Kim Murphy.
Both Kim and her son started Successful Jocks, an organization set to inspire, motivate, and empower student athletes equipping them with the tools, resources and support needed to become successful in the game of life. As President of Successful Jocks, Murphy-Bunting serves as a role model and SJ Ambassador for the organization.
Murphy-Bunting has mentored young athletes, uplifted women in sports, hosted field trips, sponsored shopping sprees, and celebrated birthdays and Christmas with foster children, ensuring they all had gifts. Not only is it MurphyBunting’s goal to win on the football field, but also win in the game of life.

FAVORITE THING IN YOUR CLOSET.
Shoes, followed by accessories. To me, shoes make the outfit.
TOP FASHION SPLURGE.
Definitely a watch, for sure.
AS A FASHION BUFF, HOW OFTEN DO YOU SPORT YOUR BUCS SUPERBOWL RING?
To be honest, I’ve never worn it out in public. However, I admit to wearing it around the house when I first got it. It was a great feeling.
WHY ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO MOVE TO AZ?
I’m excited about my new job, giving God all the glory for blessing me with this new opportunity. However, I’m mostly excited about making a difference in the community through our charity, Successful Jocks.
WHAT IS SUCCESSFUL JOCKS?
Successful Jocks is our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to propelling the lives of student athletes. I started this organization alongside my mom, Kim Murphy. My mom is my best friend, my rock, my daily inspiration. I am so proud to work with her.
RUMOR HAS IT YOUR INITIALS, SMB, DOUBLES AS AN ACRONYM. CAN YOU EXPLAIN?
Many fans assume “SMB” is an acronym for my name Sean Murphy-Bunting, and it is. But it’s so much more. “SMB” is an acknowledgement that so many blessings have been bestowed on me, and I use this as an opportunity to help others.
WHAT KIND OF GUY ARE YOU OFF THE FIELD?
I’m a humble guy who loves God, my family, and my community. I strive to be the best in everything I do, both professionally and personally.
WHAT DO YOU PLAN AND HOPE TO BRING TO THE CARDS?
I’m really excited to be in Arizona and plan on bringing a strong work ethic, a winning attitude, leadership, and enthusiasm to the team.
FAVORITE NFL MEMORY SO FAR...
Winning the Superbowl - without a doubt.
IN HONOR OF FATHER’S DAY, ANY REFLECTION ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR DAD?
My father has always driven me to be the hardworking man I am today. He encouraged discipline, fundamental, and structure in a way only a father knows how. He helped me understand that hard work is earned. In order to be great, he taught me to show up and put in the work consistently day in and day out. Waking up at 6am as a kid, going to the baseball field and batting cages, instilled in me that blue collar work ethic.
David Leden owns Groove Mobile DJs. He’s the guy behind the turntable at Arizona Cardinals games and flaunts a star-studded clientele including Larry Fitzgerald, Patrick Peterson, Kurt Warner, Carson Palmer, and many MLB players. In addition, he has opened for dozens of Hip Hop Artists and EDM acts like Calvin Harris and the late DJ AM, as well as working with musicians like Phillip Phillips, Kane Brown and more.
“I took an interest in DJing at the age of 12. It all started with a Radio Shack mixer and some inexpensive turntables,” said Leden.
David has always loved music, preferring controlling the party rather than being the life of the party. And landing the DJ gig with the Cardinals has been a dream come true.
“We’ve been with the Cards since 2018. The players put tons of thought into their walkout music and warmup selections. Drake is definitely a favorite with current rap in heavy rotation.”
For the 2023 Super Bowl NFL owner’s party, David opened and closed for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, reflecting an utterly surreal experience.
“The camaraderie back stage was amazing. Gwen and Blake are both extremely down to earth and hilarious.”
According to the music-spinning specialist, David says a great DJ can read their audience on the spot. There’s an art to building energy on the dance floor and slowing down the tempo when need be.
The A-list Cardinals DJ Entertaining Celebs All Over the Valley
“The most requested songs often change, but lately it’s all about Taylor Swift. I try to find cool remixes.”
As for the most overplayed song, David says most clients are hip and don’t want their event to feel like a middle school dance.
“Personally, I think ‘Mr. Brightside’ has become the ‘Sweet Caroline’ of modern day.”
To pump things up, David offers party enhancements including DJ furniture, CO2 cannons, cold sparklers, disco balls, dancing on the clouds, TV displays, full color laser shows, concert style lighting, and even snow or bubbles.
“I still wake up at 2am with creative music ideas. I am constantly thinking about how I can raise the DJ bar.”

I never thought at 55 years old, with 30+ years of being on television and Emmy Awards, that I would have to rebrand myself.
But here I am.
Back in the day, it was all about your track record. Today, it’s about followers and likes. Yet, I unapologetically want in on the online claim to fame.
Us TV people have interesting personalities. We are obsessively curious, creative, and rely on external stimuli, such as people or excitement, to be happy. I accept that I’m adamant about continuing my journey in media’s constant evolution through social media. Dubbing myself an “Unofficial Brand Ambassador,” I’m posting about brands I like such as Mark Wahlberg’s company Municipal.
Here are three things I’ve learned about rebranding in my middle age:
1. Read. I favor “The Power of Now” and “You are a Badass.”
2. With experience, I’ve learned to listen, helping me gain a clearer perspective of myself and what people want.
3. As much as I strive to be an overnight sensation, creating a legitimate platform takes patience.
As for now, I’m challenging myself. In fact, I’m training to be an underwear model and tracking my journey via an Instagram “docugram” @unofficialbrandambassador.

As a photographer with over 700 magazine covers to his name (including the one you’re reading now), James Patrick has been creating imagery that sells other brands for over two decades. Patrick is an award winning photographer, best selling author, entrepreneur coach, podcast host, studio owner and public speaker... and even with his impressive resume, Patrick’s driving force is pursuing the thrill of what comes next.
“After any image has been created, there is an immediate curiosity and desire to develop what comes next. I view entrepreneurship the same way,” says Patrick.
Patrick takes pride keeping his businesses thriving as they grow, but that doesn’t mean building businesses has always come easy. In fact, it’s the obstacles—and finding ways to overcome them— that makes his brand even stronger.
In business, Patrick embraces what he fears the most. For him, that means having the courage to launch a product before he feels fully ready. Patrick holds his work to the highest standard, so determining a project is “finished” can be a tall order.
“I’ve learned that an imperfect launch works better than the perfect launch that never happens,” he says.
Patrick uses fear as a launchpad to grow successful businesses. Here’s how you can, too.
Stop waiting. “I had no idea how to be a photographer when I first picked up a camera, but it led me to photographing hundreds of magazine covers.”
Go beyond the neon beer sign and incorporate artwork that reflects your interests and passions This could include memorabilia, travel mementos, or even original artwork by local artists
Create a designated area for entertaining with an elevated home bar Stock it with your favorite high-end spirits, glassware, and bar accessories. Consider adding bar stools or leather club chairs for comfort
You might suck. “The first time I gave a speech, it was collectively cringeworthy for everyone in attendance, but the only way to improve is by doing.”
Confidence is a lie. “It is a fallacy that successful entrepreneurs are brimming with confidence. We’re not more confident over time—we simply have more experience in navigating fear.”
Invest in a cozy sectional where you can unwind after a long day Choose furniture with clean lines and minimal detailing. Invest in full grain leather so it lasts for years to come
Create an outdoor sanctuary perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing Invest in lush landscaping, comfortable seating with all-weather fabric cushions, and add ambiance with outdoor LED lighting
Patrick aims to always create meaningful, captivating work. And while the risk of failure is always there, he believes succeeding is equally possible. He is also the the founder of Get Published LIVE , the Valley’s largest publicity and media casting event, helping hopeful prospects land media gigs. JamesPatrick.com , IG @JPatrickPhoto
