In a sense, we've traveled the globe. From a New York designer to a Syrian tailor, we're giving you a peek into their worlds of fashion. The common thread (pun intended!) is nothing says perfection like a well-fitting outfit or suit. Maybe you'd like something fun with bling or leather and lace? You can find that in our annual fashion spread! Whether you're entertaining at home, poolside or heading out for the evening, we're showcasing a variety of looks from a local award-winning boutique. And speaking of looks, nothing says "WOW!" like a luxury car. Ready for a new sleek 2019 model? Earnhardt Lexus is making its mark in the Valley, and we're lucky enough to have them in our backyard here in the Camelback area.

“
Most doctors do not educate their patients about taking care of their bodies mechanically. As with all mechanical things that are neglected, there is a point of no return with our human bodies. Physical disabilities and many organ malfunctions (dis-ease) are a direct result of past trauma to the body’s biomechanical frame, often culminating in spinal stenosis. Like a car, once the mechanical parts are worn out completely, the result is failure to function. It is imperative to be proactive about your body’s biomechanical structure to maintain or regain good health. Visiting a proficient, specificallytrained Biomechanical Chiropractor when you’re feeling pain is a positive regimen to correct failure to function.

BUON appetito! CULINARY CREATIONS
ARTICLE DANIELLE ACCOVELLI PHOTOGRAPHY CJ GERSHON
TUCKED AWAY ALONG CAMELBACK CORRIDOR, THE PARLOR, WITH ITS MODERN BRICK EXTERIOR, HARDLY LOOKS LIKE AN IMPOSING STRUCTURE. But once situated inside with one of their signature dishes, be prepared to be transported to the height of Italian culinary greatness. Co-founder Aric Mei opened The Parlor in 2009 with one singular culinary vision: to work with honest, fresh and seasonal ingredients and to develop and execute old-world recipes and procedures. True to form, Aric decided to use the entrance walkway to plant an edible garden, ensuring that they always had the freshest ingredients on hand. “Once people started coming, I was amazed at their reactions to that little garden,” he says. That interest hasn’t slowed down either, as The Parlor still boasts bustling crowds for lunch and dinner daily.
PESTO ALLA CHITARRA WITH ROASTED TOMATOES AND TOASTED PINE NUTS FRESH PASTA DOUGH INGREDIENTS: + 3 large eggs, beaten
+ 1 tablespoon olive oil
+ 2 cups all-purpose flour
+ 1 teaspoon kosher salt
DIRECTIONS: 01 Mix eggs, flour, oil and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer with your hands until a shaggy dough forms. 02 Knead with dough hook until dough is smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes. 03 Cover dough with plastic wrap and rest for a minimum of 30 minutes. 04 Cut dough into quarters and use a pasta roller to roll into flat, wide strips. 05 Hand-cut into thin noodles with a sharp knife. 06 Once cut, make single portion-sized piles on a sheet tray and toss with durum or rice flour. Cover with plastic wrap and keep in refrigerator. 14

Tex, who grew up in Southern Texas before moving to Chandler with his family, is known as the cowboy car dealer who rode a bull—which was actually a steer—and for his trademark slogan, “That ain’t no bull.” Today, three generations of family run the company, one of the largest automotive empires in the country selling 16 brands of vehicles: Ford, Dodge, Chrysler Jeep Ram, Lexus, Toyota, GMC, Buick, Hyundai, Genesis, Kia, Volkswagen, Cadillac, Honda, Mazda and Chevy.

This 67,000-square-foot dealership is multi-diversified and provides a luxurious atmosphere that is open, transparent and efficient in order to optimize the customer experience. The showroom displays the latest luxurious Lexus models and takes car shopping to a whole new level where customers are treated likes guests. The layout includes a lounge area, where guests can wait for their car when service or repairs are needed. This spacious area has comfortable seating near the No Bull Café, which serves breakfast, lunch, smoothies and coffee drinks. Lexus vehicles hold their resale value, and attractive leases are available to meet most budgets. The dealership has a licensed certified preowned program which gives two years complimentary warranty and six years unlimited mileage warranty for purchased and leased vehicles. This Lexus dealership has changed the way consumers purchase vehicles and has raised the level of customer service. Once you’ve experienced it, you’ll understand how it earned the Elite of Lexus Award for being a top dealership in the country.

Should I Repair or Replace My A/C Unit? An air conditioning unit is generally the 3rd largest purchase a homeowner will make, so I wanted to share some expert advice on determining when you are spending good or bad money when it comes to your air conditioning unit. Many of the older units were built to last. You could just keep replacing major components and keep your AC running, so the decision to not bite the bigger expense was always justified. After all, a $3,000 repair still sounds better than a $6 to $8,000 new unit. But the best decision that pays off in the long run comes from evaluating several factors.
The Main Factors
I always tell people than when you start to spend more on repairs than you do on maintenance, it is a good time to at least start gathering A/C replacement quotes. Continual problems and repairs are the first sign your unit is creeping towards “end of days”. So at least having time to prepare and not make a hasty and expensive decisions will save you money and stress. Each repair might just be money wasted to buy you more time.
Age is a Key Factor
Next, look at unit age. I talk to people all the time who still have AC units from the 90s and 2000s. Those 20-30 year old units initially were built with a 6-8 SEER, but with age is maybe operating now at a 2-3 SEER. If you were to replace it with a new 14 SEER unit you just gained 7x the energy efficiency. Your AC unit accounts for about 50% of your energy consumption, so that hefty of a SEER increase could easily save around a$1,000 a year on utility bills. Now that $3,000 repair bill doesn’t seem like such a good return on investment anymore, right? Instead you could replace your unit and have the utility savings now and they also pay you more over the next decade. Not to mention you won’t have the headaches and hot house stress with no working AC for a period of time. Tailor- MADE LOCAL’S CHOICE
ARTFUL TAILORING PROVIDES IMPECCABLE FIT ARTICLE KATHLEEN BLAIR PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
FEELING GOOD IN THE CLOTHES YOU
WEAR PROFESSIONALLY, CASUALLY AND FORMALLY SAYS A LOT ABOUT SELFCONFIDENCE. Aladdin Hussein of Artful Tailoring knows all about creating clothes that fit your physique using beautiful fabrics that are durable and comfortable. Aladdin grew up in Syria in a family of tailors. Ever since he was a child, he’d spent his summers learning the trade. He moved to the United States 20 years ago and opened up his first tailor shop in Flagstaff. Aladdin later relocated his business to Chandler and in 2015 opened his second shop at the Biltmore Fashion Park. Aladdin's passion is evident in the one-of-akind designs he creates for his customers. His attention to detail regarding the fit, fabric and the superb craftsmanship he puts into every garment has earned him award recognition. He believes clothing should complement one’s physique. “Commitment to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and most importantly, impeccable craftsmanship makes the solid foundation of our one-of-a-kind, award-winning establishment. We put great care and consideration into crafting each garment. Come see why we are second to none,” he says. TIPS FOR PURCHASING A SUIT 01 Look for suits that are constructed with full canvas instead of fused interfacing. It will last much longer, wear well, and most importantly, keep you cool in the Arizona heat. 02 Learn more about your physique by consulting a tailor before you make a purchase. They

04 Look for natural fibers for your suits such as wool, silk, cotton and linen. A 100 percent wool suit is the best option for everyday suiting as the fabric will release heat and keep you cool. 05 If you can't find an off-the-rack suit that fits well, get a custom one made. Although they cost more than a standard off-the-rack option, think of it as an investment. It will fit much better, and last you for many years. 34
