A Toast to the Gents
As we celebrated the wonderful women in our community in May, it's now the gents turn in June! Be they fathers, brothers, sons, friends in our neighborhoods or in business, we can all think of many men who inspire and support we all individually, and at times collectively.
With Father's Day this month, it gives us pause and time to think about the impact fathers have on their homes and families. The truth is, the role of a father is immeasurable. Fathers shape homes, nurture growth, and provide the foundation upon which children can thrive. And as a dad, the level of impact you choose to have is entirely in your hands.
My dad has been there for every moment - from going on long hikes together at an early age, to cheering at every soccer game, to trips to the Natural Museum of History and exploring the ancient ruins of Pompeii, to that one time when he had me unknowingly turn up to play in a father / son golf tournament (yes, I'll tell you that story another time!).
A father’s gifts are unique and lasting—his presence, his strength, his words, his guidance—all create an impact that ripples through generations. This month, let’s celebrate the fathers and other gents in our lives who shape not only our families, but our broader communities. If you have a father or father figure in your life, let them know how much they matter to you. If you are a dad, thank you. Growing up on job sites alongside my father, I developed a deep respect for the construction industry. I had a love/hate relationship with construction growing up. I picked up trash, dug ditches, swept job sites, and worked long hours in the hot Florida sun, but over time, that labor taught me discipline, pride, and what true craftsmanship looks like. My brother and I weren't handed anything; we earned our way through hard work, and today, I'm proud to be part owner of R.K. Reiman Construction.
Our dad always made sure we focused on perfection. He'd have me sweep every spec of sawdust, clean windows until there were no marks, and walk the sites to make sure they were spotless. That stuck with me. Today, every home we build is detailed to perfection. That attention, paired with our integrity and dedication to overdelivering for clients, is what defines our business.
When my dad handed me the reins to manage our first model home, he let me handle everything, from architecture to design. That home went on to win multiple awards and really positioned us as the go-to luxury builder. It led to more hires, more clients, and a larger role in Naples and Marco Island.
One of our core values is that our clients are family. This isn't just transactional; it's a relationship. We always do the right thing, own our mistakes, and fix them. In over 30 years of business and nearly 200 homes, we've never had a lawsuit. That kind of trust and integrity is rare, and that's what makes us stand out.
The video, podcasting, and imagery content we've produced over the years allows people to see who we are and what we stand for. Clients want transparency and connection, and media builds that trust before we even meet.
Most people think short-term. We play the long game. When you help others even when there's nothing in it for you, it always comes back around. I've helped people who couldn't build a high-end home yet to find other trustworthy builders, just knowing that one day, they may come back.
In the next few years, I see our company continuing to grow, expanding into new towns, and becoming even more of a trusted name in luxury homebuilding. We'll still be building homes with integrity, care, and purpose while forming real relationships with the people for whom we build. Our vision is clear - that is to be the largest luxury home builder in the state of Florida.

After years of treating heart disease, I wanted to shift toward prevention. Tools like DEXA and VO₂ max testing were mostly reserved for hospitals, but I saw their potential to help people make informed, proactive decisions about their health.
As a board-certified cardiologist, I built DexaFit around accuracy and science. My medical training and research in body composition and fitness shaped the services we offer. Being bilingual, I also make it a point to provide inclusive, accessible care for everyone.
I initially overwhelmed clients with too much technical detail. I’ve since learned to simplify communication, focus on client goals, and listen more—transforming confusion into motivation.
Launching DexaFit Naples was a major shift from traditional medicine to prevention. It allowed me to work with people before they become patients, blending my clinical skills with a passion for wellness.

Growing up one hour outside of NYC in the suburbs of CT, I was always intrigued by fashion, special events and the lifestyle the city had to offer. I knew very early on I wanted to be a part of it one day. I was an organized person who was inspired by beautiful things and lifestyles. Most of my career was in fashion, advertising, and photoshoot production for internationally recognized retailers. My career took shape managing the creative process, producing fashion photoshoots, working with models, photographers, creative directors, fashion stylists and copywriters while managing timelines, budgets and client relationships.
After over 20 years in NYC, my experience gave me confidence to do what I saw my father do as a young professional with a family - work for myself. My partner and I chose to start anew in Naples, inspired by my parents' dual residency here. We took a leap of faith to build a new

A. I’ve been in the drinks industry for over 30 years. I started by owning bars and restaurants in the UK, which gave me a deep, hands-on understanding of consumers and the market. The transition into creating, owning, and marketing drinks brands, such as Neptune Rum and Slainte Whiskey, felt like a natural evolution. It allowed me to bring together creativity, business strategy, and my passion for hospitality. Seeing how people connect with brands in real time taught me that everything begins and ends with the consumer. I've been in the US, here in Naples, the past few years, putting this to practice again.

When men get together (not just for a business dinner or a round of golf), invariably the go-to destination seems to always be a steakhouse. I'm just not a huge steak fan. To help out those who share this carnivorous conundrum, here are a few steak places that you can find comfort outside the typical New York Strip:
MARTIN FIERRO
I have a dear Argentine friend whose nickname is the 'Meat King'. So where does this Goliath of the grill go when he doesn’t feel like cooking? He heads to Martin Fierro off Livingston. If you’re not a steak person and you’re feeling the Pampas pull, their empanadas are for you - flaky and filled with all sorts of savory goodness. Throw in their classic fried, cheese dish, Proveleta, and the “don’t ask, just eat” sweetbreads, and wash it down with some Malbec, and you’re in 'Boca del Cielo'!
THE CONTINENTAL
They have a fantastic selection of starters and sides, and other excellent non-steak mains - from their decadent pate, to the sweet corn souffle, to a great restaurant burger, to a killer pork chop. It also has the best service in town in a gorgeous urban garden setting.
