LIFESTYLE LETTER
Finding Your Style Can you believe we're in September already? Summer may be drawing to a close everywhere else, but does it ever really end in South Florida? The heat certainly hasn't received the memo. Still, something feels different. The children are back at school, the roads are a little busier, and the shadows arrive just a bit earlier each evening. It feels like the beginning of a new season—even if we're still reaching for our sunglasses. This month's issue was one of my favorites to put together. One of the highlights of putting together this issue was stepping aboard one of Hera Flight's beautiful private jets for our September cover shoot. We never left the tarmac, but for one afternoon the cabin became our own fashion runway as designer Dawn Bradbury showcased her stunning resort collection—fresh from Monaco and now making its way to New York, Paris, and Milan—alongside an incredibly talented team of local creatives. We couldn't have imagined a more fitting backdrop for our Style Issue. One of my favorite conversations this month was with Thays Vick, founder of The Self Image Curator. If you've come across her on social media, you'll understand why she's gone viral. She believes great style begins with understanding our proportions, our lifestyle, and ourselves—not simply following trends. After speaking with her, I immediately wanted to invite her over to my closet! Like many people, I started fresh when we moved to Florida. I donated most of my wardrobe, thinking I'd quickly build one that suited my new life here. What I didn't realize was that great style, much like life itself, doesn't happen overnight. It evolves. My wardrobe today looks very different from what it did ten years ago, and I imagine it will continue to change with each new chapter. That's what this issue is really about. Style isn't just what we wear. It's confidence. It's embracing change. It's supporting the talented people and local businesses that make our community so vibrant. Most of all, it's finding authentic ways to express who we are without saying a word. Whether you're refreshing your wardrobe, redesigning a room, or simply looking for a little inspiration, I hope these pages encourage you to embrace your own unique sense of style. ARTICLE BY ARSINE KALOUSTIAN PHOTOGRAPHY BY CURATED KITCHEN CO. Once upon a time, the kitchen was where dinner got made. Today, it's where homework gets finished, friends linger over a second glass of wine, Zoom calls happen between coffee refills, and family members inevitably congregate— even if there are perfectly good sofas in the next room. "The kitchen is the heart of the home," says Jamie Janson, owner and lead designer of Curated Kitchen Co. in West Palm Beach. "We try to create workstations so multiple people can enjoy being together." That evolution is driving a noticeable shift in kitchen design. Homeowners are no longer asking for beautiful spaces that simply photograph well. They want kitchens that work harder, feel warmer, and reflect their personality. In other words, goodbye sterile showroom kitchen. Hello lived-in luxury.
COLOR IS BACK
Perhaps the biggest change? White is no longer the only answer. While crisp white cabinetry isn't disappearing entirely, today's palettes are noticeably softer and more expressive. "We're seeing color everywhere," Janson says. "Our most requested shades are Sherwin-Williams Fog, Upward, and a variety of terracotta tones."
14
H OM E U P DAT E | HO M E + D E SIGN
For those who still love a classic white kitchen, she recommends warmer whites such as Sherwin-Williams Alabaster rather than the stark, bright whites that dominated the last decade. Even regional tastes are beginning to diverge. Palm Beach homeowners are gravitating toward blue and green painted cabinetry. In Boca Raton, sleek high-gloss cabinetry remains popular, while Jupiter homeowners continue to favor warm rift oak finishes.
STONE IS THE NEW BACKSPLASH
Quartz countertops helped define the 2010s. In 2026, many homeowners are moving back toward natural materials. "We're seeing clients ask for real stone—marble and quartzite— instead of quartz," Janson says. But it doesn't stop at the countertop. Rather than breaking up the design with traditional tile, homeowners are extending that same stone all the way up the wall to create dramatic full-height backsplashes. Another subtle but sophisticated detail gaining traction? Softly rounded countertop edges that replace the sharp, squared profiles of years past. The effect feels more custom, and undeniably luxurious.
HIDDEN LUXURY
Some of the biggest design upgrades are the ones you barely notice. Forget flashy gadgets. Janson believes one of the smartest investments homeowners can make is integrated cabinet lighting that automatically illuminates when doors are opened. "It's such a simple feature," she says, "but every kitchen should have it." The same philosophy applies to storage. Today's must-haves aren't elaborate—they're practical: pull-out trash and recycling bins, built-in spice organizers, custom cutlery inserts, and roll-out pantry shelves that eliminate wasted space and forgotten ingredients hiding in the back. It's luxury that's measured in convenience rather than spectacle.
WHERE TO SPEND—AND WHERE NOT TO
For homeowners renovating on a budget, Janson doesn't hesitate. Invest in the countertops. "Sometimes clients experience sticker shock," she says. "But beautiful marble or quartzite is an investment that's well worth it." One place she would happily skip? The "skinny shaker" cabinet door that's dominated Pinterest for years. "I'm probably going to get pushback," she laughs. "I don't understand why people like it." Beyond the aesthetic, Janson says the oversized center panel can warp over time, creates awkward hardware placement, and lacks the character of either a traditional shaker or a clean slabfront cabinet.
LOOKING AHEAD
If Janson's crystal ball is accurate, tomorrow's kitchens will continue moving away from minimalism and toward warmth and personality. Expect oversized statement light fixtures replacing rows of identical pendant lights. Look for furniture-inspired cabinetry with bun feet and arched toe kicks. Glass-front coffee stations with decorative mullions are becoming increasingly popular, while antiqued mirror backsplashes are beginning to make an appearance. Above all, color isn't going anywhere. If the all-white kitchen represented perfection, the 2026 kitchen celebrates personality. Because today's kitchen isn't designed simply to be admired. It's designed to be lived in. Every September, the fashion world sets its sights on New York, London, Milan, and Paris. For four weeks, designers, editors, buyers, and tastemakers move from one fashion capital to the next as the season’s most anticipated collections make their debut. In Palm Beach, where international travel and resort dressing are part of the social vocabulary year-round, Hera Flight marked the occasion with an intimate salon presentation of its own. CONTINUED >

Aboard one of the company’s impeccably appointed Gulfstream IV aircraft, a select gathering of guests came together for an afternoon where fashion, private aviation, and effortless entertaining converged in unmistakable Palm Beach style. Rather than a traditional runway, the aircraft itself became the stage, proving that some of the most memorable fashion moments happen long before takeoff. As the first model stepped through the door, the aisle became an intimate runway. Dawn Bradbury’s flowing silk caftans drifted effortlessly through the cabin, their vibrant colors illuminated by the afternoon light streaming through the Gulfstream’s oval windows. Evoking afternoons in Capri and evenings along the Côte d’Azur, the collection captured the effortless glamour of resort dressing. Statement pieces from A’List Jewelry—including luminous pearls, colorful gemstone rings, and an unforgettable emerald-and-diamond alligator cuff—provided the perfect finishing touch, while polished hair styling by Paul Desmarre of Red Market x Martial Vivot completed the sophisticated, travel-ready aesthetic.

HERA FLIGHT HAS ENTERED A NEW ERA WITH THE ADDITION OF A GULFSTREAM GV TO ITS GR O W ING F L E E T.
As the runway gave way to conversation, models mingled with guests throughout the cabin as chilled champagne was poured and elegant passed hors d’oeuvres circulated from seat to seat. Discussions drifted naturally from favorite European destinations and hidden shopping streets to the collections soon to debut in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Throughout the afternoon, owner Jonathan Hollar welcomed guests aboard, reflecting the personal approach that has become the hallmark of Hera Flight. The setting also marked an exciting milestone for the company. Long recognized for delivering bespoke private aviation experiences, Hera Flight has entered a new era with the addition of a Gulfstream V to its growing fleet. With its exceptional longrange capability, the aircraft now allows Hera Flight clients to travel internationally with the same bespoke service and discretion that have long defined the company, opening the door to effortless journeys to the fashion capitals of the world and beyond. “Luxury today means consistency, trust, and the kind of seamlessness that feels effortless but takes real effort behind the scenes,” Hollar says. Fashion and travel have always shared the same language. Both celebrate craftsmanship, beauty, discovery, and the anticipation of what’s waiting just beyond the horizon. Bringing together Palm Beach’s leading names in fashion, jewelry, beauty, and private aviation, the afternoon was a celebration of Fashion Month in its most effortless form. As the last glasses of champagne were poured and conversations lingered throughout the cabin, one thing was clear: Fashion Month doesn’t always begin at the destination.

The Palm Beach Puff THE TIMELESS ONE-BITE HORS D’OEUVRE THAT’S BEEN STEALING THE SHOW AT COCKTAIL PARTIES FOR GENERATIONS
Holly Holden is a Palm Beach-based author, designer, and etiquette expert who has spent more than 35 years celebrating the art of gracious living. Through her books, the weekly Secrets to Lovely Living newsletter, and her devoted Instagram community @HollyHoldenDesign, she shares recipes, entertaining inspiration, and timeless Palm Beach style. There are certain foods that simply belong to Palm Beach. The Palm Beach Puff is one of them. Its exact origin is a little fuzzy, but this delicate hors d’oeuvre became a fixture of Palm Beach entertaining during the island’s golden age in the 1950s and 1960s. Today, it’s just as beloved, appearing at everything from intimate dinner parties to elegant charity galas. If you’ve spent any time in Palm Beach during the season, you’ve probably heard someone ask between sips of an ice-cold martini, “Have the puffs come out yet?” It’s a fair question. No matter what else is being passed—lobster, caviar, crab cakes, or elegant tartlets—a tray of warm Palm Beach Puffs is almost always the first to disappear. Like so many Palm Beach classics, every hostess has her own version. Some add Dijon mustard, Gruyère, Worcestershire, or herbs. Mine has remained blissfully simple. I love these because they’re elegant, wonderfully light, and easy to make ahead. I keep a batch in the freezer so they’re always ready to pop under the broiler when friends stop by or an impromptu cocktail gathering comes together. My only non-negotiable is a pinch of red pepper flakes—just enough to wake up the Parmesan without overpowering it.
HOLLY’S SIMPLE PALM BEACH PUFFS Makes: About 70 one-bite rounds
Ingredients • 1 loaf Pepperidge Farm Thin-Sliced White or Butter Bread • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese • ¾ cup mayonnaise • 2 tablespoons finely grated onion • 2 egg whites • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional—but highly recommended!) Directions: Cut 1¼-inch rounds from the bread. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Combine the Parmesan, mayonnaise, onion, seasonings, and red pepper flakes, then gently fold in the egg whites. Spread onto the bread rounds. Freeze if making ahead. Broil for 10–12 minutes until puffed and lightly golden. Serve immediately while warm.

The Art of
The Stack Fashion has always loved a good rule. Don’t wear white after Labor Day. Never mix black and brown. Navy and black? Absolutely not. And remember when we were told women should cut their hair short after 40? Just when we finally got comfortable breaking all those rules, jewelry came along with a whole new set of questions.
Can you mix gold and silver? Wear six bracelets? Layer three necklaces? Pair statement earrings with a necklace? And perhaps the biggest question of all: How do you know when you’ve achieved “luxurious”... rather than “Liberace?” Most of us are secretly afraid of looking like a fouryear-old who raided Grandma’s jewelry box and insisted on wearing every single piece to brunch. The irony is that the best layered jewelry rarely looks like it was assembled all at once. It looks collected—a grandmother’s diamond bracelet beside a modern gold bangle, a sleek tennis bracelet paired with a chunky cuff. The goal isn’t to wear everything you own. It’s to make every piece belong. “At A’List Jewelry, we’ve never believed jewelry should come with a rulebook,” says co-founder TJ Williams. “Every collection tells a different story because every person does.” Instead of following rigid formulas, today’s approach is about balance. Vary proportions, mix textures, combine bold pieces with delicate ones, and give each piece room to stand on its own. The best collections feel curated over time, not purchased in a single afternoon. “Bracelets are one of those things where personal style really shines,” TJ says. “Some people never take off one bracelet, while others love building a stack that tells a story. There isn’t a magic number—it’s whatever feels comfortable and looks like you.” The same philosophy applies to necklaces and earrings. Different chain lengths naturally create depth, while mixing chunky and delicate pieces creates contrast that feels effortless rather than overwhelming. And yes, you can mix metals. “Historically, yellow gold looked its best in natural daylight, while white gold and platinum came alive under evening lighting,” TJ explains. “Today, mixing metals is not only accepted—it’s celebrated.” In the end, the secret isn’t wearing more jewelry. It’s wearing the right jewelry, together. Think less ‘everything I own’ and more ‘everything belongs.’

The Good Life Let’s get one thing straight. Nobody needs another article telling you a hotel room has marble in the bathroom and calling it luxury. The word has been sanded down by press releases and Instagram captions until it means, roughly, “expensive.” Any parent who has traveled with small children knows better. Luxury isn’t the thread count. It’s opening a hotel room door and realizing, for the first time in eleven hours, that you don’t immediately have to solve a problem. I say this as someone who has performed the ritual. The travel, the snacks, the sibling diplomacy conducted entirely in the back seat without adult mediation. By the time you check in, the second shift has already begun. Where are the pajamas. Who packed the toothpaste. Parents carry an invisible inventory everywhere they go — Band-Aids, chargers, distractions for a meltdown that hasn’t happened yet — because whatever you forget will be the one thing you need by 6 p.m. You’re never really on vacation. You’re just relocating the job to somewhere with better lighting. Which is why my recent trip to The Four Seasons Resort Orlando caught me off guard. The resort was, by any measure, gorgeous, tucked into Golden Oaks on a quiet lake between the golf course and the Disney parks, close enough to feel connected and far enough to feel like an actual escape. But what stopped me wasn’t

the design. It was the sense that somewhere in the operation, someone had decided that what an exhausted parent wants isn’t more spectacle. It’s relief. And they’d built an entire property around delivering it quietly, letting the beauty speak for itself while the real work happened behind the scenes. It started before we’d even seen the room. While my husband and I were doing the grown-up business of checking in, our children found their way to a miniature front desk built to their scale, filled out their own registration cards with tremendous seriousness, and was welcomed by the concierge with the full ceremonial weight normally reserved for adults — plus lollipops. We had checked into a multiple award-winning resort (go look it up, it’s seriously impressive). They had checked themselves into vacation. We settled into an 825-square-foot Park View Suite — exactly the right amount of space for two adults, two children, and the sheer volume of gear a family accumulates by day three — and someone had already been there ahead of us. The kids’ bags had found their room. My makeup case had materialized in the bathroom. A second fridge and a microwave had appeared for my son’s food allergies. There was an iPad on the nightstand wired to a 24-hour chat with an actual human, and over the week I used it for room service, a firmer pillow, tomorrow’s firework schedule, and, at one low point around 9 p.m. on day four, something close to an SOS. It never once made me feel like I was asking too much. That’s the trick — somebody else was quietly carrying part of the mental load parents haul around everywhere, and for once I put a little of it down. So we let ourselves actually be there. Mornings belonged to the parks. Afternoons belonged to

Explorer Island, five acres of well-designed chaos — a lazy river my son refused to leave until his fingers pruned, a splash zone my daughter declared the greatest invention in human history, slides tall enough to make me nervous, a movie screen floating at the end of the family pool for kids who’d finally worn themselves out. When one of us needed a break — usually me — Kids for All Seasons took the children off our hands, running a scavenger hunt that had them sprinting the property, ending in ice cream tokens at the front desk. It bought my husband and me forty minutes at the adults-only Oasis pool, quiet enough to finish an actual sentence to each other — by day two of a family trip, its own kind of luxury. By the third night we were tired in the specific way a full day of chlorine and sunscreen and negotiated ice cream produces — the good kind, the kind vacations are supposed to evoke. We came back from the parks, got the kids down, and thought that was that. It wasn’t. Somewhere between the pool bag and the pajama drawer, Honey Bunny had vanished. If you’ve never had small children, that sentence means nothing to you. If you have, it means everything. My son’s stuffed rabbit had slept next to him every night of his life, and its sudden absence at 9 p.m. in an unfamiliar hotel room is not a minor inconvenience — it’s a five-alarm household emergency no amount of Disney magic earlier that day will offset. I called the front desk bracing for the standard answer, a promise to check with housekeeping in the morning. Instead the place mobilized like there’d been an actual breach — because as far as anyone with a five-year-old is concerned, there had been. Someone went through carts of freshly laundered sheets looking for one small cream-colored rabbit. Three hours later, a knock at the door: Honey Bunny, freshly washed, with a tiny plush hedgehog in tow the staff swore he’d made friends with during his ordeal. Returning a lost toy is service. Inventing the story a five-yearold wants to hear about where it’s been is something else entirely — the kind of hospitality you can’t put on a rate card, because nobody would believe you if you tried.

The next morning, still riding the high off the rabbit’s safe return, we had the character breakfast downstairs at Ravello, and it was the first one I’ve sat through without a single meltdown, mine or theirs. Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy came through in resort wear, working table to table at a pace that felt more like a house party than the assembly-line photo ops I’ve endured at many a character meal in this town. My kids got to actually meet them, not just get processed by them, and for twenty minutes I got to eat a warm breakfast while it was still warm — its own small miracle. We closed out the trip the way you’re supposed to and almost never do: on the balcony, no plan, watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks go off in the distance with both kids already half-asleep in their pajamas. No crowds, no sprint for the monorail, no logistics
left to manage. Just the two of us, watching the same fireworks our kids were watching, for once, instead of watching our kids. I keep coming back to a stuffed rabbit, of all things, when I try to explain what made this trip different. Not the water park, as spectacular as it was. Not the sumptuous suite, not the breakfast, not even the fireworks. It was the sense, running underneath all of it, that someone else had quietly taken on the job parents never stop doing — anticipating, fixing, remembering — so that for a few days, we didn’t have to. That’s the whole definition of luxury, and it took me nearly a decade of family travel to actually realize it. Not having more. Having less to carry.

STYLE FROM THE INSIDE OUT
For Thays Vick, style has never been just about clothes. The East Coast-based wardrobe and beauty curator, who works primarily in South Florida and New York, has spent more than 20 years in fashion and the past 16 helping clients transform not only their closets, but the way they see themselves. “There is a science behind getting dressed,” says Vick, owner of Self Image Curator. “The key is understanding yourself, your lifestyle, your features and your body structure.” Before shopping for a client or stepping inside a closet, Vick begins with what she calls a personal blueprint. The one-on-one consultation includes a lifestyle assessment, color analysis and body structure evaluation. She studies everything from shoulder placement and waistline to fabrics, silhouettes and even where accessories should fall. “I never work with anyone before understanding their life,” she says.

WHY THE BEST WARDROBE STARTS WITH KNOWING YOURSELF, NOT FOLLOWING TRENDS
That philosophy has helped Vick build a deeply personal business that goes far beyond fashion. Her clients span every age, lifestyle and budget. Some shop Hermès, Gucci and Prada; others shop Nordstrom Rack and outlet stores. For Vick, the price tag is not the point. “I want everybody to have access to this because it is a learning experience,” she says. “I am not just telling people what to do, I am teaching them exactly what they should be doing themselves.” Her signature “closet detox” is part organization, part education and part emotional reset. After the initial consultation, Vick helps clients edit out pieces that no longer serve them, whether because of color, fit, fabric or lifestyle. She then creates fresh outfits from what remains, photographs each look and uploads them to an online portal alongside the client’s personal blueprint. The goal isn’t to buy more. It’s to buy smarter. “Every new piece should connect six to ten looks rather than becoming that lonely piece in the closet,” she says.
Vick often hears the same complaint from clients standing in front of full wardrobes: “I have nothing to wear.” Usually, she says, the problem isn’t a lack of clothing. It’s that their wardrobe no longer reflects who they are today. They may have graduated from school, gotten married or divorced, started a new job and the list goes on. “Every few years we should revisit the closet because we are in a different phase of life,” she says. “All of a sudden, you look at your closet and you don’t see yourself anymore.” That emotional component is central to her work. Vick, who also spent 13 years as a makeup artist in New York, advises clients on clothing, hair color, makeup, beauty routines and overall image. She views self-image as a complete system. “The reason I do what I do is to keep people inspired and loving themselves,” she says. “Styling and garments are simply the tools.” Her approach has recently gained attention on Instagram, where her videos explaining body structure, proportion and the psychology of getting dressed have resonated with thousands. But Vick says what went viral is the part of her work she once found hardest to explain. “People think styling is just trends and shopping and dressing someone,” she says. “But truly, it is that deep analysis we do to understand exactly what someone should be wearing.” For Vick, the end result isn’t simply a better wardrobe. It is a woman walking into her life with more clarity, confidence and intention. “I wanted fashion to become a tool for people to feel amazing,” she says.

WHERE WELLNESS AND COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER.
ONE LAST Summer Hurrah Labor Day has a way of sneaking up on us. One minute we’re planning beach weekends and backyard dinners, and the next we’re wondering how summer slipped away so quickly. Rather than mourning the season, celebrated interior designer Danielle Rollins sees it as the perfect excuse for one last gathering—one that’s festive, relaxed, and effortlessly chic. “Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, and it’s the perfect time to bring out your red, white, and blue décor and all the barbecue essentials for one last celebration,” she says. Rollins believes the classic red, white, and blue palette deserves more than just the Fourth of July. Crisp reds, classic navy, and bright whites create a table that’s welcoming, timeless, and perfectly suited to an end-of-summer celebration. Fresh flowers are one of her favorite ways to make an impact. Fill pitchers or simple glass vases with generous armfuls of hydrangeas from the garden, roadside sunflowers, or grocery-store baby’s breath.
“The most humble or inexpensive things can look so chic when used with enthusiastic abundance,” Rollins says. “More is more.” Instead of a formal tablecloth, she often layers a vintage quilt or inexpensive cotton bedspread across the table for an inviting, relaxed look that can head straight into the washing machine after the last guest leaves. French-striped tea towels make equally practical—and charming—napkins for messy barbecue feasts. Above all, Rollins encourages hosts to keep things easy. Don’t overthink the menu or obsess over perfection. Gather the people you love, pour another glass, and savor one last lingering summer evening. To inspire your own Labor Day celebration, we’ve rounded up a selection of Danielle Rollins’ favorite tabletop pieces that capture her signature mix of color, pattern, and effortless elegance. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue or an alfresco dinner under the stars, these stylish finds make it easy to send summer off beautifully.
