Living a Life With Style

September 2026 PUBLISHER

Ah...the style issue. What immediately came to mind was fall fashion and beauty but as we put the issue together, I realized style isn't just about hair, makeup, and what you wear. It's how you choose to live—the choices you make that brings you joy. Over the next few pages, you'll meet people who define style in very different ways. Some are helping us dress with confidence. Others are showing us how to age gracefully or taking care of our bodies so we can continue doing the things we love for years to come. You'll discover ideas for creating a home that's both beautiful and welcoming, along with local boutiques, antique shops, and businesses that help make our community uniquely Northwest Columbus. What ties it all together is authenticity. Lately, I've been embracing a little more of my own. After years of straightening my hair for example, I've decided to let my curls take over again. They're a little less polished, a little more unpredictable—and they feel much more like me. Leaving corporate America has changed my wardrobe, too. My style has become softer, more relaxed and a lot more comfortable. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn't trying to impress anyone anymore. I just wanted to feel like myself. The same philosophy has found its way into our home. Bryan and I have artwork that makes us laugh, including one of my favorite pieces featuring three sticks of butter labeled Salted Butter, Unsalted Butter, and Assaulted Butter. My grandchildren are fascinated by our stone egg collection, our talking Minion, and the other playful touches that fill our home. I don't know if a designer would call it stylish, but it reflects exactly who we are. More importantly, it's a place where family gathers, stories are shared, and everyone feels welcome. Maybe that's what style really is. Not chasing trends. Not trying to look like everyone else. Not creating a picture-perfect life. Real style is having the confidence to create a life that fits you—implementing changes to make you feel more confident (hello crows feet!) or caring for your body so it can carry you into the next adventure. My hope is that the style issue reminds you that style isn't found in a magazine or a showroom. It's found in living a life that reflects who you are and welcoming others to share in it.

Style Starts From Within The Pilates Method may be one of the best investments you can make in yourself. We spend thousands of dollars on clothes, skincare, and hair color. Yet one of the first things people notice has nothing to do with fashion. It's the way we carry ourselves. For Anna Sullivan, movement has never been about chasing perfection. It has always been about creating a life filled with strength, balance, joy, and the freedom to embrace every season of life with confidence. Long before launching Body Intuit Pilates Studio in Worthington, Sullivan found her passion as a dancer. She trained at BalletMet, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Ohio University, and continues to choreograph and perform today. Those experiences shaped the philosophy that guides her studio: movement isn't simply exercise—it's one of the greatest investments we can make in ourselves. She reminds clients that "movement is medicine." It's about caring for the body, not punishing it. Through Pilates, Sullivan helps clients move with intention, combining mindful breathing with slow, controlled movements and resistance—often using their own body weight or Pilates equipment—to build strength, balance, and resilience for everyday life. At Body Intuit, clients can choose private or small-group sessions using either Pilates equipment or traditional mat work. While some clients prefer mat Pilates, many begin with the classic Pilates equipment, including

the reformer, Cadillac, Chair and other apparatus. Regardless of the format, every movement is designed to improve posture, core strength, stability, balance, and spinal health. "The Pilates Method teaches you a lot about life," Sullivan says. "It teaches patience, awareness, and resilience. You learn to breathe through challenges instead of fighting them." In a culture that encourages us to move faster and work harder, Sullivan believes there's tremendous value in slowing down. Intentional movement helps people reconnect with their bodies, creating strength that carries into every other aspect of life. One of the biggest misconceptions about Pilates is that it's only for dancers, or intermediate levels. The reality is far different. Anna's clients include busy professionals, parents, golfers, runners, and retirees. Some come to improve athletic performance while others want greater flexibility, or simply to feel stronger and more toned. Every program begins in exactly the same place—with the individual.

"I like to meet people where they are," Sullivan says. "You don't have to be fit. You don't have to have any athletic experience." That philosophy creates an environment where clients feel comfortable trying something new without fear of being judged or left behind. Small classes and personalized instruction allow Sullivan to understand each person's goals while celebrating steady progress rather than impossible expectations. The benefits often extend well beyond the studio walls. Clients typically feel stronger, more confident, and aches and pains are reduced. More importantly, they're discovering the confidence that comes from strengthening the core and feeling great. Many also find something unexpected from her studio: community. Building a community becomes a tether that makes students feel right at home in the studio. Friendships develop, laughter fills the room, and movement becomes something people genuinely look forward to each week. For Sullivan, that's the true purpose of Body Intuit. It's helping people build a body that supports the life they want to live—whether that means dancing, traveling, chasing children, embracing grandchildren, or simply feeling their best. Because while great style may begin with what we wear, lasting beauty is reflected in the way we carry ourselves. To learn more about Body Intuit visit bodyintuit.com

BEYOND BOTOX: Aging Gracefully STARTS WITH Expert Care Expert aesthetic specialist Mila Prager shares today's natural, personalized solutions for aging confidently and beautifully. ARTICLE BY LISA FEDERICO

Walk into almost any aesthetic practice and you'll hear the same conversation: Botox and fillers. But according to Mila Prager, RN BSN, that's often the wrong place to start. "My goal is to keep your look natural—not overdone," says Prager. "We're never going to look like we're in our 20s or 30s again, and that's okay." With more than 20 years of experience in aesthetic medicine, Prager has become one of the industry's most sought-after educators, traveling across the country to train physicians, nurse practitioners and aesthetic providers on the latest regenerative and non-surgical techniques. At Precision Health & Wellness in Worthington, she combines that expertise with a personalized approach that focuses on helping patients choose the right solutions to address their aging concerns so they look refreshed, healthy and confident—not dramatically different. Most people assume wrinkles are the first sign of aging, but Prager says the process begins much earlier. Collagen production starts declining around age 25, while hormonal changes, sun exposure, and lifestyle habits gradually contribute to thinning skin, volume loss, discoloration, and loss of elasticity. This can impact the face, neck, decolletage, hands, elbows, and knees—the areas that make us look older. Today's aesthetic medicine isn't about chasing youth. It's about understanding why we age and choosing treatments that restore collagen, improve skin quality, and preserve what makes each person uniquely themselves. That philosophy has made Prager a trusted resource for patients seeking subtle, natural-looking results that help them age gracefully with confidence. One patient sought facial treatment after losing significant weight with GLP-1 medications, assuming wrinkle reducers would

be the logical next step. Instead, Prager identified a different concern. "Weight loss had revealed years of collagen loss," she explains. "It's not always about lifting. It's about having a nice cushion for the skin." Rather than chasing wrinkles, the treatment plan focused on rebuilding collagen and improving overall skin quality—the foundation for healthier, more natural-looking, longer-lasting results. One of the biggest advances in aesthetic medicine is that providers can now treat the underlying causes of aging instead of simply masking them. Mila Prager, RN BSN; Photo by Jen Brown Photography

For some patients, the best solution is stimulating the body's own collagen production through treatments such as microneedling, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), or biostimulator therapies. Rather than simply filling lines, these treatments encourage the body to rebuild collagen naturally, improving skin texture, firmness, elasticity, and overall skin quality over time. Not every concern requires the same approach. Patients who have lost facial volume after significant weight loss often need to rebuild collagen before addressing wrinkles. Others may be more concerned about years of sun damage, uneven skin tone, thinning hair, or crepey skin on the neck, chest, hands, or knees. Today's treatments are designed to address each concern individually, creating results that look refreshed instead of artificial with long lasting results. Among the newer options many patients haven't yet heard about are Skinvive®, an FDA-approved injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that improves skin hydration and quality for up to six months, and biostimulator fillers, which gradually encourage the body to produce its own collagen rather than simply adding volume. For patients seeking subtle lifting without surgery, non-surgical thread lifts can restore facial definition with minimal downtime. Hair restoration therapies combine regenerative treatments with medical-grade supplements to help address ageand hormone-related thinning. "The biggest thing is that every patient has an individual care plan," Prager says. "Every single patient needs something different." That's why every consultation begins with understanding the person—not simply recommending a procedure. Prager evaluates each patient's concerns, lifestyle, skin condition, medical history, and longterm goals before creating a personalized treatment plan designed to achieve natural-looking results. Her philosophy extends beyond procedures. Healthy nutrition, hydration, exercise, quality skincare, daily sunscreen, and avoiding smoking all contribute to reducing signs of aging and longer-lasting results. In-office treatments become one part of a comprehensive approach to aging well—not a quick fix. For Prager, the greatest compliment isn't hearing someone say a patient looks younger. It's hearing someone say they look rested, healthy, confident—and still unmistakably like themselves.

From rich colors to timeless textures, these trends are defining this season's style.

Timeless Style Style is so much more than just what you wear. It influences the colors you surround yourself with, the textures you love, and the atmosphere you create at home. This season embraces warmth, rich natural materials, and effortless sophistication—proof that timeless style is always in fashion.

ARTICLE BY MADISON MOROI

The New Neutrals This fall, warm neutrals are giving way to deeper, moodier hues that feel both sophisticated and inviting. Chocolate brown, olive green, burgundy, and warm plum are replacing cool grays and stark black in both wardrobes and interiors. A tailored blazer in espresso, velvet accent pillows, or a statement chair in deep olive can instantly refresh a space—or an outfit—without feeling trendy. The key is using these richer colors as accents layered with timeless classics. Whether you're updating a closet or redesigning a living room, these earthy tones create warmth, depth, and understated luxury that feels right at home in Northwest Columbus.

Texture Tells the Story Great style isn't just about color—it's about texture. This season, fashion and home design share the same philosophy: layering materials that invite you to slow down and enjoy them. Think suede handbags, chunky knits, brushed brass, linen upholstery, boucle chairs, warm wood, and handcrafted ceramics. Mixing textures creates visual interest while making both outfits and living spaces feel collected instead of decorated. Consider adding one or two tactile elements that elevate what you already own. Texture brings richness to everyday living without overwhelming your personal style.

Invest in Timeless The biggest trend may actually be resisting trends altogether. Instead of filling closets and homes with disposable pieces, homeowners and fashion lovers are investing in quality that lasts. A beautifully tailored coat. A handcrafted dining table. Leather boots that improve with age. Classic lighting. Well-made accessories. The goal isn't having more—it's choosing better. Curating a wardrobe and a home with intention creates a style that feels personal rather than predictable. Timeless design doesn't chase the latest look. It reflects who you are and evolves gracefully with the life you live.

What Stylish Ho m e s S h a re A REALTOR'S PERSPECTIVE ON HOMES WITH ENDURING STYLE.

Open the front door of a truly stylish home and you notice it almost immediately. It isn't one dramatic feature or a single piece of furniture that captures your attention. Instead, it's the feeling that every room belongs, every detail has a purpose and every design choice contributes to a home that feels warm, welcoming and effortlessly pulled together. It's a feeling Eileen Pilcher has come to recognize well. Through years of helping families buy and sell homes throughout Worthington and Northwest Columbus, she's developed an eye for the subtle design decisions that make a home stylish. Along the way, she's discovered that lasting style rarely comes from one dramatic renovation. Instead, it's created through intentional choices that work together—giving every room purpose, creating flow and allowing a home's personality to shine through naturally. One of the first things Eileen notices is whether every room has a purpose. Kitchens should be designed for cooking, gathering and conversation—not for becoming a catchall for everyday clutter. Likewise, underused basements can become inviting spaces for entertaining, fitness or relaxation instead of simply collecting boxes. When every room has a clear purpose, the entire home feels more intentional because every space contributes to the way the family lives. Purpose also means being honest about the way your family lives. Eileen has found that the most stylish homes aren't built around outdated expectations, but around everyday life. Formal living rooms that rarely get used have largely given way to flexible spaces where families gather, work, entertain and relax. When a home's layout reflects the people who live there instead of the way previous generations thought it should be used, every room feels more natural, comfortable and connected to the rest of the home. From there, Eileen begins looking at how one room relates to the next. Stylish homes don't require

everything to match, but they do benefit from continuity. A consistent color palette helps create flow throughout the home, while furnishings should fit the scale of the room rather than overwhelm it. Texture adds warmth and depth, and carefully selected artwork and accessories help tell the homeowner's story. Together, these elements create a home that feels balanced, comfortable and timeless. Lighting is one of the most transformative elements in a home. Natural light makes spaces feel open and inviting, while thoughtfully chosen fixtures add warmth, character and personality. Combined with details like cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, paint colors and trim, lighting helps create a polished look without requiring a complete remodel. Another hallmark of a stylish home is knowing when to stop. Personal photographs, family heirlooms, artwork and travel treasures give a home character, but they deserve room to be appreciated. When every shelf and tabletop is filled, meaningful pieces lose their impact. A thoughtfully edited home doesn't feel empty—it feels curated, intentional and distinctly personal. The same philosophy extends outside. Long before someone walks through the front door, they've already formed an impression. Healthy landscaping, a welcoming entry, updated house numbers or a freshly painted front door all contribute to the home's personality. Great curb appeal isn't about making a grand statement—it's about creating an invitation. For Eileen, the secret behind style has never been about chasing trends. It's about creating spaces that reflect the people who live there while supporting the way they want to live. The result is a home that feels welcoming, functional and timeless—qualities that never go out of style. Interestingly, the same qualities that make a home feel stylish every day are often the ones buyers notice first. That's why Eileen believes homeowners shouldn't CONTINUED >

wait until they're preparing to sell before thinking about design. The choices you make today shape how your home feels every time you walk through the front door while creating lasting value for the future. A room with a clear purpose, furnishings that fit the space, thoughtful lighting and meaningful personal touches will always feel more inviting than one designed around whatever happens to be popular at the moment. Perhaps the greatest compliment a home can receive is that it simply feels right - that is true style. It's not one dramatic art piece, or one accent wall that creates that feeling—it's dozens of carefully considered details working together. “I’ve walked through hundreds of homes in our community,” says Eileen. “Lasting style isn’t about perfection – style is about creating a home that welcomes people the moment they arrive and leaves an impression long after they leave.” After years of helping buyers and sellers throughout Worthington and Northwest Columbus, Eileen Pilcher has developed a keen eye for the design choices that make a home feel welcoming, functional, and timeless. Whether preparing a home for the market or helping clients find the perfect one, she believes thoughtful design creates stylish spaces people love coming home to. eileenpilcher.kw.com | @eileenpilcher
