It's a month that marks new beginnings and a reawakening of inspiration for me. And this month, it's a month that is inspiring me to turn my focus to my home and how I can freshen its look with inspiration from our modern finds! Peek inside of Beau Williams and Keely Edgington William's mid-century modern home in old Briarcliff. The style may be retro but their fresh take on the open concept makes for an airy space perfect for entertaining friends or just hanging out with their two adorable daughters, Lula and Adair. And with an emphasis on STEM and female leaders in their girls' rooms, they've managed to make the 'modern' part of mid-century count. There was a point when I shifted mediums and discovered I liked working with wood instead. I started taking old pallets and turning them into tables and benches. One of my very first pieces was a coffee table for my living room. As I brought it into our home, Pistachio jumped up and sat right on top. I quickly started picking up projects for family and friends. I started to think I could do this for a living. I decided to quit my job of 11 years - two weeks before my wedding (You can say I have an AMAZING wife) - and started making furniture full time. It is a true blessing when you get to turn your favorite hobby into a career. WHAT KIND OF DOG IS PISTACHIO AND HOW DID YOU TWO FIND EACH OTHER? Pistachio is a springer spaniel. Edwards says the welcome he’s received has been overwhelming. “I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it’s been to talk to people coming in through the door,” he says. “I’d say nine out of 10 people I’ve talked to already know what they want and are so excited we’re there. It’s been wonderful.” As a native of the metro area, Edwards says he’s proud of the local feel of his locations. “I think it is authentic, that feeling of being local,” he says. “We live in this community, we’re from here. And this brand is solid, especially for this community. I’m very proud of what we do; I’m proud of the product that we sell. For me, that’s been the most enjoyable part—having something you can be really proud of.”
