ABOUT MEN. Father's Day is June 17th and is the perfect time to highlight a fabulous father. It was easy for me to select Daniele Struppa, president of Chapman University, as a father, first and foremost. He is so proud of his two daughters, 13-year-old Arianna and 11-year-old Athena, and credits his wife Lisa as a wonderful wife and mother. It is a heartwarming story. Twin brothers Anthony and Sebastian Musco (Sebastian is our own S. Paul Musco) are featured in a story about their battle with heart disease and how both of them were given a "second life" late in life (they are 92 years old!). Thanks to American Heart Association research carried out by Edwards Lifesciences, the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement was inserted in their hearts. It is much less invasive than openheart surgery, and both men are doing extremely well. A men's trip to Iowa is featured for all you baseball lovers out there. The Field of Dreams tourist attraction where the movie was filmed is a hot item, and there are major and

AT 199 MILES LONG AND 310 MILES WIDE, IOWA IS THE 26TH LARGEST STATE IN THE UNITED STATES, MAKING IT AN OBVIOUS PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR A STATEWIDE ROAD TRIP. It may not be possible to visit all 947 cities within the state in one go, but visiting the 99 counties, or at least driving through them, is definitely more realistic. The state is filled with rich history, including being part of the Louisiana Purchase, a deal arranged between President Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon Bonaparte of France in 1803 that brought a vast tract of the continent under the control of the United States. Lewis & Clark also were among the first explorers to visit the area, and visitors to Iowa can retrace the steps of the famed duo as well as visit monuments and museums throughout the state that pay homage to their journey. Whether it’s history, outdoor adventures, hunting and fishing, arts & culture, wine and beer, baseball or scenic drives, there’s a little bit of everything in Iowa. Below are some ideas to help inspire your Iowa road trip for you and your men friends and/or your sons.

The marriage took place December 19, 2003, in Calabria, Italy, on the Tyrrenian Sea. Wanting children right away, Arianna was born in Virginia in 2004, with Athena following in 2007 after they arrived in Orange County. LIFE IN ORANGE COUNTY Provost at Chapman for one year, Daniele then became chancellor, where he remained until Doti retired and he became president in September, 2016. Lisa, a Ph.D. Chapman professor in communication, was elected by the faculty in 2015 to be Dean of Communication. Together, the two represent Chapman in a passionate and engaging way, none more so than Daniele. “The community has been incredibly warm and welcoming to me,” he says. “It is an honor to represent an institution of this quality.” The family has a busy life, but there is always family time. Daniele says of Lisa: “The day I married Lisa was the best day of my life! She is a fabulous partner and a very loving mother. And, I’m very proud that she’s running for a seat on the Orange County Board of Education, something she cares about deeply.” Lisa, in turn, says, “Daniele is awesome!

In 2012, Larsen, with the help of his co-founder Jed McCaleb, founded Ripple. The blockchain technology-based project solves the security and speed problems of the peer-to-peer transactions. From its inception, not only Prosper benefited from it, but also any financial institution that facilitates international payments. Among its more than 100-plus customers are Mitsubishi Financial, Bank of America and Santander. Today, Larsen, 57, no longer serves as executive chairman and CEO of Ripple (XRP), although he is still an active participant holding a 17% stake. Changpeng Zhao Changpeng Zhao, 41, known as CZ, is Binance’s founder and CEO. As a son of two teachers that emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in the late 1980’s, Zhao worked flipping burgers at McDonald’s and at a gas station to help with the family expenses. After studying computer science at Montreal’s McGill University, Zhao spent time in both Tokyo and New York. He first built a system for matching trade orders on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, then at Bloomberg’s Tradebook, where he developed software for futures trading. Binance’s initial coin offering (ICO) took place in July, 2017. Today, ten months later, the platform has 6 million users, making it the world’s largest crypto-currency exchange. In addition, its value has gone up to $1.3 billion. As the largest owner of Binance tokens, Zhao plans to use 20% of his profits every quarter to shrink Binance’s token capitalization by 50%. This will only move him to the top of the crypto world’s richest. CZ’s crypto net worth is calculated to be around $2 billion as of February, 2018.

Born in 1906, Temianka displayed prodigious talent before crossing the Atlantic to attend the Curtis Institute of Music. He performed in high-profile venues around the world, making connections that ultimately helped extract his parents from Nazi captivity and later, a Fascist prison.

It’s somewhat like an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in which investors purchase shares of a company. ICOs are a relatively new phenomenon but have quickly become a dominant topic of discussion within the blockchain community. Many view ICO projects as unregulated securities that allow founders to raise an unjustified amount of capital, while others argue it is an innovation in the traditional venture-funding model. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is re-examining the funding models of many ICOs. The most important criteria to consider is whether or not the token passes the Howey Test. If it does, it must be treated as a security and is subject to certain restrictions imposed by the SEC. These two exemptions can be paired with other exemptions that allow accredited investors only. These exemptions are: ••Regulation D 506 (c) allows companies to raise unlimited amounts from accredited investors. There are not specific requirements about what needs to be disclosed and the SEC is not involved. The shares become tradeable

TWIN BROTHERS ANTHONY AND SEBASTIAN MUSCO ARE ALIVE TODAY, THANKS TO AN AMAZING RESEARCH DISCOVERY IT’S A VERY GOOD THING THAT EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES DEVELOPED THE TRANSCATHETER AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT (TAVR) BECAUSE SEBASTION PAUL MUSCO (KNOWN AS PAUL) AND HIS TWIN BROTHER ANTHONY MUSCO ARE ALIVE TODAY BECAUSE OF IT. The heart valve was developed due to American Heart Associationfunded research carried out by Edwards Lifesciences. The procedure is a less invasive procedure than open-heart surgery, which allows a new valve to be inserted with the native, diseased aortic valve (see diagrams). Paul and his brother Anthony were among 10 children born to Carmello and Lucia Musco in Providence, Rhode Island. The twins, now 92 years old, joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, with Anthony remaining to

serve in both Korea and Vietnam and retiring after a distinguished career. Paul is founder and board chair of 44-year-old Gemini Industries and continues to go to work every day. Having had the valve procedure at Hoag Hospital on April 13, 2013, he lauds doctors Haskell and Raney for their expertise, having also implemented nine stints. Paul visited Edwards and met the people who designed the valve to thank them. “It’s been a big success,” he says. “I feel like a young man and can’t wait to be 100!” Paul says his brother had the procedure a few months ago at Walter Reed Hospital and is doing great. They are very close and Skype every night. “Life is great!” smiles a very grateful Paul. Future Honors AHA and Edwards have teamed up to honor Paul at the 2018 AHA Heart & Stoke Ball on Saturday, October 13th. Paul is being recognized for his
