Shania Twain said it best: "Let's Go, Girls!" I am so excited to deliver this month's Ladies issue to our community. We have stories on how to style yourself, make yourself feel like the queen you are, take some work off your shoulders, and make your spaces peaceful and beautiful.
Have you ever been at the grocery store and wondered how that lady got the most beautiful hair, or at the ballgame and thought, "Wow, I would love to have her waistline!" Well, we all think that, but here is the good part: everyone has those thoughts! We are human, juggling roles like boss, mom, wife, partner, friend, daughter, aunt, etc. We are also juggling aging, staying hydrated, getting 10,000 steps daily, eating enough protein, covering gray hairs during hair appointments, keeping the house clean, feeding everyone, and everything else that comes with being an empowered female. Want to know the beautiful part about this? We don't have to do everything or look perfect. I think society puts a lot of pressure on us, and we do too as women, but we don't have to have it all together to know that we are perfect just the way we are. Our Creator beautifully and wonderfully made us, and that alone should make us celebrate.
This month, I challenge you to some self-care. This is completely different for each and every one of us. For me, that means a good workout, a massage, and a facial. When things are especially busy, I try to step back, breathe, and remember that all will be okay, allowing me to take an hour here and there to protect my mental peace. I know others who need help with meal prep, keeping up with laundry and household chores, or simply creating a beautiful space to retreat to when everything around you is chaotic. Whatever you choose to treat yourself to this month, I pray it brings you joy and the ease of loving yourself a little more. Also, when you see someone who has something you love or who just looks amazing, let's stop and take a minute to build each other up. We gals have to stick together; united, we can achieve anything.

She didn’t have a business plan, a media budget, or even a name anyone could pronounce. What Becky Hillyard had was taste, a young family, and the instinct to just start. Today, her lifestyle brand Cella Jane commands an audience the size of Vogue’s, she’s nine collections strong with Splendid, and she’s built it all while raising three kids — refusing to sacrifice one for the other. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Becky shares what it really takes to build a brand, a career, and a life you love. Q: WHEN DID YOU KNOW CELLA JANE WAS MORE THAN A HOBBY?
A: Two moments. Women started emailing me saying they bought something I recommended and felt amazing — asking me to help them find a dress for a wedding. That felt incredible. Then I looked at my affiliate numbers for one month and realized I could cover our mortgage. I thought, I can actually do this. I never set out to build a business. I started it because I genuinely loved it.

Q: WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU EVER TOOK WITH THE BRAND?
A: Designing my own collection. It’s easy to point at items on a website and say I love these. But to create something from scratch, put your name on it, and wait to see if people connect with it — that’s terrifying. I had an incredible partner in Splendid, and women loved the pieces. It was the biggest risk and the biggest accomplishment.
Q: HOW HAS INFLUENCER MARKETING CHANGED SINCE YOU STARTED?
A: When I started, brands didn’t know whether to take it seriously. Now it’s a legitimate line item in their marketing budgets — sometimes bigger than TV. Because what we’ve built is trust. People trust a real recommendation from someone they follow far more than a commercial. There’s no question about it now.
Q: YOU’RE A MOM OF THREE RUNNING A FULL BRAND. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?
A: I try to get up at five and not hit snooze — that first hour before the house wakes up is the most productive, most peaceful hour of my day. Then it’s all hands on deck with the kids and school drop-off. After that I work — planning content, connecting with my team, editing. After pickup, the day shifts completely and it’s all about them. I’ve learned to protect both halves fiercely, because both matter.
Q: WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BUILD SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN BUT KEEPS WAITING?
A: Don’t wait. Don’t wait for the perfect camera, the right strategy, or enough followers. We find every excuse to stay comfortable. Just start, be consistent, and be authentically yourself. The right people will find you — and they’ll stay.

CM Frameless Glass helps people begin each day in a brighter, calmer space. Owner Christian talks about how a simple swap to clear, frameless glass can lift a whole room and lift your mood. He says it best: "When you do clear glass, it makes everything else just pop. It makes your room look bigger as well."
A new glass shower is more than a new look. It opens sight lines and lets light flow. That means that specialty tile you ordered truly gets its moment. The same goes for the metal and fixtures. Christian points out that small choices matter. Pick hardware in satin brass or matte black, and the room takes on a fresh, modern feel. He noted how a green tile with gold hardware can make a space sing. Those details help a bathroom feel less like a chore and more like a place you want to start your day.
The process is simple and personal. Christian meets customers on site, measures, and chooses hardware with them. "I give you estimates on site. So it's from when you call me to when we schedule to when I arrive." He then installs the work himself. That one-person touch keeps things clear and fast. Most projects finish in three to five business days. The biggest holdup is sometimes a special part that must be ordered. Even so, you could have a totally new look in about a week.
Beyond style, frameless glass brings real benefit. Metal tracks and old trim trap water and grime. Removing them often shows hidden mold and dirt.
Christian and his team clean the base, remove old silicone, and leave a surface that stays cleaner for longer. He says the main downside to a glass update is a small one: "The only con is you wish you had done this sooner." That feeling, of wishing you had acted sooner, tells you how much a small change can matter.
Care is easy. Christian asks clients to squeegee or towel the glass after use. Use mild cleaners like Windex. Avoid harsh cleaners and strong acids that can harm protective coatings. For hard water, simple coatings like Rain-X can help for a few weeks, while a protective seal can last for much longer. These tips keep surfaces clear and help the finish last.
CM Frameless Glass also offers mirrors, cabinet glass, pantry doors, and office partitions. For a full master bath update, Christian suggests pairing the shower with a new mirror so everything reads as one clean look. He loves the big projects. His favorite was a multi-story river house with four showers. It was a long trip and a lot of work, but it was worth every mile.
Christian’s story is part hustle and part leap of faith. He learned the trade, then ventured out on his own. Now he runs a hands-on business with a focus on care and craft. The result is bathrooms that let light in, show off style, and make your mornings better. If you have been waiting to move on a home update, his advice is simple and hopeful: make it clear, make it bright, and you might just change how your day begins.

We love a good home-cooked menu mixed with a signature drink, so we paired our meal with a delicious craft cocktail. Buttermilk-brined fried chicken was a must for this outdoor party. A delicious peach bread pudding with salted vanilla caramel cream rounded out our meal for the perfect sweet treat. We wanted to share a few of our favorite recipes for you to try at home. Enjoy!
FARM-TO-TABLE ENTERTAINING
Buttermilk-Brined Fried Chicken
INGREDIENTS:
Dried spice mix
• 2 tablespoons white pepper
• 1 teaspoon ground mustard
• 5 teaspoons paprika
• 2 teaspoons fresh black pepper
• 2 tablespoons garlic powder
• 2 teaspoons dried oregano
• 2 teaspoons cayenne
• 1 teaspoon celery salt
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
• 4 teaspoons onion powder
• Palm kosher salt
Buttermilk Brine
• 4 cups buttermilk
• 1 bunch fresh sage
• 1/2 of spice mixture
Dredge
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 cup cornstarch
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• Whole cut up chicken or 2 bone-in breasts, 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks
To cook
• 4 cups shortening
INSTRUCTIONS:
Marinate chicken in brine for up to 24 hours. Place chicken in large Ziploc bag and pour marinade over top. Add fresh sage and store in fridge. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a baking rack with a sheet pan for raw chicken and one for cooked chicken. Add remaining spice mixture to flour mixture. Whisk together well. Heat shortening to 350 degrees. (Preference is cast iron Dutch oven.) Pull chicken out of buttermilk mixture and let drip. Coat firmly in flour mixture and set on raw chicken rack. Complete each piece of chicken. Heat oil to 350 degrees. Place 2 or 3 pieces of chicken in oil and cook 3-5 minutes per side. Place on cooked chicken rack. Put cooked chicken in oven to complete cooking for 15 minutes. Let chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving!
Peach Bread Pudding
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 loaf brioche
• 5 fresh peaches
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 2 cups milk
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 5 eggs
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes. Dice peaches into medium dice. Place peaches, white sugar, and butter in saucepan. Cook until sugar is dissolved and peaches are soft. Mix all other ingredients together. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan and add peach mixture with brioche pieces and then add milk mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. Let cool for 20 minutes before cutting.
El Ahumado
Spanish for “Smoky”
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 1/2 ounces Reposado tequila
• 1/2 ounce aperol
• 3/4 ounce lime juice
• 1/2 ounce agave nectar
• 1/4 ounces luxardo cherry syrup
• 1 spritz of Mezcal
INSTRUCTIONS:
Lightly sweet, pleasantly bitter. The Mezcal adds just a hint of smoke to make a beautifully balanced, interesting cocktail.

Owner Angela brings more than two decades of experience to that goal. The salon reflects her love for people and a vision that puts both stylists and clients first.
Angela began her career in North Carolina, honing her craft for more than twenty years. She opened her first salon early in her career. Around 2010, she moved to Texas and began building a new client base. When a historic home began undergoing renovations, Angela saw the chance to create something special. Seven years ago, Stephen & Company opened its doors and quickly found a warm welcome. Angela reflected on this, saying, “I just love the people of New Braunfels and how they've welcomed us, and the other businesses in town have supported us.”
The name comes from Angela’s maiden name, Stephenson. She shortened it to Stephen and added “& Company” to reflect the team around her. That team is a key part of the salon’s success.

Education and support shape the culture at Stephen & Company. Someone from the team attends a class nearly every month. Several times a year, trainers come into the salon for hands-on learning. Stylists share what they learn so the whole group grows together. This excitement for learning new techniques and styles is felt whenever you sit in the chair, talking through your dream hair.
The space was designed with comfort in mind. Angela wanted guests to feel welcome whether they arrived straight from the gym, work, or the school pickup line. “I wanted you to walk in and feel like you were in an elevated place,” she says. “But it did not matter if you just came from the gym or from chasing your kids on the playground.”
Consultation is at the heart of every appointment. Stylists begin by asking about a client’s routine and the time they want to spend on their hair each day. Some clients want a quick washand-go routine. Others enjoy styling their hair for nights out. The team works with each person to find the cut and style that truly works for you and your lifestyle.
Angela also encourages clients to think about hair health. Hard water in Texas can affect color and leave hair dry. Regular trims, conditioning treatments, and detox services help remove buildup and keep hair looking fresh. “Taking a little extra time to add a treatment keeps your hair healthy and helps that color stay longer.”
One service she wishes more clients would try is a simple blowout. Many women love how their hair looks when they leave the salon, yet they do not realize they can book a wash-and-style without a cut or color. It can be a great way to take a break during a busy week.
Beyond great hair, Angela values the connections formed in the salon chair. Clients share big moments from their lives. “They let you into their life,” Angela shares. They celebrate milestones and talk through hard days. “If you can just love on them just a little bit, they can leave and feel a little bit more loved.”
