Dear Neighbors,
We are so blessed by the warmth of spring, the beauty of fresh blossoming flowers and the incredible women this community holds. This issue is bursting with huge hearts, women who strive to make a difference, healers, adventurers, artists, wealth engineers, creatives and just good souls. As I curated this month's issue, I couldn't come close to capturing all the good things happening here. These incredible women who are leaders in their homes and our community. Utah is an incredible, thriving and gracious place to live, work and raise a family.
Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle in. This issue will capture, inspire and engage you! We invite you first to the story of the compassionate dynamic duo behind Beauty Lab + Laser. “Dreather” that share insights into motherhood, beauty, mental health, and everything in between. This real and raw conversation couldn’t be more fun, you’ll feel as if you’ve just gained two new besties. Next, we turn to strength trainer and gym owner, Angela. We aim to inspire a well-lived life. Physical health is at the top of that list. Getting in shape, especially in your 40’s might not sound easy but she makes it feel that way. Aside from confidence, you’ll gain new friends and a fresh perspective on Spring!
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. We recruited Dr Salomone, Clinical Director at Numinous to share the latest in clinical trials and alternative treatment options supporting patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD and more. Beauty comes from the inside so let’s make sure we tend the inner garden! Along with mental health comes nature. We wanted to share a rejuvenating way to spend the day with loved ones while soothing your mind, body and soul.
Next, we turn to events. She Money is hosting their inaugural women’s wealth summit. We found unique experiences to share with mom; from brunch to pickleball. We hope you soak up every page of this gorgeous issue.
As I reflect on my experience raising my twins as an independent mom seeking education and opportunity, tears and struggles were many. The road to greatness is never easy. Our challenges shape us. They guide us and help us truly treasure the small moments in life. I’m incredibly grateful for the women who have helped shape me to the woman, mother and business owner I am today.

Alloy Fitness in Holladay is not a one-size fits all gym. By limiting the training sessions to no more than 6 people, we can focus on proper technique and exercises that are tailored/ appropriate for each person.
WHY IS STRENGTH TRAINING IMPORTANT?
Functional strength training has so many benefits and is especially important as we age. This type of strength training improves our full body strength, bone density, mobility, balance, and stability. Improved strength directly enhances our quality of life as well as sports performance.
DO YOU HAVE A NICHE CLIENT YOU’RE REALLY EFFECTIVE WITH?
We focus on teaching and performing proper strength training. Our clients are typically 40+ years old. We love to train people who are new to strength training and trying to get active again, as well as those who are active and want to add strength training to their routine.
Owner and Trainer at Alloy Fitness in Holladay, Angela Sudbury explains that it’s never too late to get in shape!ARTICLE BY ANGELA SUDBURY | PHOTOGRAPHY BY RIVER STEPHENSON
WHAT CAN CLIENTS EXPECT FROM A SESSION WITH YOU?
We perform a thorough assessment prior to training, that way we can tailor the workouts for each person. We demonstrate each exercise and coach clients in every session. Our studio is welcoming, and our sessions are fun, encouraging, and productive.
WHAT DRAWS YOU TO THIS LINE OF WORK?
Quality of life is everything and means different things to different people. Many of our clients golf, ski, play pickleball, hike, etc. so strength training allows them to continue doing what they enjoy. Good quality of life also includes improved confidence to do daily activities.
I absolutely LOVE helping my clients improve their quality of life. The genuine connections my team and I make with our clients are what make Alloy Holladay special.
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I have always been inspired by strong, driven women who step up to help others. Ruth BaderGinsberg and her pursuit of gender equality is at the top of my most admired women list.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
I tend to be pretty task oriented. I should have listened to my mom’s advice earlier in my life which was to “always remember to stop and smell the roses.” I am trying to do that more nowadays.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL FRIDAY NIGHT.
We are the parents of two young adults and a teenager. My ideal Friday night is to have dinner with friends, go home to hang out and visit and have our kids drift in and out and do their things. I’m pretty simple.
WHAT DOES BEAUTY MEAN TO YOU?
Women who exude beauty are both confident and kind.
"Money matters. While having abundant financial resources can't solve all life’s problems, it can almost always help.” Financial expert, Jacki Zehner, sporting a Kelly Green cashmere sweater, adorned with ‘money moves’ stitched on, spoke to the camera. Seconds later, the videographer called “cut” and the crew nodded in agreement. “I think we’ve captured it perfectly, Jacki.”
As she prepared social media content to announce her forthcoming financial summit, an extension of her popular monthly LinkedIn newsletter, Zehner affirmed: "Money is not optional. It’s a necessity. We all need it to care for ourselves and our loved ones.”
Zehner's words resonate profoundly, stemming from her experiences of comprehending the pivotal role of self-investment long before her marriage, family life, and impactful ventures materialized, such as Women Moving Millions—a nonprofit dedicated to channeling over a billion dollars towards women and girls—and her influential newsletter, SheMoney, boasting a readership exceeding 160,000.
Nearly four decades ago, her ambition led her to Goldman Sachs, where, at the age of 32, she became the youngest woman—and first female trader—to attain partner status. The firm's subsequent public offering in 1999 marked the realization of Jacki’s financial aspirations. “It happened to me, and my goal with SheMoney is to help make financial well-being a reality for thousands, if not millions, of women.”
“The path to financial engagement for women is full of potholes, but it shouldn't be. Getting good with money— earning, investing, saving, borrowing, giving, spending and protecting—is accessible to everyone. While there are an abundance of resources available to help, the journey to financial well-being is best traveled with others.”
On June 6th and 7th, you, along with 499 others, are invited to SheMoney's inaugural Summit at the Hyatt Regency in Salt Lake City. Expect engaging discussions, enlightening workshops, immersive experiences, and impactful media sessions—all centered around the theme of money. Because money talks. Money works. Money transforms. Money matters! It's time for Utah’s women+ to prosper.

How Real Housewife of Salt Lake City, Heather Gay, and co-founder, Dre Robinson, disrupted the med spa industry
ARTICLE BY SHEENA STEEDMAN PHOTOGRAPHY BY RIVER STEPHENSONLong before she stole your heart with her larger-than-life personality on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Heather Gay was… well, a real housewife. That seemingly perfect PTA mom, you’d see her gliding through the neighborhood with her stroller and three daughters "dressed to the nines," says Beauty Lab + Laser business partner, Andrea Robinson (Dre).
Meanwhile, Dre was a single mom struggling to shuttle her daughter around and working at restaurants to put herself through school.
Fast forward five years later and this unlikely pair of moms would not only become best friends, but pioneers in the med spa industry—supporting each other through divorces, business successes, Heather’s RHOSLC fame, the loss of Dre’s brother, and much more.
It all began when Heather asked Dre a life-changing question:
“What will our daughters wear to the debate tournament?”
In her typical fashion, Heather knew the answer. They’d wear matching outfits from the movie Clueless (Duh!), so if anything, they could win by their outfits alone.
Yes, they won.
After the tournament, Dre realized “there's more to this mom [Heather] than the perfect outfits and cute hair.” So at their daughters’ next school event, it was only natural for the two to reconvene. This time, Heather came with a truly life-altering question.
Heather had purchased a med spa and dreamt of turning it into something extraordinary. However, she wasn’t sure how to go about it. Dre, on the other hand, had been working in the med spa industry for over ten years and possessed the skillset to bring Heather’s dreams to fruition.
As Heather says, “Dre is the wind beneath my wings.” The rest was Beauty Lab + Laser history.
With a mission to “demystify hot girl secrets” and make beauty accessible to all, their friendship blossomed into a powerhouse partnership, affectionately dubbed “Dreather.”
One of their first moves in “pulling back the curtain” was offering their trademarked Mini Lip Plump—for everyone who wanted just a little extra pout for half of the price. It ruffled their competitors’ feathers because of the lower profit margin, but Dreather remained unphased and committed to their customers and vision.
Beauty extends beyond business for these two, it’s personal. Which is why they also guarantee results. “You're going to like how you look. No matter what it takes, we are in it with you,” says Heather.
Their latest campaign, “Beauty is for all of us,” further underscores their dedication to serving clients of all backgrounds and identities.
As Heather encapsulates, “I think beauty is when you wake up, you think of who you are, and then you look in the mirror and it reflects that.” Adding, “We say, ‘Love thy selfie.’ We know that everyone's selfie is different, but that self-love comes from a place of liking how you look. And sure, a part of that is accepting it, but a part of that is also investing in yourself to change whatever is keeping you from living your fullest life or realizing your full identity.”
Another very near and dear aspect to their business is Don’t Leave, a nonprofit that they started in honor of Dre’s brother, Tim, who she lost to suicide.
Tributed to him and those who suffer from mental illness, Beauty Lab + Laser is committed to removing tracks and other self-harm scars for free.
“I think beauty is when you wake up, you think of who you are, and then you look in the mirror and it reflects that.”
With the support of their staff, they have designated weekly blocks in their schedule solely for giving back to the community. Their hope is that the movement will catch on at other med spas around Utah and beyond.
As far as being moms and of young women, beauty is a topic you can’t get around—especially in a society where beauty serves as currency, as Heather says.
Both of them have chosen to empower their daughters to dictate their own narrative, rejecting societal pressures and embracing individuality.
“As a mom with daughters, I basically just want to remove guilt and shame and fear from as many decisions as they make. And to instead build it with autonomy and individuation and confidence,” Heather shared.
Dre echoes this sentiment, telling her daughter, “Don't let anybody else decide what you do with your body, your time, your mind, your face, all the things you are in charge of. We have autonomy to live the way we want, look the way we want, and as long as you feel good and you feel happy and you feel beautiful, that’s what's important.”
Reflecting on their journeys, both Heather and Dre offer words of wisdom to their younger selves.
“I would tell myself, you can do it. And you are more capable than you thought,” Dre mused. Heather added, “I would say to myself, the things that you know about yourself, never forget them. Because you may not understand them now, but you're going to come back to who you are.”
Particularly moved after meeting the legendary Dolly Parton, they are most inspired by women who age on their own terms (however that looks). But above all, whose kindness and creativity transcend their age and looks, which is clearly what DREATHER is aspiring to do.
“We don't think about the age or the looks of the people we most admire. We just think about the things they’ve accomplished and the way they make us feel,” Heather says.
Louder for those in the back—Heather and Dre want you to know, “You are beautiful, you deserve everything that you want in life, and we are here to help you get it.”
Stay on the lookout for the highly anticipated fifth season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City; Heather’s upcoming book, Good Time Girl; and television projects from Dre and Heather’s production company, Topnotes Inc. You can also get more Dreather on the podcast, Live Love Lab with Heather Gay.

We all have mental health. It's an inextricable part of our human experience that colors our worldview—good or bad. Which is why it's vital that we check in with ourselves and attend to our inner lives.
As a pioneer in the mental health field, Numinus offers hope with their innovative approaches and an encouraging track record in overcoming mental health challenges.
One of Numinus' groundbreaking offerings is private ketamine-assisted therapy—a guided, one-on-one experience where you are accompanied by a provider throughout the entire session. This approach has shown remarkable success in helping people overcome conditions like depression, PTSD, and OCD.
YOU TOWARD HOPE: NUMINUS’ CUTTING EDGE TREATMENTS FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH JOURNEY
“WHEN
TAKES WEEKS OR MONTHS
TO SEE BENEFITS, FOR MANY, KETAMINE CAN CAUSE SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN JUST A FEW SESSIONS.”
Dr. Scott Salomone, Medical Director at the Murray location and a practicing psychiatrist, shares his experience with patients using ketamine treatments:
"Working with ketamine has been remarkably rewarding. Ketamine promotes neuroplasticity, a term that describes the brain's ability to form new pathways. By doing so, it can help people shake up rigid ways of thinking and allows them to move toward healing. The road to healing still takes work, but ketamine can be a powerful tool for transformation. When standard care takes weeks or months to see benefits, for many, ketamine can cause significant change in just a few sessions."
Numinus is not merely a provider of care but a trailblazer in mental health research and clinical trials. They offer an opportunity to participate in studies exploring the therapeutic potential of traditional mental health medicines and alternative therapies.
In addition to transformative psychedelic treatments and traditional therapy and psychiatry, Numinus clinics provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a FDA-approved non-medication therapy. TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to activate specific brain areas associated with depression, OCD, and similar conditions.
Numinus’ comprehensive approach ensures that you receive personalized treatment tailored to your unique needs and circumstances all under one roof.
If you're like many of us who are new to the benefits of alternative means of healing, you can learn more by listening to the Numinus podcast ( https://numinus.com/en-us/learn/podcast/ what-you-need-to-know-about-ketamine-assisted-therapy/).
Wherever you are on your mental health journey, remember that you are not alone. And Numinus is one of those resources dedicated to your personalized care and guiding you toward a brighter future filled with hope and healing.

EMBARK ON A JOURNEY OF HOLISTIC HEALING WITH ISHA: LEADING PLASTIC SURGERY AFTERCARE SPECIALIST
As plastic surgery grows in Utah, stigma and "mom guilt" prevent proper aftercare. Tanisha Hicks (Isha) aims to change this. She stresses surgery impacts the whole person—body, mind, heart, and soul. At Isha Recovery & Wellness (the only black & femaleowned med spa in Utah), Isha provides mental, physical, and spiritual support throughout this transformative journey, free of judgment. She also keeps direct contact with the surgeon.
“I take vitals and help give sincere benchmarks on how their bodies are healing. I work alongside our medical director who specializes in wound care and infectious disease. We put together an entire post surgical plan and can help with pain management.”
What's your mission?
To help bridge the gap between surgery and recovery. That way, people can truly heal and grow and glow fully with their life after the knife.
Let's talk about the support you offer moms or patients after plastic surgery— what does that look like?
Being a master esthetician and a certified medical assistant, I'm very blessed to have a marriage between aesthetics and medical. I'm like a medical aunty.
I've done home health care for my patients, especially moms. I wash their hair after surgery. I help them clean up a little bit, cook the meals, and change their clothes—in a way that's not humiliating.
I take vitals and help give sincere benchmarks on how their bodies are healing. I work alongside our medical director who specializes in wound care and infectious disease. We put together an entire post surgical plan and can help with pain management.
I'm a direct connection to the surgeon. If something were to happen, then there's no playing games with apps. There's no having to call a call center.
I also administer a touch-based therapy that helps the body see results faster.
We're talking about beauty this month as well: “Beauty is for all of us.” What does that mean to you?
I think it's so beautiful to be able to wake up and know that you are 100% a different individual. And if you want to change, like with surgeries, Botox, whatever—and it makes you happy—like mentally happy, not momentarily. That's beauty to me.
What are you grateful for?
I really thank God for the endurance because this is a hard journey to be a business owner, a self employed person, a different person.

Expressing love through blooms: Mother’s Day floral designs to delight
ARTICLE BY CHRISTINA ZOLOTAIA | PHOTOGRAPHY BY BEE’S FLOWERSBee’s Flowers is a quaint floral business situated in the heart of Midvale, known for its stunning arrangements and exceptional customer service. The Bee’s Flowers was founded by Cristina Zolotaia, her passion for flowers is evident in every bouquet she creates, and her keen eye for design has earned her a loyal following of customers who appreciate her personalized touch. With a wide selection of fresh blooms sourced from local growers, Bee’s Flowers is a go-to destination for all occasions, from weddings to birthdays to everyday surprises.
Flowers are a classic and beautiful way to show appreciation for mothers on Mother’s Day. Whether you choose a traditional bouquet of roses, a colorful assortment of wildflowers.
prep:
To create a beautiful arrangement, start by selecting a variety of blooms that will complement each other in color and texture. Cut the stems at an angle and remove any excess foliage before arranging them in a vase with water or floral foam to secure the stems. Add some greenery for a finishing touch. Be sure to include a personalized note or card to make the arrangement extra special for Mom!
step one:
To build an arrangement with a more wild and natural shape, start with a container with a bit of depth.
step two:
Cut a piece of chicken wire and form it into a ball so it will fit tightly into your floral bowl. Tape the chicken wire into the floral bowl with floral tape if necessary.
step three:
This will be your grid. Forage branches to give height and clip various spring blooms in similar hues to give you an arrangement that feels monochromatic. Add a few interesting color tones for interest.
LEARN MORE: Bee’s Flowers would love to help you Celebrate Mother’s Day. Pre-ordering flowers is a great idea to ensure that your mom receives a beautiful bouquet on her special day. Avoid any last-minute hassles and ensure that she feels appreciated and loved.

Meadow Hot Springs, a natural oasis with 3 interconnected, progressively cooler geothermal springs. Located West of Meadow in Central Utah, the springs are undeveloped and sit on private property. Please be respectful; read and obey the posted signs.
Take I-15 South to Meadow. Turn south on Main Street and drive through town. About 1.5 miles from the freeway, take the first right (past the last buildings) onto a dirt road (there is no sign) and drive 4.8 miles west.
From the parking area, there is a short walk to the first spring where you will find a large pool with crystal-clear water. Temperatures stay around 100 degrees. Soak your toes or do a full body soak, there are several ledges and overhangs, which offer plenty of seating areas.
Further down the path, you'll find a larger and slightly cooler spring which remains upper 90’s year round. This figure 8 shaped pool is about 4 ft deep and then drops to about 15 ft.
Water temperatures in the 80’s, the 3rd spring is outfitted with a diving platform and shallow wading area. It also serves as a nursery area for a large population of African cichlids. These tropical and colorful fish thrive in warm water. Dangle your feet in the water and baby cichlids will provide you with a spa like pedicure!
