Welcome to Summer Fun!

Pool parties, camping trips, and vacations, oh my! What a fantastic time to share with our friends, families, and favorite people during these lazy summer days! My favorite summer memory is being at my grandparents’ home with my cousins and swimming in their ice-cold pool while having several watermelons floating around there, getting cold for us. We sat around afterward and filled ourselves with that most incredible summer fruit!

Speaking of incredible, we’ve got quite the lineup for your enjoyment during these hot nights when you’re sitting under the fan on the porch or in the air conditioning, enjoying your favorite beverage after a day at the pool! From summer skin care treatments to photo scavenger hunts and money management tips for retirement, AND a fantastic event featuring some of our incredible partners and podcasts, we’re hoping you’ll be able to connect with these experiences and get out there and make things happen for you and your tribes!

Summertime Social Podcasts

The Brand Artisan Consulting Group and LCR Media launched a summertime social series on The Brand Artisan podcast featuring Midlothian Lifestyle and Short Pump City Lifestyle partners, Dog Training Elite, DRIPBaR, Agnihotri Cosmetic Facial Surgery, and RVA Design Group. The podcasts, captured at Cameo Cakery and Cafe, presented the perfect opportunity to catch up with the City Lifestyle partners.

on Brook Road in Lakeside after a two-year search for a new location. Lash Out Beauty Bar Launches New Brand

In June, Richmond-area Lash Out Beauty Bar launched a new name, services, logo, signage, interior design, and membership offerings. Their new brand, Sage & Vine, expresses their unique approach to skincare. “Sage,” inspired by the herb’s ability to remove negative energy, promote healing, and welcome peace, and “vine,” inspired by how it nourishes and feeds the fruit.

Restaurants Next to Each other in Richmond

Siblings Tito and Estefani Padilla are opening two restaurants this summer in the former Mojo’s building on West Cary and South Laurel Streets. Tito’s Taqueria & Bar and La Fe Café. Tito’s is an authentic taqueria and bar with unique menu items run by Tito, and La Fe Cafe is a breakfast and brunch spot run by Estefani.

Paul Hearn has many things to look forward to this summer; purchasing a training facility, hiring additional staff, and offering scent training are just a few of his plans. As the summer brings more outdoor gatherings and adventures, Paul explains the importance of having a well-behaved dog if you want them to tag along at all the fun, outside summer happenings. Having recently completed scent training accreditations, he is passionate about helping dogs achieve the ability to aid their owners with severe medical conditions like diabetes and post-traumatic stress disorder. Other than training dogs, Paul shares that mountain biking at Pocahontas State Park is his favorite activity during the summer.

A new partner to Short Pump City Lifestyle, the RVA Design Group, was founded by Tiara Holloway of Vivacious Interiors by Tiara. Tiara created the group to support and provide resources to fellow designers because she found it challenging to find direction when she first started in the business. After recruiting Jessica Myrick of J. Lynn Interior Designs and Danielle Shackelford of Dani Designed It, RVA Design Group climbed to fifty members comprised of interior designers, organizers, stagers, contractors, and realtors.

With different personalities and strengths brought to the table, the three women work together to achieve the same goal of growing the group and ensuring that everybody inside the group is growing individually. Planning and attending network events are the keys to thriving, and they hope to add more realtors and builders to the RVA Design Group. When the ladies aren’t design connoisseurs, Tiara loves to walk, bike, hang out at the beach, and zipline with her son, and both Jessica and Danielle prefer to be on the sandy beaches during the summer.

When it comes to picture-perfect photography, Nia Negrette and Philip Andrews know how to deliver captivating, vivid images. Contributing photographers for  Midlothian Lifestyle and Short Pump City Lifestyle, Nia and Philip were tasked with an exciting outdoor adventure to do what they do best. With specific locations and subjects given, both photographers captured their unique interpretations of a portrait of something natural at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, a water activity at Pocahontas State Park, a dessert item from a Scott’s Addition restaurant, an architectural-type photo of Main Street Station, and a favorite attraction at Maymont Park. Their photos are powerful reminders of how beautiful our local community is through each individual lens.
