As we celebrate Father’s Day this month, we’re not just honoring the role of fatherhood, we’re recognizing the broader impact of men who lead, guide, and show up in meaningful ways for their families and their communities.
The importance of good men in a child’s life is immeasurable. Whether it’s through encouragement, structure, protection, or simply being present, men help shape the confidence, values, and worldview of the next generation. And for my boys, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the beauty of this firsthand — they are blessed with both an exceptional father and a remarkable bonus dad. Together, through their commitment to co-parenting with mutual respect and love, they’ve created a powerful foundation of stability, strength, and support that is shaping my children’s lives in ways words can’t express.
This month, I’m proud to shine a spotlight on six remarkable men in our community in our "Men of Influence" feature. These individuals exemplify the very best of what it means to be:

Captain Jason Stock has spent a lifetime on the water. With over 15 years of full-time professional experience, he’s become a standout in Florida’s fishing scene — placing in the FLW Redfish Tour, winning local kayak and billfishing tournaments, and appearing on the covers of top publications like Florida Sportsman , Saltwater Sportsman , Kayak Angler, and Louisiana Sportsman .
His journey began young, working at his family’s local kayak shop, Canoe Country Outfitters, where he fell in love with kayak fishing. The stealth of a kayak allowed him to access untouched waters and quietly pursue Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Tarpon. Over time, his passion turned into a profession, and today he runs guided charters out of his custom 26′ Yellowfin, focusing on offshore adventures along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Recently, I felt what I feared was a lump in my stomach. So I asked my husband to take a look.
He examined my stomach, poking and prodding like a doctor might. Then, solemnly, he pronounced his diagnosis: “Honey, I think you have...an ab.”
Now I’d HEARD of abs before. I’d even seen pictures. But the thought that one might actually be found somewhere on my body, particularly in the region of my stomach, was beyond my wildest imagination.
This discovery was especially remarkable when you consider that just six months earlier... well, let’s just say my stomach was more flab than ab.
To what do I owe this new found muscle, you ask?
TWO THINGS: A strength training program that has literally changed the way I look at exercise forever, and a nutrition program that helped me shed 45 pounds.
Look, I’ve belonged to health clubs in the past. The problem is, I have a job. I have a family. I have a LIFE. I just didn’t have time for a health club, too.
But what I do know now is that I can handle 20 minutes a week!
I’m not kidding. I found a semi-private fitness studio where it’s possible to achieve in one 20-minute session a week what could easily require three hours a week in the gym. I think that’s why they call it 20 Minutes to Fitness.

For Chase Maasdorp, the idea for Tour Caddy didn’t come from a high-tech lab or boardroom brainstorming session—it came from the driving range. Watching golfers scoop balls from flimsy plastic buckets, he was struck by how outdated the experience felt. That moment sparked a question: What if we could merge the sleek appeal of a golf den caddy with the interactive fun of Topgolf? From that thought, the concept for Tour Caddy—a stylish, hands-free golf ball dispenser—was born. Originally designed for himself, Chase wanted to elevate his own practice sessions. But as the idea took shape, it quickly became clear that Tour Caddy could benefit a much wider audience: weekend warriors, teaching pros, range owners, even simulator fans. The goal was simple—rethink the way golfers interact with their equipment and bring a touch of elegance and efficiency to the process.
The design approach was heavily influenced by luxury golf accessories and highend tech gadgets. Chase and his team aimed for something that looked as good as it functioned. The result? When God has blessed you, there is a responsibility to make sure you are giving back.”
Before he became the founder of a multimilliondollar business and an author inspiring people to chase their dreams, Mark Pentecost was a high school basketball coach with a big vision and a bigger leap of faith ahead of him.
“I believe dreaming is like a muscle—the more you use it, the bigger it gets. I think risk is the same way,” Mark says. And if that’s true, he’s been training both his entire life.
At just 26 years old, Mark took on his first head varsity coaching job—an ambitious move that pushed him out of his comfort zone and straight into the fire. “It was a big risk,” he recalls. “I was nervous wondering if I could run a program and do everything that was needed to make it successful.” But he did—and it became just one of several pivotal decisions that shaped his journey.
Later, Mark left the stability of teaching and coaching after 16 years to pursue a commission-only sales job with Excel Communications. There was no guaranteed paycheck, no safety net. Just grit, hustle, and belief in the dream. That experience—“eat what you kill” sales—would go on to define his relentless work ethic. “If something wasn’t working, you had to come up with a new strategy. You had to go after it.”
Eventually, that drive turned into something bigger. Together with his wife Cindy, Mark founded It Works!, funding the company with money earned from their Excel sales. Then came the move from Michigan to Florida, a decision that felt risky at the time—he worried about losing key team members—but ended up being a turning point in their story.
LEADERSHIP: FROM COURTSIDE TO THE BOARDROOM
Coaching never left Mark—it just evolved.
“I always tell people that I used to coach and teach, and they stop me right there: ‘Used to? You still are!’ And I agree,” he says.
Whether it’s calling plays on the court or building teams in the boardroom, Mark sees leadership as a consistent thread. His job today isn’t all that different: identify
talent, cultivate strengths, put people in positions where they can shine. “Just like you wouldn’t put your best threepoint shooter under the basket, you don’t want your top innovator stuck in a role that stifles creativity.”
FAITH, FAMILY, AND THE FIGHT THAT MATTERS MOST
While business is a huge part of Mark’s life, faith is the foundation.
“Faith has shaped our decisions, kept us grounded through every challenge and triumph,” he says. And that faith became even more personal when Mark found himself facing his biggest battle yet—cancer.
Now, he’s not just surviving. He’s giving back in a major way. Through partnerships with the V Foundation and Moffitt Cancer Center, and by donating 100% of the proceeds from his book Live the Life of Your Dreams to cancer research, Mark is turning his pain into purpose.
THE DREAM CYCLE
Mark’s book isn’t just a memoir—it’s a blueprint. It outlines his “dream cycle,” a seven-step system that helps people go from inspiration to execution. But if there’s one step he believes the world needs right now, it’s Step One: Get in the Game.
“Dreaming is your birthright,” Mark says. “But too often, life’s pressures convince you it’s a luxury you can’t afford.” For anyone stuck in a loop of limiting beliefs—too tired, too broke, too scared—Mark’s advice is simple: audit your time, get creative with your resources, and look for the opportunity sitting right in front of you.
