Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” If home is indeed where the heart is, to us, home can be a place we grew up or raised our families. It can be a place we feel most welcome or experienced life in a profound way. No matter what, we usually don’t confuse a house for a home unless it represents a place a life is truly lived. And while the particulars look different for each of us, the meaning and value it holds for all of us is undeniable. As we thought about home - we wanted to highlight what makes Lake Minnetonka special to all our readers that call it home. There is so much fertile ground for stories here that it is a subject we will revisit on occasion as this year and next unwind, but in this issue, we wanted to highlight a few to share. To truly unveil a home, we must see it even in the dark of night, and one business, TouchStone, accents our homes from the outside and invites us in. If you’re like me, sometimes you need a little help keeping up your home, and calling on my friend Tim is always a good solution. The Stabecks share a little insight into the real estate market, which is something they have been navigating for clients in the area for over 30 years. We introduce a new section of our magazine this month highlighting “The Banker’s Suite" in Excelsior, share a wonderful place for our furry friends to call home when we are away at Top Dog and showcase a business with all the solutions for organizing everything in our storage and closet spaces beautifully. We feel like the lucky ones as we got to learn more about the businesses and individuals that comprise this city and hope the small lens into their lives and work brings people in this community together. As you flip through the pages of this issue, we hope you’ll feel encouraged and connected to the people around you - in your city, neighborhood, and most all of - your home. Every month, we hear from readers who keep this magazine for longer than just the month labeled on the cover. They say they hold onto it for months as coffee table art or an accessory in their home. We feel proud to create a resource that is valued in our community and strive every month to deliver the value you expect. Thanks for letting us be a part of your home. See you around the Lake!

THE CURRENT MARKET After a wild few years in the housing market across the country, prices seem to be stabilizing, and this is the perfect opportunity to begin the process of finding and landing your new dream home—and/or selling your existing home. No matter the situation, having a trusted, expert partner who truly knows the area and community intimately is key to your success. Scott Stabeck and his mother Candi are 5th generation lake area natives as well as Minnetonka graduates that have been successfully selling homes around Lake Minnetonka with Edina Realty since 1987. Their deep roots in the Lake Minnetonka communities are second to none and pivotal to their client’s success and bottom line. “On the buyer side, working with an agent that is a true local expert with longevity and extensive knowledge of the local market and community is crucial,” said Scott. “This is even more critical than ever because in this climate you need someone that has the network within the local market and can potentially find inventory that might not yet be on the open market.” On the seller side, having that trusted marketing partner is crucial to maximizing your return on investment. “Having a marketing plan in place that is effective and specific to your home will prove to be more important than ever in 2023. We help to properly stage, position, and market properties to sell for top dollar,” said Scott. CONTINUED >

Experts aren’t exactly forecasting a huge housing market crash like some people might be anticipating. Rather, the market will continue to correct itself from the double-digit percentage increases in appreciation, according to Forbes. “We are starting to see pricing similar or just slightly higher than what it was pre-pandemic. The pandemic-induced chaos of multiple offers significantly over asking price with no inspections are dwindling,” said Scott. “It’s back to somewhat normal real estate practices for 2023.”

THE LOCAL AREA

While economists aren’t exactly predicting mortgage prices to plummet as fast as they skyrocketed in Q4 of 2022, 2023 could be a year of stabilization. According to Forbes, mortgage rates have slowly declined the past few months from the height of just over 7% in late 2022, but there is still skepticism if home prices will really decelerate. The market remains tight given low inventory and many people who purchased or refinanced their homes recently at a lower mortgage rate may just stay put. New home construction starts have also fallen in recent months. Candi & Scott agree. “The bottom line is, we don’t see the market declining much in the near future but have seen it level off a bit post pandemic. We continue to experience very low inventory which will keep pricing strong,” said Scott. Furthermore, each region/area in the country is completely unique, and while some areas might see prices drop, some might see prices rise a bit based on inventory levels and other factors.

Even Prince knew there was something special about Lake Minnetonka—needing to purify yourself in its waters. Minnetonka, a Dakota word meaning “big water,” certainly lives up to the name. The Lake Minnetonka area continues to remain one of the best areas in the Twin Cities to live in, and no matter the market, what makes this area special will never change. The biggest lake in the Twin Cities metro area, and ninth biggest in the state, it borders 13 cities and two different counties. The abundance of activities, sports, entertainment, and recreation for those who live in the area and for those who come to visit is endless. “Between our award-winning school districts, the general maturity of our neighborhoods, lake life recreation activities, and our amazing parks/trail systems, the Lake Minnetonka area will continue to be a coveted community in the Twin Cities,” said Candi. “It’s just a great place to live your life!” If you are interested in connecting with Scott and Candi Stabeck, visit thestabeckgroup.com or call 612.747.5863

First impressions are important, especially when it comes to your home. Spending countless summer days mowing the lawn and planting gardens does little good for your home’s landscape when the sun goes down. That’s where TouchStone Accent Lighting comes into play. TouchStone specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing lighting to illuminate outdoor spaces from dusk until dawn. If you’re considering adding lighting to your property, TouchStone’s expertise and the latest trends in the lighting industry can help make your home the envy of the neighborhood. Before adding lighting to your property, there are several things to consider. You’ll need to know why you want to add lighting, how often you plan to use the space and how bright you want the lights. Some homeowners choose to add outdoor lighting for security purposes, others for entertainment or everyday living. Whatever the reason, adding outdoor lighting can create secure spaces, enhance your property’s natural beauty and extend your living space. And TouchStone has options for essentially any part of your property, from gardens and walkways to patios, decks, driveways, and much more. Once you know exactly what your lighting will be used for, TouchStone can help develop a comprehensive plan for bringing light to your home’s landscape. TouchStone’s lighting plans include everything from the placement, design, and size of the lights to the electrical needs, the efficiency of the lights,

and the impact on the neighborhood. Having a detailed plan for the lights ensures they last longer, require little service and accent the existing landscape and architecture. “Our job is to make someone’s property look beautiful at night. Our products are designed to be inconspicuous during the day so that you don’t even notice them. And at night, they will uniquely highlight with indirect light all the striking features within the landscape or home’s architecture,” TouchStone’s owner Mark Hanson said. During the planning stages, you may also want to consider what is trending in the outdoor lighting industry before committing to a light fixture. One of the current trends in the industry, and one TouchStone is leaning heavily into, is solar. The benefits of solar landscape lights are extensive. In addition to being beneficial for the environment, solar is a cost-effective option for those worried about a high electric bill or possible repair parts. Solar is also simple to install and accents your home’s landscape beautifully. Solar lights can be used anywhere but are especially popular for docks and marinas, gardens, decks, and walkways. TouchStone debuted their line of solar lights, known as SunTino, after spending years perfecting them and ensuring they were of similar premium quality to their other brands. According to Mark, TouchStone’s solar line addresses a part of the market that doesn’t currently exist. Mark said many of the solar lights on the market are easily damaged and provide little light whereas SunTino lights are reliable and provide ample light for any use. “What I set out to do with our product is design something that will give people a ‘wow’ factor. That they won’t believe [solar] can be that bright, that it’s reliable, that it’s durable,” Mark said. If you’re considering adding solar lighting to your property, TouchStone can provide guidance on the best placement and style of light.

“What I set out to do with our product is design something that will give people a ‘wow’ factor.” In addition to solar lighting, TouchStone offers various 12-volt LED light fixtures for every area of your property. Whether you’re looking to spruce up your garden, add lights on your deck or even illuminate your dock, TouchStone can help. They offer full design and installation plans for garden and walkway lighting, floodlighting, hardscape and outdoor living lighting, water and dock lighting, and commercial lighting. TouchStone also offers other packages for any DIYer that provide everything you’ll need, including install instructions with optional add-ons. CONTINUED >

While TouchStone does work across the country, they still consider themselves a small company with a focus on cleanliness and camaraderie. Mark and his wife, Lisa, continue to meet directly with clients to design the best lighting plan for the property. They also pride themselves on ensuring their installs are spotless when the team leaves. While adding outdoor lighting to your home’s landscape may not be at the top of your to-do list, it just may end up being one of your favorite projects. “At the end of the day, we unanimously will hear that it was one of the favorite home improvement projects that [homeowners] did. Or, that they appreciate it or like it much more than they ever envisioned they would,” Mark said. If you’re ready to illuminate your home visit touchstonelights.com.

Spotlight: A6 Homes YOUR FRIENDLY, NEIGHBORHOOD HANDYMAN, TIM, IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR HOME PROJECT TO-DO LIST

ARTICLE BY LAUREN BEAUBAIRE

Whoever is number one on your speed dial, you may want to preemptively apologize as they’ll now be bumped to the number two spot to make room for your new favorite neighborhood handyman, Tim Addink, owner of A6 Homes. “I do a bit of everything,” says Tim. “Anything from changing a door knob to full kitchen remodels.” Tim is a renaissance man of his trade. “One thing I love about handyman work is the variety and getting to work with my hands. I love getting the right tool for the job though my wife would probably say I have too many tools,” laughs Tim. Tim has a full workshop to prepare for the job at hand. “Currently, I’m in the process of building a screen door for a client, but I do everything from painting, tiling, LVP flooring, drywall, to room remodels and minimal plumbing and electrical work, truly a bit of everything.” Doing handyman work since high school, Tim filled the family home with his numerous projects, building cabinets, a bookcase, shelves, a TV stand, and a crib for his sister. It wasn’t soon after Tim took his hobby to the next level, taking on bigger remodeling jobs for outside clients before opening his own business, A6 Homes.

Tim Addink

Owner of A6 Homes

“I want to make sure you’re proud of your home, that you feel safe in your house and love where you live.”

“I started A6 Homes after seeing a need in the market,” explains Tim. “While doing remodel jobs here and there, I talked to a lot of people who were looking for a reliable and trustworthy person. Someone they could hand over their keys to and say, ‘Hey, can you take care of this?’ and know that it will get done.” Tim also holds a general contractor’s license, opening the door for larger projects. And after redoing his entire home, Tim’s ready to take on more remodeling jobs. “My wife and I had bought a foreclosed home in rough shape. We gutted the basement, completely moved the kitchen, and removed several walls to open up the upstairs area. It was a big undertaking but well worth it,” says Tim. “Now, I’d like to start taking on a few smaller remodeling projects in addition to the handyman work. Whether it’s a laundry room, a bathroom, or kitchen.” Currently, Tim is a one-man band. However, he works with a network of trusted colleagues in case a project falls outside his expertise. “I want my clients to have the best experience. So, whether that’s with me or with someone else, I will recommend either way,” says Tim. Tim’s easy-going and friendly personality makes any home project a stress-free experience. “I love the interaction with my clients,” says Tim. “I want to make sure you’re proud of your home, that you feel safe in your house and love where you live.” If you need a project done, there’s no rigamarole. Text or leave a message with Tim directly describing what you need to be done, including some pictures if you’d like, and he’ll schedule a call to discuss the project. “I do like to come out most of the time to look it over, and then within two or three days, you’ll receive a quote,” explains Tim. “I try to make things as easy as possible for everyone.” Looking to the future, Tim hopes to expand A6 Homes, bringing on more talented handymen to have a few more crews available to his clients. But for now, Tim is happy to take on your home project to-do list so you can finally have the home you’ve always envisioned and don’t have to resign yourself to constantly explaining to guests how you have to jiggle the bathroom door handle just right. From Design to Install: Closet Factory Has Got You Covered

30

M UST SE E | HOM E SERVI CE S

150% THRILLED ARTICLE BY SARAH KNIEFF | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANDREW VICK

When Edina couple Theresa and Doug Williams became owners of Closet Factory in 2021, they knew they had made the right decision. “Our goal was to find a business where we could both use our backgrounds and have fun while working together,” Theresa said. “We looked at many opportunities and kept coming back to Closet Factory.” The duo brings years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising and management to the company. Closet Factory originally opened in 1997 and since then has expanded its home organization systems from closets to something for every room in the house – wall beds, laundry room cabinets, entertainment centers, pantries, garage shelves and more. The Williams’ location also has a showroom. “People can visit our showroom and see versions of all the different spaces we design in a variety of colors and styles,” Theresa says. “We’ve really tried to make a unique guest experience. We are constantly updating our showroom with the latest designs and accessories in

home organization. Accent lighting is the hot trend in closets and there are several ways to incorporate smart lighting in your space.” To start the process of a dream closet, people can request a free in-home consultation where a designer will measure the space, inventory storage needs and help create the perfect custom solution. “Our designers take great pride in their work,” Theresa says. “If you are creating a closet, they will ask how you fold or hang your clothes, measure how many items of each category you have and attend to all those fine little details. If you are creating or updating a home office, they ask how many files you want to store in cabinets and what computer equipment you have.” After the collaborative design process is complete, the layout will go to Closet Factory’s in-house manufacturing shop where everything is custom made. “We work with the highest quality materials and purchase as much as we can from Minnesota or Midwest companies,” Theresa says. “We also partner with a lot of exclusive brands to deliver superior results.”

Once the system has been fabricated, Closet Factory’s installation team will secure it safely on the customer’s wall. “Our team from designers to installers are just incredible,” Theresa says. “We are like a family here.” The whole team’s goal is to have each customer be 150% thrilled - not just satisfied. “It’s incredible to see people’s faces light up after their system is installed,” Theresa shares. “It’s truly rewarding, and I want to do a fantastic job, so clients call us when they are ready for their next project.” Now over two years as owners, the Williams still love what they do. “You know it’s awesome being the owners because we can bring our dog Nemo with us every day,” Theresa explains. “When our three kids are not at college or working, they are interested in learning about the business too.” Their children grew up in Edina and Theresa said she wouldn’t have it any other way. “Doug and I love our community,” she says. “We have amazing neighbors and our whole family has made lifelong friends in the area. I have lived in quite a few different places, but Edina is something special. Oh, and we just love the nature trails!” The whole family has always been active in their community. The kids have played for many local sports teams and enjoyed the programs at St. Patrick’s Church. Theresa was president of the Edina Youth Softball Association and coached for years. She also served on the Edina Early Learning Center board. For more information about Closet Factory, visit closetfactory.com or stop by the showroom located at 1991 Annapolis Lane, Plymouth.

New in Lake Minnetonka: The Banker’s Suite A SNEAK PEEK AT EXCELSIOR’S NEWEST SHORT-TERM BOUTIQUE RENTAL From left to right: Chris Dennis, Tyler Nelson, Shelly Peschel, Tim O'Connor, Steve Longman

ARTICLE BY LAUREN BEAUBAIRE | PHOTOGRAPHY BY EMILY JOHN The second floor of the historic Minnetonka Bank Building on 2nd Street in Excelsior is undergoing a complete renovation, transforming the 120-year-old apartment space above Alerus Bank into a stunning short-term boutique rental with the Hotel Excelsior. Local resident Chris Dennis of Lakes Area Realty, along with lifelong friend Daniel Gregoire, purchased the property about a year ago before partnering with Tyler Nelson, owner of the Hotel Excelsior. “I’m excited to have a two-bedroom suite to offer guests,” says Tyler. “I’d love to give families and groups the option to stay together in one suite, as currently we only have studios and one-bedroom suites available.” Guests can sprawl out and truly unpack in the nearly 1300 square foot suite, complete with a primary suite, three bathrooms with heated floors, a secondary bedroom, state-of-the-art kitchen, dining room, and a spacious,

“Our goal is for guests to feel like they stayed in a special place. A place they want to tell their friends about and come back to. Something Excelsior can be proud of.” great room. “We want guests to feel like they can invite people over and entertain,” says Chris. “To have a drink before heading out to explore downtown Excelsior, grabbing dinner at one of the many amazing restaurants just steps away, watching the fireworks, heading over to the lake, all the events are right outside our front door; we’re in the heart of the historic district.” Chris also brought on Tim O’Connor and Steve Longman from Align Building and Remodeling as the general contractor to help meld the old with the new, bringing the building into the 21st century while preserving the Banker’s Suite’s historic charm. The suite was added as a second-floor addition in 1904 to serve as offices for the St. Paul Remedy Company. It was later converted to a two-bedroom apartment during the Nygren’s ownership. Jan Nygren, among many others, called the apartment home over the past 45+ years. Keeping many of the historic architectural elements from the original building, the suite will showcase the original brick walls, long hidden behind lath and plaster, and windows to look exactly like the original but new and energy efficient. The team is also refinishing the original Douglas Fir wood flooring. Not a small feat as the team discovered there were three layers of flooring, including vinyl they had to pull up to reveal the beautiful, original wood floors. “It’s a very old building, so you don’t know what’s going to be there when you start opening it up,” explains Tim. “We ran into a number of surprises that required some problem-solving.” During demolition, they discovered a 22 by 22-inch brick and concrete column that would land right in the middle of the bedroom. “Practically in the center of the bed,” laughs Steve. “Not too comfortable, so we had to go back and redesign the floor plan.” Working alongside architect Mike Sharratt, the crew redesigned the floor plan, raised the ceiling

to create sweeping 14-foot vaulted ceilings, and designed a beautiful wooden beam to encase an existing structural beam running through the center of the room to look like an authentic 1900s beam ceiling. “I love the contrast between the elegant architectural treatments and rustic brick and beams,” says Steve. “It’s going to be gorgeous.” Shelly Peschel, designer and owner of Melody Hill Design, is bringing Chris’ design vision to life. “Chris was inspired by a recent trip to Europe, sending me photos from different hotels and restaurants he visited,” says Shelly. “We wanted to design the space in a way that embraces the historical elements with a fresh and modern point of view.” The primary suite will feature a black and white marble bathroom, with streamlined furnishings throughout the suite, including LED chandeliers, unique glassware pieces from the Maker’s Studio in Excelsior, modern furniture designs from DWELL44 in St. Louis Park, and historical photos of Excelsior so guests can experience the city’s rich history. “We want to create an elevated but comfortable and inviting space for guests,” explains Shelly. “Our goal is for guests to feel like they stayed in a special place. A place they want to tell their friends about and come back to. Something Excelsior can be proud of.” The Banker’s Suite is expected to be available at the beginning of April. “We already have several bookings,” says Tyler. It’s clear the new suite will be a special addition to Excelsior due to the incredible work and creativity of the Banker’s Suite crew. “The team really clicked from the beginning,” says Shelly. “It’s great when everybody’s close. We’re all invested in making this a successful project,” says Tim. Chris affirms, “Working with this team has been amazing. The creative solutions and collaboration between Tim, Steve, Shelly, and Tyler will culminate in a unique and beautiful space for guests to stay in when they visit Excelsior.”

To p D o g i s To p N o t c h HOW TO CREATE THE BEST HOME FOR YOUR PET, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE AWAY

ARTICLE BY JEN LARSEN FORTNER

The tumult of the past few years has disrupted typical work and life patterns, yet many have used this unique opportunity of being home more to welcome new pets into their lives. While adding a furry family member to the household is exciting, it’s not without adjustments. Jean Stelten-Beuning, owner of Top Dog Country Club, has cared for and considered the needs of so many dogs over the past 23 years; her expert advice is always welcome. Jean recommends setting expectations and training your new dog on house rules. She says, “Dogs want to please their people, and they need to understand expectations and should expect family members to be consistent in what is allowed and not allowed. One of the greatest mistakes new dog owners make is to confuse and stress their dogs out because one family member is strict and another has no rules, boundaries, or expectations.”

40

P E T CA R E | TR AVEL

Setting a routine is also important. “Dogs are creatures of habit, and they love routine. The more consistent we can be with their daily routine, the less stress they experience.” Jean encourages owners to provide an atmosphere where their dogs can expect consistency regarding feeding, exercise, and comings and goings. She says, “When it’s time to leave, don’t make a big fuss . . . pet your dog and let him know you will see him later. Give him an interactive toy stuffed with some treats to occupy his time. This same rule applies when dropping the dog off for their vacation. Don’t make a big production out of it. If you do not stress, your dog will not stress.” With spring break quickly approaching, many families will be traveling and have to leave their beloved dogs in the care of others. Top Dog Country Club provides a home away from

home where their comfort is priority number one, an idea sparked from Jean’s own personal experience. “33 years ago, I went on a mission to forever change the way dogs are cared for when their people travel. As a former Vice President with Marriott Lodging, my work demanded constant travel, and when a house and dog sitter canceled on me, the inspiration for Top Dog Country Club was born.” If you are leaving your pet for the first time in the care of others, Jean recommends touring any potential facility and asking key questions beforehand to ensure a successful stay for the dog and a relaxing time away for the owner. “Always ask for a tour. If the answer is no, walk away. A facility should be proud to show off its ‘digs’. That being said, operating efficiently entails lots of moving parts and functions that need to stay on schedule. So, for instance, if you show up during busy arrival or CONTINUED >

A quality facility puts the dogs first and tries to get clients checked in/out and on their way.” Top Dog offers not only luxurious accommodations but also excellent staff-to-dog ratios and a multitude of activities to ensure your pet has as great of a vacation as you do. Located on 39 acres of land, there is plenty of room to play and run and socialize outdoors as well as indoors. Your pooch can even enjoy swimming in the pool! As in many homes, our dog is the favorite family member, with no other real contenders. Top Dog ensures that dogs and

their families experience only the very best. Jean says, “At the end of the day, I know that the dogs are happy and tired . . . and they sleep very well. They are tucked in with bedtime stories. At night, you can hear a pin drop in this building; the dogs are wiped out and resting, getting ready for more fun tomorrow. When it is time to go home, most of our guests sleep for two days, happy and tired. We call it The Top Dog Hangover.” It sounds like vacation bliss. Now, if only dogs could post Yelp reviews. 5 Hot Trends

in Kitchen Design A peek at what’s ahead: bold cabinet colors, statement hardware and swaths of stone.

ARTICLE BY HALEY WILLIAMS PHOTOGRAPHY BY J.A. STENGER PHOTOGRAPHY

When designing your dream kitchen, it’s important to balance timeless features with elements that reflect your personality and design aesthetic. You may not plan to remodel your kitchen each year (does anyone do that?), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t creative ways to keep your space feeling modern and fresh. We spoke with interior designer Brooke Cover about the trends in kitchen design she’s seeing this year, touching on everything from cabinet colors and lighting to tile and countertop combos she’s loving.

TA K I N G T H E C O U N T E R M AT E R I A L U P THE BACKSPLASH Although the iconic subway tile backsplash is timeless in its own right, Brooke says she is seeing a big shift toward marble slab backsplashes — which add drama and depth to the kitchen. Not only is it easier to clean than tile, but a marble backsplash and countertop also sets the tone for the entire space and makes a big statement.

44

D E C OR T R E N D S | HOM E + DE S I GN

WA R M I N G U P THE WHITE We doubt the classic white kitchen will ever completely go out of style, but trends show people are going away from the white kitchen and gray cabinets. They’re opting for white mixed with warmer wood tones, dark greens and blues. Some homeowners are mixing vintage in with the new and modern through butcher block islands or other unique cabinetry choices. Black is making a bold comeback in some kitchens, while others usher in warmth through painted islands or other darker contrast tiles in the bar area. You don’t have to leave behind the timelessness when you warm up your space if you opt for equally timeless black and wood-stained accents. If you want a quick refresh, consider adding pops of wood through cutting boards or other decor accents on countertops or open shelves.

HIDDEN STORAGE, VISIBLE APPLIANCES Gone are the days of it being a given to hide the fridge behind custom cabinets. Many brands of appliances are so beautiful and sleek these days, homeowners want to see them rather than hide them behind a cabinet facade. Small appliances, however, are another story. Custom cabinets and “appliance garages” aren’t going away anytime soon. Form and function make them a desirable addition to any kitchen. CONTINUED >

BOLD H A R D WA R E Mixed metals and sizes are having a moment in kitchens across America. Brooke says not to shy away from a variety of sizes of pulls and handles, depending on the drawer and door size. For instance, you may see a mixture of longer pulls on larger drawers and square knobs on smaller glassware cabinets - and that’s more than just ok - that’s recommended. As the heart of the home, kitchens shouldn’t feel sterile and hyper-coordinated - they should feel inviting and tailored to the space. Since no two kitchens will be exactly alike, feel free to boldly mix the hardware sizes and styles to the needs of your kitchen.

C O N T R A S T, C O N T R A S T, CONTRAST!

Brooke’s Pro Tip: I suggest viewing countertop slabs in person vs. a small sample piece because each slab has unique movement and colors. They are all so beautiful and works of art. Taking a trip to the warehouse will really help a client to understand the different types available and see the difference in the look of the material.

D E C OR T R E N D S | HOM E + DE S I GN

From painted and stained islands to dark lower cabinetry with bright white uppers and mixed lighting fixtures, contrast is the name of the game this year. You’ll see this juxtaposition between clean white and darker colors or even this year’s favorite - greens and blues - all over newly designed kitchens. You’re not breaking any rules by coordinating sculptural pendants over the kitchen island with more vintage-inspired gooseneck sconces over the standalone bar or a chandelier over the eat-in kitchen.
