LIFESTYLE LETTER
Celebrate Your Style! Hello neighbors, and welcome to our September “Style” issue! True style is not about looking like a supermodel or having a perfectly spotless house. It’s all about confidence, feeling good, and expressing who you really are. As the weather starts to cool down and we trade our summer flip-flops for cozy fall sweaters, we are excited to highlight local businesses that help you find your personal flair. First, style is not just for your wardrobe—it’s for your living room, too! We chat with Heather Osmond of Osmond Designs, who has spent over two decades helping families transform their houses into beautiful homes. Her team focuses on creating spaces that are both timeless and livable. After all, there's no point in buying a gorgeous couch if you are too scared to actually sit on it! Heather believes that beautiful homes are wonderful, but beautiful lives are even better. Next up, we dive into fashion with Tiffany Colaizzi and her popular luxury consignment boutique, Name Droppers. For over 30 years, Tiffany has been helping local shoppers find authentic designer clothing at a fraction of the normal retail price. It’s the perfect place to experience the thrill of treasure hunting without emptying your wallet. We also take a trip to the Gallery of Aesthetics Medical Spa to meet Dr. Jeffrey and Julie Ayers. They’ve created a beautiful space that looks as good as it feels. With walls filled with works of art from many perspectives, you feel comfortable looking and feeling exactly like your best self. Finally, we look at beauty with the wonderful team at Shine Cosmetics. Owners Chandler Taylor, Darcey Wilde, and Erin Richardson believe that confidence is the most powerful beauty product you can possibly wear. Their makeup is not made to cover your flaws, but to help you recognize and celebrate the natural beauty you already have. Whatever your personal style may be, we hope this issue inspires you to embrace it with confidence this September. Happy reading! DESIGNING Homes Where LIFE TRULY Happens Heather Osmond creates timeless homes designed for living and making lasting memories. ARTICLE BY KELLENE RICKS ADAMS PHOTOGRAPHY BY JEN FOX PHOTOGRAPHY
Life’s most meaningful moments happen at home, where families gather around the dinner table, children grow up, holidays are celebrated, and memories are made. As the owner of Osmond Designs, Heather Osmond believes that creating the space for those meaningful moments is at the heart of what interior design is all about. “Beautiful homes are wonderful,” she notes, “but beautiful lives are even better. Helping families create spaces they love— and that love them back—is what inspires me every day.” For more than two decades, that philosophy has guided Osmond’s work at Osmond Designs, where she and her team of talented designers, sales professionals, warehouse specialists, delivery experts, and administrative staff has helped thousands of Utah families transform houses into places that reflect how they actually want to live, not just how a room is supposed to look. It’s also what led Osmond to open her own business. She wanted to create something that did not fully exist in the Utah market at the time: a place where homeowners could receive professional interior design guidance while shopping for quality furniture, all under one roof. She believed clients deserved more than a salesperson pointing them toward a showroom floor—they deserved a trusted advisor who could help them avoid costly mistakes and make decisions they would still love decades later. That vision became Osmond Designs, a full-service interior design firm and furniture retailer that has grown into one of Utah’s most trusted names in the industry, working with homeowners throughout Utah as well as clients across the country on everything from cozy family rooms to sprawling luxury properties. At Osmond Designs, every project starts with a single question: How do you want your home to make you feel? The answer

becomes the foundation for the entire design. The company’s specialty is designing homes that feel both timeless and livable, no small feat in an industry driven by trends. “Anyone can follow what’s popular today,” observes Osmond. “The real challenge is designing a home that still feels beautiful 10 years from now.” At Osmond Designs, clients won’t experience any pressure, intimidation, or pushy sales tactics. Instead, designers listen first, whether someone needs a single lamp or an entire custom home furnished from scratch. And every customer gets luxury-level service, regardless of budget. For Osmond, the most rewarding part of the job is the moment a client walks into a completed home for the first time. Through the years, many clients have become lifelong friends as her team has watched families grow and homes evolve through every season of life. “Great design doesn’t simply fill a room,” Osmond says. “It changes the way people feel inside it. We aren’t simply designing rooms. We’re helping create the backdrop where life happens.” A lifelong Utahn, Osmond attended Provo High School and BYU before putting down roots in Orem, then Cedar Hills, and later Alpine, where she lives today. She is the mother of four children, who she calls her greatest inspiration, and outside of work, she enjoys traveling, supporting local businesses, serving in her church, and mentoring fellow entrepreneurs. Many may recognize her last name from the world of music and entertainment. “I’m honored to be part of the Osmond family and the legacy it represents,” Osmond says. “Growing up in a family known for hard work, integrity, faith, and services taught me lessons that continue to influence the way I lead my businesses today.” Looking ahead, Osmond wants to keep expanding the company’s design services while reaching more homeowners through television, radio, public speaking, and community events, believing informed homeowners make better decisions. She’s also energized by how quickly Utah is growing. The Jordan River area, she notes, is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, and she’s proud to be part of an entrepreneurial spirit that fuels innovation without losing sight of family and community.

More than Furniture— The Osmond Designs Difference Osmond Designs has served Utah homeowners for more than two decades, combining full-service interior design with quality furniture in retail showrooms located in Lehi and Orem. Services span nearly every stage of a home, from new construction selections and remodel design to space planning, lighting, window treatments, rugs, artwork, and professional home styling. The company also works with commercial spaces, model homes, and vacation properties throughout Utah and beyond. In addition, Heather Osmond is owner and CEO of Best of State, celebrating Utah’s top businesses and entrepreneurs. “I believe when local businesses succeed, our entire community benefits,” she says.
A Roth Conversion May —or May Not— Be Your Best Move Roth conversions have become one of the most talked-about retirement tax strategies, but they aren't the right answer for everyone. While converting money from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA can create tax-free growth and tax-free qualified withdrawals, the decision should be based on a careful analysis of your overall retirement plan. A Roth conversion may make sense if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later, believe tax rates will increase, want to reduce future required minimum distributions (RMDs), or hope to leave tax-free assets to your heirs. One of the most favorable opportunities often occurs during the early years of retirement. Employment income has typically ended, taxable income may be temporarily lower, and married couples can still take advantage of the wider Married Filing Jointly tax brackets before the surviving spouse eventually files as Single.
I F YO U A R E READING THIS... S O I S YO U R B E S T C L I E N T.
2 OU T OF 3 of our readers regularly purchase from our ads.
However, converting isn't always the winning strategy. Many retirees can withdraw substantial amounts from traditional retirement accounts while remaining within their standard deduction. Current tax law provides a standard deduction, and additional deductions may be available for taxpayers aged 65 and older. Recent legislation has expanded those benefits even further. Tax laws are subject to change, and the impact should be evaluated based on individual circumstances. If retirement account balances are modest and other taxable income—such as pensions or rental income—is limited, paying taxes on a Roth conversion today may provide little or no long-term advantage. It's also important to consider the ripple effects. A Roth conversion can increase Medicare IRMAA surcharges, raise the taxation of Social Security benefits, and push income into higher tax brackets. The best answer isn't always "convert" or "don't convert." It's developing a tax strategy that minimizes lifetime taxes while supporting your retirement and estate planning goals. If you'd like to have a no-obligation discussion regarding your own situation, feel free to give me a call at 801-988-5827.

FASHION’S
Best-Kept
ARTICLE BY HEATHER L. KING PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF NAME DROPPERS
SECRET
Name Droppers proves that great fashion is alway in style. For 31 years, Tiffany Colaizzi has helped Utah shoppers discover designer fashion, hidden treasures, and the excitement of finding something truly special. Long before luxury resale became one of fashion’s fastest-growing industries, she recognized that authentic designer fashion could be both attainable and sustainable. What began as a dream has grown into one of Utah’s premier luxury designer consignment destinations. As a 20-year-old single mother with an entrepreneurial spirit and a lifelong love of fashion, Colaizzi opened Name Droppers with a simple vision: create a place where people could purchase authentic designer fashion at a fraction of retail prices while giving others the opportunity to earn money from pieces they no longer wore. More than three decades later, that vision has grown into two locations and a community of more than 30,000 consignors who have trusted Name Droppers with their wardrobes. Shoppers return not only for luxury handbags, designer clothing, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind finds, but also for the thrill of discovery. With new arrivals every day, no two visits are ever the same. While the ever-changing inventory keeps customers coming back, Colaizzi believes the true success of Name Droppers has never been measured by the designer labels on the racks—it’s the relationships built over 31 years.
20
FASH ION F OR WA R D | SH OPPIN G
“The most rewarding part has been the people,” she says. “We’ve watched mothers introduce their daughters to Name Droppers, and now those daughters are bringing in their own children. Being part of so many families’ lives over the years has been incredibly meaningful.” Creating that sense of connection has always been her goal. “I want every customer to feel welcomed, valued, and cared for,” Colaizzi says. “To me, a locally owned business is about more than retail. It’s about building relationships, creating jobs, and creating a place where people feel they belong.” She also credits her dedicated team for helping create the warm, welcoming experience that has become synonymous with Name Droppers. Together, they’ve built more than a successful business—they’ve created a destination where customers feel at home and where luxury fashion is both accessible and approachable. For Colaizzi, success has never been measured solely by designer names or decades in business. It’s evident by the trust she’s earned, the friendships she’s built, and the generations of families who continue to make Name Droppers part of their lives. After 31 years, that’s the legacy she’s most proud of: proving that while great fashion never goes out of style, treating people well never does either.

The Art Behind True Beauty For Dr. Jeffrey Ayers, medicine has always been about restoring people—physically and emotionally. That philosophy is revealed across the walls of Gallery of Aesthetics Medical Spa in South Jordan, where nearly 20 carefully chosen works of art surround patients long before a single procedure begins. Dr. Ayers and his wife, Julie, built the gallery around a simple belief: Beauty begins with how you feel. Their aim is for every client to leave the spa feeling renewed, confident, seen, and inspired. Dr. Ayers spent more than 30 years in family medicine, including three years as a staff physician at a naval base in Japan and many more with Intermountain Healthcare. He is still in practice with Marathon Health in Sandy, and his focus has been preventive care, weight loss, and hormone optimization. Roughly 20 years ago, a growing interest in aesthetics prompted him to seek additional training that led to his work with the National Institute of Medical Aesthetics, where he served as medical director for more than a decade. Maintaining a primary care practice alongside his aesthetic work, he says, keeps what he does at the spa firmly grounded in both medicine and artistry. That grounding shapes how he talks about beauty. “Aesthetics is the art and science of skin,” he says. “A lot of people have the credentials to do this work, but not everyone has the understanding or the eye for providing an excellent result.”

A RT IST ’S PA LE T T E | ARTS + CU LT U RE
For Dr. Ayers and Julie, refining someone’s appearance is a craft as much as a clinical skill. The art on the walls is an extension of that belief. The collection began with a painting gifted by an artist when the couple married nearly 40 years ago. It has since grown into a rotating gallery of about 20 pieces—some that invite reflection, some that draw a smile, and most centered on a single idea: Ordinary women, portrayed honestly, revealing their beauty regardless of appearance. Among favorites are early works by Canadian artist Danny McBride, whose women in distinctive hats began as rustic figures and, over the years, grew statelier and more self-possessed. Dr. Ayers also commissioned a New Zealand artist to paint a bicycle resting on a cobblestone road in a quiet French village, created to mark the spa’s first anniversary.
Dr. Jeffrey and Julie Ayers
“The art distracts from the unrealistic level of beauty seen in the media,” he says. “It reflects beauty that’s reasonable and achievable.” Rather than chasing perfection, Dr. Ayers guides patients toward something more durable: Loving the way they look and feel, through personalized care and results that build genuine confidence. Julie, who cofounded the spa and manages its daily operations, brings a complementary perspective. A former gospel singer from Des Moines, Iowa, she met Dr. Ayers when he was in medical school. Her own frustrating experiences at other spas sparked her passion for building something different. Those visits, she says, never delivered a real plan behind them. Today, she is devoted to understanding exactly what each patient hopes to achieve—and to ensuring the treatment plan is built around those goals rather than a menu of services. It’s an unusual pairing: A physician with three decades of clinical practice and a curator’s instinct for what beauty actually looks like. But at the Gallery of Aesthetics, the two are inseparable. The art on the walls is not just decorative. Rather, it’s a statement of intent, a reminder that the goal was never to make anyone into someone else—it was always to help them look and feel like themselves.

SHINE COSM ETICS Fall Beauty Begins with Confidence
Shine Cosmetics owners Erin Richardson, Darcey Wilde, Chandler Taylor
Shine Cosmetics isn’t about covering flaws—it’s about helping women recognize the beauty they already possess. Begun by Founder and Co-Owner Chandler Taylor alongside Darcey Wilde, CEO and co-owner; and Erin Richardson, co-owner; the Utahbased company was named and created to help customers build confidence, inside and out. “We are the beauty brand that believes confidence is the most powerful beauty product you can wear,” Wilde explains. “The right products help women feel authentically themselves,
allowing their personality, joy, and confidence to be what people notice first.” For anyone trying Shine Cosmetics for the first time, Wilde hopes, “they discover that they’re more beautiful than they’ve been giving themselves credit for.” That philosophy is ref lected in every product. “If Shine plays a small part in helping women see their own beauty and value,” Wilde says, “then we’ve accomplished what matters most.”

New Doors From One Day Doors & Closets of Utah Fall is one of the best times to refresh your home with upgraded interior doors. Often an overlooked opportunity, new doors can have a dramatic effect because every room has a door and updating them creates a cohesive transformation throughout the entire home. Many homeowners move to door upgrades after remodeling a kitchen, so they can choose door styles that complement their new cabinetry and tie the home’s design together. One Day Doors & Closets of Utah utilizes proprietary 3D measuring technology to create custom-fit doors that can be installed in as little as one day. Standard designs come in a crisp white finish as well as ready-to-stain wood, so homeowners can match colors to the aesthetic of their residence. Upgrading doors instantly elevates every space, proving that a whole-home makeover doesn’t always require a major renovation. CONTINUED >

Fireplace Upgrades from Ask a Dad Handyman Few home improvements make a bigger first impression than a fireplace upgrade. As the natural focal point of a living room or great room, a beautifully redesigned fireplace instantly adds warmth, character, and architectural interest. Whether replacing outdated materials with sleek stone, modern tile, or a custom mantel, the transformation can completely change the look and feel of a space. “The one thing we do most is upgrading fireplaces,” says Delena Haywood, operations director at Ask a Dad Handyman. “It brings huge value when walking into a house because it’s such a statement piece. It gets people talking and completely brings character and warmth to an empty or plain space.” The result is a room that feels more inviting, stylish, and thoughtfully designed.

SECRET MENU ITEM!
ARTICLE BY HEATHER L. KING

Bout Time Neighborhood Grill, a new
family-friendly restaurant in Bluffdale, offers a surprise deal.
Bluffdale’s dining scene has a new reason to celebrate thanks to Bout Time Neighborhood Grill, a fresh, family-focused dining experience. The opening of the new restaurant this summer came in response to south valley families looking for a casual place where everyone could enjoy a great meal together. While the upstairs Bout Time Pub & Grub continues to offer the game-day atmosphere guests know and love, the downstairs Neighborhood Grill provides a welcoming space where parents, grandparents, and kids can all dine together. “We’re thrilled to bring Bout Time Neighborhood Grill to Bluffdale,” says Dan Eckersley, Director at Bout Time Pub & Grub. “For years, our guests have loved the Bout Time energy, and now, the whole family can experience it together. We’ve kept everything people love about our atmosphere but added new features like a dedicated kids’ menu and a dirty soda fountain bar.” Bout Time Neighborhood Grill

To welcome the readers of Jordan River City Lifestyle to the new restaurant, Bout Time Neighborhood Grill is offering a secret menu item available only by request—the Backyard BBQ Pizza combo. For just $20, your family can enjoy a Backyard BBQ Pizza paired with a pitcher of draft root beer, making it the perfect meal to share after a soccer game, family outing, or weeknight dinner. The pizza is a twist on backyard barbecue favorites. Instead of a traditional tomato sauce, it starts with a creamy ranch base before being topped with tender pulled pork, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and finished with Bout Time’s signature Kickin’ Bourbon sauce for a smoky, sweet kick. Since it isn’t listed on the regular menu, you’ll need to ask for it by name! In addition to the secret menu item, families will find a menu featuring scratchmade favorites like hand-cut fries, burgers, wings, salads, pizzas, and shareable appetizers plus kid-friendly additions like milkshakes and a dirty soda bar.
BACKYARD BBQ PIZZA COMBO Neighborhood Grill is a delicious new dining option for young families seeking convenient local options as new neighborhoods, schools, and businesses continue to emerge in the area. It’s a great destination for everything from after-school dinners to birthday celebrations because the menu offers something for everyone and the atmosphere is friendly and casual. “We can’t wait to welcome parents, kids, and neighbors through our doors for great food and fun,” Eckersley says. So, consider this your Jordan River corridor insider tip. The next time you visit Neighborhood Grill, ask for the Backyard BBQ Pizza combo. It’s a deliciously affordable secret available exclusively to those who know it’s there.

Why testosterone matters for both you and your guy
H
ear the word "testosterone," and you probably picture a grumpy guy lifting heavy weights at the gym. For a long time, testosterone has been treated like the ultimate "boys' club" hormone. But here is a little secret I share with my patients every day: it is incredibly important for us ladies, too. At Renewal Aesthetics and Sexual Wellness right here in Draper, I’m on a mission to change how we talk about our hormones. We often whisper about these topics as if they are taboo, but ignoring hormone health leaves us feeling totally exhausted and out of sync. Between juggling kids, careers, and endless laundry, our hormone levels naturally shift as we age. For men, testosterone is the premium fuel in their tank. It keeps energy high, maintains muscle, and boosts sexual health and confidence. But guess what? We need that fuel just as much! A healthy testosterone balance helps women maintain
