It is a joy to work with the Modern Homestead team from start to finish. Their professionalism and dedication to quality, both in service and construction, made my project as easy and enjoyable as possible. This is saying a lot given the scope of work and the fact that I made changes in every room of the house, including structural improvements that required onsite engineering. They also finished on schedule and within the originally expected budget outside of change orders I requested along the way. Could not recommend them more! Homeowner - Vicky H.

Community is a Creative Process CREATIVITY AND DESIGN COME IN SO MANY DIFFERENT FORMS. It isn't ALL about the final product, but the process through which we come together as a team, a company, or a community. I find the most thrill and fulfillment in my work through the people I meet along the way. Our community has shifted, grown, transformed, gained, and lost over the years. It is important not to label what we have and who we are because every day we meet someone different or learn something new and that label dissolves. This community is rich in diversity, talent, progress, understanding, and knowledge, and if we let go of our preconceptions of what those things may bring, we see so much more. Neighbors that we didn't know begin to appear, businesses we've never visited open their doors, and our world expands. There is so much more to experience in this incredible community if we open up our eyes, our hearts, our minds and our creativity. It has been a gift to be part of such a wonderful team at Cherry Creek Lifestyle. I have been completely supported in looking deeper into our community and to be able to open up more opportunities for the neighbors we are just getting to know and the businesses we haven't visited yet. Diversity in design is here—you can see it in the photographs, you can read it in the copy, and you can feel it in your hands while thumbing through each page.

LOCAL’S CHOICE (CONTINUED)

“THE FIRST TIME I KIND OF SAT ON THE COUNTER AND HELPED MY MOM BAKE,” IS HOW NIKKI BARRON RECALLS THE BEGINNING OF HER BAKING CAREER. From the time she was young, Barron would help her mom whip up some yummy treats in favor of the holidays. “We would always do fun little sugar cookies. Decorating was always my favorite part. I’ve most definitely improved over the years,” jokes Barron. Also inspired by the Black women of America, Barron has always felt at home in the kitchen. “Kitchens were the first integrated spaces in the United States and in the South. White and Black people had to work together to get things done,” Barron says. “Most of the food we eat is a blend of different cultures coming together, and that formed what is American cooking today. Just to be another part of that lineage is amazing, and it makes me feel like I’m just another tiny link in that incredible chain.” Now, all grown up and a self-taught baker, Barron has made what was once a hobby into a profession. Being studious in art and design (as well as a perfectionist) has allowed Barron to set herself apart with her attention to detail and her drive to value quality work. To Barron, baking is a way to show her fervor and commitment to giving her customers that same excitement she experienced as a kid. At Delight Baking Co., the popular saying, “baking with love” is quite evident.

MARKETING REDEFINED “Normally, we like to host events, network with agents, and preview neighborhoods as a part of our strategy. With all that off the table, we’ve had to adapt to bring new ideas and value to our clients.” - Stuart Crowell In our efforts to sell this immaculate home in Observatory Park we collaborated with Michael Mitchell, a sneaker reviewer on YouTube with over 600,000+ subscribers, to highlight one of the most stunning closets EVER! We carried in over 100 pairs of Nike Air Jordan Sneakers to fill the over-sized master closet and film an exclusive unboxing video of every Air Jordan shoe 1-14 on the heels of the Michael Jordan “Last Dance” documentary release. Prior to the video launch we sat on the market for four months through quarantine and the start of the Pandemic. Just 5 days after Michael posted the video we were Under Contract! Mitchell posted the video and rapidly garnered over 30,000 views including one from the eventual buyer who called his agent and made an offer! Now that’s Distinct Marketing! When was the last time you heard of an agent thinking that creatively to sell a home?

ESTHER LEE LEACH, EDITOR AND PUBLISHER OF CHERRY CREEK FASHION, SHOWS US HER FAVORITE SPOTS IN CHERRY CREEK.

IF YOU EVER FIND YOURSELF OUT WITH ESTHER LEE LEACH IN CHERRY CREEK, EXPECT TO BE STOPPED BY PEOPLE WANTING TO SAY "HI"! Esther's dynamic personality has made her a favorite resident. After moving here in 2014 with her husband, Esther got to work starting her online magazine, Cherry Creek Fashion. Esther saw an opportunity to draw on her experience to create a publication that was exciting, diverse, and fashionable. Recognizing opportunities is second nature to Esther, so this year she launched a podcast with her friends called "Wait, Is This Thing On?" as well as her latest venture, Cherry Creek Studios, a photography and video production company. Esther also serves on the board of Cherry Arts and is an active member of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce. No two days are alike in her world, but she has graciously offered to show us the local spots that anchor her days and bookend her evenings.

Manz recommends indulging in a hair mask or scalp detox to help bring new life to your locks. Pro tip: Make sure to ask for their exclusive low-alcohol “Sweep Soda” to sip on while your color processes. Manz insists that even beyond the impeccable stylists she employs, clients can expect that unique connection that happens when spending a morning or afternoon in the chair. “It’s our gift to serve everybody that comes in the door. We make sure anyone we hire has that spirit of hospitality to not only serve our clients but each other, to create a togetherness in the salon,” says Manz. Sweep’s sister bar in Boulder offers the same services and superb hospitality—for a salon experience that feels as good as your new do.
