On campus professionals include doctors, therapists, home care nurses and CNAs. Our community nurse is happy to take blood pressure or help with health issues. If you have a personal emergency anywhere on campus, residents are provided with the Lifeline System pendants. This allows emergency technicians to come to your aid anywhere on the campus including your unit. At Jacaranda Trace there are many floor plans to choose from going up to 2,400 sq. ft. Whittier Manor has condominiums with balconies and leasing options. Free standing villas offer the amenities of independent living with the security of property maintenance and 24-hour emergency service. Jacaranda Trace also offers assisted living and memory care. Cadbury Park has two 12,500 sq. ft. buildings on site, each with 18 bedrooms joined by patio gardens. Each building has a large kitchen and a family room. Residents engage with each other and staff. Caregivers have a 3 to 1 radio, a high staff-to-resident arrangement. Health care is available 24 hours a day and a registered nurse is on duty weekdays and on call 24/7.

RTR UROLOGY AND VENICE REGIONAL BAYFRONT HEALTH ARE PLEASED TO OFFER CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY FOR DIAGNOSING NON-MUSCLE INVASIVE BLADDER TUMORS. Called ‘blue light cystoscopy,’ the system allows the urologist to inspect the bladder lining very closely for any abnormal growths or suspicious areas. Once lesions are identified, doctors can remove abnormal tissue.
“Bladder cancer is difficult to detect and has a high rate of recurrence. An inaccurate diagnosis can result in incomplete treatment, which may lead to serious complications and a lower chance of survival for patients with potentially aggressive tumors,” says RTR Urologist, Dr. Carl Klutke, an independent member of the Venice Regional Medical Staff. “Blue light cystoscopy represents an important advancement in diagnostic technology, enabling more accurate diagnosis of non-muscle invasive bladder tumors compared to the standard technology.” To diagnose this disease, RTR’s urologic surgeons inspect the inside of the bladder using a cystoscope that includes a video camera on the end. In the past, the only option was ‘white light cystoscopy,’ which does not always easily show tumors or cancerous lesions. A small amount of the imaging agent, Cysview, is placed into the bladder using a catheter prior to the procedure. Together, the imaging agent along with ‘blue light cystoscopy’ are used to detect significantly more bladder cancer. Cysview causes abnormal cells to glow flu-
