Remove from heat and let the thyme infuse into the syrup for at least 10 minutes. For the cocktail, muddle figs and

SEASONS OF LIFE BRING CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION. So is the case for the Beavers-Damron family as they transition from their Emerald Crossing home in Jones Creek Plantation. Stories of great times with family and friends flow from Sam Beavers and her daughter, Gelsey, as they share favorite features of their home. Amid the stories, Gelsey declares, “There’s just tons of space for fun!”

That’s a family tradition the neighbors have always commented on. Inside, the high ceilings let you have a tall tree, the mantel is set up nicely for decorating, and we have extra outlets everywhere for Christmas lights.” “We have a big family, and there is plenty of room to host holidays like Thanksgiving,” Gelsey says. “The kitchen is open," Sam adds. "It gives you a little privacy so that if you’re having a dinner party, people aren’t hanging right in the kitchen, but it still gives you the ability to see what’s going on in the other room.” Opportunity for fun continues outdoors. “The back yard is nice and level, so we could put up volleyball nets and croquet courses...It’s a great space for lots of tables. We’ve had lots of outdoor parties,” Sam says. “There is not a ton of light pollution, so we love having a telescope to see all the stars. We have had several times when people would come over to see astronomical events with us.” According

LOCAL CREATIVE JERI ANN BECKWORTH IS KNOWN FOR MANY THINGS: HER GENEROUS HEART, HER SUCCESS IN RAISING MORE THAN $60,000 IN 2019'S WOMAN OF THE YEAR CAMPAIGN, AND HER WORK AS A PHOTOGRAPHER. Her most recent project, Smoke on the Water, has a siren-like quality, inspired by the edgy Deep Purple classic. What began as a thought became a collaboration of many, including Brandy Gibson of Tiffinie Bleu Bridal Boutique (who donated a wedding gown) and her husband, Corey Beckworth. When asked about her creative journey, Jeri Ann shares, "Much of what I create begins with the music I hear. I relate to it, see by it. It inspires the projects I continue working on behind the scenes." Jeri Ann had a distinct vision and worked with a close circle to create what she saw. "It's thrilling to join so many different elements—fashion, makeup, lighting and even the dynamic of nature—to create what began as a simple lyric." Her use of a dramatic smokey eye (by the talented Mickey Busch) and the wispy elegance of a wedding gown gives a soft yet daring voice to her interpretation of the well-known lyric, and we couldn't be more mesmerized.
