our tight-knit community and our mission to improve upon our collective masterpiece point to a style branded by the strength of classic lines, the thrill of bold color and the respect of intricate lace. For this edition, we celebrate the escalating and evolving modes of beauty, fashion and the pretty place we seek to put it all. We’ll rethink hair and nails. Over a decade ago, Stacey James found it a challenge to hire stylists with the technical and creative skills necessary for the modern beauty industry, so she threw caution to the wind and founded the Stacey James Institute. Today’s graduates train harder and make more money off the bat than most people realize. The business of beauty continues to burgeon. We’ll take a cue from a lady boss. These superwomen of style are the local businesswomen who bring home the bacon and look good doing it. There’s never been a better time to be a fearless female, and these ladies prove it step after step, day after day.

The Dream Starts Here! We are the ultimate instructional school for all things BEAUTY, from COSMETOLOGY to ESTHETICS and MORE!

What makes the

BEAUTIFUL

Difference?

• Our students are our #1 customers! • We are growing people not businesses. Our passion for our students' success drives us to be the best. • A luxury salon atmosphere instead of an institutional environment creates an elevated, real life learning experience. • We produce career ready students, not apprentice ready students. • A low Student to Teacher ratio allows for immersive learning and individualized development. • We teach multiple product lines so our students graduate with confidence and the skill set to start their careers. Stacey James Institute also gives back to the community by participating in many non-profit events and as a valued student, you can take part in this culture. Our learning environment mimics the real-world salon experience so our students are fully prepared upon graduation to start their career. Our educators go through constant continuing education so they are able to pass their extensive experience on to our students.

opened Farmgirl Foods in January 2018 and has been floating on a frenzied wonder of a cloud ever since. A 15-year dream realized in full splendor, this specialty food shop was a leap of faith that sprouted wings and continues to glide toward the country heavens. Offering a literal bounty of locally sourced sauces, seasonings, meats, eggs, breads, nut butters and more, she only sells the goods she feeds her family, so she really knows her stuff. This sassy mama of three sons loves to show people how easy it can be to cook delicious, healthy food with just a few key ingredients. Simply put, looking your best after being styled by A Line Boutique is an exceptionally exhilarating experience. Evident by their radiant auras of confidence in these photos, the boutique owner, the realtor, the Pilates club owner, the gem proprietor and the specialty food purveyor all stand in agreement.

better chance of becoming reality. So sit down, give it some thought and sketch out that fashion sanctuary you’ve always pined for. REMOVE THE DOORS FOR A BETTER VIEW. While some of your intimate rooms need a door, leaving some of the doorways doorless lends to a faster morning getaway. You can scan your entire wardrobe in the blink of an eye, instantly viewing your gorgeous pieces without having them tucked behind closed doors.

NEVER OVERFILL IT WITH TOO MUCH OF ANYTHING. Less is more in the closet. Do you really need 50 pairs of pants or a hundred pairs of shoes? Having fewer, but more cherished items can give way to greater organization and mental clarity for the day ahead. When a shelf starts to bulge, you know it’s time to say goodbye to some of that stuff. HONOR YOUR POSSESSIONS BY KEEPING A CLEAN, TIDY SPACE. If you don’t already, take care of your belongings as if they were brand-new, and try to maintain this area of yours. This may be easier said than done, but you’ll likely feel much happier and more productive when things are organized. HAVING A VANITY IS NOT AN EXTRAVAGANCE, BUT A MUST. Many of us grew up seeing our mothers, aunts and grandmothers sitting at their vanities ... there is just something so feminine and grown-up about a vanity. PLACE CHAIRS FOR OTHERS. Having chairs in your personal space is a must, whether you use it as a dressing room, creative workspace or for both reasons. Seating allows your friends and family a chance to relax and chat with you when the opportunity presents itself. Or you can seize the day and invite your girlfriends over for a few hours of laughter after a difficult week. We’re all unique, so make sure your space speaks to who you are. Make it a place where you want to spend time. You return to a favorite restaurant or shopping spot because of the way it makes you feel, so design a special space that makes you want to return. You’re worth it! 32
