Kristy stays extremely busy and is passionate about her store, her clients and her family. On occasion, one might see Kristy’s children, Charlie and Annie, in the store learning not only about furniture but the value of hard work. “They're part of helping sometimes too,” says Kristy. “That's how you become a hard worker, and that's also just part of life. It’s what I had to do with my family and it’s how I raise my children”.

Kristy was raised in a “furniture” family. Their father operated a furniture import store in Brentwood, Tennessee for 20 years where he acquired furniture from abroad. Many of his pieces were made of mango wood which is how the name "Mango's Decor & Co" originated.

Kristy and her team offer a variety of home services, including one-on-one design and decorating ideas that could range from a small kitchen to an entire home as she understands the challenges of decorating. Her goal is to give constructive advice and revamp any space in a client’s home. For those selling a home or property, consultations and “staging” services are available as well.

When asked, Kristy stated that her favorite part of her job was, “… not the furniture or decor, but rather the people who come in my store. I honestly enjoy dealing with customers. I enjoy helping them make their personal space feel good. When a customer tells me, ‘I actually use that room now,’ it makes it all worthwhile.”

KRISTEN CAISSIE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER OF MOON CANYON DESIGN CO., created this beautiful flower arrangement as part of Jenni Kayne’s floral encyclopedia. This lush arrangement is comprised of early spring blooms arranged in a ceramic vase. The wabi-sabi aesthetic of the handmade vessel adds to the arrangement’s playful proportions. Earthy yellows, rich greens, and a touch of blue tell a color story that’s unexpected, yet warm and welcoming. Perfectly undone early spring blooms (Kristen’s favorite to design with) emphasize the meeting place of winter and spring.

TWEEDIA LADY SLIPPER Characterized by the slippershaped pouch (or labellum) that sits between the petals, these orchids range in color from white and yellow to a deep pink and purple. The lady slipper might take four to sixteen years to produce a bloom, but it’s worth the wait— in comparison to other, more temperamental orchids, this type can be considered fairly low-maintenance.

RANUNCULUS Also known as the buttercup, these spring bloomers are coveted for their delicate layers of petals, resembling ruffled tissue or crepe.

In a wide range of vivid shades, ranunculus can bloom from late winter to early summer.

NARCISSUS Daffodils are instantly recognizable by their six petals surrounding a trumpet-like corona, most often in variances of white, yellow, or both. The ubiquity of the daffodil dates back to ancient times, both medicinally and botanically. They have been said to get their name because the image of languid daffodils along a stream evoke the image of Narcissus gazing into his reflection.

This delicate perennial is coveted for its light fragrance and pale blue star-shaped petals. Found commonly in vines and trellises, tweedias are prime for an arrangement as they cut well and last long.
