Since 1967, Camp Champions has served thousands of students as campers at their summer camp. Realizing the importance of outdoor and away from home experiences, Camp Champions opened their Outdoor School in 1996. “Over the years, we have dedicated our time and our resources to spreading the camp experience to as many students as possible. We have worked with SCOPE, helping to send campers to local Texas camps. We have partnered with agencies and schools in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio to source deserving scholarship campers. But we know we can do more.” Over the past 5 years, Champions has given out over $200,000 in scholarships a year for camperships. These assist families who have hit hard times and working with families who never would have dreamed of having a summer camp experience. “In 2012 we decided we had greater work to do, we needed to be more intentional about our contributions to scholarships at our own camp, and to our impact on a local and state level. Our 501(c)(3) became a reality in 2016, and we are looking forward to organizing our resources and ideas to focus on serving youth in Texas.”

RENOVATE & REFINE FUN DECKS AND PORCHES DECORATED FOR THE 4TH
SHOWING PAT R I O T I C SPIRIT FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY FOR THE REST OF US TO ENJOY. Allison Kotal explained that she, “Loves the 4th of July and what it stands for.” She is excited this year to be able to decorate her wrap-around porch with bunting. Her and her husband’s adorable children add a lovely touch to the front of the house in this photo. Sandy Green admits she loves to decorate for the holidays, Christmas being her favorite where she goes all out. However, this year she outdid herself with the red, white and blue – from a homemade cake adorned with sparklers her grandchildren will enjoy to flags, bunting and decorative items. Michelle Hackebeil has decorated the historic 1913 home in Comfort, beautifully restored by her husband last year. For their first July 4th in this home, they have decorated the front of the house with red, white and blue bunting and colorful pillows in the rockers. The red in the items is complemented by the blue front door.
