FASHION, ELEGANCE AND SOPHISTICATION AT MISS MOLLY’S TEA ROOM, GIFT SHOP, FASHION BOUTIQUE AND MEDINA FUNTASTIC TOYZ
ED WRIGHT AND HIS WIFE, DINAH, THE OWNERS OF MISS MOLLY’S TEA ROOM, GIFT SHOP, FASHION BOUTIQUE AND MEDINA FUNTASTIC TOYZ, OPERATE THE BUSINESSES WITH A PROFESSIONAL TEAM OF MANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES. They are now in their 21st year of ownership of Miss Molly’s. The fashion boutique opened in November 2014, while the toy store opened in May 2013. In addition to normal business hours seven days a week, Miss Molly’s hosts a variety of events, including bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, fundraisers and more. Ed became heavily involved in the expansion of Medina’s historic district over the last several decades, working with community leaders to start Main St. Medina as well as serving two terms as their first chairman and still serving on the board. He has worked tediously to make the city and its businesses as inviting as possible for residents and visitors alike. “We have had people come in, telling us they have traveled all over the U.S., [visiting] tea rooms and said Miss Molly’s is one of the best in the country.” Nanci Sullivan, a longtime customer of Miss Molly’s, has been coming to the facility since 1996, when it existed in its previous location. Now, she visits every Sunday with her husband, Dean. She adores the flavored coffees, while her husband is a fan of the apricot tea. She also enjoys browsing the gift shop and even has game nights with friends from activities purchased at the toy store. She encourages others to “treat themselves” for the “full experience.” “It is a very special place run by very special people, who have invested themselves in their town …” Seating up to 160 people, Miss Molly’s caters to a wide range of appetites. From sweet to savory and everything in between, one will not leave feeling hungry. Popular menu items include the famous Chicken Salad Puff and the Strawberry Pretzel Salad. Everything is prepared fresh by their kitchen staff and chef Jason. The Fashion Boutique offers a fabulous selection of designer ladies clothing and accessories. The Gift Shop has many items one can choose from for every occasion, including specialty blended teas, clothing, ladies toiletries, jewelry and more. Complete with stimulating books, games, puzzles and immersive toys, in Medina Funtastic Toyz, an emphasis on education is at the forefront of the business. Prices range on average from anywhere from $1 to $75, depending on what one is interested in. Currently, discussion around elevating their catering business is in the works. Reservations are recommended for the tea room but not required. Walk-ins are welcome, although seating may not always be available.

of the era’s newest designs. Leopold’s continued to thrive, even after Henry passed away in 1898, leaving the business to his sons. The Great Depression hit in the 1930s. Leopold’s had to make multiple location changes as well as take necessary measures to keep the business going through tough times. Leopold’s president, Mark Lutz, great-great grandson of Henry Leopold, is the fifth generation at the business helm; Chad Leopold, vice president, sixth generation in the family, is Mark’s partner. Together they work to make Leopold’s “beyond the ordinary since 1859.” At Leopold’s, nine talented interior designers work to ensure that every aspect of a client’s home is attractive, warm and inviting. Selecting from fine quality products, including furniture, carpets, rugs, lamps, artwork, fabrics and more, Leopold’s designers bring the client’s vision to life. Mary Ann Bednar, a Brecksville resident, was referred to one of Leopold’s designers for help on remodeling her family’s home in 2013 and has been a recurring customer for the last two decades. Mary Ann remodeled her basement, bedroom, family room, kitchen and living room in addition to her family’s outdoor living area. The entire renovation period lasted about six years. She noted how her experience with Leopold’s was “priceless.”

It is very easy to search online for a certain manufacturer, but to have somebody that works with you with the level of care that they provide and their follow-through is what makes the difference.” The Leopold family has remained a Cleveland household name for decades and prides themselves on utilizing knowledgeable, professional and talented design staff to provide their clients with the best possible shopping experience.

Jill and Jeff Risner, The Echelon owners and operators
MEMBERS OF THE BRAND-NEW INDEPENDENT AND ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY THE ECHELON OF MEDINA HAVE ALL THE AMENITIES (AND MORE!) that one could hope for when searching for the perfect place to call home. The 55-plus community officially opened its doors last December on the assisted living side and welcomed its first members on the independent living side in July. Its location at 635 N. Huntington St. puts members less than one mile from both the quaint, historic downtown section of Medina and the more commercial area of town on North Court Street. The state-of-the-art campus is gorgeous and welcoming with convenient amenities seemingly at every turn. Members can find spa and hair services, a therapy pool, an art studio and culinary center, a 21-seat movie theater, a deli and coffee shop, a pub and so much more inside the modern and beautifully decorated facilities at The Echelon. The Echelon campus is made up of two separate buildings. The 98-unit assisted living facility and the 90-unit independent living facility both have one- and two-bedroom options. “When you walk into these buildings, it’s like walking into a beautiful resort. The architecture is beautiful, and we offer so many services for our members. We even have a concierge on staff,” Operations Director Adam Neal says. Adam took the time to show me the model apartments as well and, as expected, they were beautiful, spacious, practical and modern. With services, care and accommodations like these, it’s easy to see why members would consider their new residence in Medina to be among the “upper echelon.”
