TEXAS BUSINESS OWNER MARINA FOX HAS OPERATED MCKINNEY FURNITURE AND DESIGN, PREVIOUSLY CALLED THE FURNITURE BUYERS CLUB, FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS. Originally from France, Marina lived in California for twenty years before moving to Texas.

After first moving here, Marina was struck by the size of the houses compared to the home they owned in California. Furnishing a Texassized house was overwhelming.

It was while shopping to furnish her new home Marina quickly became dissatisfied with the home furnishing stores she had to choose from. She found that most stores offered similar products with little variety. She was anxious to have something new and original. To solve her dilemma, Marina took matters into her own hands and, with a business partner, opened her own home furnishings store.

Determined to make her store different, Marina offers her customers an original, customized look at a reduced cost. Located off the beaten path, Marina takes advantage of the low rent to pass along those savings to her Marina with her team

customers. Her store has a beautiful front showroom with a large warehouse showroom in the back. All of her furniture is decoratively displayed in tasteful vinettes so the customer can imagine the pieces in their own home.

Customers enjoy a relaxed shopping experience, free of the pressure from commissioned sales associates.

Customers are encouraged to leisurely browse the number of high-end styles available. When assisting customers, store sales professionals seek to understand the customer’s style, preferences, and season of life before making recommendations. Marina sees each customer that walks through her doors as a friend and neighbor.

McKinney Furniture and Design offers customers a selection of high-end styles like Dovetail, Essentials for Living, and Universal Furniture. Many of the lines they carry are also used in model homes by local designers.

Customers have the option of customized furniture built to fit their space, or they can purchase floor models at a reduced rate. Staying current with the latest trends means a regular turnover of floor models, so there is always a sale going on.

Customized furniture includes a variety of fabric choices with samples available for you to browse in the store. All customized sofas and sectionals are made right here in the USA. Once a year, Marina visits the furniture market in Las Vegas to keep up on the latest trends. This year her visit brought back the addition of a new accessory line by Decor Uttermost, which she is particularly excited to share with her customers.

When asked what’s trending now, Marina shared that gold is very popular, and there is also a lot of mixing of elements and styles. Vintage style is now mixed with transitional and even modern pieces to create a unique look and customized feel. Metals and metallic fabrics are also hot right now. As far as colors, grey is still a popular neutral, and bold blues are always a favorite.

McKinney Furniture and Design is a faith-based business, and while Marina is excited about great design, she is passionate about the McKinney-based prison ministry that she founded.

Her ministry helps formerly incarcerated women rebuild their lives. Every Friday, you will find Marina ministering to women in the prison where she leads a bible study. For formerly incarcerated qualified women, she offers employment in administrative roles in the store. Through her efforts, these women are given a second chance to start their lives over.

When not working in the store or running the prison ministry, Marina spends most of her time at home, enjoying her husband and daughter, and spending time with her horses. Once a year, she’s able to get back to France to visit family.

Marina says she’s “incredibly grateful for the opportunity to live and work here (USA). There is a freedom in this country that is very precious.”

DR. BRYCE GATES KNEW HE WANTED TO BE IN THE DENTISTRY PROFESSION AT A YOUNG AGE. Originally from the Carrollton area, Dr. Gates moved in with his aunt and uncle in Oklahoma to finish his high school career. This pivotal move allowed Dr. Gates the opportunity to experience the dentistry profession first hand while working in his uncle’s dental practice. It was from this early dental experience that he knew he wanted to pursue dentistry, specifically dental surgery as a career.

After graduating top of his class from the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Texas School of Dentistry, Dr. Gates opened his advanced dental office in McKinney, Texas, in 2015. When talking about his practice, Dr. Gates has this to say, “I am proud to provide my patients with the best in dental technology, treatment options, and patient comfort.”

Dr. Nigel Kasali was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After middle school, he and his family moved to Atlanta, GA, where he attended high school and continued to Valdosta State University to receive his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. OVER THE PAST 15 YEARS, CASEY VENTERS HAS GAINED A REPUTATION AS A RESPECTED AUTHORITY IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY. Casey has an impressive fitness resume, which showcases his expertise. He earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Science, has numerous certifications, was an adjunct professor, a former gym owner, a performance coach, a personal trainer as well as a public speaker for companies such as Marriot and Under Armour.

But none of that mattered as much as Casey’s deeply held belief that the fitness industry as a whole had failed its members.

Each day numerous people suffer from soft-tissue injuries that are not the result of an accident or other assignable cause. These injuries begin as a little irritating pain and get progressively worse. Over time this pain results in an injury. Ninety-nine percent of these injuries are entirely preventable, and Casey was passionate to show people how to live pain and injury-free.

Casey saw a significant gap between clinical treatment for pain or surgical recovery and current gym offerings. As an answer to the problem, he seized the opportunity to create a fitness facility that bridged that gap. “I started the Blueprint Experience because I wanted to implement my proven system for helping people get out of pain and for pain and injury prevention. Even if you don’t currently have pain, if you continue to exercise and workout incorrectly, you are going to get hurt. We prevent that here,” says Managing Partner Casey Venters. What makes The Blueprint Experience unique is how a fitness plan is crafted for each person individually tailored to their needs and goals the way a blueprint is crafted for building a house. The member’s journey begins with a movement screening and 3D-body scan conducted by a Fit Architect professional using state of the art technology. During this screening process, data is collected including, mobility, stability, weight, and postural measurements to lay the foundation on which a unique fitness blueprint plan is developed.

Members then begin a progressive training program that addresses all of their fitness goals according to their blueprint. Members have three options to meet their needs: 1) work directly with a Fit Architect, 2) attend small classes with individualized coaching led by a Fit Architect, 3) take their blueprint, and do it on their own.

The Blueprint Experience employs a relationship-based model that fosters a community feel. Members are known and greeted by name each time they enter the gym. Friendly fun competitions encourage members to attend the gym regularly and give 110% every time they’re there. State of the art equipment and technology is used to enhance the member’s experience and accelerate their results.

Located inside the beautiful European-style Adriatica Village in McKinney, The Blueprint Experience has lots of windows that allow in the natural light with views of the chapel and outside walking path. So even when you’re inside, you still feel like you’re almost outside.

But that’s not all. The current facility is only the first phase. A phase two facility is coming soon, which will include a swimming pool, and on-site clinicians offering physical therapy and chiropractic services. Phase two will be the complete realization of Casey’s vision to bridge the gap with on-site clinical professionals for members whose needs transcend the current gym.

The Blueprint Experience isn’t just about fitness though; they also love giving back to the community. Blueprint is a charity partner with The Warrior’s Keep, whose sole mission is to raise money to treat PTSD veterans with outdoor therapy. Blueprint also sponsors several local schools teacher appreciation weeks and they were a Gold-level sponsor for the Christmas in Adriatica Event. They were also a sponsor of the McKinney May Smiles Charity event.

Right now, The Blueprint Experience is offering a free 10-Day Experience for people to give it a try. Casey currently resides in McKinney with his wife and two children.
