Cognitive Efficacy is focused on keeping our minds alert and interested with brain-enhancing activities, which is essential in fighting the onset of dementia. Furthermore, Cognitive Efficacy is also focused on preserving our overall sense of wellness because it reflects our belief in our own mental strength—it is our ability to think about things quickly and accurately, and our confidence to follow through with those thoughts. When we feel mentally sharp, engaged, and competent, our entire sense of well-being is improved and strengthened.

In a small saucepan, simmer

+ 1/2 cup sugar

sugar, water and thyme leaves

+ 1/2 cup water

over low heat for 5 minutes or until

For the cocktail, muddle figs and lemon juice in the bottom of a glass. Add ice, 3/4 of the thyme syrup and Sprite. Stir and garnish with fig and a sprig of thyme.

The first thing a designer does is walk into the space with the customer to find out what is and isn’t working and what to focus on.

“Our designers are well-trained to know what’s going to be the most functional design for the space, but they also base the design on what the customer’s interest and wants might be,” Sandra says.

They basically bring a showroom on wheels to the home, which consists of a mini closet, color samples and other types of samples and pictures. They start out with a great template, and customers can then add options from the a la carte menu. This way, they can pick and choose what is most important to them while staying within their budget.

In one sitting, which takes about 1 1/2 to two hours, they can design, measure and price the entire space. Once the plan is finalized and ready to go, an appointment can then be made for the installation date.

“What we want our customers to understand is that it’s not just a job for us,” Sandra says. “It really is something that we love doing, and we enjoy being in this business.”

puckett’s mixed berry cobbler yield: + 1 full 12-by-20 pan (Approximately 15 servings) filling: + 5 pounds mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries and raspberries) + 4 ounces orange juice + 2 cups brown sugar topping: + 4 cups self-rising flour + 4 cups white sugar + 4 cups cups buttermilk + 1/2 pound melted butter + 2 tablespoons vanilla extract directions 1. Mix filling to incorporate sugar and spread in a hotel pan.

2. Whisk flour and sugar together.
