Are you a trendsetter? Maybe you feel confident in being the most overdressed in the room. You know how to make an entrance. (Eyes up, shoulders back, and smile.) That's our goal for this month at least. It's September, and now is our chance to shine with our Style Issue.
We're inspired by fashion, food and faith blogger Nathalie Mukendi. She joined photographer Lindsay Barlow of LB Photography at the Highlands Ranch Mansion to model some chic, put-together looks for the fall. And they have us swooning.
No matter what fall fashions you find this fall, we're still soaking up all the Colorado outdoor style we can while the weather holds. There's still time for lots of road races, hiking, paddleboarding, picnics galore. We're so blessed to live in this state with a gentle transition to winter. We hope to see you out there!

Put your Best Tooth Forward for Back-to-School
“A smile is the universal welcome.”
—Max Eastman
A bright and cheery smile conveys warmth, acceptance, and joy, regardless of language, culture, or background.
One of the most empowering gifts a parent can give their child is the confidence to smile proudly. Station Dental understands that dental health extends beyond the teeth in one's mouth; it mirrors internal and external health. Issues like tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath (halitosis) can disrupt the body’s symbiotic processes and peer relationships.
Proper dental hygiene is as essential as proper diet, regular exercise, good rest, and mental health. Just like regular pediatric physicals, regular checkups with a dentist are crucial to a child's total well-being.
There is no better time to get your child started or reintroduced to good dental hygiene than Back-to-School.
EARLY DETECTION AND PREVENTION:
A dental check-up before the school year starts allows your child’s dentist to catch
and address any potential issues early. This can prevent minor problems from becoming major ones, ensuring your child's oral health is in top shape.
ESTABLISHING ROUTINE: Scheduling dental visits around the same time each year helps establish a consistent routine, crucial for maintaining oral health. Summer checkups ensure your student won’t miss school for a dental appointment
PROTECTION FOR ACTIVE KIDS: If your child participates in sports, the dentist can provide custom-fitted mouthguards to protect their teeth from injuries. This is particularly relevant at the start of the school sports season.
Station Dental strives to provide a childfriendly environment with compassionate team members to help alleviate or potentially prevent a child’s fear of the dentist. Bring your child in today to set them up for a healthier, more successful school year, both academically and socially.
Station Dental has offices throughout the Denver Metro area, including its Highlands Ranch location, 9358 Dorchester St Suite 103.

HER INSTA-WORTHY PICKS FOR SUMMER TO AUTUMN TRANSITIONAL WARDROBE
ARTICLE BY SONJA NIX | PHOTOGRAPHY BY LINDSAY BARLOW, LB PHOTOGRAPHY
We asked Nathalie Mukendi of @CorporatelyChic to style three looks for summer-to-fall transitional dressing. She starts with quintessential Colorado casual: a basic white tee and jeans. Despite her sophisticated style, her approach to fashion is refreshingly personal: She doesn’t follow trends. Instead, she invests in pieces that can be worn year after year. Nathalie looks to street fashion for inspiration, adding her feminine, chic, and modest touch.
Pair dark-wash jeans with a puffedsleeve, crisp white tee. Swap strappy sandals for knee-high amber suede boots, a straw Panama hat for a wide-brimmed hat, and add a boxy, collarless camel blazer.
Wide-legged pink trousers topped with a brightly patterned blouse. For autumn, layer a complementary but darker-colored knee-length sweater for warmth, and swap a structured floral bag with a slouchy neutral hobo.
Nathalie’s first forays into fashion were entirely with black and neutrals. Inspired by her Congolese heritage, she threw in some orange and hasn’t looked back. The trick, Nathalie says, is to know what colors look good on you and carry yourself with confidence. Her confidence stems from her deep Christian faith, which serves as her fashion inspiration. Much of her social media presence is dedicated to spreading joy and God’s love.
Sometimes, simply swapping accessories is adequate to transition from warmer to cooler weather. Look closely at these looks. You’ll find the same camel suede hat, earrings, and belt. Nathalie works as a corporate accountant, so smart professional outfits are a must. She shops various brands, from Burberry and Gucci to Zara and Aldo. She also shops TJ Maxx, Express, even thrift and resale shops. If it fits and is well-made, the label doesn’t matter.

For summer, wear a lightweight, neutralpatterned dress paired with delicate strappy heels. Add a hat and swap a neutral ankle boot for warmth in autumn. To carry the look into winter, simply add a sweater or blazer.

I love anything vintage: the history, stories, and connections to the past.
Vintage luxury handbags are the embodiment of sustainable shopping; they were made using expert craftsmanship and top-quality materials (you can’t assume the same today). As an investment in your wardrobe, they last a lifetime. With a little TLC — rounds of cleaning, conditioning, and polishing — I bring these beautiful bags back to life. I also believe in giving back; 13 percent of the profits go to Walk With Me, a local charity close to my heart, serving families grieving infant loss.
Look at this original Louis Vuitton Monogram Ellipse, inspired by seashells, with a rounded top and flat base. This collection was made from 1997 to 2007 but recently re-released as a mini-version.
These bags were made between the mid60s and mid-80s. Rodolfo Gucci, the son of founder Guccio, commissioned Italian illustrator Vittorio Accornero to design a special scarf pattern for frequent shopper Grace Kelly. Accornero looked to Botticelli’s Allegory of Spring and its florals. Once it was clear Princess Grace’s scarf was a masterpiece, the print was used on handbags and clothes.
The limited edition Antigua line was the first all-canvas bag line. Influenced by nautical style, it features sturdy canvas, playful colors, and striped fabric. The Louis Vuitton engraved, gold-tone brass rivets and plate reveal elements of Louis Vuitton’s original steam trunks.
There are very few of these; perhaps they were an exclusive, limited piece. It is from the 1997 S/S Collection by Tom Ford for Gucci. The pièce de résistance is the gorgeous, polished, and uncolored bamboo handle. Gucci started incorporating bamboo accents in 1947 as an inventive solution to a post-war leather shortage.
This bag is so rare that information is hard to find. The available research identifies it as the Matsy, Mattsy, Mazzie, or Matzy. Made in France in July 2003, Louis Vuitton makes very few bags in orange Epi leather, making this an unusual piece.
