The family-friendly event featured hot air balloons, a boat show, boat rides, food vendors and a dedicated children's play area. SUMNER MIDDLE COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION The Sumner County Middle College High School graduation ceremony was held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Volunteer State Community College. Students took college classes at the Vol State Gallatin campus while they were still high school students. This year, 31 students earned their high school diplomas through the Middle College, including 11 students who also earned their associates degrees from Vol State. GOING ON SAFARI FOR JUNGLE TEA A REBORN RESTAURANT OFFERS UP A COOL SUMMERTIME DRINK IN HENDERSONVILLE FROM THE EARLY 1990S UNTIL THE MID-2000S, SAFARI'S WAS A VERY POPULAR RESTAURANT LOCATED NEAR RIVERGATE MALL. It was known for a unique theme that included jungle-styled furnishings, music and a giant aquarium. Although the original location closed in 2005, General Manager Ross El-Bobou opened a new Hendersonville Safari's in December 2017. OLD HICKORY L AKE Established in 1954, Old Hickory Lake has become one of the area's preeminent outdoor recreational destinations. With more than 22,500 surface acres of water, the lake offers aquatic enthusiasts a myriad of outside activities, including power boating, skiing, fishing, swimming, kayaking, archery and numerous picnicking sites. The lake is also home to several marinas that provide a wide array of services to boating enthusiasts. The Anchor High, Cedar Creek, Creekwood and Gallatin marinas are all full-service operations that cater to the service and support of area boaters.

Old Hickory Lake is also a major camping getaway, offering ample campsite rental opportunities at numerous locations, including Cedar Creek and Cages Bend. Open between April and October, the campsites attract thousands of tourists to the Sumner County area each year.

S W E E T WAT E R P O N T O O N R E N TA L Located at Creekwood Marina, Sweetwater Pontoon Rental offers opportunities for boaters to rent pontoon watercraft for entertaining on Old Hickory Lake. With a fleet of 14 2018-model pontoon boats, Sweetwater can accommodate most recreational boating needs. Along with casual boaters, Sweetwater is also equipped to handle event-themed rentals, such as bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthdays and corporate outings. Currently, Sweetwater offers two styles of pontoon boats for rental: 27-foot Crest vessels with a built-in water slide and 22-foot Sweetwater craft. Daily

HERO HUNT, INC. is a nonprofit charity in Middle Tennessee that works with military, police, firefighters and first responders who have been injured in the line of duty by providing them a way to get out hunting with other men and women who may be enduring similar situations. Joe Towers and his wife started the company in 2012 as their way of giving back. Joe is a veteran who currently works for the metro police department. "There are a lot of organizations that do things to help military veterans, but being a police officer there are a lot of injuries and dangers at home,” he says. When firemen, police officers, EMTs and first responders get injured in the line of duty, they go from working and having a daily routine to nothing at all. Many suffer from depression and PTSD following their injuries. Hero Hunt started with just deer hunting and now have moved into turkey hunts, dove hunts, fishing and pig hunts in Alabama and Texas.
