Finding Inspiration Through Style, Home, Fashion, and Our Community Together
September 2026 PUBLISHER
Robin Belley | robin.belley@citylifestyle.com CO-PUBLISHER
I've always believed that style is personal! It isn't about chasing trends or having the newest of everything. It's about creating spaces you love coming home to, finding pieces that make you feel confident, and surrounding yourself with things that bring you joy. That's exactly what inspired this month's Style Issue! The best part about style is that it looks different for everyone! For some, it's designing a home that feels warm, welcoming, and uniquely theirs. For others, it's discovering a wardrobe that boosts their confidence, taking better care of their skin, filling their home with beautiful fresh flowers, or finding those little décor pieces that make everyday spaces feel extra special. However you define style, it's all about creating a life that reflects who you are. This month, we're excited to introduce you to some of the amazing local businesses helping make Gilbert such a beautiful place to live! Inside, you'll find interior designers sharing ideas for creating timeless spaces, a beautiful new home décor store, skincare and laser treatment tips to help you look and feel your best, floral inspiration from one of our favorite local florists, and so much more. Every feature is packed with ideas, inspiration, and the talented people behind the businesses that help our community shine. One of the things I love most about Gilbert is the incredible creativity that exists here. So many local business owners have turned their passions into something they get to share with our community every day, and I think that's pretty special! When you choose to shop local, you're supporting your neighbors, their families, and the dreams they've worked so hard to build. Even though Arizona is still holding onto those warm temperatures, September always feels like a fresh start! It's the perfect time to refresh your home, try a new local business, update your style, or simply find inspiration for the season ahead. I hope this issue encourages you to explore something new, support a local business, and maybe even discover your next favorite place right here in Gilbert! Thank you for continuing to support Gilbert City Lifestyle and the incredible people who make this community so special. We truly love sharing their stories each month, and we're so grateful you're part of it! Here's to a stylish September filled with inspiration, creativity, and all the little things that make life beautiful! THE POWER OF PERSONAL COLOR Color has the power to transform more than an outfit. The right shade can brighten the complexion, highlight the eyes and make getting dressed feel effortless. That is the appeal behind color analysis, a personalized approach to discovering which shades complement an individual’s features, personality and lifestyle. “Color Analysis is also referred to as color draping and means a person tries on various colors to see how they harmonize or clash with their skin, hair and eyes,” explains, Tabitha Dumas, the certified image consultant, whose grandmother was a Color Me Beautiful consultant in the 1980s. Unlike online quizzes and AI-generated results, a professional analysis considers undertone, contrast, coloring and personal preferences. Clients are draped in different versions of colors, from pastel and bright to deep and muted, to see how subtle shifts change their appearance. One misconception she hopes to eliminate is that certain colors are completely off-limits. “Everyone can wear any color, it’s simply a matter of which shade to choose and how you wear it,” she says.
Discover how personalized color analysis can simplify your wardrobe, inspire smarter shopping, enhance your natural features and bring greater confidence to everyday style. ARTICLE BY KYLIE STRAWN-BADGER

Start by identifying the neutrals that flatter you most. Black may be the default, but navy, chocolate brown, camel or beige can sometimes create a more complementary foundation. Then, invest in a top in one of your strongest colors. Because tops sit close to the face, they can make an immediate difference. When refreshing your wardrobe, resist the urge to replace everything at once. Instead, spend time “living in your palette.” Pay attention to which pieces make you feel polished and confident, then create a shopping list around the gaps. This makes future purchases more intentional and can help create a closet where more pieces naturally work together. Already own a color that is not ideal? “Color should be fun, not stressful!” she says. Move less-flattering shades away from the face through pants, skirts, shoes or handbags, or balance them with jewelry and accessories in complementary tones. Tabitha’s favorite unexpected tip? Choose a handbag that closely matches your hair color. The repetition can instantly make an outfit feel more intentional. Color analysis can also guide makeup, eyewear, jewelry and hair color, helping eliminate costly trial and error. For a simple closet refresh, organize clothing by the rainbow and then from light to dark. Experiment with pairing colors together rather than automatically reaching for neutrals. Ultimately, the goal is not to follow a palette perfectly. It is to understand color well enough to make confident choices. “The best compliment is when people say they hear me in their head, encouraging them to live more colorfully,” she says. When you love what you see in the mirror, that confidence has a way of influencing far more than what you wear.

downtown Gilbert. Already familiar with Arizona from attending college here, she was drawn back to the desert landscape and Western charm. Eventually, Arizona became home. Leaving her longtime career at Universal Pictures created an opportunity to reconsider what she wanted professionally. Then, while designing a custom cowboy hat for her engagement photos, inspiration struck. “I immediately fell in love with the creative process,” she says. “I saw an opportunity to create an experience that was interactive, personal and lasting.” Today, Copper State Branding Bar brings that vision to weddings, corporate events, home parties, farmers markets and businesses throughout the Valley. Guests use custom branding irons to personalize cowboy hats, leather journals, luggage tags, wallets, keychains, coasters and other keepsakes with initials, dates, symbols and custom designs. There is something undeniably luxurious about owning something no one else has. In a world of fast fashion and mass production, personalization offers a return to individuality, craftsmanship and meaning. For Corrine Overend, founder of Copper State Branding Bar, those ideas are at the heart of a business built around helping people turn everyday pieces into personal keepsakes. Storytelling has long shaped Corrine’s career. Before making Arizona home, she spent nearly two decades in creative advertising at Universal Pictures, helping bring campaigns for films including Fast & Furious, Jurassic World and Oppenheimer to life. She later worked with a meaningful jewelry company centered around personalized charms and the stories behind them. “Watching someone create something that represented who they were and what mattered most left a lasting impression on me,” Corrine says. Her own next chapter began with an Arizona love story. While visiting from out of state, Corrine met her fiancé in
well-loved purse or another meaningful piece can become the canvas for something entirely personal. While cowboy hats remain her favorite, Copper State Branding Bar has also developed an unexpected specialty: miniature cowboy hats for dogs. What began as a playful creation for Corrine’s own dog quickly gained attention on social media, leading to custom hats for well-known Instagram dogs across the country. She has even created pieces for a pig living on a Queen Creek goat farm and a pair of American Girl dolls. “The options are endless,” she says. Yet behind the creativity is something deeper. Corrine remembers a gentleman who visited her booth while experiencing a difficult chapter in his life. He selected his first cowboy hat and chose a simple cross branded beneath the brim to symbolize his faith and hope. “It wasn’t just about owning a cowboy hat,” Corrine says. “It was about carrying something that reflected who he was and the strength he wanted to hold onto.” For first-time customers, Corrine recommends beginning with what matters personally rather than chasing trends. Favorite places, family traditions, hobbies, dates and meaningful symbols can all inspire a timeless design. “There’s no ‘right’ design,” she says. “The beauty of customization is that it’s completely personal.”
That philosophy feels especially fitting for a celebration of style. To Corrine, true style is less about following what everyone else is wearing and more about creating something unmistakably your own. “I think style is about telling your story without saying a word,” she says. “It’s the little details that make something unmistakably yours.” And perhaps that is the real beauty of a Copper State piece: long after an event ends, the story remains. Inspired By Flowers Rachelle Bare shares her story, favorite flowers, and expert care tips.
For Rachelle Bare, owner of The Flower Garage Gilbert, flowers are about much more than beautiful arrangements. They’re a way to celebrate life’s moments, brighten everyday spaces, and bring people together through creativity. After years as a wedding planner in Arizona, Rachelle knew she was ready for something of her own. “I have been so blessed in my career,” she says. “I’ve had the chance to raise my girls while working as a wedding planner, but I’ve always desired to build something on my own where I could use my love for creativity, beauty, and people.”
She admired founder Dani Christakos and The Flower Garage from afar, drawn to both the stunning floral designs and the sense of community the business had created. When the opportunity to franchise became available, she knew it was the perfect fit. “When I heard she decided to franchise, I immediately reached out,” Rachelle says. “It has been an amazing journey, and I feel like I am right where I’m supposed to be.” As fall arrives, Rachelle looks forward to incorporating the season’s rich colors into her arrangements. Growing up in the Midwest, autumn has always been her favorite time of year.

“The richness in the warmer toned flowers is so beautiful,” she says. “Fall to me is linked to thankfulness and change.” One of the shop’s signature seasonal favorites is its handcrafted succulent pumpkins, combining natural textures with timeless fall style. Beyond their beauty, Rachelle loves helping customers discover the meaning behind different blooms. “A rose is a symbol of love, lavender represents grace, and sunflowers bring joy,” she says. “At The Flower Garage, we believe all flowers bring joy and meaning. Our motto is Gather, Create, Bloom.”
“You don’t need a special occasion to buy, gift, or enjoy flowers. Give yourself or others a reason to smile just because.” She also encourages people to enjoy flowers in their homes, not just for special occasions. When selecting an arrangement, she recommends first thinking about where it will live. “If it’s going on a coffee table or dining table, you don’t want it to be too tall,” she says. “If it’s in an entryway, you want your flowers to create beauty from the side people will see first.” Rachelle enjoys teaching simple floral techniques during workshops, including gently spinning roses to help them bloom naturally and opening carnations to create a softer, more elegant appearance. Keeping flowers fresh also starts with the basics. “You always want to start with a clean vase, fresh warm water, and flower food,” she says. “Remove the leaves below the water line and always cut your stems on an angle.” She notes that leaving leaves in the water is one of the most common mistakes people make because they create bacteria that shorten the life of an arrangement. Rather than chasing trends, Rachelle prefers timeless designs featuring magnolia leaves, natural branches, wooden boxes, and rich seasonal blooms. She also recommends carrying a consistent color palette throughout the home to create warmth and continuity. “You don’t need a special occasion to buy, gift, or enjoy flowers,” Rachelle says. “Give yourself or others a reason to smile just because. ‘The earth laughs in flowers,’ and so should you.”

Nest Home & CO. FINDS Its Home IN GILBERT Tyler and Travy bring inspired design and heartfelt hospitality home. ARTICLE BY KYLIE STRAWN-BADGER PHOTOGRAPHY BY KATIE LEVINE PHOTOGRAPHY
For Tyler and Travy Williams, the arrival of Nest Home & Co. in the East Valley is more than the opening of a second showroom. It is a homecoming of sorts, bringing a business built around beautiful spaces, meaningful relationships, and genuine hospitality to the community they already call home. The couple has long shared an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for connecting with people. Early in their careers, they lived in Asia as expats while managing operations for an international corporation, an experience that expanded their worldview and strengthened their business knowledge. Along the way, the dream of creating something of their own continued to grow. Home furnishings and interior design eventually became the natural next chapter. “We’ve always enjoyed creating beautiful spaces, working together, and helping others,” they share. “What inspired us most wasn’t simply selling furniture or décor; it was the opportunity to make a positive impact by helping people create homes that reflect who they are.” That philosophy became Nest Home & Co., a furniture and home décor destination centered as much on the experience as the pieces themselves. Now, Tyler and Travy are preparing to introduce that experience to Gilbert with a new boutique showroom in Gilbert-adjacent East Mesa and a grand opening planned for October 1st through 4th, 2026. For the couple, choosing Gilbert and the East Valley was deeply personal. “This community has been such a blessing to our family, and opening a showroom here is our way of giving back,” they say. “As the East Valley continues to grow, we’re excited to bring thoughtfully curated furniture, home décor, and personalized interior design services to the community we know and love.”

Inside the new showroom, guests can expect an inviting mix of furniture, statement lighting, luxurious textiles, realistic greenery, seasonal accessories, and distinctive décor. Carefully styled vignettes will offer inspiration for bringing different elements together, while the Nest Home & Co. team will be available to help customers translate those ideas into their own spaces. Every detail, from the music and displays to the showroom layout, is intentionally designed to create what Tyler and Travy describe as a “happy place.” The collection itself is equally thoughtful. Pieces are selected based on quality, craftsmanship, functionality, and timeless
style, with the couple spending countless hours researching trends and visiting markets. Beyond the showroom floor, customers also have access to thousands of furnishings through Nest Home & Co.’s vendor partners, expanding the possibilities for personalized spaces. For those who find decorating intimidating, Tyler and Travy encourage starting simply. “Start with your goals and your budget, then let us help guide the rest,” they say. Whether someone needs one finishing touch or support with an entire home, their goal is to make design feel approachable, exciting, and personal. CONTINUED >

As Nest Home & Co. prepares to open its East Valley doors, Tyler and Travy hope to become more than another place to shop. They envision a trusted local resource where customers stop in for ideas, discover something unexpected, and build relationships along the way. “We want everyone to know that they are always welcomed at our store,” they share. “It is truly a happy place where we genuinely care.” With its grand opening set for early October, Nest Home & Co. is ready to begin its next chapter in the East Valley, inviting Gilbert residents to step inside, find inspiration, and discover new ways to make home feel entirely their own.

The Art of Aesthetics PHOTOGRAPHY BY SKINWAY
Luxury aesthetics is becoming less about quick fixes and more about investing in the long-term health, strength and appearance of the skin. With today’s technology, treatments can go beyond addressing what we see in the mirror, targeting many of the underlying factors that contribute to aging, pigmentation, texture and persistent skin concerns. At SkinWay Medspa, advanced treatments are paired with a personalized approach designed around each patient’s skin, lifestyle and goals. From reversing visible signs of sun exposure to stimulating collagen and simplifying everyday beauty routines, the focus is on creating results that are both meaningful and natural-looking. Laser resurfacing can address pigmentation, redness, texture and signs of aging, while laser hair reduction offers a long-term solution for unwanted hair and stubborn ingrown hairs. Microneedling encourages the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin, helping improve concerns such as scarring, pigmentation and overall texture. Neuromodulators can soften expression lines while also offering therapeutic benefits for concerns including excessive sweating, muscle tension and headaches. The value of modern aesthetics lies in choosing treatments with intention. At SkinWay, that means combining education, experience and advanced technology to help patients make informed decisions about their skin and create results designed to last.

LASER RESURFACING Arizona summers can leave their mark on the skin long after the season ends. Laser resurfacing helps clear accumulated hyperpigmentation and redness while improving texture and encouraging tighter, refreshed-looking skin. At SkinWay, treatments can also target senescent and precancerous cells, as well as C. acnes bacteria associated with persistent breakouts, making this treatment about more than appearance. It’s a strategic reset for healthier-looking skin.
LASER HAIR REDUCTION
MICRONEEDLING
NEUROMODULATORS
Beyond the convenience of less shaving, waxing or threading, laser hair reduction can be especially valuable for those who struggle with stubborn ingrown hairs, irritation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. SkinWay’s experienced providers have treated patients across a wide range of skin tones, an important consideration when selecting laser settings safely and effectively. Over time, it can also become a more cost-effective approach to unwanted hair.
Microneedling works with the skin rather than relying on heat, creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate natural collagen and elastin production. A strategically timed series can produce more significant results than an occasional treatment, helping improve scar tissue, active acne, pigmentation and overall texture. It can also benefit reactive skin concerns, including melasma and rosacea, by helping train the skin to become less reactive over time.
Botox and other neuromodulators are often an introduction to medical aesthetics because results can begin appearing within two weeks. By softening targeted muscle movement, treatments can reduce the appearance of expression lines while maintaining a natural look. Their benefits can extend beyond aesthetics, too. At SkinWay, neuromodulators may also be used for excessive sweating, jaw or trapezius tension, and certain types of headaches.

If you have ever spent an evening wondering what on earth to drink, this is your answer. It was practically designed for the way we live in Arizona, where the pool is the living room and the good stuff comes out when people gather. For her it is never really about what is in the glass. It is about the people around the table, actually present with each other. That “her” is Danica Patrick. You know her as the fearless driver who rewrote what was possible for women in racing, the one who led laps at the Indy 500, won the Indy Japan 300
in 2008. Ask her now which is the bigger rush, the checkered flag or a harvest morning, and the answer tells you everything. “Crossing the finish line first was over in a second,” she says. “Walking the vineyard on a harvest morning, that feeling stays with me all day.” When she is not on her 22-acre Napa estate, she is right here in the Valley, which makes her wine feel a little like our own. Longtime readers may remember we first sat down with Danica a few years back, when the retired racing legend was

pouring that same competitive heart into a second act as a Napa vintner. It all started with a single dinner. In 2006, a meal at The French Laundry sent her to a Napa tasting the next morning, and by the time the fog burned off the hillside, she was all in. Not just for the place. For wine itself. Three years later she bought a bare, undeveloped slope on Howell Mountain and built a vineyard out of nothing but dirt and a view. She called it Somnium. Dream, in Latin. Those hillside Cabernets are what she pours when she wants people to linger. But her heart has a third home in Provence, that sun-drunk stretch of France that basically invented the rosé that tastes like a day off. And that is where Danica Rosé lives. It is pure Provence, grown, made, and bottled there start to finish with her business partner Julien Fayard, whose

family has worked that soil for generations. He is also the winemaker behind her Somnium Cabernets, so the same careful hands touch both. “Julien and I work closely on the vision for it,” Danica says,.The wine is dry, with no added sugars. All the flavor comes from the fruit, nothing else, which is exactly how she and Julien like it. This is a bottle you open and then forget to fuss over, because it makes everything around it easier. Grilled shrimp on the patio. A cheese board nobody planned. That first pour when the sun finally drops below the fence line.

Not that any of it is effortless. Danica does not do anything halfway, and she is the first to admit the vineyard taught her a different kind of winning. “In racing, winning means being faster than everyone else that one day,” she says. “Winemaking doesn’t work that way. The vineyard humbles you like that.” She points to the little red dot on every Somnium label, the one that means you are here. “It’s a daily reminder for me as much as anyone,” she says. “It’s easy to say be present. It’s another thing to catch yourself doing it.” Ask her to picture the perfect evening and she does not hesitate. “The sun’s going down on my Scottsdale patio, the sky is pink, my dogs are out in the grass, and I’ve got a glass of Danica Rosé over ice,” she says. “I feel like all three places at once. The discipline of Napa, the ease of Provence, right here in the desert I call home.”
THE DANICA SPRITZ Danica made a rosé built for gathering, so we built a little ritual around it. THE SPRITZ
This is the pour for the evening the heat finally breaks and friends wander over. • Fill a large wine glass with ice. • Pour in three ounces of chilled Danica Rosé • Top with two ounces of sparkling water • Add a splash of St-Germain (if feeling fancy) • Drop in a few fresh strawberries and a sprig of mint • Give it one gentle stir and let the color do the rest.
THE NIBBLE
The wine’s bright cranberry and mandarin notes love a little salt, so lean into it. • Set out a board while the ice melts a little. • Marcona almonds • A wedge of aged manchego • A bowl of citrus-marinated olives • A warm bread torn by hand Prefer to keep it simple? Chill the bottle and pour. Danica made a wine that asks for nothing but good company and a moment to slow down. Danica Rosé and Somnium wines are available in Arizona. Kim Worswick creates timeless interiors designed for beautiful living. ARTICLE BY KYLIE STRAWN-BADGER PHOTOGRAPHY BY KATIE LEVINE PHOTOGRAPHY & STEPHANIE STUDER @LIFECREATED

For Kim Worswick, owner of Kimberley Kay Interiors, exceptional design is about far more than creating a beautiful room. It is about understanding how a home should feel, how a family actually lives, and how thoughtful details can transform everyday life. Her connection to design began early. “While other kids played with dolls, I was obsessed with decorating the dollhouse,” Kim says. “I loved creating beautiful rooms and imagining how people would live in them.” That childhood fascination eventually became a career. After working for a local interior designer and unexpectedly losing her job, Kim took a leap of faith and launched Kimberley Kay Interiors. Today, her work extends well beyond Arizona, with projects taking her from Napa and Manhattan Beach to Nashville and Naples. No matter the location, every project begins with the client. “I always start by studying my client’s inspiration photos to understand what truly lights them up,” she explains. Rather than focusing solely on individual colors, furnishings or finishes, Kim looks for patterns in how clients want their surroundings to make them feel. From there, the creative process unfolds organically. Sometimes an entire design can begin with a striking accent chair, an unforgettable wallpaper or a statement light fixture. “That one piece often becomes the catalyst for everything else,” she says. It is an approach that helps create interiors that feel collected rather than overly decorated. Meaningful artwork, family heirlooms, favorite books and pieces discovered while traveling can all find a place alongside sophisticated furnishings and finishes.

“The most beautiful homes aren’t filled with trendy accessories,” Kim says. “They’re layered with pieces that tell your story while supporting the overall design of the home.” For homeowners hoping to elevate their own spaces, Kim points to custom draperies as one of design’s most transformative finishing touches. Greenery, layered textures, beautiful lighting and thoughtfully selected artwork can also give a room warmth and dimension. “The goal is never to fill a room. It’s to curate it,” she says. While Kim appreciates current movements toward curved silhouettes, warm woods, natural stone, richer colors and layered textures, she cautions against allowing trends to dictate an entire home. Details such as scalloped edges, fluting and reeded finishes can be striking when used selectively, while natural materials such as marble possess a longevity that transcends passing styles. Luxury, however, should never come at the expense of livability. “A beautiful home should be lived in, not tiptoed around,” Kim says. For families with children, pets or a love of entertaining, performance fabrics, durable rugs and resilient finishes allow sophisticated interiors to withstand everyday life. One space she believes deserves greater attention is the primary bedroom. Because guests rarely see it, homeowners often leave it until last. Kim believes the opposite approach can have a profound effect.

“Your bedroom is where you begin and end every day,” she says. “It’s where you decompress, recharge and leave behind the stress of work and everyday life.” Ultimately, Kim measures a successful project not simply by how it photographs, but by how her clients feel when they return home. “My hope is that every client walks into their home and feels an immediate sense of peace,” she says. “I want them to feel seen, inspired, and proud of the space we’ve created together a home that feels like them, only better.”
