Phoenix Children's & Ralph Lauren Collection Benefits Native Families

Phoenix Children’s Foundation joins the second release of the Polo Ralph Lauren x Naiomi Glasses Collection. This collaboration, launched March 21, supports the foundation’s Patient and Family Assistance Fund for Native American Families and the Center for Cleft & Craniofacial Care.

Naiomi Glasses, a former Phoenix Children’s patient and seventh-generation Diné (Navajo) textile artist, designed the “Color in Motion” collection. “Navajo weaving is a craft that has carried on through my family for seven generations,” Glasses explains. “To now be able to share it with people around the world is a dream come true.”

The collection aims to empower wearers while supporting Indigenous artists. “When people wear the collection, I want them to feel confident and know they are supporting the work of a Native artist,” says Glasses. She now serves as an advisor for the Phoenix Children’s Center for Cleft & Craniofacial Care.

Glasses’ personal journey with Phoenix Children’s Foundation inspired this collaboration. Finding solace in skateboarding after childhood bullying, she incorporated these experiences into her designs.

Proceeds will help Indigenous patients and families overcome financial barriers, including transportation, housing, and treatment costs.

Luxury goods insurance protects high-value items such as jewelry, art, antiques, wine stocks, and rare automobiles. However, its importance extends far beyond these traditional categories to encompass a wide array of assets that often get overlooked. Haute couture, solar panels, vintage books, toy collections, sports memorabilia, and musical instruments are also worth considering. Some of the more surprising treasures that might be in Gilbert homes right now include a collection of three factory-sealed Rocky VHS tapes valued at $25,000, a rare vinyl record of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan fetching up to $35,000, the famous $200,000 Princess Diana Beanie Baby, an original 1931 Dracula film poster recently sold at auction for $525,800, or a vintage issue of D.C.’s Detective Comics introducing Batman currently worth $1.38 million. The range of valuables vulnerable to theft, loss, or damage is certainly diverse. The misconception is that standard homeowner’s or renter’s insurance covers these items. Sarah Scott, an agent with The Mahoney Group, explains, “A basic homeowner’s policy has a $1500 sub limit for jewelry. Think about what

you’ve accumulated, is it more than that? And not just the women’s items that most people think of, men might have extensive watch collections that should be included.” That’s why it’s so important to be familiar with existing policies and have additional, specific policies for unique valuables.

The first step is to consult with an agent to review any existing insurance and plan a path forward. Scott emphasizes the importance of personally finding an empathetic agent who is a good fit. “You have to feel comfortable asking questions. Insurance is a foreign language to most people.” Next, Scott and members of her team frequently assist clients in facilitating appraisals and navigating interim coverage while waiting for results. They also direct clients to recommended resources for cataloging, which is crucial for monitoring item status within collections. Once all the important information is gathered, a perk of going with a brokerage like The Mahoney Group is that they work with dozens of providers, so they have the flexibility of really making the right match between clients with special items or circumstances and one of their A-rated carriers. “This is an investment to protect your financial future and you need a program that fits your situation,” says Scott.

For instance, with wearables it’s a good idea to have worldwide protection, so that items are covered even while traveling. Handbags can be tricky to find coverage for, because the risk is greater with something carried around, but Scott says she knows which companies are best to partner with in such cases. Sometimes collections constantly change, with owners frequently buying and selling. In this situation Scott suggests that blanket coverage can be a good idea, which means the total collection can be insured for a certain total amount, e.g. $500,000, with any individual item being protected up to another certain amount, e.g. $10,000.

Additionally, Scott and her team can recommend various professionals to help with different aspects of ownership that shouldn’t be neglected. Proper storage can be essential for maintaining good condition in many cases. When items require relocation, they can provide guidance regarding specialty packers and shippers experienced with high-value goods. Restoration and reappraisal services may be necessary periodically. If an owner decides to sell, The Mahoney Group can facilitate connections with reputable auction houses that specialize in the right categories.

Policy maintenance with The Mahoney Group includes annual check-ins with a detailed review of

changes in the market and recommended updates. In addition to staying abreast of current market trends through extensive reading and research, Scott and her team are all CPRIA Certified or working towards it. The Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor certificate is tailored for professionals in the high-net-worth sector, equipping advisors to deliver optimal solutions for intricate challenges. “We are a highly seasoned team,” Scott says, “most of us have been in this industry for decades. Everyone is experienced at accessing risks, understanding what’s happening and where clients are at, educating clients, and knowing how we’re going to protect you and your family.”

If The Mahoney Group’s clients experience misfortune, they find reassurance in expert care. “We have excellent relationships with carrier,” she says. “If something goes wrong, they always do what is fair.” We really trust each other, and clients can trust our us.”When a client loses a wedding ring, they often receive compensation with minimal frustration. If artwork sustains smoke damage in a house fire, policies can cover the cost CONTINUED >

of proper removal and cleaning. Scott explains, “Everyone is very sensitive to what the client is going through. We’re working to protect things that matter most in people’s lives. Sometimes they’re the things they’ve worked hardest to acquire.”

One memorable story involves a member of Scott’s team and their client’s $18,000 flute insured with Chubb. After the flute was stolen during a routine tune-up, Chubb swiftly sent reimbursement, but they also took the extra step of sending the serial number to a stolen merchandise network. About seven weeks later, the flute

surfaced in Savannah, Georgia. Police were notified, and the thief was apprehended. The insured was overjoyed to regain their cherished flute, a gift from a family member, and although they eventually returned the reimbursement, it was only after confirming the flute’s safe return and damage-free condition.

For Scott, the heart of this anecdote is that “just because Chubb cut the check didn’t mean they gave up the chase. The money doesn’t really replace any valuable article.”

Scott understands that sentimentality is what truly makes things priceless.

THE WARDROBE WHISPERER

RISA KOSTIS: TRANSFORMING CLOSETS AND CONFIDENCE IN THE VALLEY

Risa Kostis has been a style authority in the Valley since 2014, and she’s not slowing down. With a career spanning over two decades in the fashion and beauty industries, Kostis has become a go-to expert for those seeking to elevate their personal style. But who is Risa Kostis, and why does her story matter?

Kostis’s journey into the world of fashion is one of resilience and determination. At 17, she survived a severe car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury and facial injuries requiring multiple surgeries. This experience sparked her passion for skincare and makeup, leading her to cosmetology school in Boston. From there, she launched her career in bridal hair and makeup at just 21 years old.

Her big break came when a fashion designer client propelled her into the world of high fashion, reminiscent of “The Devil Wears Prada.” This experience, coupled with her time in New York City working in fashion PR, gave Kostis a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

In 2014, she founded her styling company in Phoenix, Arizona, which has since evolved into a sought-after destination for personalized fashion expertise.

What sets Kostis apart is her holistic approach to styling. “One of my specialties is really looking at what you have,” she explains. “I help clients edit their closets, focusing on pieces they know and love, then work in timeless pieces specifically chosen for them.” This philosophy of blending the old with the new is at the core of her styling ethos.

Kostis’s client base is diverse, ranging from professional athletes and celebrities to everyday individuals looking to invest in their appearance. Her work with families early in her career gave her a unique perspective on dressing people of all ages, from babies to adults. This experience, combined with her background in PR, manufacturing, and production, has given her a 360-degree view of what it means to dress someone head to toe.

While Kostis stays informed about current trends, she’s not one to blindly follow what the fashion industry dictates. “I’m not somebody who lives and breathes fashion trends,” she admits. “I like my clients to stand out and feel different. I sprinkle in what’s happening in mainstream fashion because it’s important to stay relevant, but I always incorporate elements that work for each individual’s personal style.”

This fall, Kostis encourages her clients to focus on quality over quantity. “Invest in wellmade, versatile pieces that can transition from season to season,” she advises. “Look for rich, autumnal colors and textures that can easily mix with your existing wardrobe.”

As for trends to watch, Kostis predicts a return to sophisticated silhouettes with a modern twist. “We’re seeing a lot of tailored suits paired with unexpected accessories,” she notes. “Don’t be afraid to mix patterns or incorporate bold statement pieces into your look.”

Expanding on fall fashion trends, Kostis highlights several key elements to consider. “This season, we’re seeing a resurgence of ‘90s and early 2000s influences,” she explains. “Think oversized blazers, chunky loafers, and statement collar shirts.” She also points out the continued popularity of sustainable and ethical fashion. “More clients are asking for eco-friendly options and pieces with longevity,” Kostis observes.

Color-wise, Kostis suggests embracing earthy tones like moss green, rust, and deep burgundy, balanced with softer shades like

camel and cream. “These colors are perfect for layering, which is essential for fall,” she adds. In terms of fabrics, she recommends luxurious textures like velvet, corduroy, and soft knits. “These materials add depth and interest to any outfit,” Kostis notes.

For accessories, Kostis predicts statement belts, oversized scarves, and bold jewelry will be big this season. “Accessories are an easy way to update your look and incorporate trends without overhauling your entire wardrobe,” she advises.

Kostis’s expertise extends beyond personal styling. She’s also the co-founder and CEO of The Rescue Kit Company, a company specializing in fashion emergency kits for brides and for anyone who gets dressed. This venture grew out of her experience problem-solving on the fly during wedding day emergencies.

Through her work, Risa Kostis continues to empower clients to express their individuality through fashion. Her story is one of transformation – not just of wardrobes, but of lives. By helping people feel confident in their appearance, she’s making a lasting impact on the fashion landscape of the Valley and beyond.

GLASS DREAMS COME TRUE

ARTICLE BY KYLIES STRAWN-BADGER | PHOTOGRAPHY BY JAMES LEE

UNVEIL THE MAGIC OF DREAM WALLS AS THEY BLUR BOUNDARIES BETWEEN HOME AND NATURE, ELEVATING EVERYDAY LIVING INTO AN ART FORM.

In the world of home design, a revolution is quietly taking place. The latest trend blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces is not just functional—it’s a statement of style that’s transforming homes into breathtaking showcases of modern aesthetics. At the forefront of this beautiful revolution is Dream Walls, a family-owned business that’s elevating home design to an art form.

The inspiration behind Dream Walls emerged from a growing desire for seamless indoor-outdoor living. “We noticed that every modern custom and model home featured large format glass with oversized windows and multi-paneled door systems that open to the outdoors,” explains John Pehrson, the founder. “We wanted to bring this transformative experience to existing homes.” This vision tapped into a fundamental shift in how homeowners perceive their living spaces, recognizing the potential for homes to be more than just shelters, but gateways to nature and expansive living.

What makes Dream Walls stand out in the realm of home transformation? It’s their unique blend of structural expertise and design vision. “We’re not just installers,” John emphasizes. “We’re a design and structural team. Understanding the home’s structure is crucial to properly transfer loads and ensure the strength of the house.” This comprehensive approach ensures that each project is not only visually stunning but also structurally sound, addressing both the aesthetic and practical aspects of home renovation.

The Dream Walls approach goes beyond mere renovation. They’re creating architectural features that redefine the entire aesthetic and functionality of a home. Large format glass, oversized windows, and multi-paneled door systems don’t just open

up a space—they create a new canvas for living, blending the textures of the outdoors with the comfort of interior spaces.

The name “Dream Walls” has become synonymous with this new standard of home transformation. “When clients see the final result, their reactions are incredible,” John shares. “They describe it as ‘game-changing’ and ‘transformative’. It’s not just a change to their home—it’s a reimagining of their entire living experience.”

The appeal of a Dream Walls project extends beyond the visual impact. The company’s efficient process, often completing installations in as little as four days, means that homeowners can enjoy their transformed space with minimal disruption to their lives. It’s a change that happens almost as if by magic—fitting for a company named Dream Walls.

Looking to the future, Dream Walls sees the demand for seamless indoor-outdoor spaces only growing. As technology advances, allowing for even larger glass panels and more innovative designs, the potential for creating truly extraordinary home spaces is limitless.

For those inspired to elevate their living experience, Dream Walls offers a consultation process that’s as smooth and appealing as their installations. “We understand that everyone’s vision for their home is unique,” the founder notes. “Our approach is to listen to the homeowner’s dreams and then show them possibilities they might never have imagined.”

These simple steps can help maximize the impact of your indoor-outdoor living space, ensuring that your new area is not only beautiful but also functional and comfortable year-round.

In a world where the appreciation for thoughtful home design is at an all-time high, Dream Walls is setting a new standard for residential living. They’re not just installing doors and windows— they’re crafting new perspectives, creating light-filled spaces that blur the line between home and nature.

As we continue to redefine what makes a home extraordinary, the Dream Walls concept stands as a shining example of how functional elements can become transformative features. In homes across Arizona and beyond, these stunning installations are turning ordinary rooms into magazine-worthy spaces, proving that with the right vision, any home can become a masterpiece of modern living.

Whether you’re planning a major overhaul or simply seeking to add a touch of extraordinary to your home, the Dream Walls approach offers an inspiring path forward. In the quest for the perfect blend of form and function, one thing is clear: with Dream Walls, the way we experience our homes is being reimagined, one stunning vista at a time.

As homeowners increasingly seek ways to enhance their living spaces and connect with their surroundings, the Dream Walls revolution is poised to continue shaping the future of home design. By breaking down barriers between indoor and outdoor spaces, they’re not just changing homes—they’re transforming lifestyles, creating environments that invite us to live more fully, more beautifully, and more in harmony with the world around us.

MOAB'S UNDER CANVAS REDEFINES LUXURY AMID ICONIC NATIONAL PARK LANDSCAPES"

Moab's Luxe Desert Glamping

ARTICLE BY KRISTA CARPENTER-BEASLEY PHOTOGRAPHY BY KRISTA CARPENTER-BEASLEY & UNDER CANVAS MOAB

The tents at Moab Under Canvas strike a perfect balance between luxury and rustic ambiance. Designed for comfort, they feature real beds with hotel-quality bedding.

For a unique and luxurious outdoor experience near Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, glamping with Under Canvas in Moab, Utah offers the perfect solution. As someone who dislikes traditional camping, I find glamping to be an ideal alternative, eliminating inconveniences while providing comfort and luxury.

The Moab Under Canvas location, situated just 7 miles north of both national parks, serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring Utah's desert landscape. Upon arrival, friendly staff in the main "Lobby" tent greet guests, offering a tour of the grounds and luggage transport to your tent.

While this Under Canvas doesn't have an on-site restaurant, they offer Grab 'n Go snacks, and the nearby town of Moab provides plenty of dining options. The communal tent offers complimentary hot beverages, s'mores fixings, and water bottles. Complementary camp activities like yoga are available, along with a picnic area, grills, and a communal fire pit for social gatherings.

The tents at Moab Under Canvas strike a perfect balance between luxury and rustic ambiance. Designed for comfort, they feature real beds with hotel-quality bedding. Amenities like towels, robes, and organic bath products add an extra touch of luxury, while West Elm furnishings elevate the overall experience.

Accommodation options vary in terms of bathroom facilities. The Suite, Stargazer, and Deluxe tents have private bathrooms, while the Safari tent uses a shared bathhouse. Our tent had a regular flushing toilet and a hot water shower, though you need to hold a chain to operate the shower.

One unique aspect of Moab Under Canvas is the intentional lack of Wi-Fi, encouraging guests to disconnect from technology and immerse themselves in nature. Instead of reaching for your phone, you can unwind and enjoy quality time with companions. Consider packing games or bringing a bottle of wine to enjoy on your porch as you watch the sunset.

It's worth noting that the tents don't have electricity. However, Under Canvas provides battery packs for rechargeable lanterns and fans, which can be swapped out for fresh ones as needed. This is particularly useful during summer evenings when fans can make a significant difference in comfort.

The customer service at Under Canvas Moab is exceptional. The staff is prompt, friendly, and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure guests' needs are met. Whether providing water and ice to combat the heat or being attentive to requests, their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident.

While the accommodations and amenities are comfortable, it's important to note that the Moab location is near a freeway and train tracks, which may result in some noise. If absolute quiet is a priority, this is something to consider.

The proximity to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks makes Under Canvas Moab an ideal basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're into hiking, climbing, or mountain biking, the area's towering plateaus, majestic sandstone cliffs, and incredible geologic formations are all within reach. Exploring these

natural wonders during the day and returning to the comfort of your glamping tent at night creates a truly unforgettable experience.

For those who enjoy the Under Canvas experience, exploring their other locations around the country offers unique settings and adventures. Each site provides its own distinct landscape and nearby attractions to explore.

Moab Under Canvas offers a remarkable getaway that appeals to those seeking various experiences, whether it's adventure, tranquility, or a connection with nature. It provides an opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and immerse oneself in natural beauty while still enjoying modern comforts.

The glamping experience at Under Canvas Moab combines the best of both worlds – the adventure of

camping with the comforts of a hotel. You can enjoy the stars at night from your tent, wake up to stunning desert views, and then head out for a day of exploration in some of America's most beautiful national parks.

The attention to detail in the accommodations is impressive. From the comfortable beds to the carefully chosen furnishings, every aspect is designed to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The organic bath products and provided robes add a touch of luxury that you wouldn't expect in a camping situation.

While the lack of Wi-Fi might be challenging for some, it's a deliberate choice that encourages guests to fully engage with their surroundings and companions. It's a chance to rediscover the joy of conversation, stargazing, or simply sitting in peaceful contemplation of the beautiful landscape.

The communal aspects of the camp, such as the fire pit and picnic areas, provide opportunities to meet fellow travelers and share experiences. Yet, the individual tents offer plenty of privacy when you want it. This balance of social and private spaces is one of the strengths of the Under Canvas model.

The eco-friendly approach of Under Canvas is also worth noting. The use of rechargeable lanterns and fans, along with the emphasis on connecting with nature, aligns with a growing desire for more sustainable travel options.

While the nearby road and train tracks might be a drawback for some, many guests find that the overall experience more than makes up for occasional noise. The unique opportunity to sleep in comfort while being so close to nature is something that many visitors find truly special.

For those considering a visit to Arches or Canyonlands National Parks, staying at Under Canvas Moab offers a distinctive alternative to traditional hotels or camping. It allows you to extend your immersion in the landscape beyond your daytime explorations, creating a more holistic experience of the area.

The Under Canvas experience caters to a wide range of travelers. It's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a comfortable base for their explorations, couples seeking a romantic getaway in nature, families wanting to introduce their children to the outdoors without the hassle of

traditional camping, or anyone who wants to dip their toes into camping without sacrificing too many creature comforts.

One of the highlights of staying at Under Canvas Moab is the opportunity to stargaze. The lack of light pollution in the area, combined with the clear desert skies, provides spectacular views of the night sky. Many guests find this to be one of the most memorable aspects of their stay.

The location also serves as an excellent base for day trips. Besides the nearby national parks, guests can explore the Colorado River, go on guided tours of the surrounding desert, or visit the charming town of Moab itself, known for its art galleries, restaurants, and outdoor gear shops.

In conclusion, Under Canvas Moab provides a unique and memorable way to experience the natural wonders of Utah. By combining comfort with adventure, luxury with simplicity, it creates an experience that appeals to a wide range of travelers. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or someone who wants to experience nature without roughing it, Under Canvas Moab offers an appealing option. The memories created here – of starry nights, desert sunrises, and the comfort of a well-appointed tent after a day of adventure – are likely to stay with you long after your visit has ended. It's a testament to how glamping can provide a bridge between traditional hotels and camping, offering the best of both worlds in one unforgettable package.

Falling for Wine

SPICE UP YOU AUTUMN DINNER PARTIES WITH EFFORTLESS WINE PAIRINGS

As the heat finally relents and the evenings turn pleasantly cool, it’s the perfect time for Gilbert residents to host outdoor dinner parties. But which wines should grace your table this fall? Whether you’re firing up the grill or organizing a potluck, the right wine selections can transform a simple get-together into a memorable occasion. Let’s explore some approachable wine pairings that will impress your guests and complement your autumn menu, all while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable.

Your backyard oasis is ready for entertaining. The patio lights are twinkling, there’s a gentle breeze, and the aroma of grilled meats and roasted vegetables fills the air. Start the night off right with a crisp, sparkling wine. A good Prosecco or Cava sets a festive mood without being overly fancy or expensive. As you transition to appetizers, consider pouring a versatile white like Viognier. Its floral notes and fullbody pair wonderfully with fall favorites such as butternut squash soup or a cheese board featuring local Arizona gouda.

For the main course, Pinot Noir is your go-to option. Its versatility makes it a crowd-pleaser, complementing everything from herb-roasted chicken to grilled pork tenderloin. If you’re serving heartier fare like beef brisket or a rich pasta dish, opt for a bolder red such as Zinfandel or Syrah.

Don’t forget dessert! A late-harvest Riesling pairs beautifully with apple crisp or pumpkin cheesecake, its sweetness harmonizing with those classic autumn spices. Remember, the key to successful wine pairing for a casual gathering is to keep things simple and approachable. Offer a mix of lighter and fuller-bodied wines to cater to different preferences. Here are some reliable options you can find at your local Total Wine or Fry’s:

• La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

• Ruffino Prosecco

• The Prisoner Red Blend

These wines offer excellent quality for their price point and are sure to please a variety of palates. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the company of your guests. After all it’s about creating warm memories with good friends and neighbors. Here’s to a wonderful fall evening under the Arizona stars!

DISCOVER THE LATEST TRENDS IN DOG FASHION, FROM CHIC COLLARS TO STYLISH OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES.

ARTICLE BY KRISANN VALDEZ

PHOTOGRAPHY BY HANNAH CARL @PAWSITIVELYHANNAH

When my family brought home a wheaten terrier puppy we named Maple, I picked a ditzy pink Rifle Paper Co. collar for her thick, fluffy coat. She outgrew the collar, so I replaced it with a golden-clasped, sunny floral one, envisioning how cute she’d look at the farmer’s market or on walks in the neighborhood.

“Dogs are oftentimes seen as an extension of our personal style, self-expression, and wider family,” Tommy Hilfiger said in a statement

after the brand released its first pet collection in April 2023. The collection featured all-American prep styles such as classic polos and branded hoodies, monoblock sweaters, and a bright red raincoat.

The day I stood in the aisle, greeted with numerous collar and leash choices at my local pet store, I knew my dog needed a collar reflecting my tastes. Most recently, I have been looking at the Bridgerton Maxbone leash set, inspired by the addictive series on Netflix. While I love the show, I love this set even more–powder blue with a floral Toile print and a jacket with Bridgerton patches. It’s romantic and chic, making me picture

strolling through a wooded park or garden with my dog.

Pet fashion is not just a niche market anymore. A quick search online reveals hundreds of landing pages touting canines and cats in parka coats, costumes, and hand-smocked dresses—causing my children to beg and plead we dress our dog Maple up. And why not? Dressing pets in weather-appropriate clothing, like sweaters and raincoats, shields them from the elements, while birthday hats and tutus are irresistible for pictures and special occasions.  (Ensure your pet is comfortable and their movement isn’t restricted too much, so they can still run, jump, and play freely.)

For the fashion-forward pup who loves to make a statement, designer doggy sunglasses are becoming all the rage. From retro cat-eye frames to aviator-style shades, these accessories look adorable and protect your dog’s eyes from harmful UV rays.

There are so many fun trends happening in pet fashion right now—from Hamburger and French Fries-Themed looks to festive sports looks, there’s something to fit every pet owner’s tastes. Customizable necklaces and collars can also highlight a pet’s personality.

A bandana is one of the easiest, most relaxed ways to dress up your pet.

My favorites are irreversible options. Bandanas are stylish but purposeful, too. They catch drool, offer warmth in the winter, soak down in summer, and protect from bugs, fleas, and parasites. Reflective or bright bandanas can help drivers see your dog at night or off-leash.

As September ushers in the first hints of fall, dog fashion takes on a cozy, autumnal vibe. This month is about transitional pieces that blend summer’s playfulness with fall’s warmth. Maple’s wardrobe now includes a lightweight plaid flannel shirt perfect for crisp morning walks and pumpkin patch visits. I’ve also added a few

autumn-themed bandanas to her collection – one adorned with cute little acorns and another featuring a pattern of colorful falling leaves.

Many people like to have options for their pet, their baby. If you feel that you need any of these feature looks for your fur baby, just head over to Pixie Sticks Dog Boutique, a brickand-mortar shop in Gilbert (Recker & Williamsfield), and a “click and brick” website offering a carefully curated selection of pet goods.

Since so many owners want to pamper their pets these days, pet fashion is clearly here to stay.

Dr. Hanna Mansoor, a passionate dentist in Gilbert, AZ, shares valuable insights and tips on achieving and maintaining a stunning smile.

For those with deep staining or cracks in their teeth, veneers can provide a uniform, white look. Veneers are thin coverings placed over the front part of the teeth, ideal for addressing uneven teeth or gums. One of the most exciting advancements in cosmetic dentistry is Digital Smile Design, allowing dentists to create a custom smile for a patient and simulate the results before any procedure begins. With 3D printing, patients can see a model of their new smile, ensuring satisfaction with the expected outcome.

Lasers in cosmetic dentistry offer numerous benefits, being less invasive, reducing bleeding and swelling, and minimizing pain during and after procedures. Laser technology can be used for gum reshaping, cavity detection, and even whitening treatments. Dental implants are another excellent option for those suffering from tooth loss. Implants provide a permanent solution that looks and feels like natural teeth, maintaining the structure of the jawbone and preventing further dental issues.

Dr. Hanna emphasizes a holistic approach, conserving as much of the original tooth as possible. This method is

particularly important when removing old, toxic amalgam fillings. Her practice is metal-free, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Beyond teeth, enhancing the surrounding facial features can complement a beautiful smile. Botox and lip fillers can eliminate fine lines around the lips and forehead, relieve TMJ muscle pain, and enhance lip fullness, contributing to an overall more attractive smile.

Even if you’re not ready for cosmetic dentistry, maintaining good dental hygiene is essential. Simple daily steps can make a big difference. Using professional whitening kits at home can gradually improve tooth color. Flossing and using a Waterpik every day helps remove plaque and debris from hard-to-reach areas. Regular dental visits, ideally twice a year, are crucial for early detection and prevention of dental problems. Brushing your teeth before bed, using fluoride toothpaste, staying hydrated, and maintaining a healthy diet with crunchy fruits and vegetables all contribute to better dental health. Limiting sugary and acidic foods can prevent tooth decay and enamel erosion. By following these tips, you can achieve and maintain a stunning smile that boosts your confidence and overall well-being. Dr. Hanna Mansoor and her team are dedicated to helping you create and maintain the smile of your dreams, ensuring that your dental health is a top priority. Visit her practice to explore how cosmetic dentistry can transform your smile and enhance your life.

Beat the Summer Blues: Coping with Seasonal Affective Disorder in Arizona

When it comes to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), most people think of it as a winter phenomenon - the cold, dark days, and lack of sunlight all contribute to the dreaded winter blues. But what about Arizona, where the sun shines bright and hot for most of the year? You might be thinking, “SAD in Arizona? No way!” But surprisingly, SAD can strike just as hard in the desert state, albeit for different reasons.

In Arizona, SAD is often associated with the summer months, when the scorching heat and intense UV rays keep us indoors, craving shade and air-conditioned comfort. It’s not just the cold that’s missing from our lives - it’s the warmth and sunlight that we’re used to. And just like in the winter, SAD can lead to feelings of irritable mood swings, decreased energy levels, and a general sense of gloominess. Here are some tips for coping if you start feeling SAD during summer:

1. Exercise Indoors: Physical activity can significantly improve our mood. So, even if you’re stuck indoors, try some indoor exercises and feel the difference they can make. Yoga could be an excellent option for the summer months.

2. Increase Social Time: Try dedicating time indoors to others. Socializing can help reduce feelings of isolation.

3) Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is essential for our mental health, and it can be tempting to skimp on sleep with the longer daylight.

4) Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water! Staying hydrated is crucial for proper body function, especially in the dry heat.
