The children of Newman Village set up brightly decorated lemonade stands where they sold ice-cold lemonade and homemade treats to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. More than 50 volunteers participated. The event more than doubled the $20,000 raised in 2016.

FRISCO READYING BIDS FOR SIX SITES WITH ABILITY TO LAND AMAZON'S HQ2 Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney and other city officials are putting together a city bid for Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN), with six potential development sites along the Dallas North Tollway. The city is responding to a request-for-proposal issued by Seattle-based Amazon earlier this month for the e-commerce giant's second headquarters, which is expected to cost $5 billion to develop. At build-out, Amazon's second headquarters could total upwards of 8 million square feet and the online retailer could need upwards of 100 acres to accommodate the campus.

NEW TEXAS HEALTH FRISCO CAMPUS IS ON THE WAY This 20-acre medical campus located on The Dallas North Tollway and Cobb Hill is scheduled to open in fall of next year. It will feature a 120,000 square foot building that will house traditional 24/7 emergency service will

as well as a state-of-the-art concussion rehabilitation center. This medical campus will be a collaboration between Texas Health and UT Southwestern.

POTENTIAL FRISCO HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ON THE HORIZON A planned 2,800-acre development could be adding more residential options to the city of Frisco. This ranch is located in Northwest Frisco, west of the Dallas North Tollway, north of Eldorado Parkway and South of U.S. Highway 380, and could become a new development for our great city. amous for it's "Champagne Powder Snow" Steamboat Resort is an

internationally known winter ski resort destination. Located just a stone's throw east of Steamboat Springs, Colorado the resort is on Mount Werner just west of the Continental Divide and Rabbit Ears Pass. Steamboat/Hayden Airport (HDN) is nearby and accepts flights from 14 different cities, making it easy to get in and to get out from just about anywhere in the US. It was my senior year of high school in 1980 and my friend's big sister was a member of the The University of Northern Iowa's ski club. They had two openings for the spring break trip to Steamboat Springs and we grabbed them. My first trip to Colorado became the benchmark that I have compared all my future ski adventures to. It received a high mark not only because of the awesome skiing on the same mountain as local legend Billy Kidd, but the fact that we were snowed in on the last day and couldn't leave. Lucky for us a famous rock band's tour bus was stranded as well. Needless to say we rocked the night away in a small bar with the band members of "38 Special" singing at the top of our lungs "hang on loosely but don't lose control." Impossible to top, right? Fast forward to December 2016, yes, I hear you doing the math. I'm returning for the first time to Steamboat Resort with my spouse and two CONTINUED >

teenage children for a family holiday trip. I'm pumped and apprehensive. I've already hyped it up to and my reputation is on the line. Turns out there was no need to be concerned - Steamboat is still my top benchmark for skiing anywhere in the USA and Canada and my family wholeheartedly agrees! Steamboat Resort did not disappoint. When you are fortunate to be blessed with awesome weather comprised of blue skies during the day and magical snowfalls at night one cannot find a single complaint to be made. Picking up our lift tickets and ski rentals for four people was a breeze and we found ourselves on the slopes in no time. We were on the front end of the holiday season with short lift lines and

lots of excited and spirited Christmas cheer everywhere. In fact at the base of the mountain Santa personally told me that we were the first to see him along with his reindeer before his upcoming worldwide deliveries just a few days away. We did not get to see the famous Billy Kidd but we did snap a photo in front of his statue at the base. The evening holiday parade of torches down the mountain was inspiring and another permanent family memory. Our high benchmark for the resort carried over to our accommodations and again, we were not disappointed. Trailhead Lodge is a fully furnished suite lodge located in the heart of Wildhorse Meadows, Steamboat's only master-planned community. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, we compared it to coming home to a residential 18

f you’ve visited the AT&T Stadium, you have probably seen the added touches that Executive Vice President of The Dallas Cowboys,

Charlotte Jones Anderson has implemented. Her sense of style and sophistication has been branched off into Frisco, Texas. When you visit the Omni Frisco Hotel, you will see Charlotte’s newest business venture, The Charlotte Jones Collection Boutique. Inside, you will find a quality selection of men’s, women’s, children’s and home good items. Charlotte works with several different vendors and stylists to fill her boutique with unique items you won’t see anywhere else. I had the opportunity to speak with Charlotte about the boutique. KA: Can you tell me a little background on how the boutique came

Women’s Collection

to be, and why you chose the Omni Frisco Hotel to be its home? CJA: I wanted the boutique to offer visitors and Cowboy fans a different experience than they might receive at any other place. We have a wonderful partnership with The Omni, and knew they would host the valued customer service our brand expects. Many of their hotels around the country have unique curated items sold in relation to the area they are in. One example is their Nashville location – visitors can find items such as custom-made guitars, being that they are the country music capital of the world. With the Omni Frisco, visitors will see custom made pieces be it, Dallas Cowboys jewelry to barware you can find at AT&T Stadium. Each piece selected to go in the boutique brings the Dallas Cowboys personality along with. KA: What items in your boutique are your favorites? CJA: For starters, I would have to say some of the necessities. The

Children’s Bedazzled Ford Mustang

NFL has a women’s handbag policy when attending games. One of the biggest complaints we hear is the options for see through purses for women are few and far between and way too small. In my boutique, we offer some clear plastic purses for women to bring to the games that offer ample room to bring the items they need and still look very stylish. And I really enjoy the jewelry pieces in the boutique. Our Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for instance, wear special smoky quartz and cobalt pieces from out jewelry vendor Kendra Scott. These jewelry selections are found at the boutique. For the kids, shoppers can find unique toys such as our bedazzled Ford F150 and Mustang cars. KA: It really sounds like you’ve carefully selected quality items to include. If you were to offer one piece of fashion advice to men and women, what would it be? CJA: This may surprise some, but I don’t have just one suggestion

Men’s Collection

or piece of apparel in mind. I think fashion means uniquely expressing your own self and wearing what makes you feel the most confident. KA: Wonderful advice; I couldn’t agree more. Last question, In terms of business ventures, including your new boutique, what is one piece of advice you have learned from your Father, Jerry Jones, Sr.? CJA: I would say the ability to have high-tolerance for adapting to change. In business, you are never sure what challenge will be presented to you. You have to really be able to respond quickly and make the changes needed. Open-mindedness is what makes you successful. If you aren’t open to change and adaptation, be it in branding or other areas, you will miss opportunities. With the holidays around the corner, this is a boutique you don't want to miss. Frisco residents and visitors can complete their shopping for the whole family at Charlotte Jones Collection.
