One of the great paradoxes in life is the difference between what is real and what is imagined, because our reality is skewed by our experience and perception. This very complex combination is what inspires my artwork. As a modern-impressionist, I may not be concerned with painting the details of realism but I am turned on by the meaning behind the colors, brushstrokes, and representation of light. I find this allows the imagination to interpret my content. It is this action of viewing my art that makes it wonderful, not a study; I’ll sacrifice the finer details to real life. LOCAL’S CHOICE (CONTINUED) At 25N Coworking you can always expect a friendly face and a cup of hot coffee. The staff are carefully planning professional and social events for members and even for the community of Frisco.  “The world is opening up and everything is moving in a good direction. There’s a lot of traffic in this office and having the community back in the space is special” says Meagan. During the pandemic 25N had to plan and execute a lot of grab and go, or virtual type of events. Now they are actively working to undo the separation and make  the environment and experience more communal.  The space is located on the ground floor of Waterford Market Apartments and members of 25N get the use of the luxury apartment amenity center as well as their HIIT workout gym. The 25N team says they plan to continue to be the premiere solution in Frisco for meeting rooms and high hospitality. They add that they also plan to open a 25N in Waco this fall. SLOWING DOWN TO GO DEEPER “After doing photography for 15 years, my husband and I felt our families needed something even more meaningful. They needed to see the truth of who they are and what they have overcome reflected back to them on their walls. We changed our model to shoot less so we could go much deeper taking time to do signature Discovery Calls before the shoots. Our team asks guided questions to help unearth the beautiful stories of resilience in each family. It might be a dad wanting to capture the way he and his teenage son joke. It sounds simple, but that portrait becomes a visual anchor in their home representing the truth of their relationship,” Me Ra reveals. “FIORIA provides a luxury, personal experience creating reflections of what a family or woman needs to see each morning when they wake up.”

Women are treated to professional hair and makeup to pamper their spirit. Me Ra guides every woman and family through poses that flatter and accentuate their story. Brian, FIORIA’s Lighting & Design Expert, turns those beautiful portraits into breathtaking custom wall art. He’s designed artwork for Dallas Cowboy homes to single moms in an apartment. Every client leaves excited for their life-giving FIORIA experience to live on through their wall art. “It’s not enough to have beautiful portraits to share on social media. Many of us battle fear, doubt and anxiety every day. I know this well from my own past traumas. One of the most powerful ways to overcome these voices is to display the truth of who you are and be reminded of it everyday. We are not capturing fleeting moments. This is about seeing who you are despite how much the world feels like it’s burning down,” says Me Ra. “Many of us know what it’s like to find beauty

Brian took her to lunch and asked what words would her 19-year-old self use to describe the woman she’s become. “My Phoenix Collection is made up of my answers; one who rises again, a warrior, tree of life versus an empty nest, and a woman who is worthy of love. These are the truths I need to see as our family changes. They are visual anchors that keep me from feeling lost as a mom.”

PARTING THOUGHTS

Corners Of The Heart MARTY THE OFFICE CORGI

ON THE COVER OF OUR JUNE ISSUE WAS AN ADORABLE CORGI NAMED MARTY. Many Frisco Life readers wanted to know more about this friendly and compassionate pup.  Marty’s human is Allan Joseph Cribbins III, MD, a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon. Together Marty and Joe have changed many people’s lives for the better.  Marty is two years old. He struggles with controlling how much he eats and is some what hyperactive. During the 2020 pandemic he was beginning to get on his other canine siblings’ nerves. Dr. Cribbins thought it would be best to take him  to the office because no patients  were coming in person at that time. The Cribbins soon realized that Marty had found his home away from home.  As patients began coming back for in-person appointments, the staff observed Marty following the patients to their rooms. If one of the clients had anxiety and needed more compassion, Marty wouldn’t leave their side and knew them when they returned for another visit. Marty was soon given the title, “My Spirit Dog,” by his patient friends. Dr. Cribbins realized many of his patients viewed Marty as a therapy dog and soon Marty was actually having patients come in to spend time with him. Marty was recently invited to his first Bariatrics Society Event Retreat in San Diego. He also will be attending a slumber party while there.

BALANCED NUTRITION LEADS TO HEALTHY KIDS Feeding your child a variety of foods is the key to getting them many different types of nutrients. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables can help your child fight off illnesses. HEALTHY EATING AS CHILDREN EQUALS HEALTHY EATING AS ADULTS When little kids learn to eat fruits and vegetables at an early age, they are more likely to continue eating healthy foods as adults. COLORFUL FOOD PROVIDES ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS Each plant compound does something different in your body, which is why eating lots of different colors helps keep our bodies healthy.

Kids, especially kids who may be picky or selective, often like a little bit of novelty.

MAKE SNACKS AND MEALTIME FUN We all know that kids like to play and have fun, so why not make food fun? Whether you’re turning broccoli into a microphone at dinner, or playing tic-tac-toe with edible carrot sticks, kids get into it. DON’T GIVE UP Parents often assume that if a child doesn’t eat a food the first or second time it’s served, the child doesn’t like the food. Many children may need to see or taste a food 10 or 20 times before they are willing to eat it. FORCING HEALTHY FOODS ON KIDS OFTEN BACKFIRES Often, making a child eat food or eat a certain amount of food backfires. It may backfire in the short run by making a child more selective and less likely to eat the foods you want them to eat. CONTINUED >
