LIFESTYLE LETTER
March 2026 Publisher’s Letter Home. Just four letters, yet it holds so much meaning. It’s our sanctuary, our foundation, and the place where life unfolds. Home is where we begin and end each day—where routines are formed, memories are made, and our lives quietly take shape. While the specifics of what “home” looks like may differ for each of us, its importance is universal. Author Wendy Wunder captured it perfectly: “The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.” With that in mind, this month’s issue focuses on what makes home special—from the warmth of shared meals and thoughtfully designed spaces to the people who bring those spaces to life. For me, home has always been less about perfection and more about feeling grounded. It’s the comfort of familiar surroundings, the laughter that fills a room, and the sense of belonging that comes from being exactly where you’re meant to be. Whether it’s a house filled with family, a quiet retreat after a long day, or a place still taking shape, home is where we recharge, reconnect, and create our own sense of peace. This month, we had the privilege of connecting with local businesses and individuals who help shape our community. Their stories reflect the creativity, care, and craftsmanship that turn houses into homes and neighborhoods into places we’re proud to call our own. We hope that as you turn these pages, you’ll feel inspired to invest in the spaces and relationships that matter most. Many of our readers tell us they hold onto this magazine long after the month on its cover—keeping it as coffee-table inspiration or revisiting it as ideas take shape in their own homes. That’s a tradition we’re proud to be part of, and one we remain committed to honoring each month. Thank you for welcoming us into your homes. Here’s to making this March a celebration of comfort, connection, and the places that truly matter. Happy March!

What Every Seller Needs to Know

“She Is An Absolute Professional- Top To Bottom - But She Also Has The “It” Factor.”
2101 Fairfield Beach Road Fairfield, CT
"Jackie Davis is an absolute force of nature, period. Full stop. When we were looking to sell our home, we were anxious and nervous - mostly because we were on a tight timeline. Jackie was such a calming and reassuring presence. She had a palpable command of the state of the market and deep knowledge and understanding of the potential buyer base. She exuded a confidence that was infectious. Jackie saw the value of our home and priced it to perfection. Importantly - she never made it about business- everything was done with a personal touch, care and compassion. Let’s face it, selling and buying a home can be emotional. Jackie has a natural ability to treat all parties with respect & class and guide the deal to the finish line without drama. She is an absolute professional- top to bottom - but she also has the “it” factor. There is a reason she is the top realtor in the region. Smart, capable, resourceful, energetic with a real zest for her profession. Anyone who doesn’t seek out her expertise is missing out!”

and character, layering in new influences while preserving the essence of what we love about the house,” says Lea. Light moves freely through generous spaces, resting on warm woods, natural stone, and softly veined marbles, where materiality speaks quietly and every detail is considered. As the home evolved to support daily life, additions including a secondary chef’s kitchen, mudroom, and first-floor primary suite were seamlessly integrated. Each serves a practical purpose while
remaining timeless through craftsmanship and thoughtful material selection, where function and feeling exist in quiet harmony. LOLLI SUTTON Sisters Lori Potutschnig and Nicole Lacey opened their shop in 2024. With its layered, collected vibe, customers love to linger amid the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Approachable yet undeniably luxe, the shop leans into a southern-inspired sensibility with its mix of new and one-of-a-kind pieces, all of which add a bit of Charleston character to a space.
FLM: WHAT EMERGING TRENDS FOR SPRING ARE YOU SEEING IN HOME ACCESSORIES THAT RESONATE WITH THE LOLLI SUTTON POINT OF VIEW?
LP: This spring feels richer and more expressive. We’re seeing a move toward warmer palettes, deeper color, and spaces that feel layered and well-loved rather than pared back. There’s a real appreciation for patina, vintage pieces with history, and mixing in new items that add contrast and balance. Homes are becoming more personal, less about perfection and more about telling a story through collected pieces. NL: Spring is leaning into a more maximal, soulful look with bold color, nature-inspired tones, classic patterns, and texture everywhere. Florals feel nostalgic but not precious, and vintage pieces are being celebrated rather than hidden. Sustainability plays a significant role here, too. People want items that
last, can be refreshed or reimagined, and feel meaningful rather than disposable.
FLM: CAN YOU SHARE THE ONE ITEM YOU THINK WOULD MAKE A GREAT GIFT FOR A SPRING OCCASION OR CELEBRATION?
LP: A vintage vessel, like a small bowl, pitcher, or compote, paired with fresh flowers or a simple spring arrangement, makes a beautiful, meaningful gift. It’s something that can be used every day but still feels special and lasting. NL: I love gifting something that elevates the everyday, like Sabre flatware or serving pieces. They’re practical but special, and they layer beautifully into both casual and collected homes. Lolli Sutton 1875 Post Rd lollisutton.com CONTINUED >

&FOUND What started in 2008 as Nicole Kofoed’s Etsy side hustle, born from her love of discovering unique antiques and vintage gems, has evolved into a stylish, must-visit destination for timeless finds. The shop is beautifully and thoughtfully curated, featuring an ever-changing, eclectic mix of distinct furnishings that blend heirloom pieces and old-world treasures with artisan-made offerings.
FLM: WHAT IS A NOTEWORTHY BEST SELLER?
NK: Danish Scandinavian Brutalist pieces from the 1970s are especially popular right now, and I’ve had some beautiful examples pass through the studio - most notably a stunning oak sideboard in the manner of Henning Kjaernulf that truly left an impression on me. I often work with designers and ship nationwide, so these pieces tend to find homes all over the country.
FLM: CAN YOU SHARE SOME TIPS WHEN BUYING VINTAGE? WHAT SHOULD CUSTOMERS LOOK FOR?
NK: Everyone has their own comfort level when it comes to incorporating vintage into their home. If it feels like uncharted territory, I always suggest starting small - cocktail glasses, ceramics, or artwork are great entry points. Once you live with these pieces and notice how they make you feel when you see or use them, it’s kind of hard not to fall in love. When you’re ready to step up to larger pieces, brass and glass are timeless choices that tend to age beautifully, think coffee tables or consoles. With wood furniture, quality really matters, so look for solid wood and good craftsmanship, like dovetailed drawers. Some of the most interesting homes are the ones that strike a thoughtful balance between old and new. And if you ever feel unsure or need a little guidance, there are people like me who are more than happy to help. &found 3002 Fairfield Ave andfoundfurnishing.com CONTINUED >

BLUEPOINT HOME Owner and interior designer Samantha Kilcoyne has created a shop that brings all the design elements she loves under one roof. Juxtaposing coastal ease with timeless style, the space offers the perfect touches for a refined yet understated home. From a piece of jewelry to a beautifully styled table setting or a handcrafted chair, every item is thoughtfully chosen with an eye for both style and soul.
FLM: WHAT IS THE SHOP KNOWN FOR?
SK: People come to Bluepoint Home for the way we layer home goods, art, jewelry, clothing and design inspiration all in one place. We’ve become known for our entertaining pieces — beautiful serveware, platters, and glassware — as well as our curated selection of candles, textiles, and accessories that help make a house feel like a home. Our jewelry and seasonal collections of bags and gifts are also customer favorites. Everything is chosen to feel timeless, thoughtful, and special, the kind of pieces you’ll reach for every day or give with meaning.
FLM: ASIDE FROM THE SHOP, YOU ALSO OFFER DESIGN SERVICES. CAN YOU SHARE WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS YOU FOCUS ON?
SK: Our interior design work ranges from full-scale home renovations or builds to furnishings, styling, and smaller transformations. We work with clients locally and also travel for larger jobs. Interiors are our focus, but together with my husband Scott through Kilcoyne Construction and Bluepoint Design, we can also handle exteriors. Everything from concept through completion — design, construction, and the finishing touches of beautiful interior design together as a team. We love projects where we can bring a client’s vision to life holistically — creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional and lasting. Whether it’s a complete home build or a single room reimagined, our goal is always to make it feel personal, intentional, and true to the people who live there. Spring Market Prep Wendy Ryan and Andrew Whiteley of Brown Harris Stevens Connecticut, LLC, in Southport
Tip 1: Start with a clean slate
As we head into the warmer months, real estate experts Wendy Ryan and Andrew Whiteley of Brown Harris Stevens Connecticut, LLC, in Southport share their top tips for preparing your home for the Spring Market. A little planning before you list can ease the often hectic process and help you feel confident when it’s time to welcome potential buyers.
1. Start with a clean slate
Spring buyers notice light and space. Declutter closets, shelves, and surfaces, so rooms feel larger and easier to live in. A deep clean matters more than most upgrades.
2. Handle the small fixes now
Loose door handles, sticky windows, chipped paint, and worn caulking quietly signal neglect. Taking care of these details early makes the house feel well maintained and move-in ready.
3. Refresh paint strategically
Fresh, neutral paint brightens a home, and photographs far better online. Focus on high-impact areas like entryways, living spaces, and primary bedrooms.

Tip 5: Prepare for photography and showings
4. Curb appeal counts more than ever
First impressions still drive emotion. Trim landscaping, edge walkways, clean windows, and power wash siding or stonework so the home looks crisp from the street.
5. Prepare for photography and showings
Spring inventory moves fast, and buyers decide online first. Thoughtful staging, good lighting, and professional photography help your home stand out immediately when it hits the market. MID-CENTURY WARMTH, REIMAGINED There’s a certain moment when a house stops feeling new and starts feeling like home. It isn’t marked by square footage or finishes alone. It is something quieter, more emotional. In this home, designer Kate Manz set out to do exactly that: give a newly built home a heartbeat and a soul. Rather than treating the house as one sweeping statement, she approached each room as its own story, layered with meaning, memory, and texture. The result is a home that feels collected, personal, and deeply lived-in. “Tackling each space and room as its own story and concept is how to make a new space feel personal,” Manz explains. “But bringing it all together cohesively is always the challenge.” Her solution? Warmth, intention, and a strong belief in the power of people. In new builds it can take years for a home to shed its newness. For this project, the goal was to fast-track that sense of belonging by layering in pieces with history and heart. Vintage market finds, local artists, and meaningful objects play a starring role throughout the home. “My love for design goes hand in hand with the people and stories that bring it to life,” she says. “I absolutely love seeing the evolution from concept to completion and all the elements and people that help bring those ideas to reality.” That philosophy becomes especially important in the home’s expansive open-concept living area, where scale could easily overpower intimacy. MATERIALS: Santa and Cole Tekió Light, Vintage Rainer Draumiller Chairs, American Leather custom couch in Bison Butterscotch, Flos Bellhop lamp, BZippy Vase, Plush Moroccan rug DESIGN TAKEAWAY: In large rooms, architectural details like niches, built-ins, or material changes can create visual rhythm while giving meaningful objects a true home.
THE OPEN CONCEPT, REIMAGINED
The main living space is defined by bringing the outside in with sweeping outdoor views and generous proportions. Rather than fighting that openness, embrace it. “The big open concept room really highlights the expansive outdoor views,” she says, “but making intimate spaces within that open room was really important.” A layered niche wall, created in collaboration with the interior architect Nick Flower, brings both structure and softness to the room. It introduces texture, depth, and a place for unique objects and family heirlooms to live, turning negative space into a personal gallery.

LOUNGE: A STUDY IN CALM AND DEPTH
Designed as a counterpoint to the openness of the main living area, the lounge is a cocoon, both peaceful, layered, and deeply versatile. It’s a place for reading, movie nights and slow mornings. Rich tones and varied textures do the heavy lifting here, creating depth without heaviness. Soft lighting and custom upholstery make the room feel both intentional and effortless.
MATERIALS: Virginia Sin pendant light, In Common With sconce, Arté Oblong wall covering in Ochre, Particular Tile in Vapor, Custom sage velvet sofa, Plush Vintage Moroccan rug DESIGN TAKEAWAY: When a room serves many purposes, let texture and tone create cohesion. A restrained palette with varied finishes keeps the space flexible and serene.
ENTRYWAY: A WARM WELCOME
The entryway sets the tone with a simple but powerful goal: Welcome to my home. Natural stone underfoot grounds the space, while a soft vintage rug and living greenery immediately soften the experience. Art with personal meaning invites guests to linger rather than rush through. CONTINUED >
MATERIALS: Luca split stone pavers, Vintage Turkish rug, Plants, Virginia Sin Wall hook DESIGN TAKEAWAY: An entryway doesn’t need to be loud to be memorable. Combine tactile materials with one or two meaningful elements to create an instant emotional connection. MAR CH 2 0 2 6 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . C OM / FA I R F I E L D

POWDER BATH: SMALL ROOM, BOLD SPIRIT
If there’s one place Manz encourages clients to take risks, it’s the powder room. Here, she leaned into terracotta earth tones, layering textures and tile sizes for visual interest and warmth. Patterned and solid tiles work together, while textured wall coverings and a sculptural stone sink elevate the space from functional to delightful.
MATERIALS: Particular Tile in Satin Terracotta and Vanilla Bean, Arté Wallcovering Shards in Brick Red, Red travertine sink, Rachel Donath chunky mirror, Playful art work by Olivia Fields DESIGN TAKEAWAY: Small spaces are ideal for experimentation. Mix patterns, finishes, and textures within a tight color family to create depth without overwhelm.
PRIMARY BATH PERSPECTIVE:
Restraint is key. A simple, elevated foundation allows for flexibility—style can evolve through art, accessories, and soft textures. At its core, this home is a reminder that design isn’t about perfection, but rather it’s about feeling. By treating each room as its own narrative while weaving in warmth, history, and human connection, a space was created that already feels loved.

Styling your Bookcase Tips for an Organized and Aesthetic Display ARTICLE BY SHANNON ROBERTS

A bookcase is often more than just a storage unit for books; it’s a focal point of a room that can enhance the overall decor and reflect personal style. Styling a bookcase can be a rewarding endeavor, allowing you to showcase your literary collection and curate a space that feels inviting and visually appealing. Here are some tips to help you achieve a beautifully styled bookcase. Styling a bookcase is a creative process that combines practicality with aesthetics. By using these tips, you can transform an ordinary bookshelf into a stylish, engaging focal point that complements your home’s decor while showcasing your personality and interests.
Step 1 Strategically Place Books on the Bookcase While Incorporating Decorative Elements. When placing books back on the shelves, think about the arrangement, vertical stacks are more traditional, horizontal stacks more modern, or both for more visual interest. Adding decorative elements such as picture frames, vases, or sculptural objects to break the monotony. Incorporating items with varying heights can create a dynamic arrangement. Use larger items like art pieces or baskets on lower shelves and smaller decorative objects higher up. Aim for a balanced look while avoiding perfect symmetry. This creates an organic flow, drawing the eye naturally across the shelf. Incorporate asymmetrical groupings for added interest, mixing textures, colors, and shapes.
Step 2 Use Color Wisely and Add Natural Elements. Color plays a role in styling a bookcase. You can opt for a monochromatic palette for a sophisticated look or introduce pops of color for a more energetic vibe. If your books are of various colors, pick a few colorful decorative pieces that complement or contrast them effectively. Integrating plants or natural elements can breathe life into your bookcase. Small potted plants can add color and texture.
Step 3 Create Zones and Add Personal Touches. If your bookcase has multiple shelves, consider creating zones or themes for different sections. Infuse your personality into the bookcase through memorabilia, travel souvenirs, or personal artwork. These pieces add a storytelling dimension and make the space uniquely yours.
