Over her twenty-five years of nursing experience in acute care situations, Melissa Blue noticed a pattern in her patients. “Everywhere I went, it was the same. Patients had high blood pressure, diabetes, congestive heart failure, and obesity,” she shares. “Dehydration is one of the major contributors to chronic diseases like these and I feel it is important to educate people and get them to think more about wellness and prevention.” At Blue Alchemy IV Hydration and Wellness, clients receive the benefits of IV infusions, vitamin injections, and a medical weight loss program. Quest Physical Therapy USING A HOLISTIC APPROACH FOR A PAIN-FREE LIFE

As an active student athlete, Dr. Jacques Beauchamp had access to physical therapists year-round. During high school, he spent time working with a physical therapist through a work study program. “As soon as I got into the clinic and saw what physical therapy is and what a physical therapist does, it perfectly matched my vision for what I thought I should be doing,” shares Jacques. In 2021, Jacques and his family moved to Evans and opened Quest Physical Therapy. “We chose to relocate to the Columbia County area due to the great school systems and because we thought it was best place for us to launch our new venture,” he says. “We enjoy being part of the community and active in our church.” Jacques is also excited to be a sponsor of the Drills B4 Thrills traveling Pickleball team, which is made up of players from here in the CSRA. Jacques strives for quality results with every patient. If a person is experiencing pain with movement, Quest Physical Therapy can help, even without a referral. “We have a great working relationship with local physicians, nurse practitioners, and other referrers who send us a lot of our patients, but we also have people who walk in off the street to be evaluated and seen, which is legal in the state of Georgia,” he says. First, Jacques provides a short, free consultation to determine if someone is a good candidate for physical therapy. After that comes a more detailed evaluation. “We conduct a thorough evaluation to help identify what is contributing to the patient’s complaints, whether that is orthopedic or neurological,” he explains. “Then we create an individualized treatment plan that addresses those impairments progressively over time. I say progressively because if you had a goal to run a 5k, you wouldn’t be able to jump up off the couch and run a 5k. The body has a natural progression to do that and the same thing is true with physical therapy. We make strides every day, bigger strides every week, and then after a period of time, we’re able to get the person to where they want to be.” Dr. Beauchamp holds two board certifications through the American Physical Therapy Association: as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and a Sports Clinical Specialist. Jamie Bailey of Restored Wholeness is a Board Certified Physician Assistant and Functional Health Practitioner with over twelve years of experience in the medical field. She originally went into medicine to make a difference and help people heal, but overtime she felt she was just managing symptoms for her patients. I love to connect the dots for people. Oftentimes, we don’t make the connection that what we are doing on a daily basis (sometimes even without thought) could be really impacting our health. It can be also common for someone to not feel their best but their standard labs look “normal” or their provider doesn’t have anything to offer them until they progress into a diagnosis. I would love to help people optimize their health before they get to that point. There are things we can all do today to improve upon that could pay us dividends in the decades to come. I love educating around this concept!

WHAT ARE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF AN UNHEALTHY GUT AND HORMONE IMBALANCE?

Bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal pain, fatigue, skin issues like eczema, rashes, acne, weight loss resistance, and difficulty sleeping, just to name a few.

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?

My goal in working with each client is to identify the root cause behind the symptoms they’re experiencing so we can address it and improve it. This is specific to each person. For example, a specific style of eating for one may exacerbate symptoms in another.

Gut health is connected to our overall health, it’s much more than just how our belly feels. Optimal gut health plays a very large role in many functions, from how we absorb nutrients in foods, to our inflammation, to our immune system and there’s a very important connection with our brain. This can be incredibly frustrating if you don’t have the insight into what’s going on under the surface. With our 6 month program, we include specialty labs to assess the gut, hormones, micronutrients and many other elements to see where we need to do the work first. After we get an insight from the labs, we will create a personalized protocol with recommendations and then work through it together. Weekly visits and unlimited support on your journey really create the magic here. You don’t have to wait until your next follow up months later to ask your questions.
