Think back to your ever evolving style choices. A few things that come to mind for me are Rocky Mountain Jeans paired with purple boots, which I wore literally every day. I traded those in for capri pants with black platform Steve Maddens. The final faux pas turned into the dreaded super low rise jean phase to which all the ladies yelled, "please never come back in style!"

Meet siblings, Beau & Paul Morrow of Left Hand Design. Older brother, & the Lefty himself, Beau is Owner & Chief Designer. Two kids growing up in North Austin, Beau & Paul's Mom always worked from home. She owned a t-shirt business & also a tech company. Beau would watch his Dad get ready each morning before embarking on a traffic filled commute to work. Their Mom though - she'd spend her morning sipping coffee comfortably in her slippers as she began the workday from her home office. Beau realized very early the life style he'd prefer when his time came. The end goal was always to start his own company. Beau would go on to graduate from TX State & work on the creative side of several ad agencies - from a 10-per son start-up to upwards of 500 employees. Main objec tive from these roles - learn the process. Ultimately, he took the leap & went full-time with his freelance career, never looking back. On his creative journey, Beau has designed brands for Fortune 500 companies, breweries, wineries, spirit brands, restaurants, bars, multifamily communities, clothing brands, health & spa, food & drink products, tech companies, & the list goes on. Beau's inspiration for his work & success derives from the passion con veyed from his clients & prospective clients...it always starts with their vision. Beau & wife Brooke came to Dripping Springs in 2018 & have two young boys. Inspired by Beau's passion & work - younger brother, Paul joined forces with Beau as Project Manager. Patti & Phil Rudick moved to Texas from Pennsylvania. They moved to Austin with no real job and two children. Not too long after their arrival - Phil got a job as an adjunct professor at UT teaching Architecture in the school of Engineering. Shortly after they had their first Texas born child - a baby girl. Stemming from Patti’s love of cooking - she went to Phil with a new business idea. They would buy a house, set up kitchen displays in each room and fill them with kitchen goods. Phil could design the kitchens and Patti could handle product sales. Ultimately, they decided to focus on kitchen design. They decided to carry high end cabinets and settled on Allmilmo from W. Germany and Rutt from Amish country in Pennsylvania. Currently, they use cabinet maker Crystal (crystalcabinets.com) as they can do almost anything from European to American styling. Phil and Patti opened their first boutique style showroom on January 2, 1980 and ran their first ad in the Austin American Statesman. They’ve had clients since day one. Two years after opening the showroom in Austin they opened one in San Antonio and remained there for 6 years before later opening one in Houston. Traveling to Houston twice a week and having

teenage children was not practical - so they decided to go all in on the Austin market and created a first class showroom.

The process has evolved a bit, but most major aspects are the same. A set style cannot be identified. Each of their clients are not the same and neither is Phil’s styling. It’s a simple concept that he’s adhered to his entire career.

Ever since Patti and Phil moved to Texas they have gravitated to Dripping Springs and Wimberley and moved to Dripping Springs in 1997. Patti always dreamed of living on a ranch where she could keep her horses. Where they live now allows them to view

beautiful Hill Country sunrises and incredible sunsets. They love having morning coffee on the back patio listening to birds and roosters crowing. Their horse Isabelle, has free run of the prop erty. They operate the business out of their ranch home because the setting is serene and perfect for creativity.

Once a client signs a design agreement - Phil does extensive and meticulous measurements in order to draw the as-built drawings followed by preliminary plans. As a Registered Architect - he pre fers to do drawings the old fashioned way - by hand. What he does free hand, most people cannot do with a computer. With Phil as the only designer, their clients get one on one attention from the Architect every time. Urban Kitchens brought modern design, technology and professional know-how to central Texas. Phil’s passion is centered on the client experience - so much so that most of his clients have ended up being lifelong friends.

I had the honor to sit down with sisters, Gertie and Ginger of Elevé Cosmetics as they used their award winning palette, Crop Top & Flip Flops, to create three transitional looks, from day to night. Sisters on a Natural Beauty Mission - The award winning beauty line was mindfully created by the sisters. Making a great team, Gertie is creative, artsy and driven, while Ginger balances her with practicality and structure.

She currently runs her business out of her home in Headwaters. In turn, the handcrafted garments are made in the homes of the artisans, creating an opportunity for them to be close to their children while they work.

After meeting the owner of Origin Mexico, Yazmin, months ago - I was immediately drawn to her stun ning, custom artisan clothing. After knowing her longer I also became in awe of her work ethic. In the clothing industry you sink or swim. Yazmin has found a way to swim, even through the choppy waters of “Growingthe pandemic. upinMexico, I observed how my family worked so diligently to create a better future for the next generation.”

Yazmin is hands-on in the design process, often making trips to Mexico. The hand embroidery tech nique takes approximately 24-26 hours for one dress to be completed, leaving the customer with a new found appreciation of their unique garment.
