When it comes to having fun together, we found three Cypress couples who know just how to go about it. This month we feature three husband-wife teams who work together in business and play hard in life. These three couples represent a unique cross-section of Cypress businesses and lifestyles. HELP CY-FAIR HELPING HANDS HELP OTHERS The Cy-Fair Helping Hands ministry is kicking off a Capital Campaign to raise $2.5 million to acquire land and build a 20,000 sq. ft. service center. The center will be located within the CFISD boundaries and aims to meet the needs of the growing number of homeless and families in need within our community. The God-led ministry is run by volunteers and has been serving the community since 2018 through it’s food pantry, community garden, scholarships for homeless CFISD students, emergency housing and more. The new center will allow the ministry to expand on existing programs and add many other much needed services, including shower and laundry facilities, clothes closet, cooling/warming center, employee readiness and job training, health, dental and mental health services, as well as worship and recovery meetings. children from previous marriages and wanted the best for them. They shared in their faith and love of motorcycles. Over the years, they’ve conquered the winding Hill Country roads near Wimberly and journeyed to biker rallies across Texas. The two use their hobbies and experiences as a way to support those around them. “You help everyone get to the level of success that they want to get to,” Randall says. “And your success will follow.” Every Christmas, they team up with other bikers and ride to raise money for the Boys and Girls Country children’s home. Individually they give back as well. Randall is a long-time officer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo helping exhibitors get animals and gear into the show. Debbie, a breast cancer survivor, has often spoken about her experience to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. The couple has forged deep relationships in Cypress, through business deals and their everyday outings. They are humble and easygoing and turn to each other to learn and grow. Their friendship keeps them grounded and their vision of selfless service moves them forward.

“We want everything to be smooth and calm. Whether you’re getting a check to put in your retirement account or making the largest investment of your life.” Brad and Konae each use their personal expertise to service clients. Brad, who maintains a private law practice, explains legal documents for buyers or sellers, while Konae, an experienced luxury realtor, helps clients sell their home or find one that suits their lifestyle. “Our clients have told us they get the biggest kick out of having an attorney for the price of a real estate agent,” Konae says, laughing. But the two share more than a zeal for real estate. They are vibrant conversationalists and like to say they are truly each others soulmates. Healthy living is a priority, and the two put their energy into sharing their love of fitness, standup paddleboarding and the health benefits of a plant-based diet. They’ve paddled their way around the country, from Key West to California, both for fun and elite training. Stand up paddleboarding is transformative and rejuvenating, they say. It’s an exercise that activates all muscle groups, burns calories, relieves stress and renews ones connection with nature. “Our goal is to be 90-something years old holding hands and walking on the beach,” Konae says. “In order to do that we need to be healthy.”

maintenance. The two met while working at an AC company in San Antonio. In 2009 they launched their own business, married in 2011 and in 2016 bought into the Aire Serv franchise. They pride themselves on being honest with customers and doing high-quality work. Over the years, the couple built their business and marriage around service. They’ve dominated barbecue cookoffs, with Kristin’s barbecue chicken beating out hundreds of teams. Then, in 2017 when Hurricane Harvey struck, the couple fired up the competition grill and cooked roughly 4,000 meals for first responders and volunteers. “I fixed peoples’ air conditioners for free all weekend and Kristin and the employees kept the pit hot,” Joe says. “Service is kind of our love language to the community and to each other.” While Aire Serv keeps them busy, the Seversons manage to go on yearly hunting trips in the remote wilderness. They just purchased property in Colorado with the ultimate goal of becoming wilderness guides. For them, life’s about experiences rather than owning things. “We didn’t have anything really handed to us,” Kristin says. “It makes us want to work hard and play hard.”

Ever since that first meeting, she has been writing every chance she gets. “That includes lunch breaks, in the car (singing into the phone), and scribbling down ideas in a doctor’s waiting room,” she laughed. Her dedication has paid off in more ways than one. In

Then, in 2020, Fisher was named among the Top 10 songwriters in Texas at the 2020 Texas Country Music Awards for a song she wrote called “You Shouldn’t Be Here.” “It was such an honor to be recognized among so many talented songwriters. The awards ceremony was so much fun, and the talent in Texas country is amazing,” she said. CONTINUED >
