rated Dat-B-Good food truck that serves up delicious barbecue and other
tasty bites around town. Perhaps you've seen them. Lewis, a Florida native from Palatka, and Cheryl, a Chicago transplant who graduated from Cocoa Beach High, have been married 29 years. After being encouraged by friends to sell his mouth-watering barbecue, Lewis decided to give it a try in 2012. With the support of their family, they started participating in Friday Fests at the Cape, local farmers' markets and other major events in the county. After owning the food truck for four years, they decided to put it into full operation, installing a warmer box, a 4-top burner stove with an oven, 2-by-2-foot flat-top griddle, a deep fryer, a 4-foot hood system, a hand-washing sink, a 3-compartment sink, a hot water tank, a fresh water holding tank, a gray water tank, a prep table, a refrigerator, air conditioning and a pull-behind smoker—in essence making the truck completely self-sufficient. Dat-B-Good's menu consists of their signature brisket; chicken; Boston butts; baby back ribs; spare ribs; and specialty items by request, which includes smoked fish or lamb. They also offer a variety of delicious side dishes.

Lewis has been perfecting his pit-master smoking techniques for years now and knows how to provide a quality product, how to get it out quick and still live up to the Dat-B-Good standard. "Our customers are extremely important to us, and we love nothing more than to make their mouths and stomachs happy," Cheryl says. Dat-B-Good can be found most Saturdays at the South Cocoa Beach Chevron at the split and some Thursdays in Rockledge at the Space Coast Community Pharmacy on Fiske Boulevard. They also provide catering for corporations, individuals, weddings and more. The best way to find them, however, is on Facebook at Facebook.com/DatBGood or by calling 321.750.7375. If you dig the convenience of roaming restaurants, there are a number of other local food trucks in the area as well, like the Lunchpad for comfort food based out of Satellite Beach, Intruck Coastal Bites for sandwiches and Peruvian food in Eau Gallie, and Jimmy's Gyros in Satellite Beach. That’s really the best way to describe 87 Main Street: comfortable with an easy, relaxed vibe. It’s a great setting for meeting up with groups of friends or meeting new people over drinks. Whether in a group, on a date, or solo, there is always someone to talk to at 87. Regardless of what you’re looking for—martinis, a quick nosh, or a full-on dining experience complete with raspberry brie puffs, lobster bisque, shrimp scampi, specialty coffee and dessert—it’s all there. Add to that a staff which is devoted to ensuring your experience is positive as well as memorable and you're likely to find a new favorite hangout. Rich, savory dishes like Burgundy Beef Tips give way to lighter fare that includes beef Wellington bites, spring green salads, seared tuna, paninis and snack foods. She felt that Cocoa Beach needed a more contemporary location for those who did not wish to cross the causeways or go to Orlando. This has been a huge draw for many locals who either walk or bike to the bar. Along the way, 87 Main Street has also built a reputation for venue events. Whether corporate get-togethers, weddings, or birthday parties, their detail-oriented approach guarantees that special tailor-made experience for everyone. J. Look no further than downtown Cocoa Beach, where Flavour Kitchen showcases a number of delectable Spanish-inspired foods from various regions of España, all under the direction of co-owner and chef Jason Bunin. Visitors can pair one of the bar's cool and refreshing sangria drinks with dishes like paella, a Valencian rice dish using mussels, clams, shrimp, chicken and Spanish chorizo served over real saffron-scented Valencia rice. Jason's Spanish grilled octopus with piquillo pepper salsa on a bed of grilled asparagus. The sweet chili peppers are traditionally grown in northern Spain and known for their lack of heat, making them the perfect compliment to the cephalopod. Both the drink and food menus are innovative and fresh. The casual environment is a hip mix of modern and industrial where metals, lighting and wood all play off one another, yet it still encompasses a vintage feel by showcasing brick, exposed ceilings and ductwork for a relaxed, comfortable vibe. Patrons will also find beautiful gifts such as jewelry, furniture, quirky wood pieces, animal sculptures and much more. While many are Balinese—like small prayer baskets meant for offerings and carved boxes for trinkets—you'll find lights from Turkey, animal depictions from Zimbabwe, paper pearls from Uganda and crafts from Tanzania, among others. Outstanding features on premises to look for include a set of hand-painted Moroccan doors, the large outdoor pagoda and a tiki bar.

SAGE BISTRO While you can get a number of delicious meals at Sage—all of them fresh from scratch—this casual fine-dining restaurant can also quench your hunger for a Bavarian bite or two. Yes, German food is on the menu, and if you didn't know it, you need to acquaint yourself with the nearby Cape Canaveral restaurant. The owners have firsthand experience with German cuisine, having lived in Stuttgart for three years. It's co-run by executive chef Jordan Malmstrom and his mom, Sara. Chef Jordan is known for the creative twists he puts on his dishes, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary—that, and healthy scratch cooking. But for a taste of Germany, try their savory, homemade Wiener schnitzel or schweinehaxe, both of which are accompanied with traditional spätzle or braised red cabbage. If you're not familiar with schweinehaxe, it's a delicious slow-braised pork shank, and Jordan serves his version up with a wonderful garlic caraway demi-glace. The interior, done in sage-green earth tones and rich dark woods, conveys a cool, comfortable feel, but it's the art deco-inspired mural of a sprawling tree conveying the impression of a graceful woman covering the expanse of the west wall that really grabs the eye at this particular establishment. These are just a sampling of the many great choices residents have for a taste of the world locally. If you haven't tried them, there's no time like the present to dig into the delightful foreign flavors the universe has to offer in your own backyard. 28
