Accomplished realtor Susie O. Johnson was selected to become one of five founding Compass real estate agents for St. Louis in June 2021. Now, she, along with her daughter and partner Lindsey Jacobs, are leading their Susie O. Susie began her real estate career in 1997. She's a certified marketing specialist, reloca tion specialist and certified previews specialist (luxury home market). She served on the Youth In Need board of directors for 30-plus years and volunteers for many organizations. She's spoken nationally at top agent conferences, including Chicago, Las Vegas, Cincinnati and Naples, as well as local conventions.
"Some clients had to move from out of state without being able to see prospective homes in person. We became their true eyes and ears. I looked at homes like I was buying them, and we got down to the nitty-gritty of pointing out everything we saw during live walk-throughs," she recalls.
Susie says Compass' streamlined business model and national network among agents are two more bonuses of working with their team. Susie and Lindsey, certified relocation specialists who reside in Chesterfield, say on average the Susie O. Johnson 10-member team sells a house every two days. Lindsey says this team has the longevity advantage of most of them working together for 15 to 18 years. "Our team has collectively handled $200-plus mil lion in housing sales over the past four years alone," Lindsey adds.
During the height of the COVID-19 pan demic, Susie says she was reminded of how important it is to inspect every nook and cranny of properties.

Interest rates are still good, she adds. "We believe we'll continue seeing ups and downs in the market. But as the economy gets better, homeowners will have money from equity, and we're ready to help guide them through how to capitalize on their personal financial situations."

As a photographer, Danijela says she's often met with shy resistance by older female clients about having their individual portraits taken, in addition to the ones taken with their pet, their family, or their significant other. She says insecurities often surface, followed by comments about aging and the feeling of "not being enough" anymore. "These are worries most women share," she reveals. "I heard them all and prom ised every woman I photographed that their session with me would be a safe space to celebrate them and their individuality with stunning portraits they will love and want to share with the world."
Danijela anticipates completing this project this October. She reports she's filled all 40 openings and has a waiting list. Every woman participating in the project receives a copy of a printed magazine fea turing the 40 women, their images, and sharing their views on being 40-plus. She's learned to explain the project in this overall way: "Picture this. You're looking at the portrait of the woman displayed on your wall, and you're com pletely mesmerized by her confidence and her beauty. There's something so powerful and so free about her. She's your inspiration on so many days you don’t feel so good about yourself, and she reminds you to cele brate yourself on the days that you rock the world. Now imagine this woman you admire so much on the wall portrait is YOU."
She emphasizes the manner in which most women featured in commercials or other media are executed, delivers an unrealistic, unrelatable concept of beauty for many women of any age. "However, it hits even harder the 40-plus demographics, as they're featured much less in general. Yes, you see them as moms, grandmothers or business owners, but rarely only to celebrate their beauty," she adds.

Erin says she did intensive research before designing what she considers the perfect space for her patients. "From the relaxing aroma that softly surrounds you to the trendy lounge music, an array of refreshments, swanky whitening stu dio, exclusive private suites, branded patient safety sunnies and lavender-infused hot towels to refresh after procedures, the atmosphere is one of tranquility, peace and beauty,” she adds.

By bringing artistry and style to smile trans formations, she's changing the way smile care is done. Erin says she believes, “Smile care should be approached like self-care,” which will give her patients the most luxurious, comfortable and enjoyable experience available.
“The space itself feels like a work of art,” she says. “From the second you step foot in the studio, you are immersed in another world – a complete smile sanctuary.”
“Your Smile. Our Masterpiece.” It’s a slogan Erin created to simply and eloquently describe her unique approach to smile transformations. She says she discovered her love of painting as an undergraduate. Now, she says, her “patients’ smiles are her canvas – each intentionally crafted with exquisite attention to detail, com pletely unique works of art.”
Dr. Erin Fraundorf hopes to revolutionize the orthodontic and teeth whitening scene in St. Louis with her new aesthetically-driven studio, BOCA.
Erin says her background in art inspired the interior design of BOCA, as well as the studio's aesthetic-forward approach to orthodontics.
“We understand oral care is intimate and that it may be challenging to share your smile, so we strive to create a relaxing environment to ensure our patients are at ease every step of the way.”
Erin says her obsession with patient comfort and quality extends to how she takes models of her patient's smiles. What is often done with puddy-like, gooey material, Erin does digitally with a top-ofthe-line digital scanner and 3D prints the models in her in-studio lab.

Erin outfitted her studio with “private suites designed within beautiful curved walls," complete with massage chairs, dimmable lights, and two televisions – one on the wall for patient education and one on the ceiling for Netflix streaming. “You may never want to leave,” she says. She also designed light-wood, built-in benches along the walls of the suites to wel come family and friends. Growing up with both parents as educators, Erin says she prioritizes patient education and one-onone interaction. Besides loving develop ing a relationship with every patient, Erin says she feels that quality doctor time is imperative for quality smiles. “I truly want to get to know my patients.”
The studio also prioritizes technology and sustainability. Completely paperless (other than its beautiful 100% post-con sumer recycled business cards embedded with wildflower seeds), BOCA even has individual cloth towels in the restrooms instead of paper towels.

Erin chose to name her studio, BOCA — the Spanish word for “mouth” — because she says she believes patients are more than just a set of teeth.
Many orthodontic offices are named after the orthodontists who own them, but Erin said “Fraundorf Orthodontics” just “wasn’t her vibe.” She says her studio, mantra and way of practice are meant to focus on the patient, their smiles and their journey; and from the second they step foot in her studio, it’s about them, not her.
Erin offers an adult oasis at BOCA – a completely separate area for adults to lounge in with comfortable seating, a water feature for some extra Zen and a high-top counter with outlets for conve nient phone charging or laptop work.
Erin’s approach to treatment encompasses the entire person. When designing and executing her cus tomized treatment plans, she takes every thing into account: the individual’s smile, smile goals, history and lifestyle, among countless other factors. She says her “intention is to nurture both the smiles and souls of her patients.”
