“I can't even begin to tell you the variety of goods we have here - from clothing and jewelry to housewares and artwork,” says long-time manager, Maggie Moffitt. “There's something forTheeverybody.”storehas many repeat customers. “It's just a really happy place,” she says. “People come in and make friends here. They interact with one another, with our volunteers and our staff.

“It's always about the patient experience and the patient outcome,” says Maggie. “And I really think Morristown Medical Center excels in that. I'm very proud to support its work.”
“The net proceeds from The Bargain Box go through the Women's Association directly to the hospital for whatever projects or programs they're looking to fund,” says Kathy Christie, president of WAMMC. The proceeds from the hospi tal’s gift shops, which they also run, and a percentage of pro ceeds from the onsite Starbucks and the Apple Day Café, all go through the Association to the hospital as well. “They give us a list of wants and needs and we try to provide as much as we can,” she says. “We also have an art exhibit in the main hallway that not only makes the place look better, but also allows artists to show their work. We then get 20% of the sales of that artwork.” The association gives out nursing schol arships too, which also directly benefits patients.
Some customers come in seeking vintage and antique pieces, hard-to-find items or designer brands. At times, mer chandise from Tori Burch and Kate Spade, and even Versace, Chanel and Gucci can be found. “We’ve had Christian Louboutin and Prada shoes,” says Maggie. “The quality of what we offer is really quite good.”
When you drive past The Bargain Box on Mount Kemble Avenue in Morristown, you’ll sometimes notice a line of people waiting to get into the charming and welcoming store. There’s a good reason for that and why the thrift shop is described as a boutique with a “Touch of Class.”
Some of the items are brand new and still have tags on them. Since the store is so busy and the inventory changes so quickly, if something isn’t there one day, it may be there the next, so they often tell people to come back soon. Shopping at The Bargain Box benefits the buyer, of course, but it goes much deeper than that. The store operates as part of the Women's Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC), a volunteer service organization founded in 1893 that raises money to provide many of the extras and/or neces sities that make visiting or staying at the non-profit hospital much more pleasant and comfortable.

When it first debuted in New York, she says it was very well received. “Almost every source said that it was one of the best collections we've ever had, and one of the strongest. As the seasons go by, designs get even more elevated and a little bit different.”
Sareh incorporated those changes and added a few novelty pieces with more texture and patterns instead of just solids as well. “I thought it would be a nice option,” she says. “We also went with different colors like deep greens and a beautiful light blue.”

As always, every dress is made in the U.S.A. “That’s critical for me,” she says. “Working with an international brand that is local, that has control over their production, is really important.”
“When we launched the first collection of eve ning gowns, we had just started selling from our flagship store in Short Hills, so it was a trial to see what women were looking for,” she says. “We ended up doing really well with what we had, but we heard the desire for sleeves and more coverage for the arms. And instead of ball gowns and trumpets, they wanted softer A-lines and/or more columns.”
Of course, they all still have the outstanding seam work and construction of all her gowns. To complete the entire look, matching accessories including veils, boleros, and capes are also available.

“We opened our first store in 2015 in Soho [NYC], and in 2019, UNTUCKit was the fastest growing men's apparel brand out there,” says Chris.
When Chris Riccobono had trouble finding a shorter shirt that looked good untucked, he created one. He then brought in his friend and now business partner, Aaron Sanandres, to help him launch UNTUCKit in 2011. Today, they have 90 stores, including a couple in Canada and one in London.
His goal was not to go up against athleisure, which was doing amazingly well. “I love their products. They look great and they last, but they're not meant to work out in; they're meant to look good in. So, I decided to create the next great true athletic power brand.”
He teamed up with Wayne Gretzky, Derek Jeter, and Missy Copeland and founded Greatness Wins, a premium performance apparel brand. “I already had a great rela tionship with Wayne Gretzky as a brand ambassador for UNTUCKit. When I brought in Derek, he wanted a woman athlete on our team, and he wanted Misty Copeland, who has an amazing story herself. She was the first principal black ballet dancer [with the American Ballet Theatre].”

I also need to be working around the clock, especially since I have four kids under 4 1/2.” He and his wife, Amy, and kids, Charles, James, Evelyn and Luke, live in Madison.

He does take some downtime here and there. “I'm a huge wine collector. Wine and travel are my favorite things.”
Chris, who grew up in Franklin Lakes, says being an entrepreneur is in his blood. “After UNTUCKit, I was thinking where in fashion was there another problem I could solve, and started by ordering some athletic gear. The quality was terrible - they didn't wash well and from a size perspective, they were all over the map.”
Launched in July, Greatness Wins is already getting rave reviews. As with UNTUCKit, Chris says it’s all about qual ity. Michelle originally planning to go into law school, but that changed when she sold her first house. “I felt euphoric and I knew that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” she says. “I enjoy the process of helping people, of marketing their homes, and being able to get their homes sold for more money than they thought they would ever get.” Her marketing style is one her clients appreciate.
“I make sure I highlight each home’s personality, because every home has one,” says Michelle. “I like to do a marketing campaign around the style of the home. When people hire me, they know I’m not a cookie cutter agent because these are not cookie cut ter homes. I’m not going to do the same thing for each listing, because every house is unique.” Her business style is very similar to her personal style. “I’m very relationship driven, which is why the majority of our business comes from repeat happy cli ents,” she says. “One of the reasons I love selling luxury homes is because of the passion I have for their supe rior design aspects as well as for their extraordinary architecture. I can see the hard work and quality that went into these homes. One thing I love about my job is being surrounded by beautiful things all the time.”
Being successful in business takes hard work and per severance. Achieving that success as a young woman in a mostly male-dominated industry requires a whole other level of commitment and a savvy business style.

When you walk into Creative Works NJ in Livingston, you’ll find a little bit of everything. There are antiques from France, clothing made in Italy, jewelry made in Turkey, and contemporary pieces from the United States. But, there is so much more to it than what you see. “We offer full-service decorating, so everything from win dow treatments to floor finishing to kitchen remodels,” says owner, Danielle Placenti. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, she was originally on the marketing side of the industry, but around 25 years ago decided to do something different. “My best friend, who was also my business partner until she retired six years ago, had the idea to try something new,” she says. “We started doing floral design and painting things just for fun and were doing little home shows.” When her uncle had a store available in Summit, they decided to make Creative Works NJ official. “It really took off from there with people wanting us to come to their houses,” says Danielle. “We were offering a niche where we would design things for people's homes and then place them in different spots. it’s now located. Most of her clients have been with her for years, and much of her new business comes from word of mouth. “I have very few clients who after I complete a job, I never see again,” she says.
