“I grew up singing country music,” she says. “My dad had a band as a hobby. I grew up on a farm in Kansas. He was a farmer but also a musician and had a local country band that played local dances and things like that—weddings and clubs. I started singing at about 7 years old in the band, and just always knew that that’s what I wanted to Fast-forwarddo.” to today and McBride is not only a singer-songwriter and record producer, but she has been nominated for 14 GRAMMYs, sold more than 23 million albums, had five singles that reached num ber 1 on the country chart, and one that reached number 1 on the adult contempo rary chart. She’s won the Country Music Association’s “Female Vocalist of the Year” award four times and the Academy of Country Music’s “Top Female Vocalist” award three
“We’re just really excited to be on the road again. We were off with 18 months with no live shows, and now we’re just getting out there and trying to reconnect with everyone and bring them a little bit of joy.”
“I shot my very first video in Arizona— The Time Has Come—about 30 years ago, and it’s always been a great place for country music fans. A lot of country music fans are there and so we always get such a great reception when we come out there,” McBride says.
Martina McBride was just 4 or 5 years old when she began belting out songs at church and Christmas programs.
When asked about favorites, she says that “I still love singing ‘Independence Day’ and ‘A Broken Wing’ [and] I always love singing ‘This One’s for the Girls.’ It always seems like it lifts up the show and people really enjoy that one.”
In addition to focusing on her singing career, McBride also makes time to give back. She works with a variety of charities and has served as a spokeswoman for several of them, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, and for Tulsa
By 7, she was wowing audiences on the stage and already knew that she wanted to be a professional singer.

HER CAREER TAKES OFF
A couple of years after meeting, the duo decided to move to Nashville to pursue her dream as a singer, with John moving his sound company, as well.
“I just started doing the work—whatever it took to make it happen. I started touring, continued to make records, and little by little you get people’s attention and you have songs that matter to somebody and get noticed, and the next thing you know, it’s 30 years later and you’re excited about doing a show in Chandler, Arizona!” she says.
A HISTORY WITH ARIZONA
“He had a sound company—he’s a sound engineer—in Wichita, Kansas,” she explains.
Chandler may be a long way from Nashville or Kansas, but it’s not McBride’s first time in the state. In fact, she’s visited many times—and 30 years ago, actually filmed her very first video in the area.
By 1991, McBride had a record deal with RCA Records. In 1992, she put out her first record.
GIVING BACK
“Sometimestimes.you’re lucky enough or blessed enough to be born with an innate sense of what it is you’re supposed to do here on this Earth. That was pretty obvi ous to me from a young age that I was given that gift,” she says.
She would later meet her now-husband, John, in Kansas.
It was early 1990.
She says she enjoys touring, and as for her songs, she “loves all the work I’ve done, and I feel proud of it.”

“I love to cook, and I love to share food. I think it’s similar to music in a lot of ways in that it’s about bringing people together,” she says. “And it’s creative in a different way than music.”

One of her favorite recipes she shares is her mom’s pot roast.
“It’s a charity initiative I started quite a few years ago now,” she explains. “It started out as a fanbased volunteer organization—which it still is, in a lot of ways—and we try to see whatever the need is out there and support that. Sometimes it’s in the towns that we play. We’ve done everything from building an innercity park, to starting a music school in Guatemala, to providing diapers and formula for a shelter in New York City, to food banks—just a lot of things that have helped people in need.

“I grew up in a small town and everyone kind of looked out for each other and it just feels like the right thing to do. I think it’s just part of giving back and making the world a better place than when you found it,” she explains of her drive to give back.

Over the years, Molina has never lost her passion for jewelry. She has worked in the jewelry industry for many years and is the co-owner of Christopher & Myranda Fine Diamonds in Chandler.
Ever since she was a little girl, Myranda North Molina has been obsessed with jewelry.
“I used to play dress-up and pretend I was a jewelry designer and salesgirl when I was 5 years old,” Molina says.

When Molina and her family moved into a house with basic finishes in Fulton Ranch, she was inspired to use her love of jewelry to help transform the home into a beautiful abode.

“When I started the project, I wanted people to know that my favorite color is ‘sparkle’ and that my theme is ‘penthouse glam/jewelry box,’” she says.
“I wanted my home to tell a story about me, my life, who I am, and my journey. I wanted to shine, glitter, glam, and with a unique feel of comfort and elegance,” Molina says, adding that it took about two years to finish the project, which involved every room in the home, along with rearranging walls and add ing custom entryways.
Molina loves sharing her unique home with others and host ing numerous gatherings a year, including festive parties for her son and daughter.
Working with several designers, artists, and companies, Molina has succeeded in transforming her family home into a gorgeous walk-in jewelry box.

“They say my colorful home is a cheerful place because of the art, wallpaper prints, and that crystal makes them feel so excited and cheerful.”
“There are bright colors in each room, but it is also timeless because of the black and white tones. There are also different colors of metals throughout the home like one chandelier is yellow gold, another one is rose gold, and another one is silver because I love all of the beautiful tones of precious metals and designing jewelry, so I wanted to incorporate that in my home.”

She says people sometimes ask her how she can have so many sparkling and beautiful items in a home she shares with kids. As she has seen firsthand, her children have readily adapted to their sparkling surroundings.

One of three boats to traverse Canal du Midi, Enchanté is an “ultra-deluxe” converted barge with four cabins for up to eight passengers. Each suite on Enchanté features an ensuite bath room. All suites are on the lower level, while the salon, dining room, open kitchen, and sun deck are above. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the staff accommodating, and the pace of the barge allows you to slow down and unwind. Throughout the cruise, there are small stops along the way. This area of France is filled with gourmet delights and history, and you have a chance to explore both during your cruise.
The barging experience is not anything like other cruises. With only eight passengers (although some boats have the capacity for 10 to 20 passengers), it provides a quiet escape.

During the barge cruise, you’ll have a chance to visit three of what may be the most beau tiful towns in France: Minerve, Lagrasse, and Carcassonne. Lagrasse is an artisan town sur rounding an 8th-century Benedictine Abbey. Minerve is home to a 12th-century Cathar fort with spectacular views. Carcassonne is a medieval fortified city with 52 watchtowers and portcullis.
Each day, you cruise slowly along the canal, going a total distance of about 50 miles over one week. The day’s leisurely routine begins with a sit-down breakfast and specially prepared dishes from the chef. You either cruise in the morning and take a short excursion in the after noon, or vice versa.
There is also an excursion to Narbonne, once a Roman capital. There, you’ll have a chance to wan der through Les Halles de Narbonne—the indoor food market—with the chef, picking out items for him to prepare once back onboard Enchanté.
European Waterways offers the ideal escape to Southern France and other destinations across Europe.
Lunch is a gourmet three-course meal paired with local wines. Dinner is a beautiful production with appetizers, main course, cheese course, and dessert. Again, everything is paired with both a white and red wine.
