The Premiere Issue

Hello, and welcome to the Premiere Issue of Centennial City Lifestyle! I am thrilled to bring this publication to our community, sharing the unique stories of the people, places, and businesses that define our vibrant city!

As a third-generation native of Colorado, I feel blessed to have this community as part of my life and my children’s lives.

Growing up in Aurora, I remember when Centennial first became a city. I made it clear I wasn’t Aurora and I wasn’t Parker - I was Centennial.

Through my involvement in my neighborhood's social committee, book club, and coach mom, I discovered the power of community. The more you immerse yourself in it, the more you appreciate the strength and pride in each individual. Centennial’s community has always been resilient and united. I want to highlight our growing community and bring you behind-the-scenes stories to show what makes Centennial one of the best places to live in Colorado.

From the exquisite dishes at local eateries to stunning homes, from innovative startups to established businesses and creative talents in fashion and design, we aim to spotlight the essence of Centennial and what matters to you, our readers. The power of our businesses and partners is evident in the way they shape our community’s character and vitality.

Centennial is full of fun and trendy places. However, staying informed about everything happening can be challenging. My goal is to keep you updated on all that is happening. Our first theme is "Explore." As a mom of three, two boys ages 8 and 10 and a 17-year-old young lady, I am constantly looking for activities to keep them busy and places where I can retreat and enjoy some me-time.

We are fortunate to have partnered with some of the most respected businesses. Please check out and support our local advertisers and partners. Their involvement is crucial to our community and enables us to bring this magazine to you each month.

If you spot me around town, please say hello! I’d love to hear your thoughts and what you want to see in Centennial City Lifestyle.

See you around!

South Metro Interior Designer, Tiffany Croswell, Explores the Possibilities

Creating Designs that Capture Client Personality

When There’s

No

ARTICLE BY ELIZABETH WATSON
PHOTOGRAPHY BY NOAH BERG

With an emphasis on individuality and exploring unique and custom designs, Tiffany Croswell, owner of DTC Studio Interiors, has been providing services for a wide variety of clients throughout the South Metro area.

In partnership with her husband Derek, the firm provides design as well as construction services.

Tiffany says, “DTC Studio Interiors understands that a well-designed interior is not just about aesthetics; it is about creating a space that elevates your well-being, enhances your daily experiences, and sparks joy in your life.”

She continues, “I really enjoy exploring the possibilities of creating designs that truly reflect the personalities and interests of the homeowners.”

As an example, she mentions a recently completed project in Centennial, Colorado. “For an interior design of a home in Centennial, we created a gallery wall that showcases the homeowner’s beautiful and extensive art collection. As an additional special touch, with the help of the homeowner, we arranged some of the pieces in chronological order by the time of their purchase. The order of the pictures actually tells a story showcasing the pictures.”

For the project featured here, Tiffany collaborated with the homeowner to develop a design with a Japandi influence. This approach complements the homeowner’s love of nature and allows his existing art and collection of antique vases to be appropriately displayed.

“DTC

created a space that is open and welcoming and at the same time has a grounded, earthy, natural feel.

According to the homeowner, “As a designer, she really came in and listened to what I wanted as a client. She pulls what’s important out of you and then does a beautiful job of incorporating that into the design. The rooms exactly fit my personality.”

As a design-build firm, DTC Studio Interiors completed the project on time and within budget.

Japandi is a blending of Japanese and Scandinavian design styles. For this particular project, the homeowner’s love of nature and animals worked well with the traditional Japanese design style which emphasizes organic and natural materials, like wood, rattan and stone.

Japanese interiors also often make use of a neutral color palette with an emphasis on darker and earthy tones. Tying that with the Scandinavian approach of emphasizing clean lines and uncluttered spaces has

“They’re a great one-two punch,” says the homeowner.

Tiffany provides design services and Derek is the construction manager.

Tiffany sums up their dedication, “At DTC Design Studios, it’s a labor of love to create vibrant, functional, and inspiring environments that enrich lives. We are dedicated to delivering timeless designs that balance aesthetics, comfort, and functionality and reflect the unique personalities and interests of our clients.”

Backyard Whimsy

Creating a Kid-Friendly Backyard Space

This adorable outdoor play space is not only easy and inexpensive to build, but it is full of charm and the perfect spot for the kids to play and lounge. The A-frame structure is easily customizable to any style and color scheme desired. Leave the wood bare, or add flare with paint or stain. An outdoor clubhouse provides a space that allows kids

to make it their own and to let their imaginations run wild spending time outdoors.

For this project, we visited our local hardware store to get all the necessary  supplies we needed. The deck is an 8 x 10 decking so  there is no need to cut down the length of any boards and pressure treated wood was used. First, dig holes

CONTINUED >

18 inches down to put the  footers, which is a 4 x 4 x 8 treated  post, and cut those into two foot lengths. Next, pour quick set concrete in the holes. Add water, and set the posts in and let it dry. We used lag screws to attach the base 2 x  10’s to the corner posts, and then 2 x 6’s  for the joists with metal hangers. Now time to put on the decking boards with exterior screws. Don’t forget to constantly check with a level.  Once the decking is  finished, now it is time for the fun!

For the A frame you need a 60-degree angle at the top of the A, and a 30-degree  angle at the bottom. You can run a 4 x 4 along the decking to attach the A frame to which adds a bit of height so adults can stand in it as well. Use heavy duty exterior screws to attach the A frame 2 x 4’s to the structure. The top of the A comes together and is held by exterior screws. For the roofing, we used 8-foot corrugated clear panels and screwed those into the A frame for a weather protecting cover. We left  three feet uncovered so a chair and some pots with herbs and flowers could be added to the entrance. Decorate with outdoor pillows, a children’s table, outdoor rug  and hanging flower pots to make it feel like a special place for kids to go. If entertaining friends, a few simple charcuterie boards are always a hit.
