There is a new store in Celina highlighting home décor, jewelry and clothing, plants and botanicals called Terramania. If you break that name down, Terra is a word as old as Greek mythology and means from the earth. While mania can be defined as excessive enthusiasm, a desire or obsession. Therefore, Terramania can be described as one’s obses sion with all things from the Earth. Walking through this gorgeous new store full of natu ral elements you can see the owners Traci and Andrew Miller’s obsession where all things from the earth come to life.

TERRAMANIA
I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Traci and learn more about her journey to be a store owner in Celina. In 2020, they were intro duced to Celina by Andrew’s parents, who were home searching in the area. Andrew’s parents attended a Friday Night Market on the Square and suggested they bring their pop-up booth to the next event. They were blown away by the kindness of the locals and noticed the nostalgia of kids running barefoot around the square. It gave them the warm feeling of their childhood. Since then, Traci has worked to hone her style and craft by doing pop-up markets in Frisco, McKinney and Celina. She also hosted shows in her home allowing customers to shop through out her home. Andrew built her a portable set that looked like a real store. As they moved from event to event, they would stock and stage the “pop-up store” with all the textiles, botanicals, furniture, and home goods to make it seem like a brick-and-mortar store. The cycle of loading and unloading, while both were working full-time day jobs, was wearing them out. In June of 2021, Traci quit her full-time job and started the journey to open Terramania. Traci and Andrew are firmly rooted in their faith. When they started their search for loca tions for Terramania, Traci had three specific prayers. One, she did not want to be in a strip mall. Two, she wanted to be in a community where she could be connected and connect with others. And three, she wanted 3,000 square feet with character. When they landed on Cherry’s Antiquibles on the July 4th weekend of 2021, she knew God was answering her prayers. Wrapping up my conversation with Traci, I asked why Celina? “It was truly God leading us to Celina. Every sign, every confirmation I prayed for led us to Celina. A place where we can serve and be a part of a community. I wanted that small town charm and feel and Celina, TX has it like noneVisitother!” Terramania in Downtown Celina on the Square.

Olivia Clarke Homes prides itself on its unique designs. It is what makes the company distinctive, as every home is planned with a family focus. Their motto is “A Home Designed Around Your Needs,” with designs not fixated on square footage but practical use of space where “we use every inch of the home for maximum storage and functionality” accord ing to Johnson. Olivia Clarke Homes strives to create a home which functions at an optimal level. She adds, “At the end of the day it’s not about four walls, this is the place families will live and make memories, this is at the forefront of all we do.”
Oprah Winfrey said, “I don’t have any limita tions on what I think I could do or be.” This is true for Jennifer Johnson, founder of Olivia Clarke Homes. After twenty-five years’ expe rience in the home construction business, she unapologetically started her company, in an already very competitive industry, two years ago during Covid. Olivia Clarke Homes is named after Johnson’s two children. Johnson adores that the company name ended up having a feminine touch as it “helps set us apart. People remember our com pany because of the name,” Johnson notes. “And because 90 percent of today’s buyers are female, we like that connection as well,” she states.

The company’s future continues to thrive including many exciting projects with an elite group of builders, like the Fields development near the new PGA Headquarters in Frisco. Johnson is ecstatic to be included in that development and considers it a sign of success within the competitive home building industry. Every start-up has its challenges, but the industry has been extremely receptive and supportive of what the company is doing. Johnson is humbled to have her company continue to grow and flourish. Given her many achievements, Jennifer Johnson is proving there truly are no lim its to what she can do.

In fact, there are numerous Olivia Clarke Homes communities through out Celina, including the Residences at Cottage Hill (which is almost sold out) and Celina Hills on Punk Carter Parkway.
Although they are a production builder, Olivia Clarke Homes provides a boutique experience with each proj ect. Johnson believes every customer deserves to be treated like they are building a custom home.

The builder is also constructing over 80 distinctive paired homes in downtown Celina on Colorado and Ohio streets. Paired homes are in high demand all over the DFW Metroplex. These homes answer many affordable homes concerns for young families plus provide a good solution for empty nesters.
Olivia Clarke Homes designed the homes to look and feel more like a single-family home, again using the builder’s signature features.
Olivia Clarke Homes has designed a line of homes specifically to fit into the charm of Downtown Celina. For the upcoming Uptown Celina project, expect to see architecture like the craftsman look, Prairie, Farmhouse and South Carolina low country. “I have fallen in love with Celina, the city’s charm, and the people. The people of Celina are so welcoming and wonderful,” she says.
Olivia Clarke Homes is known for home designs which incorporate natural lighting, beautiful large kitchens with oversized islands and where the dining room is actually relo cated to the former nook.

Trisha’s own home was a challenge as she did not like an office visible right when you entered, but with zero privacy and four kids in the house, it was the only space available. After creative use of furniture, thoughtful orga nizing, and good lighting, it just worked. She says the room ironically is “where we gather the most, the best room.”

Trisha Puente With Humble Home Designs Your Perfect Workspace
40
Creates
When it comes to home or office design, trends often dictate style. The last two years in a pandemic era have dramatically changed home and office layouts. Trisha Puente of Humble Home Designs is an expert in creating functional spaces for both office and home needs. Trisha and her family have lived in Celina for twelve years and for the past eight she has owned Humble Home Designs. Her previous life included corporate accounting and owning a local clothing boutique. She realized she liked decorating the store most, so Trisha began helping friends with their home interior designs. She gained a reputation from decorating charity events and weddings plus designing friends’ houses. People sug gested she make interior design a career, where she dis covered her true passion. She started her own business by designing an entire house for her first customer whom she credits for helping her take that initial leap of faith.
Almost a decade later, Humble Home Designs is more than the name suggests. Trisha also decorates corporate offices and has partnered with Puente Construction on jobs “literally from beginning to end”. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Puente Construction is owned by Trisha’s husband, Daniel. Trisha says it is a blessing to work together with Daniel on joint ventures. Her projects include the offices for Sign Gypsies where the company hired Trisha to decorate their new headquarters. She enjoyed integrating a mid-century modern theme into the overall motif, especially the light ing. She created a space with industrial accents, modern art, and lamps that made the office feel warm and invit ing. According to Trisha, “the office stood out from all others, not sterile nor boring at all.”
In addition, Trisha recently remodeled a client’s din ing room into a home office. She repurposed the space by enclosing the room using a barn door, refurnished it, and installed better lighting. She was able to keep the nat ural light but create privacy as well. She says the remodel is “one of my favorites and very special.”
What’s next for Humble Home Designs? Trisha wants to make Humble Home Designs a household name, pun intended. She wants to expand her business in the real estate sector by renovating homes as well as continuing her interior designs for both corporate offices and res idential homes. As talented as Trisha is, this “humble” designer no doubt will conquer any design challenges that come her way.

A corporate/business office needs to include larger meeting spaces, comfortable but light mobile seating, and a good mix of artificial and natural light to give space function and warmth.
Lighting Lighting is important for working and sets the mood of the room. Every room should have a mix of natural, lamp, and bright overhead lighting. I highly recommend you have a ceiling light as a “showstopper” decorative piece.

Keep an office organized, the goal is to eliminate clutter and have a space for everything. If an item such as writing pens is out and seen, dress it up with a chic pen holder so that it looks structured. Invest in quality furniture but also repurpose pieces for storage. I used a kitchen buffet hutch as my bookshelf, and it works perfectly. Lastly, as a golden rule, hide those electronic cords! Celina Downtown Oktoberfest was started by the Greater Celina Chamber of Commerce 5 years ago as a way of bringing visitors to Downtown Celina. It has grown into an event that not only brings everyone Downtown but it is fun for the whole family. This year’s event will feature a tempting array of foods, German dancers, German music, as well as a slate of fun activities, contests, and of course a Biergarten. In keeping with the tradition of Celina’s Bobcat championship-winning football, there will be a large LED screen playing college football all day. Wear your dirndl or lederhosen in your favorite team’s color.
HOIST A STEIN AT THE 5TH ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST
As a not for profit, the Chamber of Commerce is always looking for ways to raise money, but also give back to the community at the same time. It is a long standing tradition with the Chamber to hold events where money would be raised and donated to other organizations in Celina. When they started Oktoberfest, the Chamber wanted to continue this tra dition. From set-up to take down, to the front gate and side gates, know that the volunteers are working hard and also rais ing money for their organization.
Another family favorite at Oktoberfest is the annual wiener dog races. Officially known as the Dachshund Derby, this event is organized by D&L Farm and Home Adorable Dachshunds will be racing to the finish line. The competition is fierce and the Wiener takes all!
The ceremonial tapping of the keg will start off the event at 11am. The entertainment will be non-stop until 10pm. It will include traditional music and dance and end with Brave Combo as they headline the event.

LOCAL LIMELIGHT | LIFE + CULTURE more than a building ARTICLE BY ANGELA ZARALLO | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED Lifeway Church Celina Prepares for a New Home 52
Thank you, Josh Price - Lead Pastor of Lifeway Church, for sharing your "More Than A Building" submission with us. If you have a story that you'd like for us to consider, please contact us at Barbara.Ireland@CityLifestyle.com
“More Than a Building” has been the battle cry of Lifeway Church Celina (LCC) and Lead Pastor, Josh Price, for over a year. But what does “More Than a Building” mean? Over 20 years ago, it started with a calling. A calling for a young lady to follow God and drive North until God told her to stop. She didn’t know why, but she obeyed. She got in her car and drove from south Dallas to what felt like the end of the earth. When she reached HWY 58 and 59, she finally felt she was stopped at 13 acres in the heart of Celina, Texas. God told her this was the place in which, through her, he would do his work.
LCC proudly partners with Grace Bridge and Helping Hands of Celina . This building will truly be more... More than the church that used to be next to the discount store. More than the people that gather. More than a building. Thanks is due to the pastoral leaders: Mike Rutig, Anthony Gonzales and Jordan Verhoek. The land and build ing committees are headed by Carrie Peacock and Craig Neidhart. The Land committee and special thanks go to: Lynette and Paxton Sandidge, Dan and Maranda Williams, Monique Goodwin, Angela Zarallo and most importantly to Shain Hunn, with knowledge of “all things Celina.”

Lifeway Church Celina needed to move because of the rapid growth and now that the land is promised and the call ing fulfilled, the Church can become, “More Than a Building.”
Over the past 20 years there have been many people who offered to purchase this piece of land and each time God told her not yet…until finally, Lifeway Church Celina asked. What is Lifeway Church Celina and why is this land, future home and building so important? As Pastor Josh states, “LCC exists to help everyone Know God, Be the Church, and Lead the Change. As Celina grows, we want to be an integral part of all that is happening. The reason we are buying land and building a new building is because this mission God has given us is reaching people. We are growing as a church at an exciting rate, people are trusting Christ, our groups ministry is growing, and we are bursting at the seams of the current building we are in. Our mission has led us to growth, and that growth has allowed us to serve more people. This includes ministries, better facili ties for your kids and families, more staff to specialize in providing care for people, and more opportunities to serve this growing community. LCC isn’t setting out to be a big church. LCC is setting out to be a biblical church.”

What began in 2020 as a collaboration between Helping Hands of Celina and Grace Bridge Resale of Celina for Celina High School Homecoming, has grown into a four-high school offer ing. Helping Hands is continuing the free HOCO dress giveaway through working with citizens from Gunter, Celina, Prosper, McKinney, and Frisco, to collect semi-formal and formal gowns, shoes, and accessories appropriate for homecoming dances. In prior years, local businesses such as, Two 29 on the Square, Stitches and Nails, and The Cawlfield Law firm, generously par ticipated through donating event space, alterations, and sweet treats for the shopping day. The idea is to create a memorable event for young women to select dance attire with dignity and hopefully, providing them with confidence to enter their home coming dance in style. Counselors and educators from Celina, Gunter, Prosper, and Rock Hill High Schools are invited to share the free dress shopping event with students who will benefit from this unique offering.

Students RSVP through a unique QR code and are encouraged to bring a parent or guardian to the event. There are no qualifying factors involved to attend and all students are welcome. How can you support Helping Hands of Celina and the free Homecoming shopping event? Donate dance appropriate attire and accessories to any HHOC drop-off location.
