e had a blast shooting this month's feature, "Givers," beautiful portraits by Fredrik Brauer of four people from the community who make giving a priority. Our Givers arrived at the lovely Westin Atlanta Perimeter North (Concourse Parkway) and were greeted by the friendly staff who swept us all off our feet, up to the 2-story suite overlooking the little lake and impressive buildings around the Concourse. Savor Bar + Kitchen sent up pastries, fresh fruit, juices coffee and tea (I drank three cups) and we all had a chance to chat during hair and make-up. COLOUR is a new Atlanta-based startup that has just launched with a lofty vision: All Women. All Hair. Equally beautiful. COLOUR is like Uber for hair. The free app enables men and women to get their hair done when they want, where they want, with their team of vetted stylists. It's like having a stylist on retainer. And the best part... They come to your home or office! We love that idea. The Beauty Bar of Alpharetta provided full make-up for our "models" and Danielle Johnson polished the faces that grace this month's pages. To top off the morning, Shane Co brought a spread of jewelry for our GIVERS to choose from to wear for their portrait. I'm pretty sure Shane Co gained a few new customers, based on the ooohing and aaahing over the diamonds and gemstone pieces they shared. We're so honored that all these generous people shared their morning and their stories with us. We hope you're inspired to give of your time and resources this holiday season, working to make our community stronger in some way. I LOVE a handbag! As a personal stylist, I see a lot of handbags and that’s a lot of temptation! For me, no matter how amazing a certain handbag might be, it has to work for ME, especially when we are talking about investment bags. My main criteria for a great handbag would be functionality, style (shoulder, crossbody, etc) and fabrication (if it’s leather it better be buttery soft). Details are always a game changer for me. I love a bag with mixed media like shearling and leather or like the Monili trim on a Cucinelli bag, or a pinch of print like the Dior. A great handbag can't be so big you that you lose your keys, but it also can't be so small you can't fit your basic necessities in it as well. Cross-body bags are one of my faves because I can be hands-free (much needed when traveling and working! ). But, I love all kinds for different reasons. For example, I gotta have my "Boss Lady" bag for big meetings, my "I won't die if my toddler writes on this bag,” bag and a good tote that I'm ok with having to put on the floor of an airplane. Handbags are definitely a personal choice but these are some of my favorite bags from this season. 18

Jaime DeGrave didn’t need a career boost, a hobby to fill spare time or outside interest to feed her passion for sugar and beautiful food. She has a demanding full-time marketing job, coaches and trains at a local CrossFit gym and is raising a 9-year old son. But when she visited New York City with friends and stopped at an adorable pop-up bake shop in Bryant Park called Woops!, she was stopped in her tracks. She tasted the handcrafted macarons and fell in love and before you could say “chocolate ganache,” Jaime had decided to bring the confections to Atlanta. The Woops! kiosk at Lenox Mall opened last month and Jaime and her staff have been busy boxing up the lovely little macarons (that’s “mack-a-‘rons”) in scrumptious signature pastel and polka-dot packaging from the bright cart near the food court, just outside the Bloomingdales mall entrance. Not your typical mall kiosk, the Woops! shop is carefully curated with fresh flowers, soft lighting and a bouquet of pastries that will make any Instagrammer swoon. The 20-plus French macaron flavors change with the seasons, but you’ll nearly always find a sunny yellow lemon tart, pastel pistachio, soft pink strawberry milkshake just-right dark chocolate and reliable old fashioned vanilla macarons in the broad glass-fronted case that greets shoppers. Woops! also offers up to three flavors of pocket-size Belgian waffles, chewy chunky cookies, and seasonal pastries, all displayed and packaged with panache.

But, it’s the tiny macarons that steal the show, handcrafted with exceptional care in the NY bakery using the finest quality natural ingredients, free of additives and preservatives. Filled with premium chocolate ganaches and jams, the round sandwich pastries are naturally gluten free made using traditional baking techniques under the guidance of European chefs.
