We quite literally live for the summer! We have some exciting trips planned, and we're looking forward to soaking in the pool, enjoying the beach, and indulging in a bit of relaxation—though not too much, as we are a family on the go! Our girls spend their days at Meadowbrook Country Day Camp. This year, our oldest takes on the role of a Camp Counselor for the first time, adding an extra layer of responsibility.
In the midst of our busy lives, we’ve come to realize the importance of carving out time for exploration, both big and small. INGREDIENTS
• 1.5 oz. Casamigos jalapeño Tequila
• 1 oz. pineapple juice
• 0.5 oz. triple sec

• Tajín chile-lime seasoning (to rim glass)
DIRECTIONS
1. Begin by rimming your glass with Tajín chile-lime seasoning and filling it with ice.
2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and combine tequila, triple sec, pineapple juice, and lime juice.
3. Shake vigorously and strain the mixture into your prepared glass.

• 2 oz. Stoli blueberry vodka

DIRECTIONS
1. Rim your martini glass with sugar to add sweetness.

At Opalescence Salon, nestled in the heart of Somerville, owner Kristina Centino is no stranger to the allure of summer hairstyles. With the salon approaching its two-year anniversary, Centino reflects on her journey and shares insights into mastering summer hair trends while combating frizz.
“I’ve always had a passion for hair,” Centino shares, recounting her journey from styling family members’ hair as a child to opening her own salon. “For me, Opalescence is not just a business; it’s a labor of love.”
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Centino’s determination never wavered.

As summer approaches, Centino is excited to delve into the realm of summer hair trends, starting with the ever-popular beach waves.
“Beach waves are the epitome of effortless beauty,” she says, sharing her expertise on achieving that coveted tousled look.

Centino suggests using a one-inch curling iron if you’re looking for beach waves, saying, “You want to alternate the curling iron left and right, allowing the hair to push against each other to create a more lived-in effect.”
For curling iron beach waves, Centino recommends two crucial products.
