I don’t know about you, but I love any opportunity to recognize the women in my life who just make life more rich and beautiful. Our wives, mothers, and daughters are some of the most influential women in our lives.
And of course, with Mother’s Day this month, all eyes are on moms… But it’s not just the biological mothers, but the mother figures in our lives who have made an impact on us. It’s the family members, teachers, friends, and neighbors doing awesome things in our communities, pouring into our lives - making themselves unforgettable and irreplaceable.
While it’s always important to shop local and support our area businesses, this month is the perfect time to patronize businesses owned by women in our communities. That’s one of my favorite parts of this role - connecting with and championing the best of the best when it comes to Brentwood’s women.
They are movers and shakers, builders and makers. They are both seen and unseen. Their silent service blesses those who are under their care. Their attention to detail shows us something about beauty that can’t be seen or understood any other way.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes to send a text, make a phone call, or get your kids on a video call with the women in your life who deserve recognition. It only takes a minute to brighten someone’s day and remind them how much you love them.
Thanks!

The age-old question—how can you truly feel your best?— may finally have an answer. In The Feel-Good Way, celebrity nutritionist Cara Clark reveals the secret to sustaining a healthy and happy lifestyle and relationship with food. This carefully curated recipe book offers dozens of unique recipes, each handpicked to help you feel great from the inside out.
Cara first entered the nutrition world in 2009 by creating Cara Clark Nutrition. Since then, she has dedicated herself to helping others develop and maintain a sustainable and healthy relationship with food. She is also a mom to four daughters, has worked with thousands of clients, including celebrities, Olympic athletes, NBA and MLB draft prospects, has done speaking engagements, and now has her newest accomplishment to date: The Feel-Good Way.
“My ideal for people to take away is to reduce the stress around food,” Cara Clark explains. “Whether that's coming from the fear of eating too much, or the fear of eating the wrong foods, or building confidence in the kitchen. Because at my stage of life with four kids, they are dropping some major bombs on you in the kitchen, and that space needs to be emotionally safe.”
Releasing on May 13th, The Feel-Good Way heavily incorporates The Feel-Good Philosophy - one of the core parts of CCN (Cara Clark Nutrition). The Feel-Good Philosophy starts with seven fundamentals: eat within an hour of waking, eat every three or four hours during the day, combine macros every time you eat: 50 percent carbs, 25 percent protein, and 20 percent fat, keep meal sizes consistent, eat five different colors a day, drink half your body weight in ounces of water, and move your body in a way that feels good for thirty minutes at least four times a week.
By staying consistent with these seven fundamentals, sustaining a healthier lifestyle has never been easier.
“The reason we call it The Feel-Good Way and we call our membership the CCN difference is because we want people to really feel the difference when they eat the way that we teach,” Cara explains. “So, as the foundation of Cara Clark Nutrition, what we teach in a feel-good way, we recommend an eating philosophy that is super sustainable.”
The Feel-Good Way has something for everyone, with six chapters divided into breakfast, smoothies, shakes and bowls, lunch, snacks, dinner, and dessert. Recipes aside, Cara’s personal touches are consistent throughout the book, including an endof-day blessing, heartfelt prayers, and feel-good FAQ sections.
“We take traditional recipes, and we CCN-ify them,” Cara says. “We make them macro-balanced. We pull the best ingredients, and we combine them to make traditional recipes healthier essentially and macro-balanced.”
Shifting your eating habits to nourish your body and feel your best may seem overwhelming at first, but The Feel-Good Way proves that it’s not only possible—it’s achievable and enjoyable. With her expert guidance, practical tips, and delicious, nutrient-packed recipes, Cara makes the journey to a healthier lifestyle feel effortless, empowering you to create lasting habits that genuinely make a difference.
“Start with one meal a day,” she advises. “You don't have to overhaul your whole life and choose meals that you don’t like. Don't force yourself to eat food that doesn't sound good. And I
think that's kind of what people think they're doing when they make lifestyle changes. But if you pick up my book, you're going to see a ton of traditional recipes in here CCN-ified, you get to choose what you eat, but start with just one meal a day.”
The same week that The Feel-Good Way is released, Cara plans to hold a book signing in downtown Franklin to engage with the community face-to-face, hoping to remind everyone that you are never alone in your nutrition journey. She plans to do more community-focused events in the future as well as she strives to build a more fun and safe culture around food.
Outside of her book, one of the ways she accomplishes this is through a membership program that CCN offers. This program is made up of 650-850 members, and their community meets twice a month over Zoom to establish face-to-face connections and allow CCN to teach more about the integrative health of the female body.

Carol Silveira is living the American dream. Originally from Brazil, she immigrated to the U.S. in 2006 at the age of 24 to join her mother and brother in Nashville. Arriving with a law degree from her country, she went back to college to obtain a business degree.
In 2008, she and her husband, Paulo Silveira, founded Benchmark Maid, a very successful cleaning company servicing Brentwood, Franklin, and the surrounding communities. “When I arrived, I was cleaning houses with my mom, and what inspired me to open this business was the fact that I liked bringing solutions to people's lives,” she says. “It stemmed from a deep commitment to helping others.”
Carol provides this help in a variety of ways. “It’s not only about cleaning homes but giving people the ability to spend more quality time with their loved ones and focus on what truly matters in their lives,” she says.
Benchmark provides deep cleanings, weekly and bi-weekly cleanings, or whatever it is that home and business owners need. “We always follow a detailed cleaning checklist to ensure consistency throughout each house, but clients can also customize their cleaning to focus only on those areas that they want us to clean.”
ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ALLAN MEDEIROS FROM TWO SENSE PHOTOGRAPHY
With its long-standing reputation and satisfaction guarantee, some of her customers have been with Benchmark Maid since it opened. “Benchmark uses efficient and detailed cleaning methods to make sure that every space has the cleaning that it needs and is done to the highest standards,” says Carol. “This is why we have over 300 positive reviews on Angie's List.”
The company also offers home organization. “We can organize closets, pantries, kitchen cabinets, kids’ playrooms, and even garages,” she says.
Its teams of cleaning personnel are all vetted and carefully trained, and Carol ensures that she is empowering them with financial security and growth opportunities. “We normally pay more than other companies because we want our ladies to be happy and to be able to provide for their families. I’m a business and life coach, so I'm always training them so they build valuable skills for long-term success.”
Benchmark Maid is also a proud sponsor of their older son’s football team at Brentwood High School. “We have always sponsored other schools, but sponsoring my son’s school is something that called my heart, and we couldn’t be happier,” says Carol.
She also uses her role as a business owner to seek out opportunities to help families and individuals who are facing challenging circumstances, whether it’s a death in the family or a cancer diagnosis. Benchmark will provide free cleaning services to make their lives just a little bit easier.
“We also support our church by cleaning it free of charge,” she says. “This is what brings me joy. This is a business, of course, but it's not only about making money. I love knowing that our services allow busy families, professionals, and other individuals to pursue their passions and enjoy their homes stress-free.”
Carol and Paulo are also big believers in supporting other local businesses. “We collaborate with other small businesses and service providers and always try to work with local businesses as much as possible, whether it’s the bakery we go to, our exterminator, or the person who comes to clean our gutters,” she says.
Another way Carol is empowering others is by sharing her journey and knowledge. “I'm coauthor of a book called Business on Heels that inspires immigrants like me. We're going to launch the book at SeaWorld in Orlando on May 29th.”
She is also working on her own book. “It’s a story of my life called Rescued to Rescue: How God Turned My Pain Into a Mission . We're going to launch it in Portuguese in Brazil in September, and I am planning on launching it here in English in October.”
For more information, check out their website. BenchmarkMaid.com
“It’s not only about cleaning homes but giving people the ability to spend more quality time with their loved ones and focus on what truly matters in their lives,” she says.

How Lamborghini Nashville celebrates women in the car community
ARTICLE BY SOPHIE BROCK PHOTOGRAPHY BY LATHROP SCHMIDT
The car community has long been seen as a boys’ club, but that is rapidly changing. From racing to car customization, woman have carved out their place in the industry. Women are no longer just participants in the world of cars; they are innovators, leaders, and enthusiasts who are making a lasting impact.
Dealerships like Lamborghini Nashville host events that celebrate women with a need for speed. Being a part of the car community has created a space that makes these women feel seen and included. Not only do these events create a sense of community among the women who attend them, but they walk away with an unforgettable experience. These events take the form of luxury lifestyle events, track days, or intimate meetups that allow these women to meet one another.
“Historically, the supercar space was perceived as being male-dominated, but women have increasingly taken the wheel, both literally and figuratively,” Jeremy Hunziker explains. “Lamborghini’s rise in SUV sales with the Urus platforms has played a significant role in this, offering an ultra-luxury performance vehicle that appeals to a broader audience, including women. Additionally, social media and high-profile female entrepreneurs, influencers, and executives have helped normalize and celebrate female ownership of exotic cars.”
Lamborghini hosts an annual 'She Drives A Lambo' event, bringing together women who drive Lamborghinis at premier locations across North America for an unforgettable driving experience. Models such as the Lamborghini Urus have become particularly popular among women and are commonly seen at these meetups.
“More women today see Lamborghini not just as a status symbol but as an extension of their lifestyle: one that represents power, independence, and success,” Jeremy says.
This shift has led to a growing number of women purchasing Lamborghinis and participating in the customization process. Rather than simply owning a luxury vehicle, they take the extra step to create a car that reflects their own identity. As more women enter the car space, they bring fresh perspectives, personalities, and a demand for innovation.
“Customization is key,” Jeremy says. “Many of our female clients want a Lamborghini that reflects their personality, whether through vibrant custom colors, unique interior finishes, or bespoke trims. The Urus platform, for example, is a popular choice among women due to its versatility. It blends supercar performance with everyday practicality.”
This trend showcases a broader movement in the car community, where luxury and performance intersect with individuality.
“As more women enter the high-performance automotive space, we anticipate seeing even bolder specifications, a greater emphasis on exclusivity, and more female-led collaborations in Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program,” Jeremy explains.
Lamborghini plans to expand its hybrid and electrification strategy and unveil new hybrid variant models, such as the allnew Urus SE and Temerario platforms. These models may appeal to women car enthusiasts due to the featured cutting-edge technology and Lamborghini’s signature power.
With social media and the growing number of local events, connecting with other enthusiasts has never been easier. Women no longer have to take the backseat in the car community. Instead, they are taking the driver’s seat, leading the way, and making their mark in an industry that once felt exclusive. Through these events and online groups, they now have endless opportunities to bond with fellow car lovers who share their need for speed and also provide a supportive network that empowers them.

Mae Estes has graced the Grand Ole Opry stage twelve times. Her first performance in March of 2023 was a long way from her start in entertainment at age 7 in the rodeo arena of her hometown in Hope, Arkansas, where she caught the entertainment bug.
“Great artistic songwriting lies in having something unique to share that makes other people feel seen.”
“The music scene in Arkansas was nonexistent. It's a small town in a lot of ways, and so not a lot of entertainment in general there. Not a lot of movie theaters, or bowling alleys, or music venues. If music was going on, it was on somebody’s porch or backyard or around a fire, but there were some oprys and hayrides. The Grand Ole Opry is THE opry, but an opry is a style of a live variety show, so there were lots of those around – in Shreveport, Louisiana, Texarkana, Texas, and Magnolia, Arkansas. That's what I did for a long time,” Mae recalls. “There would be talent shows at festivals where I had to sing classic country music with a live band. Those were some of my first opportunities to learn how to be on a stage, work a stage, and follow a band or, as I learned, to let them follow me. I got a lot of my live music chops playing those oprys.”
While Mae loved live entertainment, she didn’t find a lot of space to create or perform original music. She
knew if she wanted to lean into songwriting, have venues to play in, and be around people who understood the commercial market and business side of the industry, Nashville would be her ultimate destination. “I needed to be in a hub. From a young age, I studied Nashville. That’s what was written on the back of all the CDs I had and where every music video I watched on CMT was produced – the country music capital. I knew I had to end up here if I was going to try to make a business out of it.”
After catching the entertainment bug, singing was a physical release for Mae, her initial way to connect with people. Then, around age 12, she got her first guitar. That’s when her interest in songwriting developed. “For a long time it was this pressure it felt like everybody put on me, everybody wanted me to write songs because I was a singer. It frustrated me. I didn't have any ideas.”
Because it didn’t come naturally at first, Mae didn’t feel like she’d excel at it and just wanted to sing, until she became a teenager. A diarist from a very young age, she used writing as a way to manage her thoughts and feelings. “I started with diaries that turned into poetry, and after I got my guitar, I started singing those poems. I will say God gave me a hell of a life because He knew I’d need the motivation for country music. I have come from a broken home that spun out into a bunch of other stories and I’ve lived vicariously through a lot of people I grew up around. I've had a lot of ammunition for stories to tell and that's where I really found my songwriting strength.”
Mae continues, “I convinced myself I was a songwriter by believing that I do have a unique perspective to bring to the world. I think that's where really great artistic songwriting lies, in having something unique to share that makes other people feel seen. It's still something I struggle with just because there's so many incredibly talented songwriters, especially in Nashville. If you're gonna call yourself a Nashville songwriter, you better be damn committed to the craft.”
When asked what gave her the courage to make the big move to Nashville, Mae explains, “I truly don’t know what else I would do. It’s a blessing and a curse to be born with this kinda thing placed on your heart. I do feel like I was given a gift, but I was still trying to figure out what God intended I do with it. My supportive family had a lot to do with why I was brave enough to move to Nashville.” Even after playing the Grand Ole Opry twelve times, she still feels as if she’s breaking into the industry. “Most creatives raise their own bar every time they achieve some success or check off a goal and I’m no different. My ultimate goal is to find fulfillment in the journey itself.
“I will say God gave me a hell of a life because He knew I’d need the motivation for country music.”
“Every time I step on the Opry stage, all my nerves are gone,” Mae says. “It’s truly magical how it gives me a sense of peace and belonging –like I was meant to be there. You can feel the history and support of all the country legends who have stood in that circle before, and instead of intimidating me, it empowers me. It’s the highest honor I’ll ever have as a country musician.”
Along with the new music she’s releasing this year, Mae has another exciting adventure on the horizon for this summer. She’ll be touring with mega-entertainer Luke Bryan.
maeestes.com
Influenced by artists such as Keith Whitley, Lee Ann Womack, Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, and The Judds, Mae loves traditional country music most but has a sweet spot for the '80s and '90s. “I don’t connect with much of the current music made in the country space these days,” says Mae, “but [I’m] definitely fans of a few up-and-coming friends like Zach Top, Emily Ann Roberts, Jake Worthington, and more.”
She first saw Luke in concert over fifteen years ago. “It's been a really cool full circle moment to be one of his first fans and now to be going on tour with him. He's obviously one of the biggest entertainers in country music, even bigger than the genre. He’s a massive entertainer in the country space so it's an honor to get to go and play for his fans. I’ll get to settle into a routine and learn from him and his team and the tour and travel all over the country. It’s the biggest touring opportunity in my career so far and we are all celebrating it.” You can find more information about Mae and her tour dates on her website.

While in college, Ann Hollis-Young was taking communications courses with the goal of one day doing broadcasting. But that trajectory didn’t last.
“All of the cute boys were in economics classes, so I started taking economics,” she says, laughing. To her surprise, she found she enjoyed it immensely, and not just because of her classmates. “It was something I didn’t have a high level of competence in and it was challenging for me, but I knew it was something that would be really important for me for the rest of my life. That’s what started my path towards finance.”
It’s definitely a male-dominated field. “When I started in July of 2019, there were 20 people in my broker training class at Merrill Lynch and I was the only female.”
Ann didn’t let that statistic intimidate her. Today, she’s a managing director and senior wealth advisor with Southern Oak Wealth Group in Brentwood.
“I attribute my success to many great mentors along the way,” she says. “This is an industry where you never know enough, and you have to lean on people you trust and respect and constantly ask for help, which is sometimes difficult for women. There are people who may be better than you in certain areas because no one person can do it all or know it all.”
Knowledge is power, and in order to be successful in this industry, she says it’s critical to know what's happening in the market, what's happening in the world, and how all of these things intersect. “Read a lot, listen and learn.”
And don’t be afraid of downturns in the market. “After my training, I had about three great months of a market and then several
really, really difficult years. In retrospect, those were probably the best years of training that I could have asked for because, in my opinion, you do your best job as a financial advisor when the market is bad.”
The financial sector is a great fit for women, says Ann. “I think women make really great investors because we are skilled at outlining a plan and sticking to it. Also, there can be a lot of flexibility in this career because, ultimately, you are your own boss, and so you can decide how much, how little, or how hard you want to work and then build your career from there.
She adds, “I'm a working mother. I have two small children, 5-year-old Elizabeth, and 2-year-old Grace, and it's my greatest privilege to pick them up from school. This is a career that allows me to do that, for which I'm very grateful.”
It also gives this Franklin mom the freedom to spend time not only with her daughters but also with her husband Donnie and family who live close by. “We love going to Center Hill Lake or swimming in the pool and just being with each other.”
For young girls and women who are thinking about following their own financial path, Ann recommends that they speak with others who are already doing it.
“It’s also important to note that women as investors are making up such a tremendous amount of the population,” she says. “As this baby boomer generation ages, there's about $30 trillion in assets that are estimated to be controlled by women in the next several years.” What a great time to get into the industry!

Virginia Gero is the founder of the premier charcuterie and catering company Arrington Artisans. Curating stunning and nutritious charcuterie boards, grazing tables, and personalized meals, the devoted wife and mother of four is an expert in intertwining creativity and delicious foods. After earning her degree in Nutrition from The Institute for Integrated Nutrition in New York, Gero began her journey in holistic nutrition and helping clients achieve their wellness goals. Dealing with health issues herself, her view on nutrition expanded as she was diagnosed with Celiac disease, and made it her goal to make gluten-free eating normalized and exciting for her clients. In 2011, Gero made the move to Music City, where she continued growing her clientele by enhancing her clients’ diets and health habits, offering nutritional coaching and meal planning.
In 2018, Gero and her family were hit with the life-changing news that her youngest daughter - who was only two years old at the time - had been diagnosed with Leukemia. From that moment forward, everything was put on hold, and it was no question that her sole job would be to care for and support her daughter. Spending almost four years in and out of the hospital, it dawned on her the lack of nutritious options available - and it didn’t stop there - she found that she had to intentionally seek out healthy food options anywhere she went. Once her daughter was healthy and in remission, she was more passionate than ever to truly implement the importance of health and wellness into whatever she did next.
Virginia and her husband have never been strangers to hosting friends and family in their home; Guests would always compliment the curated meals and creativity behind each dish served. Believing that charcuterie is a great conversational food, Gero always loved bringing her visions to life on a platter. After many friends encouraged her to take her hobby to the next level, she decided to jump all in and start her own company. From here, Arrington Artisans was born! Residing in Arrington, the entrepreneur built a brand curated around her passion for cooking and food preparation to bring others an easy, put-together meal for their own gatherings. For almost three years, Arrington Artisans has continued to impress their customers with the outstanding details and thought put into every order.
“What I really enjoy about it is the creativity… it is more than just food on a plate,” Gero shares. “Anytime someone tells me they have a special event, I want to know more about it so I can elevate their experience and their event by really catering it to their unique needs. It is a creative outlet for me,” she shares.
Arrington Artisans not only curates impressive charcuterie and grazing boards, but they also customize dessert platters, fruit and vegetable trays, homemade dips - made from scratch to eliminate unnecessary oils and refined sugars, and catering. With the ideals of building the menu around the event, Gero likes to talk with her clients to create the perfect array of items that will help tie the ribbon on making the event a success. Whether this be hors d'oeuvres for a luncheon or a full dinner for over a hundred people, it is their goal at Arrington Artisans to design a meal that exceeds all expectations.
“Because I believe everything is so individualized to either your event, your personal taste, or a dietary need, I really like to get a sense of what the event is and customize [the menu] around that,” she explains. “A lot of people upcharge for gluten-free, and I do not… I feel like there should be access and ways to accommodate everyone’s dietary needs because I understand that on a personal level.”
With scarce food options available in Arrington, Gero wanted to create a space that could be a one-stop-shop. Since it can be a hassle to drive out to the grocery store on a whim before hosting, she wanted to give folks an option that would alleviate stress and leave everything ready to go. Serving the Middle Tennessee area, Arrington Artisans has had a hand in events from Nashville to Arrington and beyond.
“I think that’s been the most rewarding part of starting this - as a small, woman-owned business,” Gero shares. “Word of mouth has been extraordinarily amazing, I am so overwhelmingly grateful for the business - and repeat business - the people in the community have given me. For people to choose me for their event has meant a lot to me.”

“WHAT I REALLY ENJOY ABOUT IT IS THE CREATIVITY… IT IS MORE THAN JUST FOOD ON A PLATE.”
Nestled in the hills of Avalon, 391 The Lady of the Lake Ln, Franklin, Tennessee, 37067, is a European Countryside-inspired estate that exemplifies how thoughtful details can transform a house into a home. Every inch of this home has been carefully designed to create a space that is both functional and beautiful.
Though newly built, this home is filled with timeless charm, set apart by its intricate details and graceful, feminine touches. It is a perfect example of the shift away from neutral gray-andwhite palettes and toward warmth, character, and personality. Rather than following the minimalist trends that have dominated recent years, this home embraces texture, color, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
“Everybody is moving away from the white and the gray,” Lisa Culp Taylor explains. “Everything's warming up, lots of textures. We're seeing more and more leaning into natural tones. We're not necessarily seeing browns and tans, but more natural tones, earth tones, and lots of texture.”
Although this house is spacious at 8,651 square feet, it still feels warm and inviting. With vaulted ceilings, walk-out balconies, and windows that flood the home with natural light, every room feels effortlessly inviting and shares an uplifting atmosphere. On top of that, the house has two flex spaces that will be finished and
transformed into a guest suite, a home office, or an at-home gym, per the buyer's specifications, allowing endless possibilities. These additional spaces allow for the homeowner to make the home their own, adapting it to fit not only their lifestyle but the rest of the house.
This house also has some unique features that are a rarity nowadays, a beautiful reminder that the art is in the details. “You also have the Porte-cochere,” Lisa points out. “That is so nice because you're able to pull up under that, get all your groceries out, walk those straight in the house from the friend's entry. Or, if you do have friends that are over, they can pull up and park there under the covering if it's raining and then come in the friend's entry. I just think that's such a nice feature.”
“THE DESIGN WAS NEVER BROUGHT TO LIFE, SO IT FELT RIGHT TO LET THE PICTURE INSPIRE A CREATION OF MY OWN THAT WOULD BE.”
This luxurious home is a masterpiece of elegance and charm, and its thoughtful details are the work of a woman’s touch. Crafted by Garden Gate Homes, co-owner Kara Christensen, alongside her daughter, transformed this blank canvas into a stunning reflection of style, warmth, and sophistication. This duo incorporated feminine details that altered the atmosphere of the home, encapsulating the address’s name, literally The Lady of the Lake.
“For Chloe, my daughter who is learning to be a designer and who helped me in the construction design phase of this home, the parlor and “tea room” definitely appeal to her the most with their more romantic styling,” Kara explains. “She is a girly girl from her head to her pinky toe, so she is all in on the recent move to more feminine design trends. “
With this mother-daughter duo, no detail is ignored. From elegant, timeless wallpaper to breathtaking light fixtures, they thoughtfully picked out each element to seamlessly blend the home into its environment. The result is a space that feels both intentional and effortless, where every room flows beautifully into the next, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
“Seeing a picture from 1823 of a Royal Cottage renovation designed for the King of England — the design was never brought to life, so it felt right to let the picture inspire a creation of my own that would be,” Kara says. “With this home being built in the majestic hills of Avalon, it seemed a perfect fit. “
While many newly built houses follow the same signature style, this home was intentionally designed to blend in with Franklin's historic charm while still
offering the same luxury and convenience as new builds. The balance between tradition and innovation gives the home a character that feels familiar yet unique.
Lisa points out, “While it's in a newer neighborhood, the home still has the charm of homes from the past.”
Charm and attention to detail are essential elements that should never be overlooked in a home. These details not only enhance the beauty of a home but also create a sense of character and timeless appeal that make it truly special.

INSPIRATION FOR A MOTHER/ DAUGHTER DIY DAY
ARTICLE BY MEL BOBAN
An afternoon spent together is priceless with today’s busy schedules. Instead of going out, staying in can provide quaint, quiet one-on-one time for a mother and daughter (or multiple daughters). Finding time on calendars is the hard part, and filling that time is all fun from there. Here are a few favorite ideas for inspiration that may spark excitement for planning those special times together.
Storytelling makes for the best memories. Structure memory recall by filming or journaling interview-style question-andanswer sessions, cataloging information for future generations. Videos and notes with detailed family adventures are priceless, and we all always wish we had more of them.
Custom DIY charm necklaces and bracelets are trending. Gather a theme idea: birthstones, family initials, travels or even favorite hobbies, and procure charms from your local craft store or online shop. Selecting charms for each other also could be a fun way to bring delight to the crafting occasion. Necklaces and bracelets can be made for each other, or as future gifts for upcoming occasions such as a family wedding, a birthday milestone or an anniversary.
Text conversations around kitchen tips or ingredient procurement seem endless. Spend some time together in the kitchen preparing favorite family recipes, sharing Mom’s best tips and tricks. Choosing freezer-friendly meals is a great way to walk away with meals for upcoming busy days. There’s nothing like Mom’s recipes!
Printed photos are often stored in boxes or tubs with little organization. Perhaps you have photos of your own, or even a grandparent who has passed, that need an organization overhaul. While these projects can be daunting, ‘many hands make light work.’ Group the photos by decade and file them in order. Consider purchasing a photo scanner to digitize the files for future generations. Photo organization always brings storytelling, laughter and warm memories.
Elevate your space with the perfect blend of modern sophistication and timeless craftsmanship. Our new thin shaker cabinet is a masterclass in understated elegance, featuring crisp lines, precise proportions, and exceptional quality that sets the standard for luxury cabinetry. “I was inspired to go into business by my mother, who is a successful business owner and entrepreneur herself. She purchased her first business when I was 12. From there, I started my own business at the age of 15, with her as my mentor and business partner. She is still a great mentor today as I continue to grow and develop my business portfolio, and I love getting to cheer her on as she does the same.”
- Scout Turner, CertaPro Painters of Nashville and Middle Tennessee
“What inspired me to open my own women’s boutique was a desire to create a space where women could truly feel confident and empowered. I’ve always believed that the right clothing can make all the difference in how someone feels about themselves, and I wanted to curate a collection that not only celebrates individuality but also helps women express their unique style. It’s about more than just fashion—it’s about uplifting women, making them feel strong, beautiful, and confident in their own skin.”

“I started Canvas Skin because I believed in creating something bigger than myself — a space where passion meets purpose, where people feel seen, cared for, and confident in their own skin. Most importantly, I wanted to build a place filled with people I genuinely look forward to being with every single day. Not just a business, but a family — rooted in authenticity, kindness, and impact that brings light to the community. Life is too short for anything other than truly enjoying your day-to-day!”
- Courtney Allen, Canvas Skin
“I started my practice because I wanted to create a space where patients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. Being a podiatrist isn’t just about treating feet; it’s about restoring mobility, dignity, and quality of life. I realized that I could make a greater impact by building something of my own.”
- Dr.Yerusalem Lanier, Cutting Edge Foot and Ankle Clinic
“After spending time in the music industry, I realized it wasn’t my forever path. I wanted something more personal and meaningful, work that brought both fulfillment and flexibility, especially as I looked ahead to raising a family. Real estate had always been a part of my life through my father and grandfather, so stepping into the industry felt natural. It gave me the opportunity to build a career I love while being fully present for the life I envisioned at home. That balance has meant everything to me.”
- Ginger Holmes, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Woodmont Realty

“I have always had a love for communicating with people and all aspects about the real estate industry. I was motivated to start my own business by many different factors, but always thought of the quote, “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?” 18 years ago, I entered the world of real estate because I genuinely love connecting with people and helping them find a place that feels like home. It’s more than just buying or selling a house- it’s about being part of a really meaningful chapter in someone’s life and helping them navigate through what could be one of the most stressful transactions they may face. My goal has always been to help make their experience as stress-free as possible while realizing that I am likely representing them in one of, if not, the most expensive investment they will make, and that fact guides me to under-promise and over-deliver daily,”

“In my 20s, it was so easy to blame everyone for what was going wrong in my life. By becoming a business owner, I’m now in the position where the only one to blame for failure is myself. It’s a humbling experience to be able to offer another person a service and take pride in the process to create that moment for them.”
