THE LAST BEST PLACE. This month I am reminded more than ever of the privilege of living here. At least in part, because this is also home to some of the Best People I know. A few weeks ago, Denya Jacobs approached me with an idea for a story about home health care. It is focused on seniors but includes recent hospitalizations of any age. You see, my wife and the mother of my four children had an accident that resulted in several broken vertebrae in mid-August, while this issue was in production. She has been a stay-at-home mom since we had our first child, so within a few days, I found myself taking on full care of our four children coupled with around the

I want to give accolades to Kyle Dudgeon for his amazing contribution to Bozeman Life Magazine. October makes four covers, and they have been some of the best received we have had. Kyle has this uncommon ability to capture the animal’s eyes. They clearly acknowledge that he is present, but demonstrate no concern. The ability to capture that seems like he’s respectfully gained permission to photograph them. When I asked Kyle for an ominous owl photo for the October cover, he came back with with one of his own favorite subjects, the Great Gray Owl.

This fraternity of Marines and their families (FMF) serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. The group serves as a support system for each other to help Marines integrate into civilian life and to better serve their community. Sergeant Hoopii supported the Operation September Freedom event in Bozeman on August 15th. Operation September Freedom is the first and only Dream Flight Tour dedicated to honoring the men and women who fought in WWII. Veterans were flown from Gallatin Valley Regional Airport in a restored Stearman aircraft. The USMC recruiting station in Bozeman has been and will continue to be an active part of the Bozeman community.
