As summer begins to wind down and the start of school commences, the carefree days of slower morning routines and spending more time adventuring is exchanged for busier school and sport routines and schedules. The summers tend to progressively feel like they fly by the older we get, as do the years, but the simple pleasures of summer never get old. Although the routine of school for our children is often a welcome friend by the time August rolls around, it is generally a little bittersweet. Our August issue is dedicated to the cutest members of our community— kids and pets. They both have a way of making us feel special and their loyalty and sense of wonder are refreshing. In this issue, we are highlighting kids who are making a difference in our community. We also wanted to share a few of our go-to spots to enjoy with kids and fur kids. As summer comes to a close, we hope you are able to take some time to relax and spend time with the ones you love.

True Kid-Oriented Dentistry McNutt Pediatric Dentistry Team Goes Above And Beyond For Young Patients With a love for both children and dentistry at heart, Timothy McNutt Sr., DDS, opened McNutt Pediatric Dentistry in 1988. One year later, in 1989, Dr. McNutt got a rare opportunity to purchase the Green Hills-located practice of Dan Baccus, DDS. This was a special, once-in-a-lifetime development, given that since 10 years of age, Dr. McNutt had been a patient of Dr. Baccus. "When I was 13, I even told Dr. Baccus, 'I'm going to buy your practice someday,'" he recalls. Friendly, expert care is crucial to soothing young patients, and this dental team consistently receives
topnotch online reviews. The practice now provides services for dental cleaning, orthodontics, special needs dental care, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, sealants and digital X-rays. "Caring for children involves having an understanding of the medical, social and emotional needs of the individual at different periods of their life. Children are not just little adults," Dr. McNutt explains. "In the same reasoning parents choose a pediatrician to care for their child’s medical needs, a parent should consider a pediatric dental specialist to care for the dental needs."

He says he often has adults who jestingly ask him if he can become their dentist, too. While earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a dental degree at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, Dr. McNutt received multiple awards, which included the IMHOTEP Society for Outstanding Leadership, the Dean’s Leadership Award, and the American Society of Dentistry for Children Certificate of Merit. He also was president of his dental class, as well as Student Government for the College of Dentistry president. He completed a pediatric dental specialty residency program at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, which has one of the few pediatric programs that also train under the orthodontic department for the treatment of young people with braces. He served as chief resident there, graduating with honors. He also was a fellow at the Chauncey Sparks Center for Developmental & Learning Disorders. Dr. McNutt became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 1994. He's also been on staff at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for 20-plus years. In addition to Dr. McNutt speaking with children’s classes and parent groups to help promote good dental health, he's written a book for children to help them prepare for their first dental visit, titled Alley Alligator’s Awesome Smile.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT • Education: Dr. McNutt speaks with more than 25 groups every year. McNutt Pediatric Dentistry also sponsors many school events and fundraisers throughout the year. • The Arts: McNutt Pediatric Dentistry proudly sponsors many of Nashville’s organizations, such as the Nashville Ballet, Olde Worlde Theatre, Centennial Youth Ballet, The Frist Center for Visual Arts, and the Nashville Symphony. • Best Buddies of Tennessee: McNutt Pediatric Dentistry is an official corporate sponsor of Best Buddies, a group
dedicated to inclusive living. For 20 years, Dr. McNutt has given his time and resources to help individuals and organizations that assist those with special needs as these individuals hold a truly special place in his heart. • Interfaith Dental Clinic: For two decades, Dr. McNutt has supported the work of the Interfaith Dental Clinic, a group that helps restore, protect and improve the dental health of uninsured, low-income, employed Middle Tennesseans. • Book’em: To improve literacy, Dr. McNutt has partnered with the Book'em organization to host an annual book drive to provide books to Nashville children who would otherwise be without them. • Church: Dr. McNutt serves as a church elder, at which he and his wife are involved with the young adult and college group. Another of life's pivotal milestones is occurring presently for this Nashville native and graduate of John Overton High School. Dr. McNutt just welcomed his own son, David McNutt, DDS, into the practice, also as a pediatric dentist. David received a master's degree in pharmacology from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from Meharry Medical College, followed by a master's in pediatric dentistry/pedodontics at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. David also received numerous awards in dental school, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Epsilon, a national dental honor society. David is married and has two children of his own, so says he, too, understands the need for being a patient, compassionate dentist for kids so that youths have and develop positive dental experiences. 615.383.0171 McNuttDentistry.com

“When you own property on 30A, you’ll be smiling, too!” Linda Miller – the owner of Linda Miller Real Estate, who is also known as The Smile of 30A – might have had a slow start, but she’s more than made up for it in her 25 years of selling dreams on Florida’s historic 30A Scenic Highway. Now she wants to help people find their corner of heaven. “You don’t have to leave the country to enjoy a Caribbeanstyle beach,” says Linda. “Scenic Highway 30A is just a little over an hour away from Nashville via direct flight. It’s so much easier to get here now because of our new airport (ECP). You can fly down and literally be on the beach in 2 hours if you plan well.” Linda first dipped a toe into the real estate pool in 1978. “I was going through a hard time, a divorce. For therapy, I went to continuing education and got my real estate license.” Even after Linda obtained her Alabama real estate license, it took her a while to put her skills into practice. “I had a child, and I was afraid to work on straight commission. I worked a salaried position in a department store and did not sell real estate for 20 more years because I felt like I had to have the security of a salary and benefits. I didn’t have any idea what I could do myself and not depend on a big corporation. “Twenty years later, my children were grown, off to college, and I finally moved to the beach. In 1998, I got my Florida real estate license and started selling paradise. I grew up coming here. I love this beach. When Seaside started, I said, ‘I’m going to live there one day.' And the good Lord let me do that!” While her journey began as a means to empower herself, along the way, she gained the knowledge and tools to help her educate others. “I learned how people could build wealth by investing in real estate in my first few years as an agent. Over the course of my career I've been able to teach a lot of people how to make a lot of money,” Linda says. “Typically what happens is people come in at an entry-level they can afford, and the appreciation of the property is so much in two or three years that they decide to sell, and then they trade up, then they sell that, and they trade up.” As for the real estate mantra of "location, location," they’re all workable on 30A. “Many of my clients might have started on the north side of 30A, but by the end, they’ll be closer to the Gulf of Mexico and the beach. Using this philosophy and the power of rental income, by the time they retire, someone else will have paid for their beach house,” Linda says. With her life experience and real estate expertise, Linda is very passionate about one group of buyers in particular. “If there’s anything I strive to do, it’s to empower other women. I’ve been in some situations in my life where I’ve felt powerless and had to find out how to get my power back. Women have equal or more power than men in today’s world, and they need to be aware of their strength. Women control nearly 60% of CONTINUED >

the wealth in this country and 80% of consumer spending. I want to teach women that if they want [a beach house], they can go together, form an LLC, and their four best friends can buy one with them. Women don’t have to ask their husbands for permission. I’ll put together a plan," she adds. Linda is deeply connected to the area, making it her home for over two decades. “Seaside is 40 years old this year and as the birthplace of New Urbanism; it remains extremely popular -- people can park their car, unpack and go. Everything is within 5 minutes of the center point. They don’t have to drive to a restaurant, they can walk. People like Watercolor, Seaside, and Rosemary for this reason... to get off the grid, and just chill out and be at the beach,” she says. Real estate is a service industry, and Linda holds the wants and wishes of potential buyers gently in her experienced hands. “I don’t see how people buy a house without a trusted advisor— someone who knows the area, who listens to what they want. I’m a small boutique company. We’re very personal and we want to keep
22
M UST SE E | R EA L ESTATE
it that way,” Linda says. “The big companies that have come down here have swallowed up the mom-and-pop offices. I don’t want to be one of 50 agents. I want to be the one that people call back because I’m their trusted advisor. I want them to know that I care about them and that I know how to lead them into the best thing.” Looking back on 25 years, Linda says she's grateful every day to live under the splendid Florida sun and to do the job she loves. “I am always talking about Jesus. I mean, I know that’s why I’m here. I always knew that I was supposed to be here on 30A. I would be so filled with joy when I arrived and so sad to leave. I heard that as God’s voice. ‘Linda, you belong here. This is where you’re supposed to be.’ So I kept that in the back of my mind for all these years. The first half of my life was not easy but God had a better plan for me. Now I get up every day and ask God what I’m supposed to do, and I do the very best that I can to do it," concludes Linda. TURNING TEARS INTO SMILES ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI PHOTOGRAPHY BY FREEDOM REIGNS RANCH
A RANCH WHERE HAPPINESS REIGNS SUPREME
At Freedom Reigns Ranch, people and horses work together to heal one another. Although primarily focused on teenagers, the organization also assists children and young adults who've been through trauma. Carissa Ramsdell, FRR founder and executive director, can sympathize with those who come to the farm, both human and animal. “Because of the abuse and trauma I endured growing up, I was super angry at the world, at God, and everyone and everything,” she says. “But God basically used my horse, Boston, who was also dealing with a difficult past, to save my life. Through working and training with my horse, God unlocked my own heart.” Freedom Reigns Ranch was officially founded in October of 2015, but Carissa was helping kids with her horse, which she got in 2009, long before that. “Some kids from church were going through some challenging things, and being outside with one of God’s most beautiful creatures was really something that brought them a lot of peace.” While caring for and training with Boston, she watched them become more confident and empowered. “They stepped outside of their own comfort zones in a way that led to growth, not only with a horse but in their everyday lives. We basically combined a broken horse with a child whose heart had been shattered and watched God heal both at the same time.” Shortly after, a friend came to volunteer, someone donated a pony, and then she ended up taking a rescue horse that had been abandoned in a dog pen. “It just snowballed, and all of a sudden these kids were coming
26

and more people were coming to help,” says Carissa. “Then more horses needed rescuing, too.” At that point, she knew she had to start her own nonprofit. “Caring for horses is expensive, plus we felt from the very beginning that we were never supposed to charge anything. So, we really needed to create an avenue for folks who believed in what we were doing to support it.” This summer, the ranch will have officially provided more than 10,000 hours of mentorship. “We have about 50 individuals that come twice a month for the season and some who stay for multiple seasons because they really need this safe space to continue to thrive in their lives,” she says. For many of these kids, getting up on a horse and trusting it is life-changing. “I see this unbelievable thing happening where they're building this relationship with the horse,” she says. “We usually share that horse's story -- over half of our herd has their own history of abuse, starvation and neglect. As you watch, it's like these puzzle pieces coming together and you see how they realize that the horse that had been thrown away by the world, means the world to them and they connect that with their own life. That then translates into their own emotional sense of well-being.” The ranch has been leasing about 8 acres in Thompson’s Station, which houses 12 horses, but it needs to expand to provide its services to more people. “We have a wait list that extends 12 to 16 months and over a hundred kids are on it,” says Carissa. “Our hope and prayer are for someone to grant or donate 25

to 40 acres somewhere in Southern Williamson County or even Northern Murray County.” They’re also busy raising money for a long-term lease and/or to build up the new land and make any renovations necessary. Individuals and corporations can go to #UNimpossible to donate. “We will be doing a big fundraising push on Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29 that will be social-media based.” They were also planning on doing a fundraising gala on Sept. 10, but because money is tight for everyone right now, they’ll be having a fun hoedown for the community and donors instead. “We’re doing it true to our style -- it's a boots and bling style hoedown,” she says. Carissa says she’s amazed and overwhelmed to be a part of something like this. “Going from not having a reason to live 10 or 15 years ago and feeling like I would never overcome what I had been through to watching so many kids find hope again, there is nothing better. Watching the trajectory of their lives change course because God chose to use a horse to reach their hearts -- I've seen it so many times and it's special every time.” FreedomReignsRanch.com

INTERESTING PETS AROUND TOWN TO FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA ARTICLE BY DELIA JO RAMSEY
In a world where serotonin is in short supply, online pet videos and content are a lifesaver for many of us. The tenderness and love of these pets and their humans knows no bounds and reminds us that there is still good in the world. Here are two Nashville-based online pets to which to give all virtual love. Searching for an Instagram account that'll put a "hop" in your step? Melissa Hampton never intended to own a bunny, but now she says @billydabunny is "the pet I never knew I needed". She found Billy amid freezing weather in February of 2021, and the pair have been inseparable ever since. At first, she just intended to foster but ended up getting quickly attached to Billy, who has a super fun voice on Instagram living his best life. Rachel Perri owns the adorable @carlthehedgehogclick -- a 3-year-old African Pygmy hedgehog she adopted at 1 month old. "I always knew I wanted a hedgehog. wanted one of my own," says Rachel. "Carl is very low maintenance and easy to take care of. He’s got a sweet and sassy side. He has a three-story house haha he’s a fancy guy. My husband is a welder/ builder so he made it custom for him. Carl LOVES live worms, chicken, and eggs. His daily staple food is similar to a dry cat food. He loves being outside and running in the grass. They can be very temperamental and solitary animals, so I made it a point to spend time every day with Carl so he would become familiar and comfortable with me. He knows my voice and scent and can find me in a group. You always know his attitude by how his quills look. If they are up in all directions, they are sharp to the touch and he’s upset, but if they are laid down and smooth to pet then he’s a happy boy. He doesn’t like to be woken up, he gets startled at loud noises or abrupt movements. Carl does classroom appearances for our teacher friends and has even done a couple of birthday party appearances. Kids (and parents) love him. He’s got the sweetest face and great personality (for a hedgehog)," says Rachel.

The Mother Behind All Mothers and Her Determined Quest to End Poverty Underprivileged moms and children in Nashville have a guardian angel, and she’s inviting you to come along.
ARTICLE BY LACEY JOHNSON
Imagine a world where no mother loses sleep over how to feed her baby. Where no child is without a warm blanket in the winter and a clean shirt on their back. Where curiosity supersedes condemnation. Where, instead of frowning upon someone’s cycle of addiction or misfortune, it’s easy to remember that, in this life, we don’t all start off at the same distance from the finish line. Where the question isn’t so much “What can I do for my children?” but “What can I do for all children?”

Where we don’t merely gaze across distant borders, continents or oceans for those who need help being walked back to safety, but to the untraveled corners and unfamiliar edges of our own towns and cities. Where we don’t stop at tossing temporary fixes at heart-breaking symptoms, but explore the origin of inequality. And, ultimately, where it’s understood that poverty, which affects one out of five children in the United States, isn’t a “you” or a “they” problem, but an “us” problem. Of course, that world doesn’t exist. At least not yet. But, for Janie Busbee, founder of the explosively successful Nashville-based nonprofit, Mother to Mother, which has distributed more than 15 million baby and children items to date, and who was declared by her own mother to have “come out of the womb obsessed with inequality,” it’s a vision she casts daily. One pregnant with the kinds of doors she’s willing to swing open and the kinds of battles she’s willing to confront. Head on and heart blazing. Altruism was organically sewn into her from birth, though its seed was fertilized with a fiery passion for helping children in the early 2000s, when she and her husband were living in Boston for his retina fellowship. During this time, Janie enjoyed a successful career at Morgan Stanley, and spent her free hours volunteering at a battered women’s shelter. Except she noticed something troubling. While the organization offered an arsenal of tools for women, it offered nothing for the children of these women. This observation inspired her to create a few programs in the Boston area. One day, a mother wandered into the shelter with her 5 year-old son, who was in need of a backpack to hold his school books. But the shelter only had one to spare, and it boasted a glittery Cinderella design. “All I could do was scratch my head and say, ‘We’re in America, in this day and age, and we’re going to send this little boy, whose life is in upheaval, to school with a Cinderella backpack? Where he’ll be teased by the other kids? There’s got to be a better way,’” Janie says. On instinct, she phoned some power players in the area to help her gather backpacks for the kids. Within days, as a result of her bravery and persistence, there were roughly 20,000 backpacks being delivered. “I thought to myself, ‘OK, this is what I’m going to do. I’m going to start a charity that helps mothers and children,’” Janie says. It was 2004 and Janie and her husband were in the midst of packing up their life in Boston to put down fresh roots in Nashville, as he was joining Tennessee Retina. Before the move, Janie asked her attorney to set up Mother to Mother. She then bid farewell to the finance world in order to spend her days venturing to hospitals in and around Music City–exploring the dialogues and paradigms of its nurses and social workers, and scoping out the most urgent needs within the communities. Her first program was “A Baby Shower in a Bag,” which supplied essentials like diapers, wipes and pacifiers to new moms in need. And, from there, she kept going.
“I quickly realized I wasn’t confronting an issue where some mothers are in need of a few things, or even a lot of things. Some mothers have no love, no money, no training, no support and no opportunities. They need everything you can imagine,” Janie says. In an age where so many of us fill Pinterest boards with baby shower inspirations and gorgeously-styled maternity photoshoots we wish to emulate, a staggering number of women give birth without an essential item or a well wish to their name. For them, the concern over purchasing a car seat isn’t about mulling over which model is the plushest or the safest. Or even the most cost-effective. It’s the luxury of owning one at all. This painful discovery inspired Janie’s feet to continue hitting the pavement each day. It’s what motivated her to secure a warehouse with shelves that would always be stocked–and continuously emptied–of diapers, formulas, cribs and bouncers. Now, 18 years later, she has 268 partners, including Vanderbilt Children’s and Safe Haven, with daily distributions to hospitals, schools, shelters and foster care programs, among other organizations, including a program that stretches into rural areas. “From adoption agencies to potential foster families, anybody who helps kids, we help,” Janie says. She welcomes donations from locals all day long. And she’s attracted the support of celebrities as well, including Jessica Alba, who provides boxes of Honest diapers and other personal care items. Kristin Cavallari, who founded Uncommon James and Little James, chose Mother to Mother as her exclusive charity in the United States. Janie’s shelves are filled with adorable onesies from Kristin’s baby and kid brand, and she receives intricate pieces of jewelry to be gifted to the moms, nurses and social workers on holidays. In recent years, she founded Give a Damn, a line of merchandise with totes, T-shirts and hoodies, among other stylish items, that pour 100 percent of its profits into Mother to Mother. “Some people won’t support Mother to Mother directly, but they shop, so I started it to create another revenue source to help low-income moms,” Janie says. Also a mother herself, to a 16 year-old son who attends Montgomery Bell Academy, despite her privilege, she refers to the mothers and children she helps as “my people.” She's not interested in being anyone’s savior from afar, or even at arm’s length; she’s embraced them as her friends. She meets them at their story so that she can empower them to move beyond it. She speaks tenderly of a young woman named Sydney, who was 22 years old, 9 months pregnant, living out of a van and struggling with addiction the day she waddled into Janie’s warehouse. Her waxing belly was fully exposed because she couldn’t afford maternity clothes. Her shoulders were turned in and her gaze was lowered and sad, as though harboring a world of grief and pain. Janie counseled her, got her into a rehabilitation program, helped her secure a job, an apartment and a car, and provided CONTINUED >

all essentials, including a carseat, for her newborn son, Leo. Heartbreakingly, Sydney died in a tragic car accident when her baby boy was just 3 ½ months old– less than a year after being taken under Janie’s wing. But, because Leo had been strapped tightly into his carseat–something Sydney never could have afforded otherwise–he survived. “Working to solve poverty is about so much more than giving people food and clothes. It saves lives in ways that many people don’t even dream about. And it can change the whole story of things, generationally,” says Janie. Janie knows that some people don’t resonate with her mission, but that doesn’t give her any pause. Instead, it adds fuel to it. “I know some people think what I do is weird. I’ve never been poor. I quit a successful career in finance and I pay myself nothing. I can’t give you an impressive reason as to why I’m motivated to do what I do. But I can tell you that I genuinely lose sleep over inequality. That’s why I won’t stop. We need to come together as humans, stop punishing the poor and fix this,” she says. So, then, what’s Janie’s next goal for Mother to Mother? A multi-dimensional plan of education, employment and

mentorship that thrives on a bedrock of encouragement and love. “The only way to break the cycle of poverty is to create opportunities for those in need. And, while I think there should be a Mother to Mother in every city, I know that I can give a mother diapers but, in a month, she’s going to need more,” Janie says. Which means her long-term goal is to no longer be needed. “It’s easy for a wealthy person to look at someone who’s struggling and say, ‘Why don’t they just work harder?’ but the truth is that our world is segregated by money. This is why my mission has always been to solve poverty. I love what I do, but I would love even more to close my doors due to there no longer being a need for social services.” And, most significantly, she’s got a challenge for every heart who might find itself being tugged by this story. “Get involved with people you have no reason to meet. You won’t find them at your country club or favorite restaurant. They aren’t going to fall into your lap, but they exist and their needs exist. Step out of your comfort zone and learn about them as human beings. And, if you can meet a need or give them an opportunity to empower themselves, I hope you’ll do it.”

WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE AT ONE-STOP-SHOP FOR ALL THINGS MINIDOUGHNUTS, BEER, MIMOSAS, SPIKED SHAKES AND LIVE MUSIC?
In 2017, Shauna McCoy decided to leave her corporate sales career of 20-plus years and travel around Tennessee in a blue food truck to sell her charming, gourmet mini doughnuts. By 2019, she selected a permanent retail location as 'delightfulness central' in East Nashville at 311 Gallatin Ave. Deemed the Donut Distillery, Shauna and her husband, Todd, provide high-quality services, including various doughnut toppings, coffee, local craft beer, doughnut shots, mimosa/ coffee/beer flights and spiked doughnut milkshakes. She says their funky, down-to-earth atmosphere is just part of the fun. "Our goal is to give people an experience each time they visit us, proving that there really are so 'mini' reasons to smile," she quips. (To that end, she's been known to host comedy shows, art markets and live music on weekends.) The McCoys' select menu also can be secured at Assembly Food Hall, 5055 Broadway Place. Ask about their doughnut of the week. For special occasions, the Donut Distillery offers a Bachelorette Package, an Adult Party Package, and the Kids Party Package. Or, customers can rent out the Donut Distillery to

make their events easy and fun. For example, children's parties on-site include donuts with create-your-own doughnut activities, plus decorations, plates and cups. Shauna says their new coffee cocktails and flights are becoming increasingly popular. Paired with pre-selected doughnuts, consumers can get coffee with new twists deriving from such combinations as Tennessee whiskey, coconut rum or peanut butter whiskey and chocolate. "We invite everyone to come experience the different ambiance of East Nashville with us. You can be there in 20 minutes," says Shauna, a former Brentwood/now Nolensville resident. Holiday-themed donuts and packs always are on deck at Donut Distillery, so keep a lookout next for Halloween-themed olykoeks. "With fall time coming up, remember that we have outdoor seating. So you can sit out and enjoy autumn weather while getting your fill of pumpkin-inspired doughnuts and beverages. One thing that will never let you down is donuts," Shauna reminds. 615.678.8685 DonutDistillery.com

Dandy Savory/ Sweet Duo
To Dip Or Not To Dip Fries Into The Soft Serve -- That Is The Question ARTICLE BY JULIE BROWN PAT TON
44
H OT SP OT | FOOD + BEV E RAGE
What's more summery than combining creamy, soft serve frozen desserts and fresh, crispy fries? Nashville chef Jeremy Barlow couldn't agree more. That's why he started Fryce Cream last summer, offering both dine-in and walkup window service for delectable fries and homemade soft serve. "It's all about mixing flavors and textures, where salty meets sweet. I envision how foods will react on our palettes, and combine based on that," Jeremy asserts, admitting he feels like he already can truly taste these combos as he dreams them up. Soft serve is similar to ice cream, but it's softer and less dense due to air being introduced during freezing. Soft serve's been sold commercially in the United States since the late 1930s. Most people assume the practice of dipping hot fries into creamy concoctions surfaced when diners started serving fries and milkshakes on the same menu. Perhaps it came from first having such thick shakes, they required spoons to eat -- fries then became a substitute spoon until more of a shake melted and could be consumed with a straw. Fryce Cream soft serve flavors include chocolate, vanilla, swirl, an oat milk-based dairy-free option, and rotating seasonal flavors, such as peach, blackberry lemon and wildflowers. Jeremy's location at 2905 12th Ave. South, Suite 104 (former home of SloCo, Jeremy's sandwich shop) also features an array of toppings for soft serve, such as blueberry pie filling, banana pudding, strawberry drizzle or maple bacon brittle. Toppings are scratch-made with recipes he developed, plus an abundant supply of sprinkles on hand. Additionally, a large variety of flavor dusts and dipping sauces are available for fries, such as garlic herb-y or berbere, an exotic Ethiopian spice blend (tastes like apple pie with vanilla swirl or like chilies with chocolate). "We have everyone covered by dustings that are sweet, salty or spicy," he adds. "Fries also can come with ketchup, tartar sauce or our mysterious magic sauce.” The dusts, dips and ice cream toppings change nearly every week, based on Jeremy's moods and cravings. Jeremy opened his first Nashville restaurant, Tayst Restaurant and Wine Bar, during February 2004, just south of Hillsboro Village. Four years later, Tayst was the first in Nashville to become a Certified Green Restaurant. Regarding the most outlandish Fryce Cream combination request to date, Jeremy says no one is more foodzany than himself. "I'm waiting for someone to come up with something so adventurous that doesn't sound like it would work, because I love a food challenge," he vows.
