FOR BRANDON MAY, LANDSCAPING IS MORE THAN SIMPLY LAWN CARE
Growing up in the CSRA, Brandon May spent summers helping his dad take care of lawns in the Augusta area. As he got older, Brandon followed a calling into full-time church ministry. “We started a church here
for our customers. There's a level of transparency that comes with our business and we want to make it right every single time.”
Brandon gained valuable experience working all those summers
in Augusta and I fully intended to be a minister the rest of my life, but my wife and I got to the point where we realized our family needed some help,” he shares. “We needed more time as a family. I have three little girls, one who has autism, who need me, but I didn't have much of a presence at home at night. I realized I had to make some changes.”
In 2019, Brandon and his wife, Brittany, made the decision to step away from full-time ministry and instead minister to people through a new business adventure. Together, they run May Landscaping and offer lawn maintenance plus landscape design and installation. “I'm still a minister at heart and I love people,” he says. “We are committed to making sure that we do our job in the absolute best way possible
with his dad and it shows in his work. “We're true experts at what we do. We know what we are working with, and we know which plants to touch,” he explains. “It's more than just lawn care, it’s a process and a knowledge that we know what we're doing when we get to your property and can develop a good game plan for maintenance for your property. Our full maintenance lawn care includes taking care of beds and prunings, even those complicated prunings that most people don't know about. For instance, we know when to prune hydrangeas, drift roses, and liriope.”
Brandon’s true passion, however, is in landscape design and property transformations. “I meet with customers and they'll show me a disaster, overgrowth, or just bland
landscaping,” he says. “The coolest part is being able to show somebody what their property could potentially look like by coming up with a design plan – what we can add here or do differently there. I truly love the design and build aspect of what we do.”
For Brandon, the best part of his job is coming home to his family each day. “We love our lives right now. We’re happy and love what we're doing,” he shares. “We do what it takes to make sure we take care of our employees and that we are doing things the right way. We also think that landscaping makes everyone's life a little bit better and hope that we get to share a little bit of that with our customers.”
May Landscaping services both residential and commercial properties. Visit maylandscaping.net or call 706-550-7753 to schedule a consultation. Also, follow May Landscaping on Facebook to see completed jobs and works in progress.

“Construction is a difficult business, it’s frustrating, and we’re invading their space, so we try to make it as pleasant as possible… We don’t leave until they’re happy,”
If you’re looking for the best home services businesses to help produce the dream vision of your home, Mark Boyd and Taylor Simmons have banded together to head House Doctors and 360 Painting, the perfect pair of home services companies to help build or renovate your dream space.
Mark purchased House Doctors and became owner and manager in January of 2011. Having previously been in the automotive industry for 25 years, Mark was looking to provide a better service to the public. “The service industry needed qualified repair services through trusted contractors,” Mark tells us, and he decided to step up to the plate. He had a goal of building customer relationships and creating wonderful spaces for his community.
As for Taylor, home services have always been his main career. Before joining House Doctors and becoming the owner and manager of 360 Painting in Augusta, Taylor worked long hours for great money, but it wasn’t fulfilling. Now, “I get to feel proud about the product and stand by it,” says Taylor. There’s a sense of accomplishment. He can go for a drive and look around, seeing how his work has made the neighborhoods and city more beautiful.
In November of 2021, Mark and Taylor became official partners, and together, they set the home service industry on fire! House Doctors and 360 Painting are the top 2 home services under the Premium Services brand and have won Franchise of the Year twice, both in 2021 and 2022!
They can do it all for you – kitchen and bathroom remodels, drywall repair, power washing, door and window installation, low volt electric work, deck work… you name it!
House Doctors has an on-call handyman service that will assess and fix all your small projects like blinds, picture hanging, ceiling fans, and those alike. They also have an Aging in Place service that provides specific repairs and maintenance for the elderly. Installing grab bars and outdoor ramps are just a couple of things they can do for you and your loved ones. With 360 Painting, they partner with all the leading paint brands which contribute to their work always looking the absolute best, and both businesses utilize virtual estimates for the really small projects. You could snap a picture of that small, accidental hole you made in the wall, send it over, and have 360 Painting or House Doctors assess it for you!
Both businesses also participate in a number of local charities. House Doctors and 360 Painting have provided trucks for food delivery for the Bridge Ministry of the CSRA for many years. Furthermore, they plan to join up with Kids Lift in 2024 which is a charitable program under the Premium Services Brand.
If you asked Mark and Taylor what their secret to a great service is, their answer is conversation, not confrontation. “Construction is a difficult business, it’s frustrating, and we’re invading their space, so we try to make it as pleasant as possible… We don’t leave until they’re happy,” says Mark. There is a tremendous amount of trust that must be built in construction. Mark and Taylor make sure to always strengthen that trust with the customer, so they can deliver the best possible product.

STYLE YOUR HOME IN TONES AND TEXTURES WITH DESIGN HELP FROM HOUZZ INTERIOR DESIGN EXPERTS
ARTICLE BY NICOLETTE MARTINDecorate your space with handmade textures such as the modern, maker revival of 1970s macramé and year-round tropical feel of wicker. MACRAMÉ Made through knotting instead of weaving, macramé can add a unique touch in many various ways. Houzz contributor Laura Gaskill suggests incorporating it as nursery decor, plant hangers, wall hangings and modern fiber arts. WICKER According to Houzz contributor Yanic Simard, “the best way to really embrace the luxury-cottage appeal of wicker and rattan is to combine different forms of the two in one space... Look for other unexpected places to add a natural twist to your home with a new material woven into your palette.”
Houzz contributor Katie Treggiden offers many ways to incorporate natural materials and natural-state timber into your home, including using wood to cover one wall in a home for a pleasing accent wall; featuring your firewood as a striking, stacked display; and mixing different types of wood and different finishes in the same space. “A simple way to incorporate the wood trend is to expose structural wooden beams already present in your home,” Katie says. “Instead of painting them or boxing them in, leave them raw or give them a coat of wax to enrich the tones.”
